PCK loopback configuration in NW04s
Hello, my company has a few PCK installations on Unix and Linux machines (NW04s). I am trying to create a loopback scenario. By loopback I mean that the PCK works without an integration server and it sends the messages to itself. I use file sender and file receiver. The sender tries to process the file, but fails. The message is logged in the error log. I get the following error in the error log:
"Exception: no XI receiver agreement configured in PCK for XI message header."
Could it be a configuration problem in the "SAP XI Adapter : XI" service? Any other ideas? On a NW04 PCK it worked fine.

Hi Yogalakshmi,
we're trying to upgrade a NW04 to NW04s. We've seen that you're doing this or you've just done it.
Could u give us any information about this?
Thanks in advance,

Hi,
I've read something about using the PCK in a loopback scenario to develop and test Adapter-Modules on one machine, without having a full XI running.
Unfortunately I couldn't find any detail information how to do that.
It would be really nice and helpful if someone could give me some tips how to do that.
Thanks in advance.

FrankYou find this in the online documentation for XI 3.0

Hi,
We try to use the PCK to test adapter development. According to help.sap.com you should be able to configure a loopback scenario by setting some xi adapter properties in visual admin, our values are:
xiadapter.internal devModePCK
xiadapter.isconfig.url http://localhost:50000/MessagingSystem/receive/AFW/XI
xiadapter.isconfig.username pckreceiver
xiadapter.isconfig.password saptech
When posting messages it indeed tries to post them back to the PCK but we get the following error:
Transmitting the message to endpoint
http://localhost:50000/MessagingSystem/receive/AFW/XI using connection AFW failed, due to: com.sap.aii.af.ra.ms.api.MessagingException: Could not parse XMBMessage due to invalid content type for SOAP: TEXT/HTML.
Anybody seen this before?
rgds Johan Göthberg1. did you test the url in browser
2. does the sap sample adpater's namespace map with namespace in sap xi adapter xi in visual admin?
3. the jndi is something like deployedAdapters/<adaptername>/shareable/<adaptername>
the adapter name is the name of your archive, if your archive is myadapter.sda, and your jndi is deployedAdapters/myadapter/shareable/myadapter
4. can you try the file apdater in pck first

Regarding ESS configuration in NW04s
Hi
We have already onfigured ESS BP in EP6.0 version.
Now we are upgrading the version from NW04(EP6.0) to NW04s(EP7.0).
I want to know whether any changes need to be done in ESS configuration also?
very urgent thanks in advance.

How XI identify Sender system through XI Adapter?
Foe example I have 2 PCK. I create 2 system PCK1, PCK2 and 2 sender channels with XI Adapter. Each sender PCK uses different interfaces. Each PCK is configured with receiver channel with XI Adapter (http://server:8000/sap/xi/engine?type=entry)Hi Sergey,

Configure EP into Solution Manager...
Dear All,
We are trying to configure EP(NW04s-SPS16) into Solution Manager-7.0(SP16). I was installed SMD Agent in EP-Side. and Deployed LM-Service-17(SMD) in Solution Manager JAVA Stack side..
After that i was exported JAVA Technical system from EP SLD and Imported in Solution Manager SLD and observed SLD agent is running in SMD Server.
At this place i strucked. i am not able to get the solution in SMD from SMSY and ABAP connectiviy is not there in SMD and if I run the UPGRADER option i am getting error.
I am getting confusion to read different different SAP Notes and improper guides.
Any one please suggest one proper source about configuration settings in EP side for SMD Agent,SLD,RFC Connections etc and Configuration settings in SMD Server(SOLUTION Manager side),UPGRADER,ABAP Settings,SOLMAN SLD side,etc all.
Kind Regards
SudhakarThanks Samuli,
I tried it..its working for solman but in my ECC (NW 7.31) its not working for web dynpros. Its going to hostname:8001 port and not redirecting to webdispatcher.
Pleae let me know if I am missing something.

