PDF Complete, Acrotray

Some web site downloaded PDF Complete to my system without my permission. It caused my Acrobat to not funtion properly. (Acrotray prorblems).
Remove it from your programs!
Why would I want a 'freebie' (to be paid for later)  to compromise my paid for software?

What I would be even more worried about is a potential virus in such an installation. I would immediately uninstall the freebie and then do a repair on Acrobat. As for as asking us such a question does not make much sense. But you are welcome to vent a bit as you just have. Good luck.
As sort of suggested, I would initiate a virus scan of your system.

  • Pdf complete does not always create a correct pdf document

The HP Z230 I bought recently was equipped with PDF Complete to print to a pdf file.  Unfortunately, it is inferior to the freeware CutePDF, in that sometimes it doesn't convert all of the letters in the document, and the font is strange.
I've made print out pdf files using PDF Complete and CutePDF to compare the two outputs.   If somone from HP can point me to a place where I can upload both, you'll see the problem.  The source from each file was another pdf document on a CD.

  • Cannot open pdf files in pdf complete

I am unable to open some files using PDF Complete that I receive from emails.  I n particular, I receive one email regularly that is password protected.  When attempting to open it, I receive an error messaging that reads:  "The selected document cannot be opened"   This particular file does not allow me an option to right-click and open in Adobe Reader either,.  Is there a way to disable PDF Complete and open some other way or what other advice do you have?  Thank you!

    Okay, try this instead:
Launch Adobe Reader and go to Preferences (Command-K).
Select the Internet category and look for a checkbox on the right that says: Display PDF in browser using:… and uncheck the box if it's checked.
Close Preferences window and Quit Adobe Reader.
Now, Quit Safari if it's running.
Open your HD and go to HD/Applications/Safari.
Control-click on Safari and choose Show Package Contents.
Double-click on the Contents folder; inside is a group of other folders. If you see one labeled Frameworks, send it to the Trash and then close the window.
Also, go to ~/Library/Internet Plug-Ins and look through the list to see if you have one labeled "PDF Browser Plugin"; if not, that's good, so don't install one. If you do have one, remove it to your Desktop or the Trash, but don't empty the Trash yet.
Relaunch Safari and try to view a PDF again; post again with results.

  • Can't uninstall PDF Complete

My Windows 7 computer came with PDF Complete Special Edition pre-installed.   I can't do what I want with this program and was going to uninstall in order to Install Acrobat reader with form fill, and it won't uninstall from the Control Panel as it's supposed to.  I restarted my computer shut down all programs, and it still won't uninstall.

Are you getting an error message when trying to uninstall it?
You may try using Revo Uninstaller Freeware:
    http://www.revouninstaller.com/revo_uninstaller_free_download.html
You may also click the Start Menu, All Programs, locate the PDF Complete folder, double click it then use it's uninstaller.

  • PDF Complete has taken over my printer

I just purchased a Pavilion p6-2127c computer, running Win7, and an HP Photosmart 6510 printer.  Everything has been working great, up until PDF Complete installed.  I don't want to uninstall it, but it's now taken over my default computer such that it is now called "PDF Complete", and anything I try to print, it's trying to turn into a .pdf.  How do I make this stop?  I just want my printer to be my default, plain old 6510 printer.  Help, please.

It sounds like the PDF Complete program has become the default printer.  This can easily be changed as long as the printer is currently installed on the computer.
Click on Change your default printer to view a video and to get steps on how to change the default printer.
Essentially, you will need to do the following steps that are listed in Microsoft's document:
    1.  Go to Start>Devices and Printers
    2.  Right click the printer and select Set as Default Printer.
This should now put the check on your printer instead of PDF Complete.
Alternatively, you can manually select your printer when printing.  I do not recommend this approach as it can be cumbersome, but it can be helpful to know how to when you want to print to something other than the default printer.
When you select print, you should get the following window (photo provided by Microsoft):
You would click on what it is you want to print to.  For example:  If your printer was set to default and you wanted to save it as a PDF, you would select PDF Complete to accomplish this task without changing what the default printer is.
Both of these options will work, but I recommend setting the printer as the default and just choosing PDF Complete manually when you want to save as a PDF instead.

It does NOT appear in my Windows 7 (32) Prof programs list, so I cannot uninstall it.
I dont see any reference to it in the Firefox add-ons.
I dont see any entry in the program files folder.
I removed the Adobe reader software from my computer, then re-installed it from the web.
It still is present and I cannot get rid of it.
    Any advice will be appreciated.

I do apologise, it was the Adobe reader invoked by Firefox that had the issue.

  • I am getting a message that my complementary use period for "pdf complete" is expired.  Must I buy "pdf complete" to continue to download pdf files?

I am getting a message that my complementary use period for "pdf complete" is expired.  Must I buy "pdf complete" to continue to download pdf files?  I didn't download anything on my previous macbook pro to download pdf files, and I definitely didn't pay for pdf downloading software.

PDF Complete is not necessary. Apple's Preview application and Adobe's Acrobat Reader (both free) are all most people need for pdfs.
If you want to create pdf documents there are any number of applications for it. Easiest might be to just print to pdf, (File menu > Print > PDF button) in many applications.
    Best of luck.

