PDF displays grey lines.

Hello,
I'm working on a catalogue for my work.
I have been placing various text and images in my document and all went well untill now.
Every image is put in the same way and showed no abnormalities whatsoever.
I now have two images which look normal in my Indesign document but show grey lines on the top and bottom when I export it as a PDF document.
These are the only images that aren't displaying the right way.
Have looked on google for an answer with no success.
Please help!
Kind regards,
Ralph
PS. The images themselves do not contain the grey lines.

More info needed.
First. How are you viewing this PDF. If it’s Apple’s Preview forget about it and switch Acrobat or Reader.
If it’s not that, what type of images? What color model? What PDF export settings are you using?

  • Display has white and grey lines and blocks crisscrossing it and touch functions are not working properly on half the screen.

I dropped my iPhone 5S and it landed flat on it's face (it was in a protective case).  Since then my touch screen display is not working properly. I have white and grey lines and/or blocks crisscrossing the screen both horizontally and vertically.  Screen responds to touch in odd random ways, but rarely does what I am trying to do.  Can't call or receive calls because can't dial or answer phone via swipe. Can't text or read incoming texts. All functions seem to be working except that I can't access them because the touch screen is acting up. If I move the phone around it randomly accesses different apps or functions, but I have no control over them once the appear on the screen.  Touching screen just causes phone to randomly choose something else to open.  What have I damaged?

We cannot possibly tell. Obviously some hardware inside. Take it in to an Apple Store. They will offer you the opportunity to swap the phone for $269 in the US. Prices vary by country.

  • I have a macbook pro 10.6.8. The screen displays vertical grey lines how do i fix it?

I have a macbook pro 10.6.8. The screen displays vertical grey lines. I tried Crtl.command.eject... Did not work. I tried Command.crtl.p.r. way; Didnt work. What is wrong with my mac and how can i fix it?

NVRAM reset is command, option, P and R.
Restart the computer and immediately hold the four keys down. Keep holding the keys down, and let the Mac chime three times, then release the keys. Be patient it could take some time.
That being said what you describe may be a hardware issue, so the NVRAM reset probably won't work.
You can get a free diagnosis at an Apple genius bar. Make an appointment and take the MBP in,

  • When I save my word doc as a pdf, I'm getting all kinds of grey lines. Any suggestions?

I'm creating a flyer in word, using photos and text boxes. All kinds of crazy grey lines show up when I save it as a pdf.
Would be  grateful for any suggestions as to what I can do to correct this.

    Hi Stacy
I have Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro. The odd thing is, the version I had prior to this (and unfortunately I don't remember what it was) didn't do this.
Thanks so much for responding to my question.

  • IPod Touch screen has gone white with grey lines

I have had my iPod Touch for a year and a half, so unfortunately it is out of warranty. About two months ago it started behaving strangely. Every other time I turned it on there would be a white screen which after a few seconds would get slightly darker with vertical grey lines. The screen was still responsive, and you could hear clicking. Turning the iPod off and back on would resolve the problem and the screen would reappear with no problems at all.
Unfortunately this got worse. Now I am unable to turn the iPod on without getting the white screen with grey lines. The iPod is still responsive. I can plug it into itunes and browse it normally.
I've reset the iPod many times and completely reset it through iTunes with no luck.
Any suggestions? Is this a hardware fault and is it possible to resolve? Or is there something else I can try? Any help would be very appreciated.

My old Touch 2G has the same issue. The Apple Store Genius couldn't tell what's the problem. However, I observed that the white grey striped display appears almost every time (or at least far more often) when the iPod lays on a ground. It is fixed by tilting it 90°, so that the dock connector is pointing to the ground.
And sometimes the density of stripes changes by pressing home (no, I don't mean switching from spotlight to first home screen page, because this happens in lock screen, when home button does nothing) or pulling out the dock cable. So I think it's something near the dock connector and home button. Hardware fail, maybe the not so fitting dock cable in the rounded dock connector is the issue.

  • Grey lines / shades on the screen

    Hi,
I have really strange problem with display in my iPhone 4s. Only in some applications and on some parts of screen there are visible strange grey lines/shades. Did you ever experience something like that? Is it software or rather hardware problem? Thank you in advance.

What kind of problems did the ebay seller mentioned in his posting ? this is significant because he may have already diagnosed the problems.
If he is a reputable seller and he did not accurately stated the issues described in your posting, you could demand your money back.
Depending on what and how he described the condition of the PB you may also have a good reason to contact ebay.
Overall and from your description it sounds like your PB has serious issues and you may not be able to repair it yourself. One thing that you do not want to do is to attempt to replace the screen yourself ; I have done it and I can promise you that I will not do it again. On the other hand it could be a problem with the video card.

  • Grey line in the middle on the screen

help a grey line in the middle of the screen

Probably a hardware issue, it could be a failing display or graphics card. I'd recommend running Apple Hardware Test in Extended Mode 2-3x to see if it finds any errors. At some point you will need to make an appointment at  our local Apple Store or AASP for professional assesment.
BTW please complete your profile, you can find the link under Your Stuff in the upper right of this screen. At the very least let us know the version of OS X on your computer and what computer you own.