AutoStart/AutoStop NW04s Portal on Windows 2003
Hi All,
I'm looking to configure my NW04s Portal's to autostop during maintenance windows for offline backups and autostart when finished.
Most of the threads I have seen are for EP6 and do not seem to be applicable as my NW04s Portl's do not have a jcontrol_<system #>.pfl or start_<system #>.pfl. I have also seen threads that identify go.bat working together with services.ini but the only go.bat files that I have on my system are used for Visual Admin ans JSPM.
Any example scripts or documentation would be great.
Thanks!
DanaHi,
Portal can started and stopped via startsap and stopsap commands via Command Prompt.
STARTSAP.EXE name=<SID> nr=<SYSNR> SAPDIAHOST=<host>
STOPSAP.EXE name=<SID> nr=<SYSNR> SAPDIAHOST=<host>
Those exe's can be found under Drive:\usr\sap\<SID>\SYS\exe\run
So you have to create a batch file (backup_offline.bat) and configure them like below:
Following is for an offline Windows backup. To configure a bks file for automatic Windows backup, please search Google with "automated windows backup" or "ntbackup bks" strings. Also have a look at ntbackup options.
You can then schedule this batch file via windows scheduler or other sw.

ISCSI loopback on 2012 R2?
Hey guys,
I'm running 2012 R2, and I would love the option to mount a iSCSI target on the iSCSI server itself.
I think the loopback is the best way to go but can't find any information about that.
GreetsHey guys,
I'm running 2012 R2, and I would love the option to mount a iSCSI target on the iSCSI server itself.
I think the loopback is the best way to go but can't find any information about that.
Greets
With Windows Server 2012 (even w/o R2) this is a supported configuration. See:
Introduction of iSCSI Target in Windows Server 2012
http://blogs.technet.com/b/filecab/archive/2012/05/21/introduction-of-iscsi-target-in-windows-server-2012.aspx
Loopback: There
are cases where you want to run the initiator and Target on the same machine; it is referred as “loopback”. In Windows Server 2012, it is a supported configuration. In loopback configuration, you can provide the local machine name to the initiator for discovery,
and it will list all the Targets which the initiator can connect to. Once connected, the iSCSI virtual disk will be presented to the local machine as a new disk mounted. There will be performance impact to the IO, since it will travel through the iSCSI initiator
and Target software stack when comparing to other local IOs. One use case of this configuration is to have initiators writing data to the iSCSI virtual disk, then mount those disks on the Target server (using loopback) to check the data in read mode.
You need to understand however you cannot just mount single LU with multiple iSCSI initiators and write to it from multiple locations unless you run some sort of an distributed lock (Windows Cluster or lock manager like MetaSAN) or clustered file system
(MelioFS, SFS etc). You can read more here:
iSCSI instead of SMB
http://www.starwindsoftware.com/forums/starwind-f5/trying-clear-this-use-iscsi-instead-smb-t1392.html
If you plan to use Windows target as a shared storage for cluster then you're again out of luck: it does not do any synchronous mirroring between hosts so is pretty useless. Commercial SAN implementations from the other side can do it just fine. See:
Virtual SAN
http://www.starwindsoftware.com/native-san-for-hyper-v-free-edition
So you'll be able to cluster only two hosts w/o any other hardware with iSCSI one connection in a loopback. Like on the picture below:
Hope this helped a bit :)
StarWind VSAN [Virtual SAN] clusters Hyper-V without SAS, Fibre Channel, SMB 3.0 or iSCSI, uses Ethernet to mirror internally mounted SATA disks between hosts. -
How to setup local loopback for "Oracle 11g Release 2" installtion
Hi all,
I was trying to install the Oracle 11g Release 2 on Red hat 6 using Local Loop back configuration, but not able to install..
The contents of are:-
/etc/resolv.conf
# Generated by NetworkManager
nameserver 59.179.243.70
nameserver 203.94.243.70
and of /etc/hosts are:
127.0.0.1 localhost localhost.localdomain localhost4 localhost4.localdomain4
::1 localhost localhost.localdomain localhost6 localhost6.localdomain6
and
System eth0 is having setting given below:-
IPV4 is set to " Automatic(DHCP)".
IPV6 is set to "ignore".
If i select system etho0 then host-name gets changed it becomes "dhcppc0".
i checked it using command host-name. and if i try to install with this configuration then during installation gives error of networking as host-name has been changed to "dhcppc0".
Please tell me what to do for local loopback configuration
Am i doing some thing wrong?
Thanksi am using "oracle Release 11.2.0.1.0" but same problem was there with oracle 10g on redhat 5.
Please tell me how to setup local loopback configuration so that i can use internet as well as oracle on same machine. otherwise for internet use i have to change my system ipV4 to automatic(DHCP). if i change it to automatic(DHCP) then oracle stop its working please tell me solution for both case.
I can not assign Static IP to IPv4, i earlier post i got recommendation to connfigure Local Loopback , but i am able to setup it.
what ever the setting i have done are given below:--
vi /etc/hosts

ComWrt randomly send twice the same string
Dear all,
I have recently ported to a Windows 7 machine an old program which communicates with an Arduino board through (virtual) serial port; the problem is that sometimes (once every about 10 times) the ComWrt function sends the same command to the Arduino board twice; I repeat: in debug mode I "step over" to a call to ComWrt once and I see on the serial line that the string is sent twice! I tried many combination of computers/cvi versions and it seems that the culprit is Windows 7, in fact the exact same program running in two different old xp machines does not show this behaviour and ComWrt seems to run smoothly. Any ideas?
Thanks and best regards!
NicolaHi all, now I can update about my problem and its unexpected solution; in the same time I will answer to the last question.
In order to simplify the problem, and following the first suggestion, I put the Arduino board in loopback configuration (no program running in the board, hardware shortcut of RX-TX pin on the borad) and I run the following code:
int main (int argc, char *argv[])
char buffer[30];
int i;
if (InitCVIRTE (0, argv, 0) == 0)
return -1; /* out of memory */
OpenComConfig(3,"",9600,0,8,1,0,0);
for (i=0; i<1000; i++)
DebugPrintf("Run no. %i\n", i);
ComWrt(3, "\r", 1);
ComRdTerm(3, buffer, 20, '\r');
Delay(.1);
if (GetInQLen(3)>0)
DebugPrintf("Fail!\n");
return 1;
return 0;
I connected the Arduino board by means of its USB port (which is seen by the computer as a virtual serial port), and it fails. I took also a USB-serial adapter, with pin 2-3 shotcut, and in this case the program runs smoothly: so I can state that it is a problem in Arduino serial port driver (note: I have tried both the last driver 1.6.0 and an old one 1.0.0, but nothing). I tried than to do the same thing with LabView but I used instead the VISA system (because I think it is the only way to use serial port in LW, I'm not expert) and it works! So I can also state that the problem is in the way that ComWrt interacts with the arduino driver in Win7. Than I have also tried using VISA system in LabWindows with the following code:
int main (int argc, char *argv[])
ViStatus status;
ViSession defaultRM, instr;
ViUInt32 retCount;
ViChar buffer[MAX_CNT];
int i;
if (InitCVIRTE (0, argv, 0) == 0)
return -1; /* out of memory */
status = viOpenDefaultRM(&defaultRM);
status = viOpen(defaultRM, "COM3", VI_NULL, VI_NULL, &instr);
for (i=0; i<10000; i++) {
DebugPrintf("Run no %i\n", i);
status = viWrite(instr, "Test\n", 5, &retCount);
Delay(0.100);
status = viRead(instr, buffer, MAX_CNT, &retCount);
if (retCount>5) {
DebugPrintf("Fail!\n");
break;
status = viClose(instr);
status = viClose(defaultRM);
return 0;
And, surprise!, it works also with the arduino board. So I understand that VISA and ComWrt use the serial port in a very different way!
To conclude, the initial problem remains unsolved and it seems that the combination LabWindows(ComWrt)+Win7+Arduino is bad; good solutions are: (1) XP instead of 7, (2) USB-serial adapter instead of direct USB connection with Arduino, (3) VISA system instead of direct ComWrt function. The latter seems to me the best alternative.
Best regards,
Nicola -
Hello all,
Is 9600 the max baud rate for LV? I'm currently using a LV RS232 cable in a loopback configuration to test...using 9600..and it works fine.
What I wil be hooking eventually, they said they'd want to run it at 62,500 due to the crystal on the hardware this will be eventually hooking too.
I just tried adjusting my baud rate on my loopback set up to 62,500....to see what would happen, and it error'd out.
I'm hoping this can run faster than 9600...and when searching through the forum posts here...I seem to see things saying that it can......
Any suggestions or links to info on this?
Thanks in advance,
cayenneIt may be possible to do custom baud rates with standard hardware if you have the right hardware.
I'm doing some cRIO/EtherCAT programming for an NI-9870 RS-232 module and got to wondering about some configurable properties called "Baud Rate Divider" and "Baude Rate Scaler" and found the following information on this page: http://zone.ni.com/reference/en-XX/help/370984T-01/lvaddon11/crio-9870/
Property
Description
Baud Rate (write only)
Sets the target baud rate for the port. If you set the baud rate, the appropriate Baud Rate Prescaler and Baud Rate Divider are set automatically, and are calculated according to this formula:
BaudRate = 3.6864 Mbps / (Prescaler * Divider)
Note The maximum Baud Rate for the NI 9870 is 921.6 Kbps.
Baud Rate Divider (read/write)
Specifies the divider for the baud rate as defined by the baud rate equation above. This property is useful for setting a custom baud rate programmatically. Use the C Series Module Propertiesdialog box as a calculator to find the appropriate divider for the desired custom baud rate. This value is an unsigned 16-bit value within the range 4–65535.
Note Any values outside of the valid range will be coerced into the range.
