Automatic Storing of Report Through Delivers in PDF Format to Local Disk
We need ihelp on our problem below.
Goal : We want to automatically download the IBOT reports in to a PDF file on our local hard drive for archiving purposes. We are able to get this working and the code is working fine with IBOTS calling Java Script in Windows environment and IBOTS calling Java Classes for AIX (our obiee is installed on AIX).
Problem : Java script code is able to return the name of the report which is chosen as the content for the IBOT -> under Delivery content Tab select content tab(containing the name of the report). Thus my downloaded PDF file is containing the report name which is good and what we need.The Java classes have been combined as a JAR File with 3 other dependency JAR Files which are needed to talk to the Scheduler Classes which are as follows.
C:\OracleBI\web\javahost\lib\scheduler\schedulerrpccalls.jar
C:\OracleBI\oc4j_bi\j2ee\home\applications\xmlpserver\xmlpserver\WEB-INF\lib\xdocore.jar
C:\OracleBI\oc4j_bi\j2ee\home\applications\xmlpserver\xmlpserver\WEB-INF\lib\versioninfo.jar
However when we now invoke the ibot with java classes on AIX box,we are not able to get the name of the report in the download file. We are not able to find the right JAVA supported method for OBIEE delivers to get the report name. In short what we want is the equivalent of this Java script code below in Java classes for OBIEE.
Java script which returns the name of the report is done by this one line code.
var foldername = GetConfigurationValue("Log Dir", "iBots") + "\\" + UserID
we need the equivalent of this "GetConfigurationvalue" in OBIEE scheduler Java classes to get the name of the ibot.This is a mandatory requirement from the business users to have the name of the downloaded report on the AIX Box using IBOTS and Java classes.
Thanks

I am configured to open pdf's in Acrobat instead of Firefox. This works great on the web. I have a local mirror of a website on my local disk as well as a network disk. When I use my html file to attempt to open the pdf on the local disk (file:///C:/T10/drafts/adc3/adc3r04.pdf) it opens as text in Firefox - appears to be ASCII view of the binary contents of the pdf. When I use my html file on my network disk (http://tucgsa.ibm.com/~kdbutt/T10/drafts/adc3/adc3r04.pdf) everything works as it should.
You can set the pdfjs.disabled pref to true on the <b>about:config</b> page to disable the build-in PDF viewer and use the Adobe Reader instead.

"problem connecting to server" when trying to access local disk
Recently (perhaps since I upgraded to Yosemite), the first time I try access one of my two hard drives through Finder I get two pop-up windows with error "there was a problem connecting to server". When I dismiss the pop-ups, the Finder window appears OK. I then don't get these errors for some time and then I get them again - and always two errors.
It seems the access request goes through NAS which fails ...
"NetAuthSysAgent[11958]: ERROR: AFP_GetServerInfo - connect failed 62"
and "NetAuthSysAgent[11958]: GetStatus: connecting to self not allowed"
but then it gets actioned as a local access. Can anyone think of why NAS gets involved? And mainly how to get rid of it :^).
There is nothing in login items that mounts either of the disks as a server. Is there a way to find out if a local disk is mounted as a server and who caused it?Many thanks, I am impressed by the process :^)

How to send the content of an agent (PDF Report) to local machine in 11g
Hi all,
I want to export my reports (PDF format) from an agent on a local disk.
Through an action such as javascript. After more research I do not find a solution.
Someone should track it on the subject?
Best regards,
BenOf course !
This is the javascript :
**var fso=new ActiveXObject("Scripting.FileSystemObject");**
**var maintenant=new Date();**
**var jour=maintenant.getDate();**
**var mois=maintenant.getMonth()+1;**
**var an=maintenant.getFullYear();**
**var MaDate = jour + " " + mois + " " + an;**
**var fileName = ['E:\\Extranet\\Reports\\'] + MaDate + " " + Parameter(1) + ['.xls'];**
**var fooFile = fso.CopyFile(Parameter(0), fileName, true);**
(NB : the var MaDate is just for me to specify the date in the filename)
You must also create an action to invoke the javascript. Follow the link to see an example http://hpics.li/7cf7d3e
Best regards,

