PDA version

Can we have an automatic PDA version (low graphics version suitable for viewing with a mobile device.) of a site studio website? Both normal and PDA versions should run simultaneously.
What is the best way of making a website, Site Studio or content publisher ? Can a WML site be created using site studio?
Is there any way by which we can use site studio and content publisher together?
Please help. (Mickey, Jason, Andy, Romain , Srinath, anyone please.)

  • Display a long text of service order header in xMAM PDA version

    Hi,
I am wondering if you can tell me how long or many digits the long text of the service order header can be displayed in the PDA? or is there any restriction e.g. max 256 digits for the long text?
    Thank you
    Minh Tri

    Salut Julien,
I do not have implemented xMAM 3.0 on my PDA yet, but would like to know if I create a new notification or service order in the back-end system and add a note with more than 256 alphanummeric digits then synchronize in the PDA, will that long text appear in the PDA completely.
It is not an issue in the laptop, but could be the one in the PDA, no?
Therefore I make the question since will inform my team in case some people like to write a litte roman (in the long text field) when create a new notification/service order since they want to give more details to the field technician.
    Your promtly reply is appreciated

  • Upgraded to 8.2.1 now I have a version mismatch for the PDA module ver. 8.2

I just recieved a new laptop. I installed LV 8.2.1, then PDA module 8.2. Programs will not build. I get a "Mismatched Versions of Labview and the PDA module" error.  Help.

    Hello,
I was able to reproduce this version mismatch error on a test PC with LabVIEW 8.2.1 and PDA 8.2. This is expected behavior. Also, Matt called in on the phone, and I directed him to his internal sales representative to be shipped 8.2.1 of the PDA module.
I suspect the reason why I was not encountering this on my own PC was that I had already upgraded my LabVIEW Touch Panel Module to 8.2.1 but not PDA yet.
For all people reading this, the ultimate answer is that the PDA version number should match the LabVIEW version number.

  • Writing to serial port 1 from a PDA

ok this program is driving me NUTS! i have this microchip which uses a certain protocol... now this protocol requires that you send it some characters in hexadecimal so it'll reset... afterwhich it'll send you a data packet containing the version of the microchip etc etc (it's an aduc812... which you can find on www.analog.com)... anyway, that's not important... i am having trouble actually WRITING to serial port 1... i noticed that doing it through an actual PC requires some sort of "open serial port.vi" which is not available in the pda version... all i have is init.vi which is apparently not enough from what i am told... i thas to be opened first... initialized next... then written to then read from... does anyone know how i can acc
omplish this open procedure with the pda module? is that some sort of software i'm missing? why isn't it included with the pda module add on... etc etc... thank you in advance... i really need help with this so as much information as possible would be appreciated... let me know if you need further info...

  • XMAM3.0 Laptop and PDA together

    Hallo there!
We are facing a problem with the 2 Versions of xMAM3.0 SR4. There is a version for Laptop and one for PDA. What are the differences? i.e. filesize is identical?!?
Some employees in our company will use xMAM on a laptop and others on a PDA. So we need both versions deployed. SAP note #1046823 says:
"MAM 3.0 laptop and handheld UIs can not function correctly when both deployed on the same MI installation."
What exactly does that mean? Do we need 2 MI installations on 2 middlewares? Or does it mean, that we can't deploy the 2 versions (Laptop/PDA) on one MI client instance?
    Thanks for your replies.
    Best regards
      Reinhard

    Hello Reinhard
The difference as far as my knowledge goes is only w.r.t the UI and nothing in the underlying architecture. The laptop version makes use of the large screen available which was not to be the case in earlier versions.  The UI has been developed taking into account the SAP UI guidelines.
What the note says is that you cannot have both laptop and pda version installed on one client.  You wouldnt require 2 middlewares but just that one MI Client(say laptop) can only have laptop version of MAM installed on it and cannot have PDA version installed on it as well. So if you have laptop, just install laptop version and on PDA just install PDA version.
    Hope this helps.

  • PC suite for PDA?

