Have you run the Screen Calibration recently?  Prefs Icon/Touchscreen.
Do you have an old screen saver on the screen?  Try removing it.
Checked for grit caught between the screen and frame?  Use a credit card or folded piece of paper to scoop it out.

  • HTC PDA deployment problem using Mobile Module

    Hi all,
I am trying to connect my HTC PDA Kaiser (TyTN II) to a customized device using the miniUSB port. This PDA runs Windows Mobile 6, I am using Labview 8.6 (and I am using the Mobile Module - former PDA module) on Windows Vista.
However, I am having a couple of issues trying to do this. Initially I am trying to discover, if the application deployed on the PDA using Mobile Module sees the miniUSB port as a virtual COM port (or serial). This would make my job much easier.
Nevertheless, way before that,  I simply cannot deploy my application on the PDA because there are two files missing during the building process(attached file): windows.h and commctrl.lib, according to the message error.
I was trying to follow the simple tutorial on http://www.ni.com/pdf/manuals/371296d.pdf but the deployment process stops when I get this message. I installed all the necessary files (Virtual PC 2007, Windows Mobile Device Center and I think LV does the rest) and of course the mobile module. I read about the installation known issues, uninstalling Visual Studio 2008, reinstalling Labview like some of the threads suggested (http://forums.ni.com/ni/board/message?board.id=170&requireLogin=False&thread.id=132656) and still didn't work. I wouldn't go that far to reinstall Windows, would I?
I know that it might be something related to a wrong path according to the attached log error file during the C generation code, however I am still not sure what's the path supposed to be!
Does anyone could give any suggestions?
    Kind regards,
    Edgar Charry

    Hi Anna,
Thanks for the reply. Yes, it is Windows Vista 32-bit Home.
Certainly the reason is that the builder looks after these two files, that simply doesn't exist. I know it, because I looked for them, and found on the PocketPC2003 - smartphone folder (..\Labview 8.6\PDA\Utilities\VC\Smartdevices\SDK\PocketPC2003\include and lib). And the only one I can at  least emulate is indeed the PocketPC2003 SmartPhone!
So, if your emulator for the Windows Mobile 6 platform works (emulates any VI), could you please give me the correct path of the Windows Mobile 6 and also the files? Here I have: ..\Labview 8.6\PDA\Utilities\VC\Windows Mobile 6 SDK\PocketPC\Deviceemulation\Pocket_PC (and a couple of others, which are pretty much empty - no header files or libraries there, just the PNG files of the figures of the emulators). That's it.
I tried copying the lib and the include folders there, but also didn't work....
    Thanks Anna,

  • PDA Serial Problem

I am having a bit of an issue I am using LabVIEW 8.6 mobile modual and my problem is that I am trying to read from a COM port that is connected to my GPS I am getting NMEA Messages, but not all the GPS messages, I have another program running on the same port (not at the same time though) and it reads all the NMEA messages. Here is a screen shot of the code I am using that is not geting all the massages.
    PS
My program is recieving the NMEA commands one at a time and I don't want that. I want them to show up at the same time like the other program I have.

    2. Leave the username blank and type your password(if you ran the CD) or admin(default).

  • Why does not work my LabVIEW VI on PDA well? -without error message

I have a LabVIEW VI with subVI's. It works on desktop Windows very well. If I buid it for PDA , there is no error messages. When i it start on PDA, the problem seems to be on the chart. There is an Adams-Basforth Integrator subVI, and in the subVI there is a Formula Node, perhaps there is the problem. I use LabVIEW 7.1 and PDA Modul.
How can i build this LabVIEW VI for PDA perfect?

    Dear smarci
Have you tried building your VI without the SubVIs ("CLK.VI", "INT.VI" and "TIME.VI"). It would be interesting to see whether these cause the program to not execute properly.
Have you looked if your PDA's resources (i.e. RAM memory) are sufficient for you VI?

hi, im trying to use the simple bluetooth examples on the pda, i can compile and run the client  on the pda no problems but when i try running the server on the computer it just stops straight off, i thought it was the timeout but thats still at 3000 and i havent changed anything on it.

