PCR explanation needed

Dear Consultants,
Can any one explain below PCR
Thanks & Regards,
Navesh

Hi Navesh,
The function in PCR is ROUND. You can find help in PE04.
If you go there you will see it's doing commerial rounding not round up or down. If you would do round up replace K in ROUNDGK100 with +. It will be like ROUNDG+100.

  • Help/explanation needed - Using an external hard drive

    Hi everyone,
I bought an external 250gb hard drive as my MBP was very close to full capacity. Yesterday, I had a bit of a scare...
    1. I backed up my Aperture Library onto the external hard drive.
    2. I had about 500 of my favourite images rated 5 star and so I selected these and set up a new project.
    3. I went through my Aperture library deleting folders/projects that I have completed.
    4. I went back into the 5 star ratings and they did not exist. I assume this is because I deleted the master files.
    5. I wanted to have the 5 star images on my laptop and so I connected my external hard drive once again. [This is where I felt I lost control and understanding of what was going on].
    6. I looked for the seperate Aperture files but could only find a file called Aperture Library. I clicked on this but nothing happened at all [I had thought that it would open up Aperture with the previous library].
    7. I dragged the library onto my desktop and waiting for all the images to reload onto my laptop. I then saw that everything was as it was previously, i.e. all the files and images existed. However, my hard drive space was even lower [I assume this was because the current workflow that I had left on the laptop was now duplicated?].
    8. Then I got a message saying my iDisk space is critically low and may damage my Aperture library. Moments later the majority of my images disappeared and a red space appeared where every photo had previously been. Since I have 2 weddings that I am yet to deliver I was very panicked. I tried to drag and drop the Aperture library once again and the message came back that the operation could not be completed due to the current file already existing.
    9. I unplugged the external hard drive and the photos re-appeared [much to my delight]. However, my concern is that I really don't understand what happened and more importantly why. I will need access to the data on the external hard drive in the event in the near future and am worried that the same thing will happen next time I connect it.
As a result of all this I have some questions, as follows:-
    - Have I adopted the completely wrong approach to backing up data?
    - Can the master files be compressed as I shoot RAW and these are huge files?
    - Why could I not use the Aperture library stored on the external hard drive without downloading it back onto the laptop?
and a more general question about file storage...
    - I am confused as to how much hard drive space is being used on my MBP. I have 13gb in Aperture, 1gb in iTunes and 1gb in iPhoto. However, I only have 50gb available, so half the capacity is currently being used. I know that Aperture and Garageband applications use about 10gb between them and there is of course the operating system, but 50gb in total seems a lot. On investigation in the finder screen I see that on my personal drive the Aperture, iTunes and iPhoto data is stored there. However, it is also stored under pictures and music respectively. Does this mean that it is storing duplicate copies of this data and that is the explanation for such high hard drive usage? If this is the case, can one be removed?
I appreciate that this has been a long email, but I felt it was important to illustrate the steps I have taken. As you will no doubt glean from this post I am not the most computer literate person. Any help/explanation would be most appreciated.
    Many thanks,
    Jamie

    Hi Jamie.
I am not sure what went wrong with your setup but I will let you know my configuration as an example and you can decide if you think it is a good way to have it. I am asuming you are using ver 1.5?
Like you I have only a Laptop (G4 17" 1.5Ghz 2 Gig Ram - would love a macbook) so hard disk space is a premium. I also have an external firewire drive to hold all the HiRes RAW images. When I download my images from the Camera I do it manually into folders on the external drive (Cataloged by Date and maybe description of location). I then Import the images from those folders into Aperture but use the option when importing to "Store Files - In their current location".
My Aperture library file is on my laptop so all that it has to store is the "Preview" file that gets generated automatically (in the preferences I have it set up to the resolution of my laptop 1440pix so that if I did a slide show it is only as big as my screen - anything more is a waste of disk space IMO.)
I do it this way so that it is easy to find and work on my files with other programs such as Photoshop by going straight to the image rather than exporting from Aperture.
Obviously I cant edit the RAW files while the drive is disconnected but I can still do ratings and keywords without the original files being there.
    I hope this helps.

  • Number Range Buffering - Detailed Explanation needed!!!

    Hi GURU's,
Could someone please explain me what does it mean by Number Range Buffering and where we use it and how we use it.
Wouls definitely assign points for the detailed explanation. Thanks in advance.

