I receive apop-up saying "Missing PDF Maker Files: Dou you want to run the installer in Repair Mode" I have done this several times. I have un-installrd and re installed the program twice. Still does not work. I'm running Windows 7 Home version and Microsoft Office XP 2002. This is a brabd new Acrobat program right out of the box. Suggestions Please.

In WORD 2002, I believe you can only print to the Adobe PDF printer. I think that WORD 2003 is the first compatible with AA X. Check out http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/333/333504.html.

I think from memory there might be two issues:
- check that the word and excel mimetypes have been added
- check that Word & Excel are installed on the print server.

Good to know — there is no such application as "Adobe XI".
"Adobe" is the name of the company.
"XI" is indicative of the use of either Acrobat XI or Reader XI.
Neither Acrobat XI Pro (for which Adobe provides a free, fully functional 30-day trial) nor Adobe Reader XI (the free to download and use PDF viewer that Adobe provides) have an "Export PDF" entry under "File".
"Export PDF" only is present in Adobe Reader XI over on the right on the "Tools" panel.
The "Tools" panel provides a way for a user of Adobe Reader XI to connect to various By Subscription online services (gotta pay eh).
Export PDF is one of these. A subscription lets you send a PDF file to the online internet service (aka "cloud" service). The service then exports to a supported file format (Word / Excel / ...) and the user selects / directs where the output file is to be saved on the user's local machine.
Of course to use any of the online subscription services one must have an active (paid up in full) subscription to the service.
So ---- As described the puzzle pieces don't fit eh.

How to create empty text file on target system for empty source text file

I have an issue in handling empty file in the Text (FCC) to Text (FCC) file scenario. Interface picks text file and delivers on target system as text file. I have used FCC in both sender and receiver CCs.
Interface is working fine if the source file is not empty. If the source text file is empty (zero Bytes), interface has to delivery an empty text file on target system. I have setup empty file handling options correctly on both CCs.
But when I tried with an empty file I am getting the error message 'Parsing an empty source. Root element expected!'.
Could you please suggest me what I need to do to create an empty text file on target system from empty source text file?

the problem is that when there is an empty file there is no XML for parsing available. Hence in case you are using a mapping it will fail.
What ideally you should do is to have a module that will check if the file is empty and if so write out an XML as you want with no values in the content/fields.
Or the next choice would be to have a java mapping to handle this requirement. I guess that on an empty file the java mapping will go to an exception which you can handle to write out your logic/processing

Put huge word formated text by checking condition on a column??

In my template, I have a table and a 2 huge texts. Now based on a column value I got to decide which text should be shown.
For example: Lets say we have sales column. If sales are greater than $1000 we have to display a table, and below that table we have to put the huge text101; else we have to put huge text202.
Huge text is actually a MS word formatted text explaining how good they are doing, how better they can improve, what if they won't perform well etc etc......
Can anyone give me some suggestions to try......

Use conditional regions. You can create a subtemplate within your RTF like this:

Can I insert a new text at the cursor's position In Formatted-Text-Edit?

    I am doing a task to enhance Formatted-Text-Edit,
    The task's goal is: simultaneously edit/display text and image.
    I decide to use Formatted-Text-Edit and Formatted-Text-View to realize the task.
    In Formatted-Text-Edit, user can edit the text and input URL for image,
    In Formatted-Text-View, the text and image can be displayed simultaneously.
    I add a button "Insert Image" besides the Formatted-Text-Edit,
   This is the key point:
   When user click the button, I want to insert a new text(URL of the image) at the cursor's position in Formatted-Text-Edit,
   But how can I get the cursor's position, and insert a new text at the cursor's position in FTE.
   Can anyone give me some suggestion or solution?

I don't believe that you can get the cursor position yet with the FormattedTextEdit UI element. The best you could do currently is to place the insert at the end of the current text.

Garbled text after inserting a converted MS Word Doc into PDF

I am on a PC running XP professional using Word 2003 and Acrobat Pro v.8.
I successfully converted a variety of MS Office (Word, Excel,PowerPoint) documents into Acrobat Pro v8 PDF files. I then took all of these individually converted PDF files and merged into one large PDF file.
As stated, I verified that the documents converted successfully to individual PDF files, but when merging the files into one PDF file, some of the headers and/or text in the body contains garbled/scrambled text.
This is a massive project and I am pushing 300 pages. Does anyone have any suggestions to solve this problem. I have tried converting them through Word and Acrobat Pro with no luck.

After much tinkering around, I have finally solved the issue of the garbled text upon insertion of a converted file into a PDF file:
1. In Word, click on the Adobe PDF tab
2. click "change conversion settings"
3. click on Settings tab (may be default tab)
4. put a check in the box that says "PDF/A-1a; 2005 compliant file"
5. click ok
6. convert to PDF file
7. inserted converted PDF file into another PDF
I confirmed that my file now converts properly and there is no garbled text!
I do not know what "PDF/A-1a; 2005 compliant file" is, but it worked!

Loading from text file unable to display certain letters such as w and ?

I downloaded a flash template that includes a text file that it uses to load the content. So, I opened the text file and started to make changes to certain text and when I view the changes I noticed that certain letters and characters are not being displayed such as the letter w and the question mark ? and other letetrs.

I am not sure what all that is, I know nothing about flash and that is why I got the template so I can just change the text and get what I want. Can you please tell me exactly how to do what you suggested?

How to correctly and automatically convert a pdf having tables with embedded figures to MS Word format?

I'm a language translator. My source files are very often pdf's containing huge tables with hundreds of embedded figures as well as text. So far, I've been unable to find a way to automatically convert such a structure to MS Word format. When selecting the table, the figures do not copy. Figures can be selected and copied only one at a time. Tried Reader, tried Acrobat, tried third party software like ABBYY PDF Transformer+ to no avail. Is there a way to do it?

Cannot get text file to print in jtable. Using text file as a database

Instead of doing JDBC i am using text file as database. I cant get data from text file to print into JTable when i click find button. Goal is to find a record and print that record only, but for now i am trying to print all the records. Nothing happens because in the actionPerformed() method you are creating a new version of GUIdirectory. You just want to execute the dbTest() method of the current instance of GUIdirectory.

Spooling to Text File - 30 million records - Getting Out of Memory Error

I have an extremely large oracle table that I need to spool to a .txt file. The table has approximately 30 million records. I'm using Toad For Oracle version 10.5 and I'm on Oracle 10g. I've tried running the following spool command a few times and it keeps crashing...I'm getting a "Out of Memory" error in my Toad window when I execute it as a script. Here's the code:
