PCL XL Error message when printing remotely from a Toshiba laptop to an HP LaserJet Pro CM1415fnw

This started today.
I am printing remotely from the laptop.
I am getting this error when printing from both Word and from Google Mail.
Printing to this printer from a different laptop works fine.

  • Error message when printing Sales Order

    Hi,
I get following error message when printing out a sales order just created.
No matching records found 'Document' (RDOC) (ODBC-2028) (Message 131-183)
Logged in as super-user, posting periods is unlocked. It is a new company just created. With sand-box company no errors-it prints properly to same printer.
    What could be the problem?
    Thanks,

Have you tried with system PLD?

I get the following error message when I connect a usb ethernet adapter to my new MacBook Pro: Unsupported - You cannot use an Apple USB Modem with this computer. I live where we only have dial-up and the Apple Store said this is what I need. In addition, when I connect the phone to the connecter it falls out, it will not click in.

Why are you using a usb ethernet adaptor? Just plug the modem into the usb port.

  • Error Message When Importing Bookmarks From A Network Share

An error message is generated whenever I try to import bookmarks.html from a network share on kubuntu. This same operation is sucessful on the windows version of firefox.
    To replicate:
The bookmarks.html is created by Firefox 3.68 on windows 7. And is saved to a network share location. When trying to import this file into firefox 3.6.8 on my kubuntu 10.04 machine, I get the error message/window titled: remote files not accepted. The message states: You can only select local files.
If I copy bookmarks.html local to the kubuntu machine, it imports without error.
On windows, I can import bookmarks.html from the network share without error.
Does anyone know why I can't import across the network on the kubuntu version?
browser being run on windows 7:
    Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.1; en-US; rv:1.9.2.8) Gecko/20100722 Firefox/3.6.8
browser being run on kubuntu 10.04:
Firefox 3.6.8 Mozilla Firefox for Ubuntu canonical - 1.0.

It appears to be any remote file, not just the bookmarks file. When trying to upload a file to a website, firefox threw up the same error:
error message/window titled: remote files not accepted. The message states: You can only select local files.
So what is it about files that are sitting on a server, firefox and kubuntu that causes this? I don't get the error message when using win7 on the same files.

  • Error message when printing, what can I do?

I keep getting error messages when I try to print a PDF.  This is very frustrating!  I have been trying to print tax returns from online and cant do it from this computer, which had the newer ADOBE DC.  I have tried deleting and reinstalling.

"Error messages" doesn't really tell us anything.
We also don't know your operating system or browser.

  • "Communication Error" message when printer is the AirPort-connected

After two years of using (and hundreds of pages printed), the printing on the Epson Stylus Photo R340, connected to the AirPort Express ('n' edition) ends just after a few centimeters of printing (now it's in 100% cases), showing one of the error messages below:
    - Printer paused (resuming/re-pausing leads to no further progress). In this case the printer is sometimes paused also un System Preferences > Print & Fax, but resuming in this level again leads to no progress
    - Printer shows "Communucation Error"
    - Printing dialog shows no error or pausing, but the result is the same as above
Removing the print task in printing dialog doesn't have any influence on the printer. In all these cases it's necessary to turn off the printer to start from the beginning.
When the printer is connected straight to the computer via USB cable, it prints as expected.
There were no software installations recently, except Apple system updates via Software Update.
Does it mean that Apple kisses the air printing goodbye or there's still hope to fix it?
    Thanks for any ideas

    Hello Syd,
thanks a lot for your suggestions. I appreciate Epson is monitoring forums like this! As I wrote above though, some of them I mentioned as performed (printer connected straight to USB port of the Mac). I also several times erased all the printers and added them again fresh, but unfortunately all still the same.
Just a few weeks ago, I printed a few dozens of pages and this happened after every about 20 pages and after printer restart, I was able to continue. Since I started this topic, the printer will not finish any single page over the AirPort Express, but prints fine when connected directly to the mac via USB.
I just don't want to bring it across the house (yes, I know I can share it on one computer for the others, but there's no room near the computer I work on and in addition, it worked before...).
So it looks like bad luck for me so far...

