I have video clips with 4 channels of audio, I can only hear audio recorded on channel one, how do I hear the other channels......?

What version of Premiere Elements and on what computer operating system?     Elements 13 on Windows 7
What is the brand/model/settings of the camera that recorded these videos?        ony  PMW 320
When you import them into your Premiere Elements project, what does Premiere Elements Properties for that import give for
the audio description in the way of number of channels? If you open the Audio Meter (Window Menu/Audio Meters) and you play back
the video in the Premiere Elements Editor, how many channels does the Audio Meter display?
I just drag and drop video and when playing back only channel 1 will appear
What is your intended export for this video in terms of audio as well as video compression and formats?    MP4
I think you can only use audio if it's recorded on channel 1 or it does not recognize it.

  • Windows 7 - Pci-to-Pci Bridge (Error: Code 10) - PCI Video Card

Before I state my issues I will list what I'm running and what I'm trying to accomplish.
I'm running Windows 7 Enterprise 64-bit edition, not the Beta or RC. I have 3 video cards in my possession (listed below).
    - (PCIe) Evga GTX260
    - (PCI) Evga 9400GT
    - (PCI) Evga Fx5500
Out of those 3 cards I only use the GTX260 and the 9400GT. I had to 'retire' the Fx5500 because the latest WHQL (certified) drivers only provide support as far down as the "6 series" Nvidia cards. Unfortunately the Fx5500 is a "5 series" and falls below that line. I have already tried to use the GTX260 and Fx5500 in previous versions of Windows (XP and Vista), but there is no way to download and install two separate drivers for two of the same make of video card - you'll get nothing but errors. There is the option of going to a place like guru3d.com and downloading a custom supported driver that covers both the GTX260 and Fx5500, but the drivers are not certified and lack support. Therefore, I purchased and now use the 9400GT which is covered under the drivers for the GTX260 and eliminates the need for messing around with custom drivers. Also, the 9400GT has a better graphics processor and more memory than the Fx5500, so it was time to upgrade anyway.
Now that you have some background info here is my issue Whenever I install the 9400GT I get a second 'pci-to-pci bridge' entry (the other entry has no errors) that shows up under 'System Devices' in the Device Manager. The second pci-to-pci bridge entry has a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark on it that refers to a problem. When you check the properties of this device it more or less says that Windows has detected a problem (Error Code 10). The GTX260 still works and even shows up under the 'Display Adapters' as a GTX260, but no entry for the 9400GT exists. I have tried the 9400GT in both PCI slots and each time it does the same thing. If I pull out the GTX260 and ONLY run the 9400GT, I still get the pci-to-pci bridge issue, BUT I do get a picture and can boot into Windows 7 without a hitch. When I do this there is still nothing listed under the 'Display Adapters' as a 9400GT or even a VGA compatible device.
After messing around with this for 10 hours (yes, I said 10 hours) I decided to dig out my retired PCI video card (the Fx5500). When I installed this card I had no 2nd pci-to-pci bridge entry appear under 'System Devices', and the one that was listed had no yellow triangle or error codes. I then checked under 'Display Adapters' and Windows 7 had recognized it as a VGA compatible device and was asking for drivers.
I have now concluded that there is definitely no issue with the motherboard or any of my hardware (including video cards). At first EVGA Support and I had suspected that the motherboard may be bad because of all of the pre-diagnostic steps I had taken during my 10 hour ordeal. I'm not going to list everything I did because it would literally take 3 hours to type it all in. Just believe me when I say that I have tried most things including but not limited to the latest bios updates (flashed 4 times and completely reset to ensure accuracy), custom IRQ management, entire OS re-installation X2, multiple/latest chipset drivers installed, multiple/latest video drivers installed, memtest testing, complete hardware teardown and re-build (adding one device at a time), and MUCH more. The only thing I did not try was installing a different OS other than Windows 7 64-bit to see if I could replicate the issue. This is a waste of time though because lets say that I install Windows XP Pro and the 9400GT doesn't have this issue... Well, that's great, but who gives a damn about XP Pro when I have been using it for the last 9 years and when I have a full version of Windows 7 that I want to use? I'm certainly not going to run XP Pro over Windows 7 just to use this PCI video card. Second, if I install XP Pro and it still gives me the same pci-to-pci bridge error then again, I've only wasted more time because if its not going to work in either OS then Im sure as hell not going to leave XP Pro installed when I can use Windows 7.
    Thanks,
    piyush

