I have been asked to send a pdf photo by email. How do I pdf a photo?

select the photo and print - select the paper size and print size and click print - in the lower left click "PDF" and make the selection you want

When I send a newsletter as a pdf the photos are blurry.

When I send my newsletter made with Pages as a pdf the photos all look very blurry. I tried larger size files and same problem. I sent the original template with the Apple default photos and they are blurry as well. I've only looked at them on our two computers, both Macs. I size my photos no larger than 800 pixels on the longest side @72dpi. I have received a pdf newsletter made with Pages from someone else, and the photos look fine.

Are you using the shadow tool in your document ?

Pdf with photos brightened

Hi all,
we have a problem with photos and a pdf generated with a pdf report generator (JasperServer).
This pdf contains photos and data, but some photos in pdf are brightened than original.
The photos, before being inserted in the report, are transformed by ImageMagick in correct rendition (1000x1000) and then inserted in report by JasperServer.
In final pdf, some photos are brighter than originals.
I append 3 screenshots.

This visualization of brightened images appears opening pdf in Adobe Reader, Okular...but not in Chrome for example (in screenshots we opened the image in Chrome, but if we open the pdf we have the same result for Chrome).
The problem does not seem to be related to the size of the image, but we aren't able to understand why it appears.
Has anyone had similar problems?
Can you suggest special checks to be done?

Send pdf or photo via email and mailboxes configured via profile configuration (iPCU)

We have bought 2000 ipads, and have pushed a profil config file to them.
In this profile, we configured exchange mailboxes for each users. It works fine, BUT, when we tried to send a pdf or photo file from IOS menu, it tells me that there is no mailbox configured on it and bring me to the menu to configure one and I can check that the mail box is configured on it !!
Please help, it is urgent and can affect the project....

Thanks for the response but I think you missed the point here. I am using different output types for RFQ and PO as well as different custom smart forms and we are using the same custom print program to generate output for both.
The issue is with the print program and not the output type as I mentioned that I have already got this thing working on our IDES using the standard print program and standard forms.
Tomas Talpa's response seems to be helpful. I'll get my technical consultant to amend the code accordingly and see if it works.

When I print a pdf, it cuts some photos and captions in half at the page breaks. How can I fix this with Acrobat?

Press pdf's photos look low res

I wrote a press pdf of an Indesign file that incorporated photography. It looked great as usual. But I imported the same content for a resize and wrote a new press pdf and the photo part of the pdf looks very low resolution. I reimported the photos and tried again. But now I'm at a loss. Anyone help please?

After successfully writing(exporting) a press pdf of an ad created in Indesign. I copied the Indesign's file content to another Indesign file with a slightly different size. I wrote another press pdf of the new Indesign file and the photography (on the new pdf) looks horribly low res. But nothing about the photos changed except they're slightly (5%) smaller. No new settings in either program (Acrobat or Indesign) So I have one press pdf that looks brilliant and the other like a zerox copy. I can't figure out why. Never happened before. Type looks great, border rules look great. Everything but the photography.
I'll explore using the object inspector as you suggested. But I doubt it'll tell me why the photos look great in one pdf and not the other. When nothing should have changed.

Export PDF into photo library on iPhone

Does anyone know of an app or hack to send a PDF file to iPhone's photo library, whether it be an application from App.store or cydia? Can't understand why this hasn't been developed due to the fact it can be sent through MMS faster and messages relayed back quicker than mail.

As far as I know, third party apps do not have access to the photo library.
There are apps that allow for storage of docs via wi-fi.
Discussion of "hacks" is not permitted here.

Is there a way to convert an interactive PDF of photos into a file that plays like a video?

I have a PDF with music created through InDesign, but Acrobat only allows the pages to self-turn if played in full view mode. This cannot work on a website. So, is there a way to convert this PDF into a "video" such that the pages turn automatically, like what Apple Iphoto does when you create an album or slideshow or book - it allows for a "video" of the imags to be created, with backdrop of music?