Baud Rate Prescaler (read/write)
Specifies the prescaler for the baud rate as defined by the baud rate equation above. This property is useful for setting a custom baud rate programmatically. Use the C Series Module Properties dialog box as a calculator to find the appropriate prescaler for the desired custom baud rate. This value is defined as a type def, either 1 or 4. A value of 4 is normally used only for very low baud rates.
I'm fairly certain that the NI-9870 will work in other non-cRIO backplanes (like the USB-based NI cDAQ-9174) but whether or not it will support these same options in an alternate backplane is unknown to me. If you are interested, contact your NI technical sales person and ask them to get you an answer. -
Oracle provider Issue in SQL Server 2005
Hi all,
On the dev server, I'm using SSAS 2005 (32-bytes) + Oracle provider for OLE DB to access my Oracle Database and it works perfectly.
On the production server, SSAS 2005 is running on a 64-bytes platform.
The Oracle client 10.2.0.1.0 (64 bits) has been installed containing the Oracle provider for OLE DB but unfortunately the Oracle provider for OLE DB does not appear in the list in BIDS when trying to create a date source.
Could someone help ?
Regards,
JuanAfter much grief I figured this out and this works for me going from x64 sql 05 on windows server 2003 to x86 oracle 10g on another windows server 2003 box...
Software Prerequisites
• x64 Oracle Client:
http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/database/oracle10g/htdocs/10201winx64soft.html
• x64 Oracle Data Access Components (ODAC) http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/tech/windows/odpnet/64-bit/index.html
• x86 Oracle Client:
http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/database/oracle10g/htdocs/10201winsoft.html
• SQL Server 2005 SP2 (x64):
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=D07219B2-1E23-49C8-8F0C-63FA18F26D3A&displaylang=en
Patch Level Required (As of Thursday, July 31, 2008):
• Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio: 9.00.3042.00
• Microsoft Analysis Services Client Tools: 2005.090.3042.00
• Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC): 2000.086.3959.00 (srv03_sp2_rtm.070216-1710)
• Microsoft MSXML: 2.6 3.0 4.0 6.0
• Microsoft Internet Explorer: 7.0.5730.13
• Microsoft .NET Framework: 2.0.50727.42
• Operating System: 5.2.3790
• Oracle Data Access Components (ODAC): 10.2.0.3.00 (64-bit Oracle10g Release 2 ODAC for Windows x64)
1. install the x64 and x86 oracle clients on the mssql box
2. install the odac on the mssql
3. Verify that the registry settings at
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\MSDTC\MTxOCI and
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\MSDTC\MTxOCI
are correct:
a. OracleOciLib = oci.dll
b. OracleSqlLib = orasql10.dll
c. OracleXaLib = oraclient10.dll
4. Verify that your tnsnames.ora and sqlnet.ora files have the correct info to connect to the source Oracle 10g (x86) 32 bit source. Note if there is a DNS or other name resolution problem in the environment you may need to change your host entry in your tnsnames file to be the actual I.P. address of the source Oracle box, until the network issue is resolved by the applicable environments network engineer. Additionally, note that if your client tnsnames.ora file is not configured to match the network topology in use, you will have issues… loopback configurations particularly cause grief.
5. Update Machine.config Add the following binding policy:
<runtime>
<assemblyBinding xmlns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:asm.v1">
<dependentAssembly>
<assemblyIdentity name="Oracle.DataAccess" publicKeyToken="89b483f429c47342" />
<bindingRedirect oldVersion="2.0.0.0-10.9.9.9" newVersion="2.102.3.2" />
</dependentAssembly>
</assemblyBinding>
</runtime>
6. Save the following as a *.reg file and run it...
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\MSDTS\Setup\WizardPath]
@="C:\\Progra~2\\Microsoft SQL Server\\90\\DTS\\Binn\\DTSWizard.exe"
7. Save the following as a *.bat file...
rem Progra~2 is short path name for "Program Files (x86)" and works around an Oracle client bug that doesn't like the ()'s in the path
start /B "C:\Progra~2\Microsoft Visual Studio 8\Common7\IDE" "C:\Progra~2\Microsoft Visual Studio 8\Common7\IDE\devenv.exe"
8. Save the following as a *.bat file...
start /B "C:\Progra~2\Microsoft SQL Server\90\Tools\binn\VSShell\Common7\IDE" "C:\Progra~2\Microsoft SQL Server\90\Tools\binn\VSShell\Common7\IDE\SqlWb.exe"
9. Create a shortcut that points to each of the batch files you just created and only launch BIDS or SSMS from those *.bat files...
10. create your packages, etc., as normal, but you will not be able to fully test them from BIDS or SSMS because they are 32 bit running in 64 bit o/s...
11. Create a job with a line similar to the following as a cmdexec type of job...
"C:\Progra~2\Microsoft SQL Server\90\DTS\Binn\DTExec.exe" /FILE "C:\SomeWidget.dtsx" /MAXCONCURRENT " -1 " /CHECKPOINTING OFF
12. your done...

