Pdf attachments do not come through on iCloud mail but they do on other email accounts on same device

I have several email accounts set up that appear on all my devices: iMac, iPhone and iPad. I use 2 email accounts for work purposes, and good thing I use two. I receive pdf attachments in non-apple email accounts, but the same email sent to my iCloud address comes through minus the attachment and shows only "winmail.dat". I am using the same device to read the email from the different accounts, but the problem is consistent with all my apple devices. This has to be a setting in iCloud mail but I can not figure it out. Please help.

Basic troubleshooting steps clearly outlined in the User Guide are restart, reset, restore from backup, restore as NEW.
If the basic troubleshooting steps don't work, then you'll need to bring your phone into Apple for evaluation and probable replacement.

I had the same problem and also had PDF Download 3.0.02 installed. By removing this addon I can now select a PDF document which then opens up a normal Open With/Save dialogue allowing me to open the file or save it. Hope this helps.

Then your family members will probably have bought their ipads with a data plan from some phone company like AT&T in the States. Maybe they even got it "sponsored", because they bought a data plan with it.
If you bought your "iPad only" from a hardware seller, you will have to get a data plan from some phone company. Seems like you only bougth the hardware! You can still use your ipad, however, and if you have an iPhone, you do not even need a sim card in your iPad, because it can use your iPhone's data plan.
That is what I did. I save the extra money for the 3G version, because with an iPhone 4 there is no need for an own sim Card in an iPad.
But that is another topic.

i wanted to post about a bug i am experencing on Messages app under os x mountain lion...
when someone tries to send me an imessage with a picture it only comes through to my iphone and ipad but not my laptop.. OR it will come through on my computer but not on my iPhone and iPad
This issue is intermittent it will basicly work when it wants to....
also upon closing imessage i get a message saying there is a file transfer in progress... when i review file transfers it shows any picture file that my friends have attempted to send to me but dont download.... It seems that the picture is trying to download but never does.
anyone else have this problem?

Associate your mobile number with your Apple ID, if you haven't already done so.
Sign out of iMessage on the Mac: Messages ▹ Preferences ▹ Accounts ▹ Sign out.
Sign out on the iPhone: Settings ▹ Messages ▹ Send & Receive ▹ Apple ID ▹ Sign out.
Then, on the phone, tap Use Your Apple ID for iMessage.
Sign back into iMessage on both devices and test.

Pdf file will not come up properly

Dear Sirs:
My daughter sent me her w-2 and 1099's through the IPHONE, and one of them did not come through properly. The pdf came through, but it was blank.
When I went to my laptop PC and downloaded the 1099 it came up correctly with infomation inside the boxes. But it came out blank with either the Iphone or IPAD2.
I think there is a problem with the pdf add in inside the OS 5.01, because later I was experimenting and had downloaded a free PDF app, and opened the 1099 in that, and it was NOT blank. There were information inisde the boxes, but the boxes were blue.
So please fix this bug. Thanks.

At the risk of hijacking your thread, if this is a known problem with a known fix, it would seem ripe for the "known issues" page. I think one reason Adobe does not have such a page is they've depended on this forum for such stuff, which if you're willing to slog through a bunch of unrelated stuff and/or misinformation, has a wealth of knowlege. Likewise, there are a bunch of unpaid Lightroom enthusiast idiots (I was hoping I could get away with that since I consider myself one of them) who hang out on this forum just to help people like you...

- Try cleaning out/blowing out the headphone jack. Try inserting/removing the plug a dozen times or so.
Try the following to rule out a software problem
- Reset the iPad. Nothing will be lost
Reset iPad: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup
- Restore to factory settings/new iPod.
- Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store. Seems you have a bad headphone jack.

composite don't support mirror so it will only display on the tv when the app being used support tvout option
the build in video app does so it should display on the tv at least my composite cable does with my iphone4

Don't edit the audio into the timeline. Or pull the audio level down to zero in the inspector or on the audio waveform in the timeline.

E-mail folders that did not come through with Leopard upgrade

I had many e-mail folders in my Apple Mail that did not come through in my Leopard upgrade. I do have them backed up on a Lacie. Any easier suggestions then going to the back up. Can you drag from the abckup to the new e-mail set up on Leopard

Since I have had iCloud I have also had the account set up on my Mac Mail - along with several other email accounts.
Just the last few days it is no longer able to receive or send emails from the iCloud account.
I have tried to reset it - but it is not allowing me to set outgoing server - what's up?

I noticed the same problem after upgrading a few iPhones to IOS 8, all use the same Apple ID. However, I now notice when I go into Message and instead of selecting a person from my contact list, I start typing their name which brings up a list of people, some of which are not in my contact list and are on one of the other iPhones. There's a circle/exclamation point next to the name which I click on, and one of the options is to "Remove from Recent". How did these names get from one phone to another and how do I remove all "recents"? They do not appear in my contact list. Anyone see this?

Not able to active iCloud mail on mac

I am not able to enable iCloud mail on Mac running Mac OS X lion 10.7.2.
When I ticks Emails and Notes in the iCloud setting on my Mac. It says starting for a very long time and then it seem to end okay. But next time I enter the settings again the check mark has dissappeared.
Yesterday I managed to create a me.com email address - when I the first time tried to enable iCloud email.
The new me.com address works fines on the web part of iCloud but not on my Mac and not on my iPhone. Yes iCloud mail is turned on the iPhone.
I can see in the system log that Mac os i trying to enable mail and then disables it again.

I got the coversion email from my me.com account but I cant set up mail on my mac.. it says Valid Apple Id but not valid Icloud account...
I can go to my mobil me /move and get to icloud that way...and do mail ect.... so what gives.. It right on my phone and some what right on the desktop... but still no sync..
