Dear all,
I have PLL which was developed in forms-6i. Later i have converted it to Forms-9i version by compiling it in FORMS 9i.
It was working fine. But today while i tried to open the file in FORMS9i its giving a problem
PDE-PLI018 Could not find library.
Any help in this regard is highly appreciated.

Be sure that you haven't run out of disk space for the TEMP directory and that you have write privileges on it. Also, if the library you were trying to open has another library attached, be sure that it still exists in the correct path.

Hi,
I am trying to migrate form 6i into forms 10g, for this I had to change libraries which are build up in forms 6i,for this i have open two libraries i.e SF4LIB.PLL and ACLOG.PLL. in Forms 10g developer Suite, SF4LIB.PLL is opened easily and compiling while opening ACLOG.PLL I am getting error message: PDE-PLI018 could not find library SF4LIB.PLL.
I had also made changes in the FORMS_PATH.
Can anybody share their ideas in resolving this error.

Pde-pli018 Error opening library in 9ids

I am converting 6i .pll files to 9i but when I try to open it in Forms 9i is says it can't locale a library attached to the library I try to open. I've already define my ORACLE_PATH and FORMS90_PATH and my temp file in my PC but it still gives me PDE-PLI018 and I can't open it. Any solution?

Another try is to search your computer and find all the copies of that library, remove them. then use your forms9i builder library node to open the original libray code and compile it and save it to the path pointing folder.
drop the previous attached library node, and reattched it.
then try to run.
I did this many times as I need to revise the library file, then it sometimes always calling the original copy, even though I reattach it. then I kill all the compiled copies in my PC, then compile only one brandnew copy there, then it works.

PDE-PLI018 PLL Error

Hi All,
I have installed Dev suite 10g in Vista. I was able to run Forms and reports.
I tried to create a new pll. I was allowed to create procedures and functions. when i tried to save it i got PDE-PLI018 error.
For the past two days i searched in the forum and did the changes as per the forum advice but nothing went positive.
Work arounds i tried as follows
1. Checked the Environment Variable set in Windows. Pointed this directory to a folder where i have all rights.
2. Deleted all the files in the afore mentioned path and tried.
3. Tried saving in different path.
4. Tried saving in Forms_path (Regedit) folder.
all the above work arounds did not help. Could any body help in this regard please.
Why i am not getting any update? Am i missing something or should i post it under different thread?
Your help is highly appreciated. Please Help.

Azeem, Yep, i do have write permission in the directory where i am trying to save. Secondly i am not opening a existing PLL i am trying to write a new file. Hence the question of opening the pll in Windows explorer is ruled out. But i thank You for your suggestion.

Can not open PLLs on Forms Builder 10g

Hi Folks,
everytime I try to open an existing PLL-File via the Forms Builder FileOpen-Dialog I have got the message
    PDE-PLI018 Couln not find library
    Drive:\Path\LibName.pll
Pressing the OK-Button returns to the FileOpen-Dialog. The selected FileType in the Dialog take effect to the filelist but nothing else.
Note that the file exists and I select it from the Filelist!
About Forms Window shows the following:

While converting from 6i to 10g it is unavoidable to convert forms and libraries, so please help me!
PS: I can recompile forms with attached libraries if the PLX-Files (6i) are available, but the forms will not work with these PLX-Files.

I tried to generate a new library. This works fine until I saved it. After naming the library and pressing the save button in the dialog the pll file was created and the same error message appears.
I closed form builder and tried to reopen the library: same error.
I generated another new library and save this by selecting the first new I generated. Jippee! I get the message that the file already exists! I selected "overwrite" and the file was overwritten. After that the same error appears.
How can I (re)open PLL files? It is no solution to generate a new library overwriting the old one everytime some changes should made.
Trying to build the library (Ctrl+T) produces another error:
    FRM-91507: Internal Error: Unable to generate library.
Compiling (Ctrl-Shift-K) works fine.

there's no user except of me on the pc and server (I'm working via rdp-client on a virtual server), no server and no oc4j task or instance started. The one and only program that runs is forms builder. The error occurs if I just try to open a pll file via the file open dialog of forms builder.
With my admins we found that forms builder creates a (temporary) file (e.g. s22o without extension with 827392 bytes) in c:\ but only if I'm the actual user. After I'm getting the permission to create and update files on c:\ forms builder was able to open pll files. Now we're trying to find out why this accurs only on my login. With other users we tried these file was created on F:\ which is the personal drive of the user. I'm only wondering about the fact that temporary files were not created in the TEMP folder defined by the TMP or TEMP environment variable.
So we solved this unusual problem in an unusual way.