No dialer command under ISDN BRI interface
Hi all,
I have a 2901 router voice bundle with 4 ISDN BRI ports and would like to have them bundled under Dialer1 interface. Unfortunately it doesn't give me option for Dialer command under BRI interface as expected.
router(config-if)#int bri0/0/0
router(config-if)#dia
router(config-if)#dia
^
% Invalid input detected at '^' marker.
router(config-if)#dialer
^
% Invalid input detected at '^' marker.
router(config-if)#
I assume it's down to the UC license installed on the device but not sure. Does the ISDN BRI interface behave in different way under this license?

Application name for SDA Deployment(Custom Adapter)
hi Experts,
I am trying to deploy an SDA file using SDM. I had created an EAR project using NWDS and then converted this into an SDA file using CECLT.
Now while deploying this file using SDM, it is asking for application name and vendor name. Vendor name i had given while creating SDA file.
What is the meaning of application name while deploying SDA file?
Please help if possible! Thanks!
MayankHi DDasgupta,
After you created a web application with a custom host name, if you got a prompt for the user and you may face the following issues:
There is continuous prompt for the credentials
HTTP 401.1 error
This shows that there is a problem with the Loopback configuration. This situation should occur only when we access the application from the server machine.
For fixing the problem, we have to disable the Loopback value inside the registry.Open the Registry Editor (regedit.exe) and locate the following key:HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Lsa, and create a new Key Value of type DWORD inside
it and set the value to 1.
More information, please refer to the link:
http://www.c-sharpcorner.com/UploadFile/40e97e/sharepoint-2010-creating-host-name-for-web-application/
I hope this helps.
Thanks,
Wendy
