Pcmia to usb adapters available??

i just moved from PC to macbook. I use a Sprint pcmia connection card for internet access due to constant travel. is there an adapter available to use it with the macbook USB connection or do I need to get a new USB connection card? Did some searched but didn't find anything that looked reliable so looking for a similar user with some good advice...thanks!!

Well, here's one: USB to PCMCIA Adapter .
If that's not satisfactory do some more Google searching because I had no trouble finding plenty of alternatives.
If you decide to go another direction then visit EVDO Info to find out about USB based wireless cards for MacBooks.

    Hi Auracles1,
Here's a pretty discussion regarding wireless printing with this device and a Mac.
    http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Printer-networking-and-wireless/HP-Officejet-6500-E 709n-wireless-issue/m-p/258853
I have a similar OfficeJet and it was a multi-step process. (1) Install printer drivers on the machine, (2) Add the printer queue in print & fax, (3) Run the "setup wizard" from the disc for wireless printing.

  • Compatible wireless usb adapters

    PLEASE HELP URGENT!
I am out of town and desperately need to find a " compatible wireless usb adapters" to run off my aunt's Linksys WRTG....old wireless router-she cannot remember her WPA security code?  I am using a MacBook Pro running Mountain Lion.
I am currently standing at Staples Tech support desk and they are searching too but seem to not be finding anything.

I personally own the first two, and they work perfectly with the AEBSn. All 4 use the same chipset, so I assume that the last two should work also.

  • Where can I find a list of USB adapters that work in OS X.4?

My friend is trying to get his Mac up and running on a wireless network and he has bought a few USB adapters, but they aren't compatible with OSX.
I tried the Ralink drivers, but it stays connected for around a minute, then drops the connection.
So, if anyone has a list of compatible USB adapters for OSX, I'd appreciate it.

Here is the only product update page that I'm aware of at the Adobe.com website:

  • Any working uncertified Lightning to USB adapters for iPhone?

We used to have all these uncertified lightning to USB adapters that were $1 each (in a pack) from eBay and worked fine, only somtimes giving a warning and working anyway. Slowly, all of them got lost by family members. We have a couple more cables lying around that hardly ever work or only work with certain devices, and one of them is one of those stupid 3rd party ones that are certified and the same price as Apple ones. So I want to know what the status is on these cables before I buy more. Have the newer versions of iOS prevented them from working? Most of us are running iOS 7.0.6 or some version of iOS 6.
Yes, I know there are certified ones, but they're so much more expensive than the basically equivalent uncertified ones (if they work). I only use my original Apple adapter for syncing with my Mac, and the rest are just for charging, music in the car, and Xcode on the go.

    As it should, yes.
Lightning connector is a proprietary Apple product.
    Uncertified means stolen technology.

  • Usb port available amp

I have an HP Envy m6-k025dx. What is the avail amps from each USB port, 2.0, 3.0, and the charging 3.0?
Does the same DC power supply power all three ports?
I am asking because I have an Un-powered port expander . ON my previous HP laptop the USB port's power was blown because I had too many things plugged in, ( from 2005)
I could not find any USB power avail amp specs in the user manual.
    Thank You

    David Crabtree1...
When booted in 10.4.x launch Activity Monitor and see if anything "Epson" related, is in the list. (Applications-Utilities folder)
BTW- Command-1 (one) will Show Activity Monitor as a Text-List view or just go to the Monitors Menu and click on it.
If there is a Epson(process?).app running it may have the printer already tied up and may not let Chooser stake a claim to it because it sees the USB port busy. It may work after you quit or force quit anything related to your printer.
Don't forget that the printer may need a 30 second power off / reset anytime there some print bug. This is the most common issue with printers.

    Thanks in advance.

I'd also like to know if you can convert USB 2.0 to Firewire. I've seen some hubs around the $40 dollar range, but it is not clearly stated if they will convert, or if they are just hubs.
I recently bought the new MacBook Aluminum and it has no firewire port. Problem? My external hard drive is firewire. So I can no longer access my backup drive or backup data on that firewire drive without having to jump through some hoops.
Does anyone have reliable experience transferring data through USB on their Mac to firewire on an external drive? If so... what sort of hub/converter were you using?
Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks...