    Hi Andy,
LabVIEW will only support devices that use Microsoft's Bluetooth Stack, and unfortunatly it appears yours does not. The following list of bluetooth devices are supported by Microsoft's bluetooth stack and therefore LabVIEW:
Belkin F8T012UK1 EDR Bluetooth USB Adapter
    Belkin F8T003 Bluetooth USB Adapter - 10 Meters ( Belkin F8T003 ver. 2 don't seems to work )
Billionton GUBTCR41 - 100 m (Software included in the package not installed)
Conceptronic "Bluetooth 2.0 USB Adapter 200M" CBTU2A / CBT200U2A (Software in the package not installed)
    Dell Wireless 350 Bluetooth Module
    D-Link DBT-120 Bluetooth Adaptor
    Encore USB Dongle (Microsoft Stack)
Exwell BD-U08 EDR Bluetooth USB Adapter
Exwell BD-U01 Bluetooth USB Adapter - 10 Meters
    Kensington USB K33085 (Microsoft Stack)
GigaByte Bluetooth USB Adapter GN-BT05D (Software included in the package not installed)
Hama Bluetooth Dongle 00049207 (Software included in the package not installed). Inquiries seems to hang after a while ..
IBM Integrated Bluetooth II on ThinkPad T40 (with driver from Microsoft; file version: 5.1.2600.2180, xpsp_sp2_rtm.040803-2158)
Trust BT 1300 TP Bluetooth USB adapter (Software included in the package not installed)
Trust BT 2200 TP Bluetooth USB adapter (Software included in the package not installed) (Microsoft Stack and Widcomm)
Perfect choice USB Adapter (Microsoft Stack and Widcomm)
Sorry I can't give you a more possive resolution but unless your device is compatible with the Microsoft Bluetooth Stack it won't work I'm afraid.

  • Axim X51 and WRT54G

If someone in this forum has a DELL Axim X51 and the WRT54G v6, DO NOT install the "mandatory" firmware upgrade. I've had all kinds of trouble with my PDA once I installed this upgrade. I called linksys support and they told me that there are no issues reported so far, except mine...with PCs and a T43 that I have there was no prob.
I called DELL and they even sent me another PDA because after an extensive troubleshooting (2 1/2 hours on the phone) they conlcuded that it could be damaged. Guess waht happened when the new one arrived...the same problem.
I brought home a WRT54G v6 from a friend without the firmware upgrade and I was sailing with my PDA, no problems at all.

Great! Is there a Beta of 3.0 available? I am testing the X51 for my techs. Right now it does us no good and we have 20 AXIMs sitting in their boxes waiting for me to deploy. :) If you know where I an get a beta for 3.0 that would be great!
Do you know the name of the new client so after the first of the year I can start searching for it?

  • ICal: Page Not Found & "Published 1969"

when i emailed the link via "send announce mail", people are unable to access the calendar online. it says "page not found", even though I've just published the calendar. i sent an email to myself to verify & it did the same for me.
when i cut & paste a URL to clipboard instead, that seems to work. however, on .mac it says it was published december 31, 1969!
does anyone have any thoughts on any of these Ical problems?
    thanks.

DB, it's a shame that all you can see in my posts is "fussing". If you can see through the (admittedly) acerbic phrasing, you'll see I firstly posted to register that I had the same problem. Then I returned with a solution which the original poster found useful. Doesn't that qualify as constructive feedback?
Please let's not turn this into a mac/PC debate. There are lots of things I like and dislike about both platforms, none of which are relevant to this discussion. And let's also assume I have been "changing the oil" in this particular F150. If you're saying you think it's somehow my fault that this problem is occurring then I'd like to see your reasoning.
And yes, of course no-one's perfect. Coding is indeed difficult, and if this was a bug in a program developed by a small company with limited resources for testing, it would seem far less of an issue.
To give you some background to my take on this, I work in UI design for a major manufacturer of mobile devices, and I basically work as the bridge between the users and the software engineers. This problem with spaces causing pubishing to fail would be a major showstopper, since it's a very likely usage scenario, and there's no feedback to the user as to why it's failing.
Sure, there could be 3rd party issues here, but the key point is that the user doesn't see any of this. They are using an Apple computer, subscribing to an Apple service and sending data to an Apple server. The price to Apple of having this nice, cosy all-in-one branded feature is taking responsibility for making it work properly at every point in the chain.
    That's my perspective anyway.
Thanks again for the link - it may shed some light on the PDA sync problem I've been having.

