Hi,
PCK connects the partners that have no XI in place ans still want to communicate with XI which resides in the other landscape. It doesnot contain Integration engine to process messages.
Please find the installation guide for PCK in the following link,

  • Partner Connectivity Kit (PCK) Licensing

I'm investigating the deployment of the PCK for a small integration project, but am unsure of the licensing model.  I know there is a separate license for each productive PCK instance that you install (DEV and QA systems covered by the same license), but does this license also cover the J2EE instance that you install the PCK on top of or do you license the PCK and J2EE separately (i.e. buy two separate product licenses)?
Thanks in advance for your assistance.
    Regards,
    Andrew

    Andrew,
the only way to have good info about license is to contact local sap office
such questions should not be answered by anyone else then by SAP officials I believe
    >>>I'm investigating the deployment of the PCK for a small integration project, but am unsure of the licensing model
if you have a small project you can also use SAP business connector 4.8 (based on new sdk)

  • IDoc-to-File scenario with external Partner ... PCK necessary?

    Hi all,
I have a question concerning to a IDoc-to-File Scenario with an external Partner. Here is a short Description of the Scenario:
The SAP ERP System creates an IDoc which should be send to the SAP Integration Server. The Integration Server respectively the IDoc-Adapter transform the IDoc in IDoc-XML. The Integration Server executes a Mapping and so on. In the final step the Integration Server should send the XML-File to a FTP Server in New York (external Partner) with the File/FTP-Adapter.
Have I to install the Partner Connectivity Kit at a Server in New York or is it working without the PCK? Which are my possibilities?
    Thanks for your help
    with kind regards
    Christopher

    Hello,
If the FTP server has connectivity to XI and if the
port is open XI can directly do the FTP using File
    Adapter.
    Thanks,
    Himadri
    Hi,
    thanks for your quick answer.
What means "connectivity to XI"? Our SAP-Environment is in Germany and the FTP-Server is in New York. Is it enough to open the port in the firewall?
    Thanks for your answer

  • Strategical Decision - when to use PCK instead of XI - Adapter ?

    Hello Everybody,
being a newby to the world of SAP Netweaver I found the ressources you created here very use- und helpful - thank you all.
We are in somekind of a design-phase regarding our necessary interfaces ...
right now a strategic question occures : when will it make sense to make use of PCK instead of using the possibilties PI has ?
Or else : Why should I use (and pay for) pck, while Netweaver PI can be used as some kind of middleware?
    Whats the advantage / disadvantage?
I found and read a lot of blogs, threads, etc. describing and discussing the how PCK works (or not) but I still don't get the picture about the questions above.
    Thanks in advance !
    René

    hi
The PCK (Partner Connectivity Kit) is a solution provided by SAP for companies who wants to communicate with another company that have SAP XI but don’t want to install their own SAP XI, basically it’s an installation of an small SAP XI system with most of the functionality disabled and it is used as an endpoint for message transfer between the organization with XI and the partner company.

  • PCK 3.0 installation errors

    Hi all,
As I try to install the PCK 3.0 I get the following errors:
    ERROR 2005-08-17 11:31:22
FKD-00037  Query did not return a result.
    ERROR 2005-08-17 11:31:22
FKD-00038  Query did not return a result.Select attribute SID, statement: WHERE ROWNUM  =  0
    I have WebAS 6.40 and Oracle 9i installed on a Windows 2000 Server (SP4).
Could it be a problem that I have XI 3.0 installed on the same WebAS?
    Thanks for any pointer!
    Denis

Please take a look at the installation guide from
    http://service.sap.com/instguides
SAP NetWeaver --> Release 04 --> Installation --> SAP XI --> Installation Guide - SAP Partner Connectivity Kit (pdf)
    Look at page 11.
SAP calls all of these Web AS but pay attention to what installation they are referring to.
Web AS J2EE system is different from Web AS ABAP + J2EE Add-In.
Install a Web AS J2EE system then on top of that install PCK. PCK is not an add-on to XI installation (PCK is an add on tool to the XI but not on the same XI installation).
    Hope this helps.
    regards