  • Wireless USB Adapters compatible with 10.8

Since updating to Mountain Lion 10..8.2 on my MBP 2008 - 8 gig Ram, the system will not start up when my USB wireless stick is attached. Once I remove it, the system starts up fine. Pop it back in and it shuts down. I can plug other devices including USB music Keyboard, iphone without any problems. Occasionally I can insert the usb stick and wireless actually works but it is intermittent.
I use the stick as the wireless hardware inside the MBP is damaged and have been using it like this for around a year on Snow Leopard without any problems. I also updated the drivers for my USB stick which is made by Realtek.
I repaired disk permissions and reinstalled Mountain Lion before posting this but the problem still persists.
Does anyone recommend any USB adapters that are compatible with 10.8??
    Kind Regards

  • What do I do if I lost my power cord to my iPhone 5 and there are no lightning cords or adapters available in my city or on-line at the apple store for 2-3 weeks?? My phone is going to die - I have no way to get the new power cord.

I got the new iPhone 5 last week and have been happy with it. I went to the apple store on-line a few days later to order some adapters for the power cord, so that I could use it with my alarm clock and dock at work - although they are back ordered until nov.  yesterday I lost my lightning power cord and there are NONE available in my city and the apple store is till out of stock for at least a couple of weeks.  My phone now has 10% battery and losing last - what can I do to power my phone???? I use it for work, I need to have it working and available butndont seem to have any options.  Please let me know if there is another device I can use to power my phone!!

Sorry to tell you but unless you have a Retail Apple Store close by, they are the only ones I have found with all the adapters and accessories. I bought an extra lightning to usb adapter the other day to use in my truck. Good luck....

  • No thunderbolt adapters available anywhere, why?

I wanted to buy a MacAir, but it does not have FIrewire.  I was waiting for the promised Sonnet Firewire 800 Thunderbolt adapter, but Sonnet says:
"Our apologies, at one time Sonnet was going to pursue an FW/TB adaptor,
but those plans have changed; Sonnet is no longer developing a FW/TB adaptor.
    Regards,
    David
    Sonnet Tech Support"
So I gave up and I bought a MacBook Pro instead.
So no one is making a USB 3.0 adapter either.  I already have USB 3.0 portable periferals.  Why is no one producing these promised accessory items?  Is there a reason other than Apple jumped the gun on Thunderbolt technology?  Does Apple have any plans to produce these adapters since no third party is supporting this technology?
Yeah, I know there are overpriced thunderbolt desktop periferals available, but I am not interested in heavy clunky drives.
Why is there no information available at all about this subject on apple's website?  Why is there no way to email Apple to ask about this?

No one here represents Apple or has any inside information about unannounced Apple products. You can send feedback to Apple at the link below. You won't get a direct response.

  • Siebel CRM v6 Adapters available?

I have a project that needs integration with Siebel CRM v6. I have no experience with connecting to a Siebel backend and I was wondering what are my options? Is there an official JCA adapter for Siebel CRM? Are there external APIs that are already available (perhaps web services)?
Any pointers or information would be much appreciated!
Btw, I can't find any documentation at all about this product!
    Thanks!

Mark, sorry about that. No, its more from a generic app server (think Bea, IBM, JBoss) etc. I was thinking along the idea of a JCA adapter. However, the backend apparently has some custom APIs that I need to tie into. I'm not sure where to start...I look at the link below...
Are there generic adapters such as a JCA one that I could use from a compliant Java EE platform?

  • Airport Extreme 11n (5Ghz) compatible USB adapters ?

    Hi anyone,
does anyone have experiences with USB wlan adapters which are compatible with the airport extreme 11n (5Ghz) mode ?
I've got the first version of airport extreme (non-gigabit).
    Thank you in advance,
    Axel.

Hm, this is starting to go into a direction I don't really like.
I also bought latest Airport Express 11n, which I have not used so far, while looking into this issue with AEBS. While writing previous post regarding Airport Extreme, I figured that I can use the Express to check is the 11n on AEBS working.
I connected it in, setup and went for "extend wireless network" option. And lo-and-behold, 11n wireless network was visible in the drop-down.
So the 11n on Aiport Extreme is working fine. The issue seems to be with the laptop itself.
This MBP should have 11n enabled by default. I checked in Network Utility as described in Apple Store page about 11n enabler, and I do see this for en1 network interface:
Model: Wireless Network Adapter (802.11 a/b/g/n)
So, it should mean I'm all set and ready. And that might mean that airport card in my MBP is faulty. :((
Anyone has ideas what to try, apart from going for replacement?