  • Grey lines running through screen

My 30GB ipod classic has thick grey lines on the display screen. How do i get rid of them.?

Bet your warranty just ran out right?
This stuff is designed to fail.
They all crap out after your warranty runs out.   Electronic junk designed to make you go spend more next time.

  • There's a squiggly, grey line going down my screen

There's this grey line that going down on the entire side of the right of my screen. It only shows up when certain colors are on that side of the screen, so I haven't really been able to notice it and know how long it's been there until today. Anybody have any sort of solutions?

my computer displays grey screen and apple logo for 10 minutes or more during start up and shut down. sometimes it refuses to shut down . this issues started after installing OS lion. what do i do?

I don't think it's exactly an incomplete installation brody, but most likely in-correct permissions somewhere along the line that either happened, or became magnified during the upgrade. Also, it could be corruption as well.
First thing to do, is boot up holding down Shift key to do a safe-boot so we an clean up any corrupted OS caches, after that do another reboot, but go to the Lion recovery, and scan the HD for errors, repair any if you find them, and then try to do a Repair Permissions job.
That should fix the issue, if not, we can start doing a PRAM reset  and SMC for good measure.

  • Rev B AIR Display thin lines?

Are these lines on all displays of the rev B Macbook Airs or do most people have normal displays without this phenomenon? Do these lines exist on the previous Rev A or not at all?

    Hello,
I have had a very bad experience with MBAs over late November and December, I tried to buy one without the grey lines problem in my area (Ottawa and Montreal), and they all had the problem, very, very disappointing!
From Best Buy to the Apple Store, I must have seen between 7 to 10 machines, they all had terrible screens, except for one which still had an odd screen, but with less noticeable lines (I sometimes wonder if I should have grabbed it, but why pay more than 3K $$$ for something less than perfect?)
I ultimately settled for a MB with a 2.4 GHz processor, not only is it barely heavier than a MBA (4.5 pounds vs 3 pounds), it comes with way more power and features (faster, optical drive, glass touchpad, updgradeable HD, memory, etc.), and is CHEAPER, pretty good call in hindsight.
Of course, had the MBA not had the grey lines, I would have kept it and paid the big bucks...
The Apple Store manager in Montreal claimed he could not see the lines, whilst many Best Buy employees and some "Geniuses" at the Apple Store could "see what I meant". The guy was very nice, but ultimately, if I see the lines, and if many people over the internet report the lines... it's not a matter of belief or faith, folks.
Bottom line is, I have not yet seen a MBA display which was not HORRIBLE. My MBP and MB put them to shame...
    hope this helps.

  • Grey Lines on my iPhone5

There are ten, broad, grey lines across the display of my iPhone5.  The display is virtually unreadable.  How do I get rid of them?

That's a hardware failure. make an appointment at the genius bar and take it in for service.

  • Vertical Grey lines appearing on screen

Smudgy type grey lines appearing on right hand side of my imac screen , they run from top to bottom with varing degrees. Can someone advise as what to do.

Run Apple Hardware Test in Extended Mode, if you get a error code then take it to your local Apple Store or AASP for a repair estimate. Chances are it's your graphics card failing. If you would like some additional information please read LCD displays common problems.

  • Grey Line...

    What's up discussion people.
    It's been a while.
So, for about two years now, my ipod touch (4g) has had this strange grey line
just a bit to the Left of the center of the screen. This isn't causing trouble at the
moment, but I would like to know if this is something serious just in case.
Also, just real quick, what's up with the ipod only being able to get music and apps
from one computer at a time?
Never done that before, and no I haven't updated the software or whatever since at
    least last year.
    Thanks guys,
    Jimmay
    P.S.
This line is vertical, and very thin. If you focus on it, it becomes very, very small grey
    dots.

If it's been that way for two years, I doubt it's something serious. Without being able to see the iPod I'm just guessing, but it sounds like a hardware failure in the display that's caused that column of pixels to be inactive.
Also, just real quick, what's up with the ipod only being able to get music and apps from one computer at a time?
That has been the case with all iOS devices since they were first released. It's not something new. Some people have, I believe, been able to add content from more than one computer to an iPod by turning on manual management on the Summary tab for the iPod it in iTunes, but synching to multiple computers is not supported by Apple.
    Regards.

  • IPad has grey lines

Recently, I dropped my iPad upon (hard institutional) carpet, as which point, grey lines started rolling across the screen, (examples at the end) but after a little while I came across someone who had fixed the issue by whacking it with some vigor against their knee. I tried this, and it fixed my issue. Yesterday, my iPad was whacked by my friend, and now I have reencountered my issue. I tried whacking it, as it was what worked before, but this time it didn't work at all. I have whacked it as hard as I can without being dangerously close to breaking it, and I'm all out of ideas. I would rather not have to go have this fixed by the big Apple machine, but I could pay for it if it were to come to that.
    Thanks!