Does nokia have any plans for a PDA version of PC suite?
I can pair and browse my N80 via bluetooth, but it's only a browser of the mem car and some of the device.
    Orange Handsets : Nokia 51 > NK702 (6130) > 6210 > 6310i (silver)> 7210i > 6230 > 6230i (silver) > N80 (silver) > N95-1
    T-Mobile: N96

Nokia PC Suite has a synchronise (PC Sync) application and it synchronises data between Outlook and Nokia Phone.
So make sure your data is in Outlook and then use PC Suite to sync it to your phone(s).
What I am trying to say here is that Nokia PC Suite does not carry the data itself, it moves the data between Outlook and phone.Message Edited by manta on 15-Oct-2006

  • PDA Bluetooth Windows Mobile 5

I have just finished developing a PDA application using LV PDA 8.20 for my HP iPAQ running Windows Mobile 2003. The application uses Bluetooth to communicate with a device and all runs well.
I have just ordered a new HP iPAQ running Windows Mobile 2005 and loaded my software onto it along with the 3 Bluetooth dlls required:
    BtCoreIf.dll
    BtSdkCE30.dll
    LVBtw.dll
When I run the software and try to discover devices, I get the following error: Bt Discovery Error code: 2. I have Bluetooth turned on.
Has anybody else experienced anything similar?
    Thanks
    ssk

Well, I thought I had cracked this..............!
My software now starts ok and discovers Bluetooth devices. Soon after discovering a device and the operator selecting the desired one, the software hangs.
This works fine on Mobile 2003 but not on Mobile 5.
I have recompiled the software and chosen the target device to be Mobile 5.
I have read bits and pieces about extra software being installed for Mobile 5. I have installed EVC 4.
    PDA version is 8.20
I cannot see anyway of changing the processor type in the build definition, it defaults to ARM. My iPAQ hx2100 has a PXA270 (is this ARM compatible as far as LV is concerned?).
    Any help gratefully received!

  • Labview pda 8

Is there a PDA version 8 out? if not how well does Labview 8 work with Labview PDA 7.1?

LabVIEW 8 for PDA should be released in the next few weeks. right now,
the only "8" version products that have been released are LabVIEW and
DAQmx. The rest are on the way.
The 7.1 PDA module will not work with LabVIEW 8.
Unfortuately, we have to patient and wait. I'm waiting for RT, FieldPoint and FPGA myself.

  • What operating systems is recommende for PDA device and for laptop?

    Hi Gurus,
What operating system and which version is best for  run the SAP MI applications in PDA and in the laptop?
    Thanks in Advance,
    Dharani

    Hi,
if you run MI on Laptop. it is necessary to have Java vailable. so any OS with Java should work, Windows XP is recommended. Vista will work as well in latest versions of MI. On PDA: use WinCE operating System. In latest version of MI WinCE 6.0 Professional is supported - not the MobilePhone version, only the PDA Version.
See MI PAM for more and uptodate details.

  • Incomplete Data on Desktop

    Hi! Everyone
We are working wit MAM 25 SR5 SP21.
We do have the following parameters  set on the MobileEngine.config file:
    MobileEngine.Sync.RepetitiveSyncEnabled=true
    MobileEngine.Sync.MaximumNumberOfRepetitiveSyncs=10
    MobileEngine.Sync.TimeBetweenRepetitiveSyncs=1000
We do use this parameters for both PDA and Laptops.
On PDA we sync only once and we get the synchronization process successfully complete. (First time and second time,  third time, .......... and always)
BUT on portatil we do have to try the sync process many times. I t is not constant. Firs time of sync process the data comes ok with only once sync process. But after frist synchronization process,  when we need to sync again we have to try the sync process more than once some times I have tried 8 times in order to get new data.
I have change the maximumNumberOfRepetitiveSync to 50 and to 100 but I got error.
Can anyone tell me how can I set the right parameters in order to get a complete synchronization process ? The best option would be if I can have only one set parameter for both PDA and Portatil.
    Thank you very much
    Xiomara

    Hi Xiomara,
if I read this - do you have the same MEREPMETA.XML file in PDA and Laptop? We know there is a different MAM version for Laptop and for PDA available. You can run the PDA version on Laptop as well - so while it is working on the PDA as you said, could you please check if it makes a difference in the sync, if the PDA version is used on the Laptop?
From your findings I would expect, that even you set the repetitive sync to a very high number, it does only run one time. Set the trace level on the PDA to all and check the log file after the sync You can see how often the Laptop syncs after you pressed the button. I think it will tell you it runs only one time.... This means either the SyncBOs on the Laptop are not set to Synchronous, or you have a simple misstiping of the repetitive parmeters on the Lapop.
Please check, if both things are correct we can look a little deeper into the issue - but I would expect that one of these two things causes your problem.
But anyway: going Larisses way will cure the problem from the other side - cause the data is prepared already in theoutbound queue and with the next sync the data coes down to the device. Only problem: you need to run the distributor before you sync and this will not solve the first issue in my understanding of the process.
    Hope that helps!

