PDF comments turning into code when copied

When copying long comments to paste into another document, the comment (not the copied text) changes to some kind of code—see below. If I close the PDF before saving, it reverts to the original comment. If not, the code remains. This has happened since OS 10.7 and with Acrobat 9, X and XI CC.

When I receive a PDF with comments, clicking on the checkmark to show the comment as completed turns it into code as in the screen shot. Any ideas??

Are you trying to select the option 'Add Checkmark'
or 'Set Status' as 'Accepted'
If you try to edit the 'Text box' or 'Text callout' from the comment pane then it converts it into xml code. This is a known issue and a Bug has been logged for the same.
When you mark the comment status as 'completed' it does not change into xml code.

Why are attachments in Apple Mail turning into code?

Dear Support Communities,
I'm running 10.6.8 on a macbook 4,1 (late 2008). I have had virtually no problems with receiving attachments until this week. In particular, it's happening with someone running 10.8.1. Even PDF files turn to code when I receive them, so they're useless.
Help is much appreciated!

I wanted to add that I'm using google mail imap server. The message listing didn't even indicate there was an attachment.
I just rebuilt the mailbox and at the moment that seems to have worked (although having read through another thread I'm a bit dubious of whether that will stick).

Well technically I haven't been able to use Create PDF successfully. But
for example - I have an excel spreadsheet on my desktop that I want to

Has the unit EVER been jailbroke? Has it EVER been dropped? Did it EVER get excessively wet? Did you EVER load a pirated developer's version of the IOS?
If "No" to all the above, first try a system reset. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. It could take well over an hour! Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow the on-screen directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod. As before, say "yes." Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time. If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device. Corrective action is simple - choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore and you have IOS-6 or lower, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here. Also, if you have IOS-7, read this.

NEF(raw) photos turn into jpg when i drag from iphoto to my desktop?

why do my NEF(raw) photos from my nikon D90 turn into jpg when i drag them from iphoto to my desktop? i can not work on them in PS unless i dig into the original files in the masters list. i download them from the card, both go in, and if i look at the info it says that they are both there one in jpg and one in raw format side by side. what am i missing and how can i drag the raw photo onto the desktop keep it in that format so that i can then put into PS.

well i have one other q that maybe you can answer, when i send photos to folks from iphoto, through macmail, no one can download the photos and keep on their 'puter. several years ago this changed and i have never found the answer. i will put on my desktop zip the photos and send that way. is their another??

Try pulling down the spill level and reducing the spill tint. You're probably going to have to tweak the color selection manually.

PDF comments change to XML after copying and pasting

Has anyone experienced a problem with comments in mark-ups where they appear as normal text until they have been copied (and pasted into Indesign, though this part is not relevant) but when ticked as completed they change to xml formatted text? See before and after pics below:

As a follow up to this I have just experienced another similar situation where the the pdf comment changes to Greek text...
the left hand pic is from the comment window, the right hand pic is from the mark-up in the text. Very odd...

How is it possible, that a pdf file turns into a psd file while sending with mail

I have send a pdf file as attachment with mail. the file shows correctly as pdf file. but when the file arrived at the addressed location it turned into a psd file. in addition it seems there is a problem sending png and ai files. once those files have arrived through mail I am getting the feedback, that the files are are not scalable, they are fuzzy or completely messed up.
has anyone an idea, where the problem comes from?