  • XI PCK for Business One Integration

    Hi,
can I use the XI Partner Connectivity Kit (PCK) for SAP Business One to integrate B1 with ERP via SAP XI? What is DI API exactly?
I don't see the point implementing another middleware like B1i when I use SAP XI for integration with mySAP applications.
    Thanks in advance.
    Alex

    Alexander,
You can use XI as a connector instead of ALE to connect mySAP ERP to B1i.  The DI API is the connector for SAP Business One.  The DI API or Data Interface API is part of Business One and the Business One SDK.  B1i exists to easily connect mySAP and SAP Business One without typical coding that would be required simply by using XI to connect with SAP Business One and mySAP.  B1i contains all of the connections, pre-defined content, message handling and error correction for common business scenarios to connect these to systems.  Without B1i, you have to hand code everything.  If you are not connecting with SAP Business One, then you may not have a need or requirement to use B1i.  There are more detailed whitepapers here from the SAP Business One main page on SDN.  You should have a look at those.

  • PCK :: Configuration Example: Message Exchange

    Hello experts,
I has a problem with the configuration example from the SAP help to the partner Connectivity Kit.
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/8b/895e407aa4c44ce10000000a1550b0/frameset.htm
I have built up everything like in the description - two PCK (party_A and party_B) and XI (party_XI).
In message monitor of the first PCK (party A) stands that a message is explained successfully and second with error.
    Status: waiting.
    Details -
    audit log:
    Success Delivering to channel: message_an_xi
Error Exception caught by adapter framework: String index out of range: 0
Error Delivery of the message to the application using connection AFW failed, due to: String index out of range:0.
    Message Data:
    Error Category XI_J2EE_ADAPTER_ENGINE
    Error Code GENERAL_ERROR
Wo und wie muss ich Fehler beseitigen?
Has already explained jemang this example?
    Is it executable?
    Thank's.
    Regards,
    Alex

    Hi Zoran
While using BPM as well you will need to have communication channels.
    BPM - > BAPI request.
    BAPI response -> BPM
both sender and receiver channels are required for you.
1.Demand for a material is send via HTTP to XI
2.XI does a material availability check to the SAP system
3.A material reservation has to be done if there are any materials available in the stock (inventory) to the SAP system
4.If there is no material available a purchase order to a supplier (no SAP) has to be done via FTP
5.Parallel to the purchase order a purchase order confirmation is send to the the SAP system.
6.The supplier sends a purchase order confirmation to XI
7.The XI sends a purchase order confirmation to the SAP system
If i understood your requirement correctly and you want to use BPM. You need to do following in BPM
Receivestep1(receive HTTP post) -> transform1(mapping to BAPI request) ->send step1(Send BAPI request to SAP) -> Receivestep2 (Receive BAPI response from SAP) -> Transform2 (Map BAPI response to File)-> send2(File post to non SAP supplier)-> Receive3(receive purchase order confirmation)-> transform3(map to SAP purchase order confirmation)-> send3(Purchase order confirmation to sap)
    You need no of channels
    1.Receive 1 - (HTTP)
    2.Send1/Receive2 - (RFC)
    3.Send2 - (FTP)
    4. Receive3( HTTP or FTP)
    5. For purchase order confirmation.
    Thanks
    Gaurav

  • XI-PCK integration: features

We would like to use a B2B integration based on XI<->Partner Connectivity Kit. In particular, we would like to send/receive XML documents to/from an Oracle DB connected to the PCK via JDBC adapter.
Is there anyone who already experienced PCK?
I read it's possible to digitally sign XML documents coming from XI (XI protocol); is it true?
    Any idea about implementation effort?

    Luigi,
We have very limited experience with the PCK.  Both the PCK and XI itself will support digital signing in 3.0.  In our setup with XI 3.0 SP4, this is not yet the case.
As an alternative, we have been using the HTTP adapter with HTTPS to communicate with business partners.

  • SOAP Adapter and PCK ??