Maybe stupid question now but has your posting anything to do with Toshiba and Toshiba notebooks?

  • Why can't I import anything? "File video dimensions (width/height) too large"

New to PP CS4 here (that will be obvious momentarily...).  I can't seem to import any footage into any project (well, at least none of the bits I've tried, and I don't think there's anything 'wrong' with them).  Every time I attempt to do so, I get the error:
    Dialog title: File Import Failure
Error Message: File video dimensions (width/height) too large.
This occurs with every files I've thrown at it - admittedly, they all have a lot in common, but they're not particularly exotic.
The files are (mostly) AVI files (I know, I know...before I get jumped, I understand it's just a wrapper, etc.). The files come from two cameras:
    1. A Sony DCR-TRV20. Opening up the AVI in QuickTime Player, I see it's listed as "DV/DVCPRO - NTSC 640X480"
    2. Canon PowerShot A620. Opening up the AVI in QuickTime Player, I see it's listed as "MotionJPEG OpenDML 320x240"
    3. I somehow managed to get the AME to spit out a FLV file. That failed to import with the same error message, too.
I tried running these files through AME, and got the same results (although never having used AME previously, I have a question on that, below).
New project, settings are all (I think) the defaults: Preset DV-NTSC/Standard 32kHz
New installation of PP CS4, with the 4.1 update, on a PC running Vista 32 with all the endless MS updates applied.
Related question: I've skimmed other threads here, and noted the advice to "always convert any non-standard footage to DV-AVI Type II" before importing....however, I see no such option for that output format in AME....only generic things like "Microsoft AVI" and "Uncompressed Microsoft AVI".
Codec issues?  I'm a little skeptical, since these AVI files play just fine in Windows if I double-click them. Does that not suggest that there's a codec there for them?  The files are from (what I believe to be) garden-variety consumer cameras (these devices are a bit old and certainly not high-end, but they're hardly exotic formats, I think). The files are small, short clips I'm attempting to use just to learn Premiere, but it gags on every one of them, every time.
PP is so insistent that every file I throw at it has improper dimensions, but these files appear to be perfectly reasonably sized, and I assume it's operator error (I'm withholding judgement on the quality and accuracy of the error string it's presenting me).  But I'm not sure where to look for the right knob to twist.  Pretty frustrating to be stuck on Square 1 (actually, Square Zero).
Can someone point me in the right direction?
Please be gentle, it's my first time....

    Thanks, but....mmmm....maybe not.
I've tried multiple settings for New Projects. Just created a new one using the preset for DV-NTSC/Widecsreen 48kHz (frame size 720 x 480, 48 kHz audio).  Exactly the same results.
You say "To point you in a certain direction, DV from a TRV is 720x480, not 640x480."  However, according to QuickTime's Movie Inspector panel, the file is 640x480.  This clip was captured through Premiere - that wouldn't change its aspect ratio, would it?
The files from the Canon still camera are AVI files, not still images (so I don't see how the reference to Photoshop applies, or perhaps I misunderstood your point). They are 320x240, according to QuickTime's Movie Inspector panel. If they're 320x240, wouldn't that be the same aspect ratio as 640x480?  Attempting to import them, I get the same error....
While not exactly Hollywood quality, I just need files to play with as I attempt to learn the program, and it's not clear to me why these files should not work - other than the fact that NO files seem to work. Also, I'm not sure what your reference to "exporting" pertains to - I can't get anything imported, I'm not trying to export anything that (I'm aware of) - I'll worry about exporting once I've managed to get something, ANYTHING to import.
I've got some PP training videos (from "you-probably-know-who.com"). Following along using their project files and their video assets (MOV files in this case), I still get the exact same error.
So to summarize, so far, I've seen no evidence that this copy of PP can import ANY video file.
While I'm sure I would benefit from spending more time with the fine manual, I think there's something wrong here that's not going to be addressed in the introductory documentation.  If I can't import any footage into any project, progress is going to be slow.
How about this: is there some known-to-be-good test file I can grab and try importing that?  I've got very strong suspicions that I'll get the same error message.
    Thanks again.