  • Detect loss of wireless connection

GOAL : physicians in a hospital getting access to web-based JSP content through a Pocket PC browser(IE) and wireless connectivity. We already have the "normal-size" JSP pages for desktop computers and we'd like just to provide a reduced version of theses pages to browse on a PDA.
PROBLEM : Even with a well designed WLAN with good access point placement, you may experience connection loss. And it's a problem when browsing JSP pages : imagine submitting a form when you're suddenly offline : you'll get a 404 or something similar -> not serious.
QUESTION : If I port our application in the Personal Profile Xlet framework, Would it be possible to detect connection loss in an Xlet or somewhat... then it could set the rest of the app to work in a kind of degraded mode. How can we manage that ?

You could have a thread which is dedicated to managing the apparent connectivity. It connects to a well known location, if it cannot connect then you are assumed to be disconnected and the application should downgrade. The routines that handle networking should be able to fail gracefully and not generate exceptions which would terminate the program. As an example you can update your stocks whenever theres a connection but if there isn't one you can always show the value and the last time it was successfully retrieved.

  • Any alternate solution to using Waveform Chart Property Nodes 'ActPlot', 'Plot.Visible' for mulit-plot color problem on PDA?

    Hello,
On a waveform chart, 4 signals need to be plotted based on the status of 4 boolean inputs. Eg. if the first boolean input is true, the first signal needs
to be visible on the waveform chart; if the first boolean input is false, the first signal should not be visible on the waveform chart and so on. This can be
done on LabVIEW desktop using the Waveform Chart Property Nodes 'ActPlot', 'Plot.Visible' - a sample VI "BundleSignals_Select_Desktop.vi" is attached for
    reference.
But on PDA, since the Waveform Chart Property Nodes 'ActPlot', 'Plot.Visible' are not supported, some other method has to be used. I have done the
selection/de-selection of these signals using 'Insert', 'Delete' array functions as shown in the attached VIs "BundleSignals_PDA.zip" which works, but the
problem is that the colour of these signals do not work as desired when the selection/de-selection of these signals is done - It is required that the first
signal should always appear in White color, the second signal should always appear in Red color, the third always in Green color & the fourth always in Blue
    color.
I hope i have made myself clear of the problem. Has anyone faced this problem before & is there a solution?
Note: Version of LabVIEW that we are using: LabVIEW 8.5 Professional Development System for Windows Vista/XP/2000 and LabVIEW 8.5 PDA Module for Windows
    Mobile.

Unfortunately the only alternative to using property nodes is to set the properties manually on the development environement. The limited size of memory does limit us in terms of features for the module.

  • Problems to run an aplication over a PDA

    Hi there,
I have made a program to catch some information, this page has three text input boxes and one button, my problems is that the program run good over my desktop browser version, but it not working good when is running over a PDA it does not working, becouse it not accepting some javascript sentences
anybody has expereice with this kind of problems?

Yes - When I built an LV Express VI the amplitude coming out of the FFT made sense.
Problem 1 - I am getting buffer errors that I have so far solved by doing a start/acquire/stop/analyse inside the while loop.
Problem 2 - for some reason, the FFT in express always gives positive values, in PDA it has real & complex, real goes negative.
I use power spectrum and the max intensity seem a bit unrelated. Also - even on inserting a better waveform, my freuency is a bit out.