Weblogic 10.3.5 with oracle forms and reports 11.1.2.1.0

I am new to 11g concept (actually web based, have worked till 6i) and trying to upgrade my existing system (6i) to 11g. I have installed Weblogic 10.3.5 with forms and reports 11.1.2.1.0 on windows 7 32 bit. I can connect to my database (10g) from Form builder.
But when I try to open a form/pll of 10g or 6i, it says PDE-PLI018 could not find library and it shows the path of my earlier folder, which now does not exist.
I have made changes in registry FORMS_PATH, FORMS_BUILDER_PATH, UI_ICON
And in default.env file FORMS_PATH and CLASSPATH
I have added entry to tnsnames.ora, through which I can connect to DB. And have followed below site to configure weblogic and FM forms and reports;

I have few doubts in my mind;
1) Do we have to connect (create a bridge) to DB from weblogic except tnsnames.ora.
2) For library error I think I am missing some settings to be done.
3) If I am able to rectify above error then can I directly use http://localhost:8888/forms/frmservlet and access the system from another pc, or still there are some modifications needed.
I am trying this from last 3 days, but couldn't find the solution, kindly help me out for same, eagerly waiting for your reply.

FRM-41830 error when opening zoom form

Hi All,
I am facing a strange issue.
We are using ZOOM functionality. Now I need to make some changes to the existing CUSTOM.pll file. The CUSTOM.pll is in our $CUSTOM_TOP/resource. The CUSTOM.plx file is placed in $AU_TOP/resource. I have taken backup of the CUSTOM.pll and plx file. I have made the changes and compiled in Middle tier from $AU_TOP/resource path.
Once I open the application and click on ZOOM button, I am receving FRM-41830 error. Once I click ok, the ZOOM form is opened and could see the LOV details and the subsequent process is working fine.
To test, I have replaced the backup CUSTOM.plx file and the issue is not reinstated.
There is CUSTOM.pll file in $AU_TOP/resource, but it is a seeded copy and do not contain any of our custom logic.
I am confident that the .pll file in $CUSTOM_TOP is the source.
As another test, I have renamed the CUSTOM.pll in $AU_TOP/resource and tried compiling. I received the below error :*PDE-PLI018 Could not find library CUSTOM*. Once I undo the renaming, the compilation was successfull. Does it mean that Custom.pll in $AU_TOP/resource is being mapped?
Command used is:
f60gen Module=$CUSTOM_TOP/resource/CUSTOM.pll Userid=APPS/xxxx Output_File=$AU_TOP/resource/CUSTOM.plx Module_Type=LIBRARY compile_all=special
Can anyone help me in resolving the issue.

FRM-41830 error is "List of values contains no entries" - what changes have been made to CUSTOM.pll ?

Cannot open library files(.pll) in 10G

Hi,
When I try to open or create a library file in 10g I get PDE-PLI018 Could not find library error. I can open or create fmb file though.
I could not create or open in Forms 10 g. 9.04 and again in Forms 10g 10.1.2 version. Operating System XP.
Edited FORMS_PATH by adding the location of .pll files.
Edited default.env varible adding the location of .pll files.
Modified environment variable to C:\Temp for Temp and Tmp both.
Modified Report_tmp in the registry to c:\temp
Modified Forms_Path in the registry added the location of the plls and fmbs.
Also get the following error when I try to save the forcefully created .pll file twice
Rebooted the pc.
Oracle Forms Designer has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience......

