  • Hyperlink in PDF changed

the Rev is adobe reader x 10.1.4,
in the company internal website, after I downloaded some  PDF files ,the hyperlinks indise the files are all pointed to my PC disk, why not the website address like before?

    the process was:
1.At the first times,I open the PDF files in the company websites online,
it was ok, what the hyperlink pointed was another website address which
    located a PDF file.
2.After I saved some PDF file which I opened online to my local disk ,
someday, when I wanted to open a hyperlink from a PDF file online ,it can't
be realized ,like what I say at the beginning.
    my question is :
why it changed, normally, the PDF embeded in the website can't be changed
    with anything.
why did the hyperlink change, when I opened the PDF file ?

  • Crystal Report to PDF change fonts, cut text and change lines

    Post Author: jzwanziger
    CA Forum: Exporting
Hello all, I am using Crystal Reports v10 and I created my report. The report works fine and the export function works fine in some particular servers. We were developing under Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 2 using Visual Studio 2005 Service Pack 1. We created the deployment and in our testing servers works fine (Windows Server 2003 and Windows XP these machines doesn't have any development tool).
When we installed the same deployment (MSI) file in the customer Windows Server 2003, the exporting function to PDF or using it the Crystal Reports viewer doesn't work (Same worng thing that is displayed in the viewer is in the PDF). We had detected labels cut in the middle, some fields changed the font size or alignment and some lines move it up, down or growing. Obviously this looks like a environment problem, but we don't have any idea how to fix it, or what is missed.
We tried to install, Windows Service Pack 2, install Acrobat Reader v8, verified the dll's, try to install the "dbex10win_en.zip" hot fix (we were not able to install it, setup file fail due some registry inconsistencies), Validate that the fonts are the same, and nothing fix the problem.
Could somebody help us, we are a little desperate.
thanks in advace for any idea.

    See [this|https://forums.sdn.sap.com/click.jspa?searchID=29094456&messageID=7206473] forum thread for possible clues to a resolution. In a nut shell, as long as the Calibri font is up to date, the other two steps are;
    1) Ensure you are using the latest Service Pack as suggested by Jonathan
    2) See what USP10.dll is loading (use the [Modules|https://smpdl.sap-ag.de/~sapidp/012002523100006252802008E/modules.zip] utility)
Also, if this is a win app, compile it to an exe and run the exe to see if the issue persists. (when running the app exe, the USP10 loaded should be from the CR bin directory. when running ion the .NET environment, the USP10 will load from win\system or other)

  • Photoshop pdfs change canvas size when being viewed in Acrobat

Hi, I am an issue when with saving photoshop pdfs from photoshop cc. They look good when they are in photoshop but when I save them to a pdf and then try to view them in acrobat the page size changes. Usually it defaults to 8.5 by 11 regardless of the size I set up in Photoshop. Does any one know why this might be? I am using Photoshop cc and Acrobat 11 pro. I've seen this same problem happen to several of my clients as well.

How are you determining the page size in Acrobat? Please post a screenshot. If you have the word scaled up in your filename, you may have to do a view >> pixel aspect ratio >> square
IN acrobat dod a Commadn R to show rulers, is your file 8.5" x 11". This actually sound like a view settings problem in acorn bat, btiu not sure

  • Printing to Adobe PDF Changes Checkbox Selection in Document

    Hi,
We have a PDF that we got from a client from their financial institution. One page has sets of checkboxes on it.
If we do File - Save As and save it as another PDF, the checkboxes stay as is.
If we print the file to our digital copier, the checkboxes stay as is.
However, if we print the PDF to the Adobe PDF print driver, the values of the checkboxes change.
    Before print to Adobe PDF:
    Yes
    Yes
    <no response>
    After print to Adobe PDF:
    No
    No
    Yes and No
It's as if the printed copy gets the photo negative values of the checkboxes that were actually checked on the original.
I've tried all of the different options in the Adobe PDF printer preferences, like unchecking "Rely on system fonts only; do not use document fonts" as well as all of the "Comments and Markup" dropdown box settings and the Page Sizing options doesn't seem to matter either.
Has anyone seen anything like this before? I've tried it on both Acrobat Standard 11.0.0 and 10.1.6
    Thanks in advance,
    John

Is the ESR version of Mozilla Firefox?  If not, then try that version to see if the issue persists.
BTW the ESR version of Mozilla Firefox IS the supported version of Mozilla Firefox.

  • Converting Word DOC to PDF changes to PP

I'm converting a Word DOC to PDF, and my header has several Registered marks. In Word it looks fine, but the PDF has added the letter 'P' before and after, changing '®' to 'P®P'
I've tried the same source doc on two different machines, and tried using earlier revs of the source doc.
    I'm running Word 2003 SP3 and Acrobat 7.0.0.
Is this a known issue? Is there a workaround?

I agree with John that the version level may be the issue. Typically the first release of each version is buggy. Often the problem seems to be with the fonts - maybe the source of your problem. It might be that the "P" characters were part of the original as flags to change a font style and did not get removed.
You might also try printing to the Adobe PDF printer to see if that gives the same result (I suspect it will). If it does, an update would be appropriate and should at least be tried on one machine.