  • Rage 128 PCI video card no deep sleep

  • Video Converter with Alpha Channel support

Looking for a video converter (.mov to .flv) that supports alpha channels

The APNG app is available for free in the app store, you can use it to download a video in APNG format on the iPad. You would need to make the video with an alpha channel on the desktop, but then just type of URL into the URL at the top of the app and it should download and play. There is already support in the app for changing the background color that appears behind the video.

If you are making a custom iOS app, then have a look at the AVAnimator library, it is what the APNG app was made with:

  • Changing video frame width and height...

In Adobe Premiere Pro CS 5 I cannot seem to produce (output) a video larger than frame width: 720 and frame height: 480. The video is recorded in full HD 1920 x 1080p but after editing and adding effects in Premiere Pro CS5, the video changes to only 720 x 480.
    1) Where are the settings in Premiere Pro changed to produce a video size of frame width: 1280 and frame height: 720 or even frame width: 1920 and height: 1080?
    2) Is it possible to produce a video at 1920 x 1080 or is 720 x 480 the max?
    Your time is appreciated.

    John,
For now I will be using the videos for youtube promos and viewing on desktops but if I were, I would more likely output to DVD.  From what I understand it doesnt matter if I output 720 x 480 or 1920 x 1080 if it's going on youtube, however I would like the best quality video possible given that these videos wont be very long. (Elaborate on this if you can clear some stuff up for me).
Also, I may have mislead readers with my thread title "Changing video frame width and height."  I guess a more accurate title would be "How to Change frame width and height of Video Output."  Don't get me wrong 720 x 480 looks great on my desktop, but I would also like to output one at 1280 x 720?

  • M58p 7479 PCI Video Card

I have been searching on this subject for a while now and a lot has been discussed about PCI-E video cards for M58p models but I haven't really found many topics on PCI video cards for M58p models.
I'm looking for a way to stream videos from my M58p to my TV. One way to do it is to use a DisplayPort > HDMI convertor for the video and using an external sound card (for digital sound) to stream the audio. However, what I am afraid for is that the two won't be synchronized so therefore I looked for other options such as adding a video card. However, I never thought it would be so difficult to find a video card that is compatible to this model.
My question is whether someone can help me with advising on what to do? Any idea which video cards would be good and suitable for my situation?

  • PCI video card replacement for PowerMac G3 (Blue and White)

Hi, I am new to this forum. I apologize if this issue has been addressed before, but I have been reading over the forum for the last 2 days and tried all the steps I could find. I have an old PowerMac G3 (Blue and White).
It used to run fine. I had a friend with a similar computer and he
needed a video card, so I gave him the one in my Mac G3, because I was not using it at the time.
Now, I have decided I want to use it. I am running into an issue with the video (It takes PCI), I get no display, but I can hear the hard drive spin, it lights up, I hear the Apple "ding".
I have about 6 PCI video cards laying around, and I have tried all of them, resetting the CUDA each time. Still cannot get a display.
I have tried different slots on the motherboard, checked the PRAM battery, (it was good). Tried booting off a live Linux CD for power PCs, tried the commandoption+pr until I hear the apple "ding" go off 2x, I have tried a different monitor and monitor cable.
Nothing seems to work, I need to know what I should try next.
Thank you for your help in this matter.