    Hi,
I want to implement following scenario.
    .Net Application -> XI -> R/3
I think the best way would be using a SOAP adapter
    SOAP->XI->RFC(to R/3).
Can anyone pls let me know , what are the steps that need to be performed to make this happen ?
Also do I need Partner Connectivity kit to implent this particular scenario , or when would I want to use PCK ?
    Thanks ,
    Vivek
PS : Point will be definitely awarded

    Hi Vivek,
Configure your Soap Sender Adapter as given in the link below :
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/fc/5ad93f130f9215e10000000a155106/content.htm
For configuring your receiver RFC this weblog might be useful
    /people/arpit.seth/blog/2005/06/27/rfc-scenario-using-bpm--starter-kit
    Steps :
    1) <b>Design Part</b>
    1. Create the data type, message type for input( from your .net Application) in XI
    2. Create a Synchronus Message Interface for the input side (SOAP Adapter).
    3. Import the required RFC.
    4. Do the corresponding Message Mapping and Interface Mapping.
    2) <b>Configuration Part</b>.
    1. Add the Business System and the Service (SOAP) needed.
    2. Create the communication channels
      a) SOAP (sender)
      b) RFC (receiver)
    3. Create the sender agreement, receiver determination and receiver agreement.
    4. Now create the wsdl file (using the tools -> Define Web Service of Integration Directory).
    5.Save the wsdl file.
    6. Now create your .Net application and add your wsdl file to that (as Web Reference).
    Hope it will be helpful.
For any other doubts do revert back.

  • PCK in XI

    Hi,
    PCK in XI
    Thanks,
    RamuV

    Hi Ramu,
    Purpose
The Partner Connectivity Kit (PCK) enables you to connect to SAP Exchange Infrastructure (SAP XI).
The PCK is a J2EE-based application that uses the Adapter Framework, which is also based on the SAP XI Adapter Engine. The adapter framework is based on the SAP J2EE Engine (part of the SAP Web Application Server) and the J2EE Connector Architecture (JCA).
    Implementation Considerations
The Partner Connectivity Kit is based on the SAP Web Application Server 6.40 J2EE server.
    Features
&#9679;      Using the PCK, you can configure how messages are exchanged between senders and receivers by defining collaboration profiles (communication parties, services, and communication channels).
&#9679;      The PCK enables you to convert information to the SAP XI messaging protocol. This conversion is made possible using adapters.
Conversely, you can convert the data that you receive from the Integration Server to other formats so that it can be used by your applications. When defining the flow of messages that are processed by the PCK, one of the end points is always the Integration Server.
&#9679;      The SAP Conversion Agent by Informatica allows you to convert unstructured, semi-structured, and structured data in XML format using an adapter module. See: Conversion Agent
&#9679;      A graphical mapping editor enables mapping between source and target structures. If you have implemented XSLT or Java mappings and packed them in a JAR or Zip file, you can import these archives.
&#9679;      Monitoring is available to enable you to monitor and track messages that flow through the PCK, and to monitor the adapters.
&#9679;      Information on adapter development is available for partners. This also contains information on how to create a module to extend the adapter functions. See: Adapter and Module Development
&#9679;      The configuration example shows you which objects must be created in the PCK and in the Integration Server of the XI customer to configure a message exchange.

  • Adapter configuration in Partner Connectivity Kit

I used sap sample adapter as sender and File Adapter in partner connectivity kit as receiver, I configured both sender agreement and receiver agreement, both adapters just do the file processing, it is very simple, but still do not function, are there any tricky i need pay attention to?

    Hi,
Yes the PCK is enough to test your development. In order to do so you need to configure a loop scenario:
You must set a number of xiadapter properties with the J2EE Visual Admin Tool
See help.sap.com under "Configuration Objects for the Adapter Test" (http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/f7/0c2441509fa831e10000000a1550b0/content.htm)
You must create one communication party in the PCK with one service.
For this party/service, you also require a sender and receiver channel with the adapter type to be tested.
You must create one sender agreement and one receiver agreement.