Are you in the Oracle Forms Builder or Oracle Designer when this error occurs?
There are several possibilities. Here are a few:
1. You are trying to read/write the pll to a network share. Ensure that you the files are stored locally.
2. For the Builder (design time), the FORMS_PATH must be set in the Registry or in a batch file if you use one to start the Builder. The total length of all entries in FORMS_PATH should not exceed 1024 (recommended, however that it remains under 512)
For runtime (in a browser), the same setting and rules apply expect the entry is made in default.env
3. If you have more than one version of the Builder installed on the machine, ensure that the system PATH reflects the version you are using as first in the list.
4. The installation may have been corrupted.
5. Be aware that the correct environment variable for 9.0.4 is FORMS90_PATH and the correct variable for 10.1.2. is FORMS_PATH
6. Once opened and re-saved in 10.1.2, you will not be able to open in an older version.

Unable to compile .pll in Unix environment

Yea I have all the reference to the library.
Basically what I am doing is
1.making few changes to .pll file
2.ftping the file to unix enviroment
3.from unix prompt,I am typing the following statment to compile the .pll file
f45gen MENU.pll userid=scott/tiger module_type=LIBRARYthis above statement fails to compile and returns the error message 'PDE-PLI018- could not find library PMS_MENU.pll'

Forms 9i under Windows XP needs Administrator Priviledges

I have installed iDS 902 (for Forms9i) on a WinXP Pro (SP1) Client with a Windows 2003 Server.
I log onto the client machine using a service user account and the Forms/Libraries are all held on a network share.
The Forms open ok but ALL the libraries fail to open (get a PDE-PLI018 error - "cannot open the file").
If, however, I log onto the Client as a local administrator I can access the files just fine.
Is this something to do with my access as a domain account user on the client? - I don't really want to be a local administrator, I would just like my network login to work.
In addition to this, I am unable to run the Forms as I cannot start the OC4J Forms service (but I can if I am logged in as administrator on the local client).
Sorry if this is a bit of a basic post, but I couldn't find any answers here or on metalink.

I have solved the problem by making the user a member of the domain administrators group which is an administrator on the local machine.
This seems a bit overkill for each developer to be an administrator ...

Oracle Forms 4.5 conversion to 6i help

we are doing conversion from oracle 4.5 to 6i
so first we should convert libraries to 6i. After I converted some of libraries files I am getting an error saying that libraries not find ('that is another library name that i already converted).
is there any idea

Can not find library error

Forms 9.0.4.0.19
I put FORMS_PATH in default.env file to point to all the plls.
When opening a pll I am getting
PDE-PLI018 Could not find library FNDSQF
Just in case I also created env var FORMS_PATH to point to the same place. Doesn't work either.What am I missing?

I thought may be you help me with the next error tjhat I am getting now - PDE-PEP006 Encoded Program Unit has an unknown format.
The thing is that the custom.pll that I need to make a change to was last developed with Developer 10G Forms Builder 10.1.2 (as I was told).
I downloaded Developer 10G from OTN last week, installed, but the forms builder version there is 9.0.4.
So I guess that may be a problem, I wonder I can get the right one on if there is any workaround.

Problems opening custom.pll

hi all
i am trying to open the custom.pll
i have downloaded the custom.pll from the $au_top/resourse folder from the server
but when i try to open the file
it gives me an the following error
PDE-PLI018 Could not find library
followed y the path onthe server and appcore.pll file
i downloaded the appcore.pll
but still it gives me the same error
what are the files that i need to download so that i can open the custom.pll

Check your FORMS60_PATH setting in your local PC (using regedit).
The directory contained in FORMS60_PATH should consists of the *.pll that you copied from $AU_TOP/resource.

It says "PDE - PLI018 Couldnot find library SCSFIN". So i copied the SCSFIN and FNDSQF files in client machine and opened the FNDSQF FIle successfully.
After i tried to open the SCSFIN.pll, it is saying "PDE - PLI018 Couldnot find library FNDSQF"
Please help me with this error.

Hi ,
Saving a library (.pll) to database would store the object inside specific tables that are to be created.
If you are using 6i, then you should find toolbild & toolgrnt.sql files which you have to run in the order specified. The above scripts creates the necessary tables and henceforth you won't get those errors while saving.
