PCIe card for eSATA drives - and 10.6

Help !!!!
I have 15 1TB external hard drives - in three 5-bay DAT Optic enclosures. They are on my Mac Pro (2009) - and they house tens of thousands of photographs for clients.
The external drives run from a PCIe card - using a Silicon Image driver ... SiI3124

My copy of Snow Leopard will arrive on Monday .. and now I learn that SiI3124 is not supported under 10.6. That makes it unusable for me.
Does anyone know of a PCIe card that can run eSATA drives under 10.6 ???
I can't believe that 10.6 was released without a driver to support external hard drives - other than consumer USB boxes.
Sometimes I fear that Apple is becoming a music store - and forgetting its role in supporting the graphics industry that helped found it. PCs run Photoshop faster than do Mac Pros with CS4 -- and now I can't even store my images with 10.6 !!!!!!!!

This is good advice for both PCIe and Expresscard. I have discussed this with Sonnet and I think they regret the cheap/expensive strategy owing to the lack of support on SI drivers. They did lower the price on the Expresscard/34 Pro by 1/3 , or $100.
I still have their E2P (PCIe Si 2 port based card) and an Expresscard/34 (non-Pro) available cheap for anyone who thinks Si drivers are a good value.
The new 64 bit driver will be nice for the handful that run in a true 64 bit boot situation which won't be many and is not really necessary at all anyway. OF course if you have one 32 bit driver you need then that won't be a viable option.

PCI Card for a new SSD. Good Idea?

Just upgragraded my 2009 MP (processor 3.33, video card, Ram). Just got a new 256 Samsung SSD wich is going below the optical drive. Did a search here about PCIe card for the drive and found that there's good and bad about it. Found this model model (Velocity solo x2). Is there one specific brand more suitable? or just make it simple and install the ssd below the optical drive.

The 2008 only has two 16x PCIe slots and the Sonnet Tempo Pro should be in the #2.
Even gpu's do not do as well as later models in performance, and some PCIe cards only supported booting in a 2009 or later.
Installing Mac OS to Sonnet Tempo I am sure you have read of the issues and how to get around it, is even on Sonnettech.com
Even though it 'tests' as xyz MB/sec in the real world the system is fine on SATA2 and in non-RAID setups. The 0.1ns seeks and latency and higher IO for reads. Someone did some thorough tests of different SSDs, different PCIe cards and the synthetic benchmarks. And concluded there was no real difference to the system and work load whether the system was on SATA2, but could be work performance using PCIE for other uses.

Putting scratch and graphic libraries for Aperture/Lightroom and others on a SSD and on a separarte bus helped. Even helps having iPhoto on SSD and the photo library folder on another drive - so you aren't read and write to same.
SoftRAID 4 - using 3 drives in a mirror but it uses "stripped reads" seems like it is fast, simple, less overhead and most people just never get idea of using more than two drives in a mirror, but it works great and makes it easy to pull one for backup. SoftRAID also does a better threaded background rebuild, and during idle time scans its drives for errors and bad or weak sectors. A lifesaver.
Even using the optical bay for the system might be perfect and then using the Tempo Pro for other uses.
With system's and SSD's and stripped, then of course a couple restore images and run DU against the array with TRIM enabled on a weekly basis, something, especially if the array is getting hammered as scratch. Tests though show those SSDs can take huge TBs of punishment day after day, but I have seen my own and read of too many errors.

I'm looking to buy the correct USB 3.0 PCIe card for a Z800, but I cant find any thru HP. Any have any info> There's 12 and 60 dollar HP cards on EBAY, but I don't know if those are correct ones.

I have LabVIEW Express 7.0 Professional - SCXI-1000 Chassiss - along with SCXI-1112, and SCXI 1520/1314 - cable to the PCI-6052E is attached to the 1520 card.
MAX says it recognizes all the cards in the chassiss.