  • Saving to PDF changes margins

When saving to PDF in print settings, it cuts off the bottom lines. How do I change the margins in the PDF to stop this happening

Try setting the scale to 98% or thereabout. Or if your printer can print borderless on letter sized paper set it up for that before selecting Save to PDF.

  • PDF changes color in PowerPoint

    Hi all,
I created an image (used color transparency for some parts) in Illustrator CC 2014. I saved the image as a pdf. and then inserted it in my PowerPoint presentation. Once I save the powerpoint and reopen it, pdf images that I inserted have a black background. Please, let me know how to deal with this issue. Thank you in advance!!!
    Katya

    Hi katya2385,
Are you still facing this issue?
As you said once you convert the pdf to image and then import that image to PowerPoint presentation the color of the image changes next time you open.
You may try to check the file which you have converted to image without looking that in powerpoint check that file individually.
    Regards,
    Ajlan Huda.

  • Exported PDF changes colour depending on software its viewed on

    Hi
I've searched on the forums but can't find a solution to my problem. I export my design to PDF in indesign CS6 and looks fine on my Windows 8.1 laptop, but when the printer company open it up in their software it changes colour. I can replicate it viewing on my iphone for some reason.
Please see the below pictures to see what I mean:
    Correct colours:
    Dropbox - Correct Colour.png
    Incorrect colours:
    Dropbox - Incorrect colour.png
    PDF export settings:
    Dropbox - PDF Settings.png
Please let me know if you need anymore details.
    Thanks
    Stephen

@Stephen – you told us where you see the incorrect colors. But you did not tell us where the printing company sees the incorrect color. What is there application? An iPhone has no color management. It is no color proofing device. Not at all!
As Willi already pointed out: Acrobat Pro will qualify, Adobe Reader will qualify.
    "Correct color" is a wide field… ;-)
And on not-callibrated monitors or devices the numbers of individual colors count (always coupled with their output intent, of course).

  • Why does text in Smallest File Size PDF change point size and vertical scaling?

If you have a document with 6 pt. type (no scaling) and Save As a Screen-Quality PDF, when you open that resulting PDF in Illustrator, the 6 pt. type has become 5.1 pt. type with vertical scaling of 117.65%! Normally, I would have no reason to open the PDF in Illustrator, but our clients are doing it. They want the smallest possible PDFs but still want to be able to check the point sizes for legal reasons. If you Save As a High Quality Print PDF, the type is fine, but that won't always work if there are alot of images and the file size needs to be kept as small as possible.

sorry for 2 posts, technical problem with forums and images.
Leading changed to 7.2, but as you know when going to pdf paragraphs are broken up into seperate lines.

  • I have the problem that other have had, PDFs changing to Firefox icons

All my PDFs had changed to Firefox icons and when trying to open them only the Firefox browser page appeared and I could not locate my files. Uninstalling Firefox worked fine, my files returned. One person mentioned imported profiles from an old computer being a cause but I was working on a new laptop with nothing imported from old equipment. I only installed Firefox because of small irritaing annoyances with Google Chrome, but those were only minor after the problems caused by Firefox. An extra couple of clicks is nothing compared with having lots my files messed up and inaccessible. None of the solutions proposed seemed particlarly useful long term so for the present not using Firefox seems the most practical cure. My difficulties occured on a laptop using Windows 7, I am typing this question on an even newer laptop with Windows 8.1 and I am now reluctant to try installing Firefox on this machine. It is a shame as my daughter always recommended Firefox as being a more secure browser.

If Firefox detects via a registry scan that there is currently no file handler application that handles PDF files and a few other file types then the Firefox updater/installer registers Firefox as the default application to handle these file types.
This causes them to show with a Firefox icon on the desktop and in other places like Windows Explorer (Bug 452254).

  • Will saving an eps file as a pdf change color output?  Digital printing.

Hello, I recently sent in a reprint order of a client's package label file, and the color output is quite different.   The first times I ordered these labels, I sent in an eps file.  At the printer's request, I submitted the file as a pdf this time.  I can't see any differences bewteen the eps and pdf  files.   They're both RGB, the color values are sttill the same in the file.   Should the file type change result in such a different output?  Thanks for any advice...

Switching from a RGB color mode to CMYK gives the same colors on Screen? Since the CMYK is a subset of the colors available in RGB this is not usually the case.

  • Save as PDF - Change Author Name?

In any application when you go to Print, Save as PDF is there any way to change the default author name it already has written there?

Unfortunately, that's not the answer that anyone is looking for. It's not changing the author name that is desired, but changing the author name that comes up by default when you save as PDF so that you don't have to select the author field and change it from your username. The goal is to remove steps, not to add steps.

  • Why does resaving an unchanged PDF change the size?

I have a client that sends me a PDF daily. If I take the file I was given, open it in Acrobat Reader XI and re-save it (without making any changes to it), the file size reduces by maybe 20-100kb. How do I determine what is the difference between the 2 files - or what it's doing to make the file smaller?
I began doing this because if I don't, my PDF processing application (Planet Press) - cannot read the file, but once I open and resave it, it works fine.
    Thoughts?

It's also possible that the file was damaged and that Reader repaired it. To test for this, open the file, and immediately close it. If there is a prompt to save in this case, it was damaged.
