PDF and Web Stats

Hello,
I would like to know where can I find the statistics of opening PDF files on my webpage.
For example: MY PDF FILE. When I use GA it tells my a lot of informations, but not what I want about this stats.
Any clue?
Regards.
Peter.

This has nothing to do with Adobe Reader. You might ask in the Web Design forum if there is a way to design webpages do this data is available.

  • Client Selection Ability Option in PDF and Web Galleries

A great improvement for the output section of Bridge would be for selection ability in PDF and Web Galleries.
I can send clients a pdf or web gallery that has a checkbox for each image. My clients would be able to check the images they want and click submit.
It would be easier then to taylor fees on a per image basis.
I would love to hear from other photographers to see if they think having the selection ability option could help speed up the workflow.
    Thanks.

This would be a feature sorely needed by the otherwise great galleries.  I wonder if any third party has modified a script or something for this?

  • Brothers 5070N won't print some pdf and web pages

Every once in a while my Brothers printer just will not print pdfs or Web pages. One of the more frustrating culprets is Mapquest. I get a small grey box with some random error codes. Is the answer more memory? I have not added any memory since buying this normally great little printer a few years back.

Is there anything in Concole or the CUPS log (/var/log/cups/error_log)? It could be a font problem, but one of the places above should have some indication.
    Hope this helps.

  • Web Reporting - Converting HTML to PDF and displaying

Does any know of a method to convert the html data stream to a PDF format so it may be returned to the browser for printing?

i created an Help Service which can convert the current Web Application State to Pdf and it displays it automatical in the browser window. Charts and all the other stuff is also converted.
This is only on-top of a complex PDF Framework which offers features you request for example.
Batch support. Load balancing. Stylesheet support. Report Books. There are Convenience Classes in ABAP which support Template ID in PDF-Bytestream out. Sent PDF as mail. publish to Portal. Information Broadcasting integration etc.
the advatnage of this solution is that the conversion is performed on the Server and not on the client which means you need only one license, and not for each client...
    i hope this helps.
    best regards.

  • Open and print a PDF from web

I created an application to open a PDF and print it directly on the default printer. This application works if the file is a Windows' network address (example: \\192.168.0.4). But if I put an internet address (URL), the Acrobat Reader presents the following error:
There was an error opening this document. The syntax of the name of the file, folder or name of the volume is incorrect.
    The command I'm using is:
    "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Reader 9.0\Reader\AcroRd32.exe\" /t http: \\192.168.0.4:8082\test\file.pdf \\192.168.0.15\HPLaserJet
There are print directly as a URL?

You need a Smartform, SAPScript, or AdobeForm to be defined for your output.  Define an action/method for print, then pass the data to your Form.  SmartForms are not bad, as SmartForms generate a Function Module, and are easy to call.
Call the SmartForm Function with PDF output = 'X' (parameter within Output Control I think).  Then pass the PDF_DATA[] table (type = TAB_SOLIX) to a new window output .
Don't have the code in front of me, but have done it several times.
Adobe Forms is another good option, but you need Adobe Server, and generally I have found ADOBE to be SLOOOOOWWWWW.  I think Steve Jobs might have been on to something with ADOBE -- just my opinion.
And of course, it can be done with SAPSCript, but I would need a whole blog on how to do that.....

  • How do I convert a word document into a pdf and then upload it to a web site

How do I convert a word document into a pdf and then upload it to a web site so people can read it from my
site with Dreamweaver 4?. How can I do this? Can anyone please help? I'm only a newbie. Thanking you in anticipation.

First you need to install a means of printing to pdf from word.  I like cutepdf writer ( http://cutepdf.com/Products/CutePDF/writer.asp ).  Once installed you will print the doc in word and under the printer selection you choose pdf.
Once you have the file you put it in your local site folders and upload it using Dreamweaver.  Be sure to link to it from a page so users can get to it and I would recommend giving the link a target of _black so it will open in a new window (see the properties inspector in DW).

  • Installed Pro 9 and Reader 9 now cannot open pdf from web, but can from an email?

Installed Both Adobe Acrobat 9 professional and reader 9 yesterday on co worker machine. Went to open a pdf attachement in email no problem. Went to web to download and open a pdf and will not let her, giving co worker the error message need reader 8 or 9 to open this document!
have unistalled 9 reader and reinstalled same problem.
So then uninstalled reader 9 and can now open pdf from the web
My machine has both on and no problems.
    Thank YOU for your help!!

It may be that you will need to uninstall Reader and Repair Acrobat after the uninstall. Adobe does not recommend the installation of both products. Since you have already done the uninstall and things work fine with just Acrobat, leave things alone as that is the recommended installation.

  • PDF-stacks on Android and web viewer?

When is Android Viewer going to support PDF-stacks? When it happens, the ipad-folios can be recycled on Android-tabs, and the iphone-folios on android phones.
And what about the web viewer? We would love using the sharing-functionality, but the lack of pdf-support will force us to use png instead of pdf.
Any chanche of solving this soon?