  • Error Message when printing handouts

First, I know this has already been discussed in these forums.  I tried the proposed solution in this thread http://forums.adobe.com/message/6273232#6273232 and it still didn't fly.  I'll go ahead and bust out a full explanation of the issue for those of you who may not want to navigate to the other thread:
I'm getting the following error message when trying to publish my project as a handout:
I'm launching Cap 7 in admin mode on a windows 8 machine and trying to publish to Word 2013.
I'll select a publish location and start the publish, it gets to 10% and then stalls out (the error message doesn't appear at this time).  If I hit alt+tab, I'll see a "Save as" window.  I'll reselect the directory and name the file correctly and hit save.  That moves the progress bar to 100% and the error message appears.  I've tried to copy and paste the slides to a new project and the same thing occurs.  From what I've seen, others have had this problem but I've yet to see a confirmed fix.  If you've run into the issue and solved it, please let me know.  Is there a word plugin I need to install?  Is there a way to bamboozle my handouts from captivate to .pdf to word?  That would be cumbersome but I'm not scared to try it.
    Thanks in advance,
    Eric

  • Q: Error message when printing Photoshop CS3 file

I get an error message when I try printing a CS3 photo on my Epson C86 printer, and the resulting print has the wrong colors and luminance levels.
Error Message = "Some PostScript specific print settings (Interpolation, Calibration, Encoding) will be ignored since you are printing to a non-PostScript printer."
Any ideas for how to work through this problem?
Thanks in advance for your help.

    Chris -
    Thanks for your quick response.
Do I understand you correctly in saying that Photoshop CS3 has PostScript information that it routinely sends to a printer, and therefore I would need to have a PostScript compatible printer inorder to work with this information (and also for my ColorMunki calibration to work)?
Based upon what you said, I think my color problems are because the ColorMunki profile for my printer, paper, & ink combination are being ignored.

  • Printer Error Messages When Printing PDF Documents

I keep getting the following error messages when I try to pring a PDF document. This application has failed to start because LXBBGF.DLL was not found. Reinstalling the application may fix this. The other error message is: Cannot load library LXBBPRP.DLL using default error 126. I spent over and hour with a Lexmark Tech. who unsistalled my Lexmark X75 printer and he did a register edit to make sure my register was cleared of all the old Lexmark entries. He then reistalled the printer and the drivers, but the error message still pops up when trying to print a PDF Document. He checked out the printer and it will print and scan all other types of documents with no error messages. He also had me unistall Acrobat Reader 11.0 and reinstall it. I also did a sytem restore but none of the remedies I have tried so far has fixed the error messages issues. I would like to get this problem resolved as soon as possible because I need to print my travel documents asap. This forum is great but can someone please let me know how to get in touch with Adobe Technical Support. I need their toll free phone number and email address?

    Hi Pat,
When I first encountered the PDF printing problem I went to the Adobe Web Site and downloaded the most current version of Adobe Reader which was the 11.0.6 version and the Lexmark Technician uninstalled the old driver and installed the updated version of the printer's driver. But this did not resolve the PDF printing problem. Both before and after the PDF printing problem surfaced I was able to print all other document formats except PDF documents.
It seems very strange to me that once I uninstalled  the Adobe Reader 11.0.6 and reinstalled my old version of Adobe Reader 9.3.3 that all of sudden I was able to print all of my other PDF documents. But that's what happened and Adobe still insists that it was a printer issue. I did a little research and this is not the first time Adobe has had compatibility/configuration issues with Lexmark printers and they have not resolved these issues.
I know I am taking a chance by using an unsupported unsecure version of Adobe Reader, but at this time I don't have any other option. Unless Adobe develops a patch/workaround solution. Which I hoping they will do, but I don't think this is going to happen soon because this issue is not a high priority as it only effects a small portion of their customer base.
    Thanks For Your Input/Comments

