PDF appears in zoomed out view-how do I get it to appear at 100% view?
I received a pdf from a client.
They want me to upload it to a link in Adobe Muse. When I do the pdf appears at about 127%.
How do I get it to open at 100%?

Thanks so much! When I open it in Acrobat or on my desktop it now opens at 100%. However, I then link it to Muse and it still opens up much larger. I have made sure to relink it properly, I'm sure it's the new file. Is this a Muse issue at this point?

Some flash drives/USBs don't appear in Finder. But they appear in Disk Utilities so how do I get them to appear in Finder?
If you've never used them before (they are new) then they are not formatted for Macs.
Drive Partition and Format
1. Open Disk Utility in your Utilities folder.
2. After DU loads select your hard drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the left side list. Click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.
3. Under the Volume Scheme heading set the number of partitions from the drop down menu to one. Click on the Options button, set the partition scheme to GUID then click on the OK button. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Apply button and wait until the process has completed.
4. Select the volume you just created (this is the sub-entry under the drive entry) from the left side list. Click on the Erase tab in the DU main window.
5. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Security button, check the button for Zero Data and click on OK to return to the Erase window.
6. Click on the Erase button. The format process can take up to several hours depending upon the drive size.
When you want to remove an external device you must Eject it:
First, select the Desktop icon of the external disk. CTRL- or RIGHT-click and select Eject from the context menu. -

What do you mean 'cant get the music that is in my music lib' ?
If you mean that it's on your computer's iTunes library then connect your device to your computer and select it on the left-hand sidebar of your computer's iTunes (you can enable the sidebar via option-command-S on a Mac, control-S on a PC) and then use the Music tab on the right-hand side of the iTunes screen to select and sync your music to the device.
If it's an iOS device, then depending upon what country that you are in then you might also be able to redownload some/all of your past iTunes music purchases via the Purchased tab in the iTunes store app on it -

Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.

You can also check your security software (firewall) to make sure that if doesn't modify the user agent or otherwise makes the website think that you use a mobile connection.

If that did not work, then try triple-tapping the home button. If that does not work, then double-tap 3 fingers and hold on the screen, dragging to change the zoom level. If you need to move the screen around to be able to access something to get the device unlocked, then use 3 fingers to drag the screen around after trying to change the zoom level.

I've inherited a previously used early 2011 13-inch MacBook Pro at work.
I now have my own account on the computer, however the account does not show up on the list of users to log in as in the start up log in screen. It will only appear if I first log in as one of the users who do appear, then logout. The background also changes between these two log in screens - the start up one is white whereas after logging out of one user it's the brushed steel background. My account has admin powers.
Anyone have any ideas how I can make this account also show up on the start up screen?

Under System Preferences -> Security & Privacy -> FileVault I try and click "Enable users" near the bottom (after unlocking with an admin password). If I do this from my own account a green check mark appears next to my name, but upon clicking "done" I received this message after a brief loading period:
The following users weren’t allowed to unlock this disk because an unknown error occurred: (myusername).
I tried going into the root account and performing this same process, the first time System Prefences unexpectedly quit, and the second I received the same error as above after clicking the "Enable User..." button next to my account and trying to hit "Done". -
When I plug my iphone 5s into my desktop computer, the iphone icon which you click on to to wnable you to synch your device with itunes does not appear. Its like being signed into itunes without a device connected.
If you look in the top left hand corner, this is where the icon should appear apparently, but as you can see, on my account it just isnt appearing! my usb cable is new from an Apple store and isnt faulty. When browsing a new library that I created and exported onto an external hard drive, the browser shows dotted lines around grey rectangles, no images. When I double click on a rectangle, the image appears, but all the other rectangles remain empty - no image. How do I get images to appear in the browser rectangles? I am viewing this on a second computer (an older intel duo iMac), not the one I created the library on (a MacBook Pro). Both computers have Aperture 3.2.4 installed. When I return the external to the MacBook, all images appear in browser rectangles. What's happening on the iMac?
You may have a problem with the permissions on your external volume. Probably you are not the owner of your library on the second mac.
If you have not already done so, set the "Ignore Ownership on this Volume" flag on your external volume. To do this, select the volume in the Finder and use the Finder command "File > Get Info" (or ⌘I).
In the "Get Info" panel disclose the "Sharing & Permissions" brick, open the padlock, and enable the "Ignore Ownership on this Volume" flag. You will have to authentificate as administrator to do this.
Then run the "Aperture Library First Aid Tools" on this library and repair the permissions. To launch the "First Aid Tools" hold down the ⌥⌘-key combination while you double click your Aperture Library. Select "Repair Permissions" and run the repair; then repeat with "Repair Database". Do this on the omputer where you created the library and where you can see the thumbnails.
Then check, if you now are able to read the library properly on your iMac.

I used a usb turntable to import old vinyl records into iTunes. Then with the cloud and iTunes match I put them on another Mac. The songs come up in the music list but they are greyed out. How do I get them recognized. The symbol states the songs were downloaded from iCloud. I would like to get them to play so that I can make a playlist, and burn a CD.

my ipod 4th gen gets wiped clean of music anytime I sync. it then only redownloads some of the music in the library and wont upload missing songs. They show on the ipod grayed out. How do I get this to stop? re-uploading takes 4 hours and is never completed. I only get some of the 6000+ songs I have. This started when I updated to IOS5 i think.

there should be. Are you perhaps looking in the system library?
The User Library should appear in the Finder's "Go" drop down menu, like this:
If your system is Lion or Mt. Lion, you will have to hold down the option-key ⌥ to make it appear in the menu.
Then look in the folder Preferences for "com.aperture.plist" and remove it.
Don't forget to quit Aperture before you do this.

How do I get folders to appear above other documents in Finder?
Okay, I've been using PCs and MACs for years but I only recently bought my own, personal iMac G5. I know how to use OS X pretty efficiently.
Although, How do I get folders to appear above other files (ie. mp3, .doc, .psd). Meaning that folders have a higher authority then those 'lower' documents.
I'm basically saying I want to make it act like a Windows Explorer view, in a way.
It just makes sense to have folders at the top of the list.
In final, I want to be able to do this. Have everything in a Finder window alphabetical but with folders appearing at the top, in column view.
Thanks!Column view, to the annoyance of many, is strictly alphanumeric and there is no preference in Finder to opt for anything else. There is one kludgy thing you can do: add a space to the beginning of an item name to force it to the top.
While there is no way I know to set a default width, you can have the width expand to fit the contents by double clicking the || thingies at the bottom of the separator between columns. Option double click will expand all columns to the same width as the the widest one (pretty useless actually, as it only applies to ones already visible, not new ones).

When I switched computers my songs now cut off and don't play out. How can I get my songs back to play fully that I purchased from ITunes over the past years?
Other people have been having similar problems with songs over the last few days, I assume that there has been a problem with Apple's servers.
Depending upon what country that you are in (music can't be re-downloaded in all countries) then try deleting those tracks from your iTunes library and redownload them via the Purchased link under Quick Links on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page on your computer's iTunes : re-downloading.
If you aren't in a country where you can re-download music or if they re-download in the same state then try the 'report a problem' link from your purchase history : log into your account on your computer's iTunes via Store > View My Account and you should then see a Purchase History section with a 'see all' link to the right of it ; click on that and you should see a list of your purchases ; find those songs and use the 'Report a Problem' link. -

You have Zoom on... double tap with three fingers to turn it off. Go into Settings > General > Accessibility to disable it.

As long as they are already ticked in your iTunes then yes. Just to check do a sync and as long as everything stays the same you are good to go.