  • PDA PowerBook Sync Problem

    Hi form Australia,
I have a problem to sync my iPAQ 4150 Pocket PC with my PowerBook G4.
I am using PocketMac and I can not sync my iCal with my PDA at all. Entourage will sync but there is a time difference in the appointments (all over the place). If I add or delete an event in Entourage, on the next sync it would not be updated in my PDA. I have tried everything (and I mean it). Yes, I have tried the time zone change etc. nothing helps or it makes it even more complicated. I am syncing my iCal with Entourage at this moment using "Sync Entourage-iCall" piece of software. One thing I have noticed that after the events has been synced (iCal->Entourage) every appointment in Entourage would say "Event and the Computer Time Zones do Not Match. In Calendar Views, The Event Time Adjusted To Display Correctly".
    My Settings:
    Entourage-Time Zone: Canbera, Melbourne, Sydney
    Computer-Closest City: Sygney-Australia
    iCal-Turn on time zone support
    PDA-GMT+10 Sydney
So, what is the problem? I have tried to email PocketMac support with no response and no luck.
If any of have/had problem like mine please let us know what did you do to fix it.
    Thank you
    PowerBook G4   Mac OS X (10.4.3)

    Hi Jo,
           Thanks for the response.
By implementation of AWTEventListener (Not available in Java 1.1.8, just implemented for debug basis), I found out that, if focus is on any hidden component, key events on such component will not work. That is what was happening with our application. I was able to solve this problem after this discovery. But still problem remains in one account which now we have to put in bugs of our application.
On MI home page,  when user clicks on button to execute our application, our application opens up but still focus remains with that button on MI home page due to which key event is not firing for first time as that button now becomes hidden. I tried request focus for our application's first screen's panel when that panel is shown but still it's not working. So still problem persists only on this account. Now we will ship our application with this bug. No other go.
Hope I have not complicated the explanation....:-)

    Gopal

  • Problem related USB Virtual COM PORT using PDA module 8.2 on Windows CE

    Hi,
I am working on tranferring my application developed on LV 8.2 to a Single-board computer(SBC) running Windows CE 5.0. I am using LV PDA module 8.2 to achieve this. My problem lies in finding the port number of the Virtual COM Port on the SBC. I need to connect a USB RF modem from Maxstream to this SBC and to talk to it using VISA. I have installed the required drivers from Maxstream for converting the USB port to a virtual COM PORT. What is a way to figure out the COM PORT number on a Windows CE device? For a PC, I can see the COM PORT in the device manager but I do not know how to find this in Windows CE. . Also, I have tried using "VISA Find resource" function ..it works on a PC but I do not get anything in the Win CE device.
Any help would be much appreciated.
    -Shruti

    Shruti,
Is there a way to verify that the Maxstream driver successfully provides you with this virtual COM port? Essentially, what I mean is that if you did not have LabVIEW on this device, how does Maxstream prove that their driver is functional? Does it come with additional software that would be used to configure the USB RF modem? In any case, we would want to try opening any terminal program (like the hyperterminal) to determine what ports are listed for communication. I hope this is useful for you. Please post back when you are able to give this a try. Thanks,
    Mike D.

  • WRT600N problems setting up a home net with PDAs

    Good afternoon,
I've just bought a WRT600N and I'm having problems to configure.
    Network configuration: 4 computer wire connected;1 laptop and 2 PDAs (Ipaq hx47000 & Ipaq hx2490b);
OS: Windows XP Proffesional and PDAs Windows Mobile 5.
    Internet cable connection.
Security at 2.4Ghz. WPA-personal + TKIP and MAC filter enabled.
No activity expected at 5 Ghz.
    Problems:
    - I can't connect PDAs to Internet. Only able to connect but with some difficulties (sometimes loose connection) and always have NO Internet access.
    - I can't see network places from laptop or PDAs.
    - I can't access to web based utility from computers only from laptop.
    Steps alrady done:
    - IP reserved for each PDA' MAC address..
    - QoS disabled.
    - Beacon interval increased to 800.
Could anyone help me to fix it?. Thanks in advance.

I looked through the User Guide for both of your PDA's.  There is no mention that they support WPA encryption.   They User Guide says that they only support WEP encryption.
Unless HP (or Microsoft Windows Mobile) has released some new wireless drivers for your PDA's, it looks like they won't do WPA.
If you believe that you have the WPA drivers, then I would suggest that you first connect your PDAs using no encryption and no MAC address filtering.   If this works, then turn on only the WPA encryption.  If this works, try the MAC address filtering.
