PDF book printers

Greetings,
I checked the forums and have found out iPhoto books do not support PDF files for importing/printing.
Does anyone know of a service for printing books which will accept PDFs?
I am interested in 1 or 2 copies only.
My plan it to try to get this site: http://EpicRoadTrips.us/ca2007 to print.

Are trying to create a pdf file of the site you linked us to and have that printed as a book? Do you already have that site in pdf format by page? If so do a Print to PDF->Send PDF to iPhoto and a jpg image of each page of the pdf file will be created and imported into the iPhoto album of your choosing. From there you can use those jpg images in an iPhoto book.
The Automator workflow that creates the jpg is set to 200 dip. It can be edited with Automator to set it to 300 dpi, the max usable for iPhoto books. It's called Save PDF to iPhoto.workflow and is located in the HD/Library/PDF Services folder. Duplicate the file, open with Automator, change 200 to 300 and save.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 6 and 7 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. Just put the application in the Dock and click on it whenever you want to backup the dB file. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.
Note: There's now an Automator backup application for iPhoto 5 that will work with Tiger or Leopard.

The problem is; when I past copied text from some pdf books (not all of them) it past symbols only! wherever I past it! and even if I coped that text from another pdf reader (adobe pdf reader, internet browsers, ...etc.).
This problem started to happen since yesterday when I installed adobe acrobat reader XI pro to try it before I buy it, and before that when I was using the free adobe pdf reader I was totally able to copy any text from any pdf and past it anywhere with nothing wrong.
What can I do?

How do i synch my pdf/books to my library. I was able to synch my ipod touch purchases by transferring them but can't figure out how to do my pdfs. Also why is my ipod picture greyed out-the one that lets my move the icons around.

thank you-i have to check into the authorization and the account-i gave my husband my old ipod when i updated last year so both at one time have been on this computer but as it stands, it only comes up with my device when i plug into Itunes.
i don't think i have any restrictions for installing apps although my normal way of doing it is to download from the ipod touch. i did find that all i had to do was right click on my device name and got the message to transfer my apps and then they showed up in my library. Also when i clicked the synch checkbox i was able to view the ipod touch picture without it being greyed out. after all that i was able toupdate to IOS 5 successfully except my videos and podcast, and pdfs did not come over. This confuses me since i had dragged them over to my library to make sure that i had everything in my library and on my device. Not a big problem, since i just dragged them in itunes from my library to my device but sometimes i wonder if i understand the big picture:)

Adobe Reader on the iPhone is a PDF reading app. It's not a creation app.
You need to get an app like Pages which is intended for page layout. It can place pictures from the phone and export PDF.

IBooks 3.1-all PDF books in my Collections disappear after updating to 3.1 on iPad 4 ios 6.1.2! How do I recover or revert to previous version? (Can one do selective restore of back on iTunes?)

Just updated iBooks app on my iPad 4 to ver 3.1. Upon launching iBooks 3.1 briefly saw my PDF books on my Collections bookshelves then they suddenly disappeared! (Purchased Books are still present)

You've tried tapping on the Collections button at the top of the bookshelf to see if they are in a different collection ? If not then do you have a copy of them in the Books part of your computer's iTunes library (though PDFs aren't iTunes purchases, if you've done 'transfer purchases' whilst they were on the iPad then they should have copied over) ?
ibooks and PDFs aren't included in a device's backup, so if they aren't in your computer's iTunes library and/or you don't have your own backup copy of them then they won't be on your computer (for info there isn't an iBooks app/program for a Mac or PC).

RE-printing a PDF book With Acrobat 9

I have this strange problem. When I print a pdf book as a pdf again (reason I am doing this if because it will give me a page size that will go with the entire book, and as a result, it will be easier to crop the book.), the file size becomes WAY bigger than the original size of the PDF.
This is the basic process when I do the the printing to pdf:
Select ALL the pages in the book.
Go To Print.
Under the Name List, select Adobe PDF.
Click Properties.
On the Layout tab, Click Advanced. Under Paper Size, Select Postscript Custom Paper Size.
Select the Unit (e.g. Millimeter).
Once done, go to the ADOBE PDF Setting tab, and then select Default Setting to Standard.
click all the OKs, until you are ready to print.
I have tried to to look for the answer on other forums, and googling, but no proper explanation or advice.

Tried that. That doesnt solve the problem. File is still as big as
hell. Acrobat 8 works like a charm for this process. I even made
screenshot for the 'small size' preset and compared it to Acrobat 9.
Seems the same, so not sure why does it make files bigger. Dont get
started with file optimization because this book im dealing with here
has bad images to any downsizing is going to mess it up. Booya:-@

PDF files cannot be natively opened in InDesign. They can only be placed as graphics.

PDF Book Binder Processor and blob protocol

I've 3 questions concerning PDF Book Binder Processor
1. in the documentation: "Oracle® XML Publisher User’s Guide Release 11i Part No. B13817-06"
I see a statement:

Unfortunatly I can't find this document on the My Oracle Support.
Is this document exists ?
Was anybody was able to find it ?

Unfortunatly I can't find this example.

Hi all,
Hopefully someone can help me out with this..
I would like to make an ebook/PDF book (i'm not sure what the difference is!!!?)
I don't have a clue how to go about this.
I'm a musician and I have all my lyrics and chords all neatly displayed in microsoft word...
I thought it would be better if i maybe converted all the word documents (over 400) in to PDF's that would hopefully allow me to search through my individual songs by title? Or by keyword, (I'm pretty sure I've done this within a PDF document before.
Is this even possible or have I just wasted my money ordering an ipad2 ? (I was going to hopefully upload the PDF book to ibook and literally read it as i played?)

"eBook" is an umbrella term for a plethora of formats.

The "authoring" software needed to output to a desired format will depend upon which format you go to.
ePub, PDF, or the Kindle format (there's an App for iPad) may be the most versatile for you.
If you decide to create PDFs from the MS Word files you will want Acrobat Professional.
Acrobat Standard will let you get by; however it is not as robust for tweaking PDFs.
PDFs can be viewed on an iPad with one of the available Apps.
I prefer Good Reader but there are other capable ones; look through the App Store.

Change size of pages/text in pdf book

Hello I am trying to read a few pdf books but the text is so small that I have to zoom way in and then scroll from side to side to read the thing. Its super irritating. Is there a way to make the pdf book act more like the regular books? I would like to be able to have the text bigger and fit the page at the same time, instead of just zooming in. Thanks

No it doesn't.
Just make it the way you like it, select it and save it as a Style , just like any other text, which you then apply to the rest of the comments.

There are many ways to import your PDFs into Papers for iPad. Obviously the preferred way is if you have a Mac and also use Papers for Mac**. The two apps can wirelessly sync their libraries. But also without a Mac there are plenty of ways. You can upload PDFs directly via iTunes, or you can import PDFs attached to an email from Mail on the iPad. Alternatively, use the Papers bookmarklet to open a webpage you found in Mobile Safari and download the PDF from there. Or you can use the built-in search engines to search for articles and download the PDFs.

Pdf book in iBooks library opens in PdfPen Pro

Hi with the latest OS X 10.10.2 update , I open the pdf book in iBooks and the pdf opens in PDF Pen Pro not iBooks
Has anyone seen this behavior with this app or other pdf viewing apps?

Hold down the control key and select a file of the given type in the Finder. A contextual menu appears. Release the control key and hold down the option key. From the contextual menu, select the submenu
Always Open With
and then the application you want to open all files of that type.