Download a smartform on local disk based on transport request
Dear Experts,
I want to given on selection screen transport request and path .If in this tranport request there is any
smartform ,all download on local disk.
So what sud i have to do for this.Please give me a example for it.
Thanks,
Jatin sangalHI,
Use this below function module to get the spool to an internal table.
CALL FUNCTION 'CONVERT_OTFSPOOLJOB_2_PDF'
EXPORTING
src_spoolid = l_spool_id
IMPORTING
pdf_bytecount = g_bin_filesize
TABLES
pdf = ipdf
EXCEPTIONS
err_no_otf_spooljob = 1.
The data will be fetched to IPDF internal table, then u can use GUI_DOWNLOAD function module to download this file to your specific location as below.
CALL FUNCTION 'GUI_DOWNLOAD'
EXPORTING
bin_filesize = g_bin_filesize
filename = g_file
filetype = 'BIN'
IMPORTING
filelength = g_file_size
TABLES
data_tab = ipdf
EXCEPTIONS
file_write_error = 1.
Thanks,
Ravi -
Unable to discover local disks in T5220
According to http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E35328_01/E35332/html/vmusg-storage-types.html#vmusg-storage-local
I should be able to use extra disks in a T5220 to store VMs:
Local storage consists of hard disks installed locally in your Oracle VM Server. In a default installation, Oracle VM Server will only use the first disk (/dev/sda), leaving other disks available for storage.
As long as no partition and data are present the device will be detected as a raw disk. The choice is yours to use the local disks either to provision logical storage volumes as disks for virtual machines or to install a storage repository. If you place a storage repository on the local disk, an OCFS2 file system is installed.
But I am unable to discover these disks using Oracle VM Manager 3.2.2.520, managing a host running Solaris 11.1 with latest version of VM Server for SPARC:
# pkg list | grep ldom
consolidation/ldoms/ldoms-incorporation 0.5.11-0.175.1.9.0.4.0 i--
system/ldoms 0.5.11-0.175.1.9.0.2.2 i--
system/ldoms/ldomsmanager 3.0.0.4-0.175.1.9.0.4.0 i--
I suspect that it is because "partition and data are present" on the disk, but I don't know how to delete partitions with the format command, only change them to unassigned and zero length, and that didn't work:
partition> p
Current partition table (original):
Total disk cylinders available: 46873 + 2 (reserved cylinders)
Part Tag Flag Cylinders Size Blocks
0 unassigned wm 0 0 (0/0/0) 0
1 unassigned wm 0 0 (0/0/0) 0
2 backup wu 0 - 46872 279.38GB (46873/0/0) 585912500
3 unassigned wm 0 0 (0/0/0) 0
4 unassigned wm 0 0 (0/0/0) 0
5 unassigned wm 0 0 (0/0/0) 0
6 unassigned wm 0 0 (0/0/0) 0
7 unassigned wm 0 0 (0/0/0) 0
I can't make slice 2 size zero, otherwise when I run label to write the changes I get an error. Can anyone tell me what I'm missing? Thanks!The reason you can't do this, is that the currently shipping support for Oracle VM Manager on SPARC systems is only for NFS. The paragraph you are quoting is from the base Oracle VM manual and that section applies to x86. /dev/sda is a Linux convention, not Solaris, so it wouldn't apply here.
If you go to the Oracle VM Server for SPARC documentation at Oracle VM for SPARC Documentation and then select View Library for Release 3.0 at
http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E37707_01/index.html
you will see a page with all the documents for the current release. Pick the "Oracle VM Manager 3.2: Quick Start Guide for Managing Oracle VM Server for SPARC" at http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/server-storage/vm/ovm3-sparc-quick-start-guide-1900072.pdf
You are running the correct version of Solaris 11 and the logical domains manager, so you should be able to discover the server, networks, and file-based repositories, but you'll have to wait till a later release provides support for local disk, FC SAN, and iSCSI. I hope this helps explain the situation.

OVM Sparc - Can't discover local disks
Chassis 6000
10 Blades T4-1B
Controller LSI logic with 2 local 600gb disks per blade.
I understand that FC and ISCSI storage generic drivers are a big no at the moment for sparc, I currently have the storages attached to one blade and shared via nfs (a blueprint for tunning nfs in 11.1 would be great also).
The problem is, I can't even discover the local disk, no raid, so OVM should discover the secondary disk by itself right? Disk is completely cleared as recommended, but OVM still fails to discover anything.
Help or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
ThanksThe answer is "not yet" with the OVM manager. The currently shipping support for Oracle VM Manager on SPARC systems is only for NFS.
If you are willing to work via CLI outside Oracle VM Manager, you can add local disks to the guest. You have to expand the VM line in the GUI so you can see the "ID" field, which is the actual name of the domain in the ldoms manager. For example, you may name the guest 'mydomain', but the actual name in 'ldm list' will be a long hex string that is a UUID. You can use 'ldm add-vdsdev' to define virtual disks, and then 'ldm add-vdisk' to add that disk to a guest. The other complication is that the domain does not actually exist until you start it from the GUI, so if you stop the guest and later restart it, all "extra" devices not known to OVM Manager won't be there and would have to be added again. The other obvious restriction is that you can not migrate a domain if it has local disks.
For reference: if you go to the Oracle VM Server for SPARC documentation at Oracle VM for SPARC Documentation and then select View Library for Release 3.0 at http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E37707_01/index.html
you will see a page with all the documents for the current release. Pick the "Oracle VM Manager 3.2: Quick Start Guide for Managing Oracle VM Server for SPARC" at http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/server-storage/vm/ovm3-sparc-quick-start-guide-1900072.pdf
I hope this helps explain the situation.