    Hai ,
The number range buffer is used to increase performance when assigning
numbers. Instead of fetching the numbers each time from the database,
a single access to the buffer suffices. Only when the buffer is empty,
is it refilled from the database (table NRIV).
Use of the buffer has the following benefits:
    · Accessing the main memory is a thousand times quicker than accessing
the database. Speed is particularly important for applications that
    assign numbers frequently.
    · Database accesses are always subject to the database transaction
mechanism. Once an application has assigned a number for one user, a
second user cannot assign a number until the first user has executed a
commit operation on the database. The application blocks further
assignment, and the second user has to wait, until the commit has been
    executed.
    · The number range buffer can also prevent deadlock situations, which
may arise from assigning different numbers in a different order.
Since the SAP kernel accesses table NRIV directly for the number range
buffer, the structure of the table must never be changed. This also
    applies when adding new fields.
We can set number range buffering inSNRO t code.
Loading Master data - The number ranges buffer for the SID's resides
on the application server and reduces DB server accesses. If you set
e.g. the number range buffer for one InfoObject to 500, the system
will keep 500 sequential numbers in the memory and need not access the
    database.
    Hope this helps.
    asing points if helpfull

  • PORT FORWARDING Step by step explanation needed

I need a very easy to follow step-by-step explanation as I can't seem to work this out.
I have broadband with a static IP address, it comes through my ethernet modem (D-Link ADSL Modem DSL-300T) this is connected to my Airport BaseStation (one with the modem port).
I have three computers connected wirelessly, one desktop, and two laptops that are frequently out of the office.
I want to set up my network so that I can use Apple Remote Desktop and FTP. I understand I need to open some ports on the basestation, but don't know exactly how or what ones. Also, do I need to set the macs up with DCHP with a manual address, or can I leave it at just DCHP?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Port Forwarding on an apple base station comes under the 'Port Mapping' section of the airport admin setup.
I found a howto that could help you .

  • Some explanation needed

    Hi all,
I'm new for all the adobe application development.
I don't realy underestend if I can create some PDF documents  with the InDesine Script without to open the InDesign tool.
Can youi  please explain me how to do this? and if it not posible do you know with wich tool can I do this thing?
    Thanks
    Yael

    Hi Yael,
I need some explanation of your question, too.
Do you want to 'convert' InDesign-documents to PDF-files without opening InDesign?
    That is not possible.
Do you want to export PDF-files out of opened (or closed - to be opened) InDesign-documents with InDesign-application opened but without any dialog?
    That is possible.
What do you mean with 'the InDesign tool'?
Do you mean the application InDesign or the dialog to export PDF-format out of a document?

  • Explanation needed for Join rules

I try to configure the join Engine for some days now, andf probably I got something completly wrong... Here is what I try:
I have a "Participating View" (which is a NT Connector View) and a Meta View. When I enable the NT Connector View for the join engine, all entries flow from NT Connector View to the Meta View.
But when I change something in Meta View, it does not flow to the Connector View. I don't understand why.
    Settings in Participant View are:
    Attribute flow:
    to connector atomic
    to meta view: atomic
    joinrules:
    to conn: atomic
    to mv: "testruleset"
    DN mapping rules:
    to conn: atomic
    to mv: atomic
    filters:
    to conn: none
    to mv: none
    entry default ownership:
    to conn: Meta View
    to mv: Connector View
    entry default membership:
To connector: Not a member of CV
    to mv: Member of CV
    "testRuleset" has one join rule:
    1. Optional Token Assignments: <none>
    Selection Criteria: <none>
    givenname=%givenname%
As I understood the documentation, this rule should join entries, which have the same givenname.
So if I have two entries:
    in MV:
    dn: uid=test1,o=company
    givenname: jack
    sn: smith
    uid: test1
    telephonenumber: 123
    and in CV:
    dn: uid=test2,o=company
    givenname: jack
    sn: smith
    uid: test2
    mail: [email protected]
This rule should (as I read the documentation) join both entries in the MV to one entry containing a mail address an a telephone number, but it does not.
Could anyone correct tell me what part I got wrong or post a working example?
    Thanks!
    Florian

Hi, if you've just one Connector View (CV) and you want to synchronise entries from the CV to the MetaView (MV) then you need a "DN Mapping Rule". It's the purpose of the DNMappingRule to create the new DistinguishedName and entry in the target view. You do not have a DNMappingRule setup typically the rule would be something like uid=%uid% assuming uid is the RDN.
No not use Atomic where possible it's best practise to apply more control over the flow of attributes using an Attribute Flow Rule.
You don't need a Join Rule if there's only one datasource (ConnectorView) , the Join Rule is used to join entries that are split across multiple Data Sources say perhaps in Oracle and Directory Server.
    Hope this helps,
    Paul