I tried to set up the system as DAQmx.
I had MAX auto-detect the set-up - and it recognized all the cards - but did not select the 1315 accessory on the 1540 card - I had to do that manually - but in the configuration section I would select the accessory and it would deselect itself. I had to get out of the set-up and then right click on the 1540 card and click on the "Accessories" tab and select the 1315 terminal block that way.
It didn't seem right that the system should behave that way, but I pressed onward.
I then tried to create a new DAQmx Task
When I create new DAQmx task and then click on Analog Input no "Position" Tab appears for me to select, all I get are:
Analog>>Voltage
Analog>>Temperature
Ana
log>>Strain
Analog>>Current
Analog>>Resistance
Analog>>Frequency
Analog>>Custom Voltage with Excitation
Do you think there might be something wrong with either my hardware or perhaps my configuration that is not allowing it to recognize the 1540/1315 in DAQmx?
I had included the system report of what programs I am using, etc. as attached file nireport.txt
After the DAQmx did not work I tried installing everything as Traditional DAQ and it did let me set-up the 1540 Card with Excitation Voltage and Frequency and gain - I then went in to the VI that I had built and tried to use the Express DAQ Assisant to read the channel that I am connected to on the 1315/1540 - when I try to use DAQ Assistant it gives me an error saying that "Device not available in NI-DAQmx. It is possible that the device is being use by traditional NI-DAQ"
Which I guess it is since both configurations are now set-up in MAX.
I would PREFER to use the DAQmx set-up, but I am confused as to WHY it won
't come up with
Analog input>>POSITION>>LVDT
When I try to create a new DAQmx task.

Regarding the miniPCI WLan card:
Such part upgrade is not officially supported and therefore details about compatible cards are not available.
But from my knowledge many different notebook series have been equipped with different WLan card from Realtek, Intel and Atheros.
Probably such cards would be compatible even if they are not listed officially as supported part.

Sounds like either the Display or Graphics chip, that will not be cheap to fix. Because it is a 2006 and getting on in years, it might be best to move whatever you want to keep over to your newer iMac using Firewire Target Disk Mode and let it rest in peace.

If it's a charge though your iTunes Store account, it should be reflected in your Purchase History:

If the charges are not reflected in the Purchase History, then it's most likely a fraudulent charge to your credit card directly or your credit card number has been stolen and used by someone else in another iTunes Store account rather than an unauthorized purchase through your account. In either case it will be up to your bank to handle.

Normally you would go back to the store from which the card was purchased and get them to handle the problem, but since this was a gift, that's probably not possible. Go here:

Went through the process of entering product/serial numbers etc. and became "verified". Downloaded the product (~2 hours in time), the proceeded to install. At this - THIS point I was "told" I needed the 64 bit version (I have a 64 bit Lenovo T431s laptop). My patience wearing thin... I returned to the Adobe site from which I had done everything to this point. NOTHING with regard to a choice of 32 or 64 bit! Looked closely at the info that came with the download card... again, nothing regarding 32 or 64 bit option. Outlined this matter to Identit-e customer service... they said I need to contact Adobe. Adobe site does not make it easy to do that. Anyone have a solution and/or a suggestion?

Trouble with eSata Drives and Cards

I'm totally at my wits' end on this one. Hope someone has some useful suggestions.
I had an esata card from OWC that came with an external Mercury Elite Pro enclosure. I installed it in 10.4.8 or so. Upgraded to 10.5.1 and then 5.2. Started losing my raid (kept degrading). I separated the drives. They continued to work as indpendents. Then they started disappearing from the desktop. I would reboot and they'd reappear. Disk utility reported no errors on either drive.
Then they just completely disappeared.
I went out and bought an eagle esata/usb enclosure to test my drives. Both pulled drives from the OWC case mounted perfectly through the USB bus but neither would mount through the esata bus on the new eagle enclosure. So at this point it has to be the card or the wires right? Swapped out wires and still no joy. Wrote to OWC who didn't write back and bought a new card from another vendor (Norco). Installed it installed drivers. Shows up in PCI cards as a RAID controller.
Still, no esata drives will mount through it. Not even seen by disk utility. The eagle drive light indicating hard drive activity briefly illuminates during startup, but that's the extent of it.
I reset NVRAM. I ran disk utilities on my startup disk. Repaired permissions. Reset PMU.
I've attempted to install 10.5.2 combo update over my system and I get the error
"You cannot install Mac OS X Update Combined on this volume. This volume does not meet the requirements for this update."
Usually this means my system is updated beyond what I'm trying to update with... but this update was downloaded from apple.com yesterday... even tried it after safe booting to see if it was an extension conflict.
Anyone have any other places to go for help or thoughts on what to try next?

Sorry about that, okay the box was torn and there was no software. After a month of problems, spinning beachball etc. I contacted Norco and with the help of an interpreter, very difficult to understand tech support, I found out there was drivers involved. Downloaded the drivers and the card still would not work. Nor would the drives mount ( 2 WD my book studios 500g each.) I have returned the card and am currently running the drives through the 800 fw connection. I brought the drives, 6 gigs of ram and the card all at once, put everything togathr and thought I would be in editing heaven. I quickly fell into tech support ****...Everyone blames everyone else, oh well. I am looking ror a PCI-X controller card that works. I feel the Seritek could be the one. It is not my choice because it does not support ESATA 11. Can you help me?