ID CS3 : the 101 buttons bug - PDF file turning into a form

Hi there,
I'm just mentionning this issue with a clear title (I had mentioned it in another thread but with a wrong topic name, since I hadn't found out the bug).
When working in inDesign CS3, there's a slight but annoying issue with interactive PDF buttons. As soon as your file reaches 101 buttons, the PDF document exported is considered as a form instead of a standard document (no matter if the buttons are present on the master pages, on the same pages or through the document).
I've managed to find a workaround myself, and I found another one on these forums, but no real solution. Here they are:
Workaround #1 (http://http://forums.adobe.com/message/2177707#2177707) :
Instead of creating my controls in the master page (which caused the file to have more than 100 buttons), I created them (only once) in the first page they appeared in. Then, in Acrobat Pro, I just selected them and used the "duplicate" command.
There are two benefits when using this solution:
your PDF document won't turn into a form (which can be a real problem if you don't want to confuse the document users).
your PDF file will be lighter. Indeed, when creating a button in inDesign (even if you create it on the master page) the exported PDF document won't contain X occurences of the same button, but X different buttons (which can incread the size of your document dramaticaly when it reaches a large amount of pages).
Yet, if your document reaches 101 buttons on the solemn content, the bug will trigger anyway.
Workaround #2 (http://http://forums.adobe.com/message/1322652#1322652) :
After having exported your PDF file, lock it against editing (through the password protection system). Your document will still be considered as a form, but the annoying purple box won't pop any longer when you open the file.
This solution is quite simpler, but it still is a workaround to the issue, not a solution.
Well, I hope those workarounds will help someone, but if someone had a *real* solution to it, that would be great.

Choice list in af:query turns into inputText when AM pooling is disabled

Hi all,
I have a choice list field in an af:query search area. This field is based on attribute FlagYN VARCHAR2(1) and is bound to a list of values.
When AM pooling is disabled, executing the search makes that field loose its Display property and search operator original value: it turns into an inputText, the operator, originally set as "equal to" is now "less than" and the expected value is now the index in the choice list.
What can be happening?

Hi,
there are two bugs associated with bind variables in successors that I am aware of. One of them is supposed to be fixed in the next patch set, another one is still open. However, both problems were found with AM pooling enabled as well, so I don't know this is the same problem (though it sounds like). If you can, I suggest to create a reproducible testcase on one of the Oracle database schema, like HR or OE, and file a bug. If you don't have a time for or access to support, send the test case in a zip file (rename ".zip" to ".unzip") to the mail Id you find in my OTN profile. However, be aware that when I file the bug then it wont be visible for you, nor can it be escalated on your behalf. Anyway, at least it would get filed

An Alias would be an email address that is delivered to a different account's inbox.
For instance if you have [email protected] and have [email protected] Then [email protected] would be an alias if mails from that address arrive at the icloud address.
If you want to add a completely different account, with a spearate inbox, like an account in hotmail and one in say yahoo mail. Then as has been pointed out, you need to go into the Settings Icon, Tap on Mail, Contacts, Calendars, and then on add account. The iPad has several services preconfigured, you can tap on one of those from the list to setup an email for that service. Such as Hotmail, Gmail etc...
Or you can tap on other to add a personal pop3 or imap type email like from your office, or your school.

Dreamweaver CS5.5 Deleting Code When Copying a File

When I try to copy or duplicate a file in Dreamweaver CS5.5 for Mac, Dreamweaver removes the last five or six lines of code. I have to create a lot of nearly-identical webpages with the same footer information on each page, and it's really tiresome having to go back into each page and re-create the code Dreamweaver has deleted. I've updated both the Dreamweaver and OS software, but it hasn't corrected the problem. It doesn't matter whether I use the "copy", "paste", "duplicate" Dreamweaver functions, or if I simply use Command+C, Command+V. I can't seem to find anyone online having a similar problem. Do any of you know of a fix?

On the remote server side, I can right-click, say, index.html and copy or duplicate it. It's in that process that the code is being chopped off.
I never work that way and wouldn't want to for a variety of reasons.
Best to open index.html in your Local Site.
Hit File > SaveAs "some-new-filename.html"
Try doing that a few times and report back with your results.

Inserting Spaces into code when pressing tab

When I press the tab key, DW inserts a tab character in the
code. I'd like to replace that behavior with it inserting spaces.
DW catches when you don't add a trailing slash on certain HTML tags
in XHTML, so is there a way to hook into that system and have it
catch when you type a tab in?
The code formatting preferences only apply to when DW
auto-inserts tabs, not manually pressing the tab key.

Go to Edit>Preferences>Code Format and ensure that the
first setting is as follows:
index (box checked) with "2" spaces (not tabs)