  • I get a message that says I have to upgrade PDF Complete

The message appears on the top of what I want to print that says, PDF Complete Your complimentary period has ended.  thank you for using PDF complete.  Click here to upgrade.  It also prints out on my label.  Why can't I just print out the label.  It is an attachment to an e-mail I received, with return postage to send an item back.  This is driving me crazy.  Why, all of a sudden do I have to spend to upgrade???

Thanks for your quick reply.  I do have Adobe Reader on my computer.  I have never had this problem before.  I looked into my programs and I do not have one that says PDF Complete.  If I did, I was going to uninstall it.  You sound like you know what I am talking about.......do you think that this is because the sender sent it wrong?  I even contacted my HP Computer Assistant and spent about 1 hour installing and uninstalling the Adobe Reader.  I originally had the most recent version XI and she had me uninstall it and put in Adobe Reader X.  That did nothing either.  Do you have any suggestions for me?  I am out of ideas.

  • I JUST PURCHASED THE HP PDF COMPLETE COR[PORATE EDITION...I STILL COULD NOT PRINT...

I NEED HELP W/ HP PDF COMPLETE EDITION THAT I JUST PURCHASED...

That's a great question. I had to pull out my 6500A printer and test the feature out for you. And based on what I found, I can confirm that this type of scanning is possible from the printer. There is a small annoyance, but I'll explain that later.
First of all, you need to install teh Full Feature Software and Driver for your printer. Once this is done, select the Scan option from the printer display(not on your computer), select 'Computer', then choose your computer from the list, then scroll down, and select 'Save As Editable Text(OCR)' from the list. Once the scan is complete, the scan will be saved in your Documents folder as 'Scanxxxx.rtf'.
Now here's the annoyance. the RTF file format is not a picture format, but a document format. But it holds the pictures you just scanned. And you will need to select the pictures individually, right-click on them, and select 'Save As Picture' for each individual picture in that scan file. Not the most convenient method, but it's better than scanning each picture individually.
I hope this helps. Let me know if you have any problems with this.

  • What/who is 'PDF Complete?'

A PDF Complete banner attaches itself on all PDF documents I open with Acrobat Reader.  How can I stop/remove this banner?  Any help will be appreciated.  Thank you.

Are these documents you make, or that you get on the web, or something else?

  • Is PDF Complete  affiliated with Adobe?

Is PDF Complete Inc. an affiliate of Adobe or a competitor?
Is Adobe Reader still a standard FREE software, or has it been replaced with a $10 annual subscription?

PDF Complete is not affiliated with Adobe, no. It is a competitor. And it looks like it's trying to compete with Adobe Acrobat, not Adobe Acrobat Reader in that it allows text editing and a few of the other things that Acrobat does. Also, just like Acrobat, there is a cost associated with it. You would need to compare features to see what you need. Also keep in mind that third party pdf editors may or may not produce fully compliant pdf files. In other words, many may be fine but some may not be usable in some circumstances.
If you do not need editing capability, you can simply download Adobe Acrobat Reader DC for free to view/print/comment on pdf files. If you need to create pdf files, you can subscribe to the acrobat.com services (also known as PDF Pack).
    Hope that helps.

  • PDF Complete advertising logo

I need to know how to remove the PDF Complete Advertising
Logo which appears in the left hand corner of our documents once it
    has been converted to PDF.

    Hello legalbrief,
Thank you for posting! In order to edit a .pdf file created
by PDF Complete, you will need Acrobat professional.
If you're wanting more help with doing that, this question
would best be asked in the Acrobat Forums.

  • PDF Complete

I purchased PDF Complete, but failed to write serial number down.  Please contact me.  Thanks!

First, you are not addressing Adobe here, just fellow users. Second, I don't know what you purchased. "PDF Complete" doesn't mean anything to me.

  • A link to download a .pdf complete manual for illustrator cc

    Hello,
Does anyone know where i can d/load a complete manual or user guide for Adobe Illustrator CC. I have found overviews in pdf form but the only complete help guide i can find is online @ Adobe but not downloadable.
    thanks for any help

Thanks John, I gave you the big 10 points... now you can get that condo .
Thanks OldBob, it would be nice if all Adobe was going to offer was the goober-smoochin 'online help' that they could at least set it up like the old win32-help (I think) that would expand and you could print it out.
I finally broke down early this morning and expanded some of the individual online help files, copied them into word and then saved them as .pdf's. AFAIK, IIRC, a real PITA.

  • Printing completed form responces in the original PDF completed form format.

I sign into forms central, I see the responces to my form, but the answers are all in seprate fields. So to match the answers to the original PDF form, I must print the responces, and then mathch them with the original form. Is there a way to print the responces in the original PDF form format? So that the responces will appear in the PDF form (in this case a credit application) so that I may print the completed form?

    Check out this FAQ: http://forums.adobe.com/docs/DOC-1383
You can just save a response to PDF and then print the PDF. Note: This is a paid only feature.