"I have about 6 PCI video cards laying around, and I have tried all of them, resetting the CUDA each time. Still cannot get a display."
If these graphics cards are designed for use in PCs, they won't work in your Mac. Compatible graphics cards must be programmed with a Mac ROM. Some "PC" cards can have their EEPROM chip flashed with a Mac ROM, provided that someone has extracted the particular Mac ROM code for the card in question. A web search will provide leads for that. If you just want a decent graphics card, go for a Radeon 7000 Mac Edition (2002 vintage card). If you check eBay, you should be able to find a flashed "PC" Radeon 7000 card. I'd try to get the one with 64 MBs of DDR memory, as opposed to the 32 MB model. If you don't mind spending more $$, you can find a more current PCI graphics card for your G3, like the Radeon 9200 at Other World Computing.

  • Logic audio engine crashes while streaming video and recording 4 channels simultaneous audio

logic audio engine crashes while streaming video and recording 4 channels simultaneous audio

    Hi there,
I also wanted to thank you for your response and let you know that I have tried all those trouble shooting things you suggest to no avail.
it seems to me that the first explanations are most likely to be the case.
namely that the program can multithread while the plugs only use one processor (particularly EXS24) which is bloody useless.
also increasing the buffer to 1024 is not an option cause you gotta bloody lay tracks, which means you gotta hear the BG tracks and play yours on top in time otherwise, you record your new tracks and they are so out of time that it sounds like a little kid wanking on a guitar or whatever...
and of course for composition with midi intruments it doesn't work at all cause your latency becomes so huge that you would need a miracle to quantize your off time notes back to normal so that you can arrange, print score, etc.
either way, I hope that my tone is not disrespectful, it is aimed at apple in frustration, I'm grateful for your help.
    thank you

  • File video dimensions (width/height) too large

I cannot impoty any file of any type into my time line.  I was having some issues with crashing, ended up upgrading my OS to snow leopard, and then reinstalling all my adobe products. Now all of my media is showing up as off line, when i try to relink anything, jpg, psd, ai, and all video files, i get the error "File video dimensions (width/height) too large".  I really do not want to start over and re edit everything I have ever done, and i am not even sure i can do that at this point, as it also happens when i try to create a new file.
does anyone have any other fixes?  Please Help, I am going insane.
    I have CS4 Production Premium.
    OS Snow Leopard.
    Mac Pro, 8 core.

    Hi,
What kind of video files are you working with ?
I did a google search using ---- file video dimensions ( width/height 0 too large ---  and most of the info I looked at in the search results is about files ( still images mostly ) that are larger than 4000 x 4000 px.. which is a limit for the NLE....but some results were about using cineform codec and matrox graphic card and some stuff about nero and so on....so I would guess the more info you can give about what you have and have done the better...

  • File video dimensions (width/height) too large, importing AVI

I'm testing Windows 7RC and Adobe Production Premium CS4. Both CS4 and Windows are fully updated with all updates available through today. Premiere Pro CS4 is at 4.1.0.
I have hundreds and hundreds of AVI files captured from tape and from memory cards created by the capture process in Adobe Premiere Pro 1.5.1.  if I create a new project, HDV 1080i (60i) and try to import my AVI files I get the error message about 'file video dimensions (width/height) too large'. These files were created with the Cineform HD codec that came with 1.5.1. I have the CFHD codec "CineForm 10-bit-visually Perfect HD" loaded on this computer, and G-spot verifies that and can render and play the avi files. Since these are from HDV their actual dimensions are 1440x1080. I've also tried to import standard def AVI files with the same result.
I just picked a few random projects to attempt to open, and none of them will open. Not SD not HDV. I get the 'too large' message.
    Suggestions?
    Hawkeye

Throwing out wild guess here, but I think things changed with the way Premiere handled HDV with 2.0, at which point it went 'native' - meaning it no longer uses the Cineform codec.  I wonder if it's possible the two versions just don't mix, despite the Cineform codec being installed.