  • Labview exe on Win CE

    Hi,
I have developed an application and made a .exe (LV - 7.1 PDS)+ installer, the OS is Win XP. Now, I also have an ARM processor with WinCE OS running on it. Will my LabVIEW application run on it, agreed that I have install the runtime engine. In the first case, will I be able to install the LV Run time engine.

You seemed to have answered your own question. A exe is specific to an OS and a processor. When you compiled the C#.Net app, you chose as a target the Winc CE with ARM processor. You would choose a different target if you compiled it for Windows. LabVIEW is a compiler as well. With LabVIEW for windows only, you only have a single target - windows with an Intel or compatible processor. To compile to a different processor or OS, you need a version of LabVIEW for that processor or OS. For Windows CE, you need to buy the LabVIEW for PDA version. If you wan't an exe for the Mac, you would need LabVIEW for Mac.

  • How to install Laptop UI for xMAM 3.0

    Hi All,
We are implementing xMAM 3.0 and devices are going to be Laptops. I know about the PDA UI (Mobile Client Frame Work) installation. How and where can I get the Laptop UI files. Is procedure same for PDA UI and Laptop UI or different. Please advise me.
    Regards,
    Ameer.

    Hi Ameer,
both laptop and PDA versions  (as separate files) of MAM are delivered by SAP via service marketplace.
Customer enhancement concepts, in general,  are the same but UI is different - different  libarary (SAP Portal look-and-feel) of UI tags is used. As a result PDA and laptop clients look very difefrent, even though processes, business logic, database layer are shared.
Also Laptop version has a new tool, called JSP tool callled JSP Generator (code and documentation included in laptop MAM package) that is used to create jsps from xml file. Essentially all standard jsps are build with this tool, and when application is enhanced it should be used to change existing or creating new customer specific jsps.

  • N91 Browser Memory

Basically my N91 WEB BROWSER will not let me open a full internet page saying "memory low" then stops the page I have changed the message memory to the HD and transfered all the files to my HD, but still the phone memory says 10 Mb in use 3644kb free and i cannot find any more room to free up, all the install files have been deleted and apps have been installed on Hd,
    Can anyone help me
Give me the knowledge to change that which i can and the money to upgrade that which i cant.

Any page or is it a problem only with some particular page or pages?
If only on some specific pages, then maybe it simply is too big to fit the available, free memory (the phone cannot use storage disk space as an extension to physical memory like a PC can).
You could request the site designer/owner to redo their site in a more resource-limited device fashion, or see if they already have a text-only or "PDA" version of the site.

  • Help: MAM 3.0 UI Generation Tool (JSP Generation)

    Hi folks!
I need your help. I'm getting started with developing in xMAM 3.0.
I've read through OKP Learning Maps and MAM Enhancement Guides.
I've found in every documentation that I've to use the MAM UI Generation Tool.
Now i tried an get a lot of error codes.
Can everyone help me? I didn't found any guide to this topic.
I've to know the right usage of this tool.
    Thanks in advice.
    Best Regards
    Matthias

    Hi Matthias,
MAM3.0 has two distinctive versions: PDA and laptop.
If you project is to do enhancements for PDA version you don't need JSP Generator tool.
If you need to enhance laptop version: you still have a choice - either to modify standard pages manually and/or write your own JSPs or use the tool to genearate modified or new pages.
generation is obvioulsy easier so JSP Generator can be handy.
There is a document which is called MBS_MAM_30_Generator_Guide.doc but I couldn't find links to it.
I would advice you to open OSS message to MAM componnet and request this document.
    It has all the info.
As for the errors that you get while using the tool - you need to give more details if you want people to help with localising them.
    Cheers,
    Larissa Limarova