Can only "Save to online account" when I try to "save as" won't allow me to save to local disk. How do I "save as " to local disk like I always used to?
Open a PDF. Cry ah-ha!
Select one of Acrobta's Content Editing tools. The save icon becomes active. Cry ah-ha!
Selection of / use of other tools can result in the save icon becoming active.
Try each in turn (do remember to have a PDF open).
Cry with delight at each Ah-Ha moment.

Help required - "Failed to download the folio to your local disk"
Hi
(Warning: first time poster :-)
I am having difficulty downloading my published folio. Over the last 24hrs I repeatedly get the following error (after a long wait with status “Preparing content for download...”) on different computers (Mac/PC) and browsers:
An error has occurred while exporting the folio
Failed to download the folio to your local disk
My first version is being delivered to an Android app (created using the Viewer Builder) and was embedded into an iOS app (also created using the View Builder). This all worked without any problems and I can export this now.
To optimize the folio for the new iPad I decided to use the PDF option which required me to rebuild the folio again. The content is identical bar a couple of dates changed from 2011 to 2012. I just need to export the folio so I can embed it into an updated iOS app. The folio will not be (at this stage) delivered to the Android app.
I hope somebody can help :-)
Andrew
Edit: Using the new Adobe Content Viewer I see TWO versions of folio - one with the blue lightening bolt - but maybe that is normal?Hi Andrew,
can't help unfortunatly, but I get the same error when trying to download a retina display folio using a normal dps account. Download is "prepared" for about 5 minutes after which I get the error message:
An error has occurred while exporting the folio.
Failed to download the folio to your local disk.
[downloadIssueFailed]
However, normal resolution folios can be exported and exporting a retina folio from a professional DPS account works.
Best greetings,
Philip -
I just installed iTunes on my computer, where I already have all my music. I went to Edit > Preferences > Advanced, and changed the iTunes Media Folder Location to where I have all my music, in the "Local Disk." But iTunes wont import all my music. Help?
Have you looked in the Music App on your iPhone? On the iPhone music is played by the Music App not iTunes.

The best audience for applets is people off the internet. 'People off the internet' might be using a computer that has no (what was it?) 'open.html' in the root of the C: drive. In fact (shock horror) they may not even be running Windows, and would therefore probably have no 'C:' drive at all.
If you do not intend to distribute this to people off the web, an application makes a lot more sense, but even then, you cannot rely on the document being there unless you 'put it there' (during installation, for instance).
As the other poster intimated, applets can load documents off the local disk as long as they are trusted. Here is an example*, but note that it is not so rash as to presume any particular path or file, and instead leaves it to the user to choose the document to display.
* The short code can be seen at SDNShare on the [Defensive Loading of Trusted Applets|http://sdnshare.sun.com/view.jsp?id=2315] post.
On the other hand, a sandboxed applet can load any document coming from its own server via URL, or get showDocument(URL) to work. In that case, the JRE must recognize that the URL is from its own server, so the best way to form URLs for applet use is via the URL constructor
new URL(getDocumentBase(), "path/to/open.html");That is how I form the URL in this [ sandboxed example of formatting source|http://pscode.org/fmt/sbx.html?url=/jh%2FHelpSetter.java&col=2&fnt=2&tab=2&ln=0]. Of course, in this case the applet loads the document, then parses the text to draw the formatted version, but the point is that an URL produced this way will work with showDocument(URL).
I am pretty sure showDocument() in an applet off the internet will work with an URL pointing to a foreign (not its own) server, but it will not be able to load documents off the end user's local disks.
I suggest a couple of things.
- Try to express this problem in terms of what feature it is that you want to offer the end user. Your question jumps directly to a bad strategy for achieving ..who knows what? An example of a feature is "Shows the applet 'help' files on pressing F1".
- A good way to indicate interest in a solution is to offer [Duke stars|http://wikis.sun.com/display/SunForums/Duke+Stars+Program+Overview] to match that interest.
Edit 1:
..and please figure out how to use the CODE tags.

File DownLoad from R/3 to Local Disk through Web Dynpro
Hi,
I have a zebra print spool, to be saved in the local disk. For this, I have an RFC which will store the document in Portal Server KM folder and will give the file name for web dynpro app. The web dynpro app will search the KM Directory, and will enable the user to save the file on the local disk.
Is it right approach? Is there any other approaches which would be efficient. BTW, I have files from 4k to 12k size. Can I directly attach it to the context variable and store it directly onto the local disk.
I am running Netweaver2004 SP16. I cant use Input stream, does this affect the performance?.
Thanks, I appreciate your time.Hi Raj,
you have the name and the full path of the file you can access the file through FILE IO as the file is on portal server only and then you can use the File Download UI in web dynpro to download the file