The unavailabilty of PDF support in Android is the only reason we do not publish to Android devices. Most of our customers are not ready to spend hundreds or thousands of dollars to re-author a print layout for a digital device. Makes a lot more commercial sense to just publish the print layout to digital for now. That works fine on iOS because we can publish as PDF and readers can Pan & Zoom the content. With no DPS PDF support for Android you end up with an un-zoomable page which is frankly unreadable.

  • Performance, minimum bandwidth, thumbnail previews for PDF and InDesign Files with web content viewer

    Hi,
We are considering using DPS with a web content viewer for large PDFs and/or InDesign files. The client using a web viewer might have very limited bandwidth (some as low as 256Kbps). We ask:
1 - How well does the web viewer perform with very large PDFs and InDesign files  (500 MB+) with limited bandwidth? Does the file stream in chunks and the PDF shows as soon as the first page or two are available, with the rest loading in the background, or does the entire file come down in one part and then shown?
2 - Can PDF and InDesign files support thumbnail previews? For example, one image per PDF page and user can scroll forward and back.
Your thoughts and comments are greatly appreciated.
    Thanks!
    -Stephen

    Hi Stephen,
The way the web viewer works is that it converts the PDF/InDesign files to PNGs along with additional HTML assets. Assets are downloaded as they’re ready for a given page (e.g. first, page 1 is filled with its assets as they become available, then page 2, etc), so a reader wouldn’t need to wait for the entire article to load. The next few pages are also loaded in the background, so the reader wouldn’t be likely to notice lag as they flipped through pages to the next page after reading the current one. So the lag will depend on the size of an individual page.
For your question around thumbnails, the web viewer does not load a preview image so the reader would need to wait for the assets I described above to load.
    Hope this helps...

  • PDF files email and web sites

What app do I need to upload a PDF file to a web site? Trying to upload my resume to a job search site. And how do I attach more then one PDF file an email at one time?

    Hi Christian,
I've had problems for ages with this but I did notice that after I went through the reinstall with Apple yesterday I now have a couple of different options that are working.
Yesteday I uninstalled reader, restarted my computer and then reinstalled again. I didn't think it had worked for me but after some extra experimentation I have discovered a couple of things.
    On some websites eg: https://www.gatewaycu.com.au/uploadedFiles/PDF/Forms/Quick%20Debit%20Authority.pdf
it is coming up with a toolbar (I suppose it's called) at the top of the PDF and it is allowing me to print and save to my desktop, open the pdf and print YEAH.
Also with another website the PDF is showing up differently. eg http://media.wix.com/ugd/99e891_6110f024d956431abb7b66dd24f19251.pdf
This shows up like it used to but the difference is that if you try to save as or print throught the safari options like I used too it doesn't work, BUT if you hover down the bottom of the PDF it brings up a bar type box (sorry I don't know the technical word for this) then you can print, save to desktop, documents etc and then print from there too.
YEAH! It looks like (I hope) that the problem is solved. You have to go about it in a couple of different ways depending on the website, but hey, I don't think that's so bad as long as I can actually print my PDF's. It's better that not being able to access any of them which is what's been happening for the last few months.
I hope this helps you guys out and if you have any problems just let me know and I'll try and explain it better for you.
    Cheers
    Andrea

  • How can I convert a word file into a pdf and then upload to a web site?

I need to convert a word document into a pdf and then upload it to a web site so people can read it from my
site. How can I do this? Can anyone please help? I'm only a newbie. Thanking you in anticipation.

    Hi there,
There's actually an easy streamlined way to do this using Acrobat.com. Here are the steps:
    1. Log in to Acrobat.com with your Adobe ID.
    2. On the left, you'll see a navigation menu that includes the item "Import and Edit". Click that.
    3. Choose the .doc (Word) file you want to convert and upload it to Buzzword.
    4. After making sure that it looks the way you want it to, go to the top menu (still in Buzzword now, not the organizer where all your files live) and click the document menu. There will be an option to "Export" - choose that.
    5. When prompted to select filetype, choose "Adobe PDF" and press OK.
    6. It'll save to your desktop, so now you have to get it into your acrobat.com organizer. To do that, close the Buzzword document by clicking the little "x" in the upper right corner, under the Sign Out button. This'll get you back to your organizer, where you can choose "Import" from the left nav menu again. This time choose your new PDF file.
    7. Select the  file icon in the organizer and click the Share button. Or, select Share  from the file context menu.
    8. Select Allow Anyone With A  Link To Share This Document to set the document to open access, and then  click Copy Embed Code. The necessary HTML code to embed the preview is  copied onto the clipboard.
    9. Open the HTML file and paste  the code into the file. The Flash previewer can display any file type  that you can convert to PDF.
Hope this helps! Good luck, and let us know how it works out.
    Rebecca