  • Receiving error message when printing on a Mac from Reader 10.0.2

I have tried printing several pdf files and received this error message: "Error: pstopdffilter/pstocupsraster failed with err number 13" from an HP Officejet Pro 8500. The problem started yesterday under Reader version 9.4.2, to which I upgraded a few days ago; I further upgraded today to version 10.0.2 to see if that would help. The printer is fine and the documents all print OK when using Apple Preview and Safari. There are no print restrictions on the documents. Any ideas?

Thanks for the reply, but there was no effect from "Reset printing system..." in System Preferences->Print & Fax. In addition, I uninstalled and reinstalled the printer software from disc - also, no effect. I've narrowed the problem down a bit by sucessfully printing to the same printer from Reader installed on another computer on my wireless network, so it does appear not to be a Reader issue. Off now to the HP website, and sorry if I created any unintended distraction to Adobe Forum members.

  • CUPS Error message when printing from some applications

Hi. I've got an issue when printing from some apps, but not others. Up to a few months ago everything was fine, then it started when Word would not print direct to my printer (Epson Stylus Pro 3880), not a big deal as I don't use it a lot and could print it through Safari if needed. Then more worryingly as a designer I found that PDFs stopped printing direct too, again I can print through Safari and Preview. Last night I installed a firmware update and now InDesign (CS4) is refusing to print!! Not great as printing via Safari/Preview doesn't give me the same level of control over my prints. Just checked both Illustrator and Photoshop and they both print okay. I get the same error code each time "error: /usr/libexec/cups/filter/pstoraster failed" Does anyone know what could be causing this?
    Thanks in anticipation. D

    cytan,
As Matt pointed, an application printing to CUPS controls only the format of the input.  It has no direct control over the chain of filters inside the printing pipeline.  Acrobat isn't coded to use pstoraster, it is simpling submitting postscript to the print queue.  In an un-molested Apple supplied CUPS setup, that works fine.
What is going on is that the CUPS system configuration got mangled by some third party bits.  In the Unix tradition, the configuration is fairly transparent, in the form of plain text files.  In particular, in /usr/share/cups/mime you will find out exactly how the filter pipeline is configured via a table of what filter to use to convert data between two mime types.  So we can inspect how the filters are setup and how a broken pstoraster is getting into the chain.
I don't have a handy "before mangling" state, but I can clearly see the Apple specified filters to be invoked when the input data is application/postscript (in apple.convs).  I can also see a conflicting filter definition referencing the broken pstopdf (in mime.convs) but with a higher precedence, overriding the apple specified filter.  This is why, in reference to your points #1 and #2, simply removing pstoraster fails, because the filter configuration is what needs fixing.
On my system, I found the pstoraster filter to be a shell script referencing a MacPorts install of ghostscript. I've since removed MacPorts, but that evidentally left the CUPS configuration in this broken state.  Without knowing exactly how the CUPS system was put into the broken state, fixing it can be a bit tricky.  Another posting suggested replacing the broken pstoraster with the Apple supplied equivalent of pstocupsraster.  That might work, but it would be better to simply remove the conflicting filter specification, which on my system is this bit in /usr/share/cups/mime/mime.convs:
    # pstoraster is part of GPL Ghostscript...
    application/vnd.cups-postscript        application/vnd.cups-raster     100     pstoraster
Removing that will restore the Apple specified filter chain for postscript input.  With the filter specification gone, you are free to remove the pstoraster filter itself.
On wating for Adobe to fix this...
Acrobat provides enough things to scream about without pinning non-Acrobat problems on it as well.  Not only is this problem not the fault of Acrobat, but suggesting that Acrobat should reach into a CUPS system broken by some unknown third party and fix it is only going to complicate the situation by having two third party products trying to un-do each other's configuration of a system resource.   Do you really trust Adobe to fiddle with system components it doesn't own?  No, I didn't think so.  Adobe installers and updaters have enough trouble with the stuff they do own.
So, why does this problem only seem to affect Acrobat (your point #3)?  I suspect it is simply that Acrobat is in the minority of submitting Postscript to the print queue.  Any print job produced via CoreGraphics APIs is going to enter the system via a different path (namely, PDF), but the Postscript method is completely legitimate and any application that submits Postscript will be affected in the same way as Acrobat.
I hope this sheds some useful light on what is really going on with this problem.