  • Confused on Sync, Explanations Needed

Hi. On iTunes you have the option to prevent iPhones, iPad from syncing automatically (in the preferences), then you have that in the App tab when you click your iOS device on the left, in there you can click or unclick automatically sync apps which is clicked by default (wouldn't this contradict with the preference settings that you don't want it to sync automatically?) If you click in the preferences for the iPhone and iPad not to sync automatically shouldn't it unclick the one on the App tabs sync apps automatically?
Then there's apply revert button, if you apply it syncs (with the syncing in progress written on the iPhone) and then just the sync button appears but if you move from your iOS device to say the iTunes Store, it'll tell you that you have changed the settings on your iOS device which I don't believe I have because everything was being click on the iTunes. You then click ok then it syncs again (it just did before that when you click the Apply button the one at the bottom of Revert). I think sync still needs that much needed overhaul.
What settings should I click or unclick if I want to download app using the iTunes App Store, after it's downloaded I go to the iOS device in this case an iPhone 3G and the newly downloaded apps should be unchecked at the App tab section. I pick some of the newly downloaded apps check it and then I sync it. If possible I don't want the Revert and Apply buttons to appear, just the sync button to make the UI simpler. Then if I downloaded it using the iOS device like the iPhone could it just remind me that I have new apps and I may opt to back it up to the Mac using iTunes? I then pick which apps from the iPhone (it could also be other things like new contact numbers) I want iTunes to back up (coz' suppoing I'm out of time and some apps are big, I could just back up the smaller apps).
    Thank you in  advance.
    Gbu.

May be easier to put your iTunes on an external HD and carry that back & forth.

  • TelePresence endpoints - call rate explanation needed

    Hi,
I'm fairly new to TelePresence endpoints and I need some clarification regarding the call rate between endpoints.
I have a CUCM 10.5 with MX300 G2 endpoints registered and by default the call rate in all endpoints is 6000 kbps when placing a call. This will result in error when A calls B which has audio and video both ways but when A invites C for a conference there's only audio between A and C because all available bandwidth (6000 kbps.) was used between A and B.
The immediate solution is to reduce the call rate in the endpoint configuration to something lower say 1920 kbps. However if the endpoints is restarted or unregistered from the CUCM the call rate reverts back to 6000 kbps. I've tinkered with the location bandwidth settings in the CUCM but that doesn't appear what to have an influence on the call rate settings in the endpoints.
How do I permanently change the default call rate in the endpoints so it's remembered even when the endpoints are restarted or reregistered?
Thank you and have a nice day.
    /Carsten

"How do I permanently change the default call rate in the endpoints so it's remembered even when the endpoints are restarted or reregistered?"
Specify the rate in the codec itself which is found at
    Configuration/System Configuration/Conference/DefaultCall\Rate

  • Interdigit timeout , explanation needed.

Would you please clarify ,if I should wait for interdigit timeout to complete when scheme below is programmed :
    phone dials 92517295 ->
    translation pattern 9.XXXXXXX / predot , prefix +201 , urgent priority -> route pattern \+! -> gateway.
I attached configuration screenshots along with trace.
    I would greatly appreciate explanations.

the explanation for interdigit timeout in reference to call manager,
In order to allow sufficient time for a user to dial a telephone number, Cisco CallManager relies on a timer referred to as the interdigit timeout. This parameter indicates the duration Cisco CallManager waits after each digit is entered before it assumes the user has finished entering digits.
I went through the traces and see that call hitting the route pattern you created
    Thanks!
if you think you are waiting long for the call to go through, then you can reduce this timer as well

  • Difference & explanation needed urgently.

    Dear friend...
Kindly help me by giving the difference between fragmentation & Coalescing....kindly give me detailed explanation....of each
    Srinivas

It's not that the word "urgent" has an affect on us or we gte bothered by it, but we have to have the standards in the forum postings, one of them is the clear title of a thread, write a clear title of what your question is about and at the end use the word "urgent".
like Funtion to return URL. (urgent)
I'm guessing you want to return the URL of the session you have opened by forms or did Mark's suggestion solved your problem??
IF you want the session's URL you must use the GET_APPLICATION_PROPERTY built-in with the combination of CURRENT_FORM, USERNAME, PASSWORD, CONNECT_STRING.

  • Cisco Unified Incoming calls explanation needed

    Hi,
This may be a vague question, if so, let me know what other info is needed.  Basically, I was wondering how incoming calls were handled via Cisco Call Manager and Unity.  We are using Unified Call Manager version 7.1.5.  Most of our branches utilize Unity 8.0.3 System Call Handlers.  So, when a caller calls into the branch, what exactly happens?  I would think that the call comes into the router, gets redirected to the Unity server to play the System Greeting (we record our own), waits for an action from the caller, then redirects the call accordingly.  Recently, one of the other guys tried tracing the call through the router.  He saw the call come in, redirect out, come back in, then redirect out again.  This, to us, seems like two too many redirects, unless we are misunderstanding how the call is supposed to be routed.  Can anybody offer some insight?  If more information or clarification is needed, I'll be happy to add what I can (within the limitations of our security policies).  Thanks in advance!
    Gary

    Usual call flow is
    PSTN - ISR - CUCM - Unity
In CUCM you have something that matches what a user dialed from PSTN and this sends calls to Unity.
The rest of the call handling completely depends on what you have configured on Unity/CUCM.