Pdf,word,photo files will not load on Iphone5

Out of nowhere in the last day, I can not open any excel,word,or pictures sent in email or text messages. I have checked settings and could not find anything there. It is very aggravating as I have to use Quickoffice on files now to open. Any suggestions??? Thanks

If "iCloud Photo Library" is ON, try turning it off as well as "My Photo Stream". Reset the iPhone then turn My Photo Stream back on (but leave iCloud Photo Library off, for now). See if that helps.

Problem at save card to pdf in Photo

Hi all!
Please help me to solve this problem, I created a card in iphoto 11 (please check my image as below)
then I chose print/ save as pdf but pdf file is completely different than the one I created in iphoto. I don't know how to print out the card look exactly like the one in iPhoto. Could anybody show me what wrong in my process and how to do it? Because I live in Vietnam, so it's hard to order card from Apple (or impossible).

You're using the Pink Confetti themed letterpress cards where the design is on the card and not printed on it. That's why you can't print what you see in iPhoto. Use one of the other types of themes, folded or flat, and you'll be able to print what you see to the card stock.

Photos in pdf opened using Adobe Reader 9 show as empty rectangles.

Photos in pdf show as empty rectangles. What do I need to do to view the photos? I use Adobe Reader 9.

Page Display Preferences/Page Content and Information already showed/s "show large images". The pdf with photos comes from a website (http:) so there is no "edit" to select, but right clicking on the page gives the "page display preferences".

Indesign CS3 export to PDF shows a fog/low contrast layer on photos

When I export an indesign CS3 file to pdf the photos seem to cover up with a fog/low contrast layer once loaded. Does anyone else have this problem? Is there a solution? anything i'm doing wrong!!!

I have managed sort it out. Its just a matter of changing the colour profile to the desired one. cheers steve. i will next time!!

Unable to email photos and .pdfs

help!
I am unable to email photos from iPhoto, .pdfs, and photos others forward to me from Mail.
I have tried repairing permissions, moving the mail out to the hard drive and reopening, cursing, and other ineffectual things.
The photos and documents will email successfully from other computers using Mail .
Any ideas?

so you set up a new user in system prefs- accounts? - not just a new mail account, right?
well hopefully the problem lies within your mail preferences file - do the following ( carefully!) to force mail to rebuild it, yet retain your messages. Your display settings will need setting again, but messages & rules should remain. You'll backup your mail first, so if anything goes wrong, you can get right back to where you are now.
If you have more than one or two mail accounts ( the account details will all need entering again) - you might look for an alternative fix before doing this.
Make sure you have a note of your mail account(s) details - incoming/outgoing servers, password, username etc . ( I guess you're ok with this, having set up a new user?).
Quit Mail
In Finder, navigate to home/library
locate the 'Mail' folder & alt-drag a copy to the desktop ( a green + sign should show that you're making a copy; not moving the original.
locate the file 'com.apple.mail.plist' in home/library/preferences. Drag this file to the desktop ( no alt this time - you want to move the original).
Open mail - you'll be asked for your account details - enter them exactly as they were before.
set up extra accounts when prompted ( if you had more than one)
You should find all your mail & mailboxes are there - open a few emails just to be certain.
Before changing any mail display/layout settings - test mail to see if your problem is fixed now.
If it's working fine - you've finished & the .plist file you moved to the desktop can be trashed.
I would advise keeping the copy of the Mail folder somewhere safe, & making a new copy as often as you like - preferably on another drive or CD/DVD disk. Then if Mail or your HD go nutso - it's possible to get all your mail back.
Let me know if this works - either way I'll make another post so you know how to restore your mail folder & settings if it didn't work, or if one day you need to use the backup to recover your mail & settings.

Missing photos on PDF preview dust cover

After assembling a hard cover book and previewing the PDF the photos on the dust cover front and back are missing. I really need to order the book today. Thx

You are missing one or more photos - youprobably have a page background that requires a photo which is behind a page with photos on it - all pages must either have a photo or be a color - if you have a gray background it requires a photo - look through the book carefully and be sure to look at the background on any full page photos - you will find one or more missing photos