  • Why am I getting the following error message when printing, "(Acrobat.exe) The program can't start because x2utilHH.dll is missing from your computer.  Try re-installing the program to fix this problem.?"

After re-installing and applying all available updates, I am not able to get this error message to go away. It comes up every time we try to print and we have to close the box about 10 times before we finally get to the printing dialog box.

Have a look at this Microsoft forum:  Splwow64.exe error

  • Margin Error Message When Printing

I am using Word 12.2.4 0n a MacBook Pro running Mac OSX 10.6.3.
When I try to print a document to an HP CP3505n printer and I view the document in Preview the last few lines of the first page are cut off (those lines do not appear on the top of the next page - they are just lost) and I get the following error message:.
"One or more margins are set outside the printable area of the page. Choose the Fix button to increase the appropriate margin"
When I hit the Fix button, the bottom margin always resets from 1" to 18.37" (all the other margins stay the same). What is happening?

It tells us that Office has gone bad. Try re-installing Office (use the built-in uninstaller, rather than just dragging the apps to trash).

  • Script error message when printing google maps driving direction into PDF

    My system; Win 7/ 64bits/IE 9 both 32 and 64 bits/Adobe Acrobats 10.1.1. Pro
Intial problems in printing web sites into PDF files has been resolved when I upgraded into 10.0.1 after having installed IE9.
However, with 10.1.1. version, I noticed that when I tried to convert google maps results for a driving direction (From A to B), script error message showed up and I could not convert it into PDF. I tried both IE 9 32bits and 64 bits version, but both failed to do it. Please fix the problem for the next updates.
    Thanks

You might try running CHKDSK on the disk to where you try to save the file. You might have a corrupted file directory or a damaged track on that disk. I urge you to backup what you can before trying this.

  • Strange error message when printing to PDF

I am surprised that no one else has reported this issue. Searching the net, I found only one other mention of it. Using Adobe Acrobat Professional 8.1.2, when printing a document from any application using the Adobe PDF printer, the document will print correctly; however, the printer icon with a question mark will appear in the system tray and the error message "This document failed to print" will appear. When I open the Adobe PDF printer, the document is there with the status "Error - Printing".
I can successfully delete the document (with error), though the actual .pdf document is created just fine; it is just returning an error and holding the document after every print. I have tried deleting the Adobe PDF printer, reinstalling Acrobat (both using a repair installation as well as uninstalling and reinstalling) all with the same results.
There is nothing being logged into the system or application logs, either. I have seen this happen with two OSs at work, Vista Home Premium and WinXP SP3. Can someone guide me to a solution?

Well I can give you what I did to get around the problem.  I am running Adobe X pro on windows 7.
    1.  The print job in queue, cancel it so that it is deleted.  You now should have no jobs pending.
    2.  Go to Control Panel\Hardware and Sound\Devices and Printers(Win7) or just the printer and devices for your OS.  Yes this must be done with Admin privilages.
    3.  Go to Printer Properties for the Adobe PDF printer.
    4.  Select the ports tab.  Mine was on Com3.
    5.  Select Add a Port and call it Adobe Printer or something.
    6.  Select the check box and select apply.
You should now print with no errors.

Yes I am aware this has been a year, but this has happened over several versions.
