PDF document is blank

When opening doc_A.pdf (say protected by policy A) on a particular PC, login screen is displayed. But after login, PDF remains blank. Nothing is displayed. PC has Adobe Reader 7.0, IE 6.0 & Windows 2000 Professional.
On opening doc_B.pdf (say protected by policy B ) on the same PC, document is displayed after login.
Please note that doc_A.pdf is displayed correctly for the same user on another PC. PC has same software & OS as above.
What could possibly cause the blank PDF? Is it some setting in Adobe Reader??

Export how: using Acrobat, or ExportPDF?

  • PDF documents are blank but epub documents are not

    Hello All;
I have an install of ACS 4. Installed on the following.
    Linux version 2.6.28.1-xxxx-std-ipv4-32 ([email protected]) (gcc version 4.3.2 (Debian 4.3.2-1) ) #2 SMP Fri Jan 30 09:55:02 UTC 2009
I have a production license and I am able to fulfill books - both epub and PDF.
However, when I attempt to download/view the books in Adobe Digital Editions, the PDF files are blank. I should mention that the PDF files that are blank, are PDFs that I grabbed from public domain sites (archive.org). The epub documents that I grabbed from the same source, work find in Adobe Digital Editions.
I would also add that the sample books that are included with Adobe Content Server work just fine. So, I am to assume that there is something 'wrong' with the PDFs that I have.
Anyone see this before? Anyone know where I could look for answers?
    Thanks much.
    Glen

Digital Editions supports essentially the PDF/A profile (plus some extras see the FAQ at http://www.adobe.com/products/digitaleditions/faq/ for the full list).   The most commonly noticed thing that is missing compared to the current PDF 1.7 spec is JPEG2000 support.
What happens when you view these files in Digital Editions before your package them?

  • Pdf documents become blank

I'm having a perplexing problem. I've been using Word to make documents then selecting PRINT then SAVE AS PDF then uploaded them to a website for others to access. I did this for about 30 different documents with no problem. Suddenly, beginning on a certain date, each time I repeated this same process, the pdf document looked fine on my computer but when I posted it onto a website for others to download and they brought it into their computer, it was blank. I went into the website, downloaded the same document to my computer and it was blank on my computer as well. Now every time I try to create a pds document, no matter what the application, this happens. I have found nothing in the Word forum or any other application forum that address this issue. This is the error I get in Adobe Acrobat Professional when trying to convert one of the Word documents to a pdf
    %%[ Error: undefined; OffendingCommand: –œ‡°±· ]%%
%%[ Flushing: rest of job (to end-of-file) will be ignored ]%%
%%[ Warning: PostScript error. No PDF file produced. ] %%
    Please help!

This is a PostScript error, but it's hard to tell what type of error. Do the documents contain graphics? Have you tried changing the font? If changing the font doesn't work, a tedious but effective method is to start ripping out sections of the document to see what part is causing the error.
    Hope this helps.

  • PDF document opening blank with just a frame.

I have a computer when it opens up a PDF file that is created by a certain user I get a blank document with a frame. If I open the same PDF on another computer it opens fine. I can open other PDF files on this computer with no problems just when I try to open PDFs from this one user. Is there a way to set Acrobat Reader back to its default settings to see if that will help.
    Things that I have tried.
    - Uninstall and reinstall Acrobat Reader
    - Running version 9.3.3
    - Running Windows XP SP3
    - Tried a new user profile on the computer
    Thanks
    Matt

    Hi usatravel,
I'm having the same exact trouble with opening a pdf file.  I'm able to view it from another computer and I can view other PDF files from my computer but when it comes to opening certain docs in the company database, I'm not able to view, I get just gray screen.  I'm sure it has something to do with the settings.  My technical support team is baffled and he can't seem to find the trouble.  He's uninstalled the program and re-installed it, but to no avail the same problem.  If anybody out there is familar with the problem, please help!

  • PDF documents send blank on my Mac Book

When I fill in information on a PDF and save it to my desk top. I send it as an attachment but when it arrives at end user the info is blank

Keep in mind, video files sizes can be rather large and most email cliients have restrictions on file size. I think Mac mail is 10MB.
Select the video in iPhoto the click Info from the menu bottom right corner of the iPhoto window.
You should see file size top right corner of the iPhoto window.
An alterantive, if you use YouTube, would be to post the video there then send the link to the video via email.

  • When I open a pdf document from my dropbox to view it, the document shows up blank, even though it is filled out. This also happened with pdf documents that have been e-mailed to me.

When I open a pdf document from my dropbox to view it, the document appears blank, even though I know the information is actually there. This also has happened with pdf documents that have been e-mailed to me, then opened to view and they are blank?? Why are they showing up blank?

When I open emails with PDFs I click on the attachment (doing this all on my iPad) it gives me the option to "open in iBooks", I accept then after that the document is sucked into my iPad but I can't do anything with the PDF after that.  Where is the actual file on my iPad? Why can't I email or send these PDFs to my cloud (Dropbox)?
It's like once they go into iBooks they're stuck forever.

  • While creating a PDF document usinf Adobe Acrobat Pro 9, it generates additional blank pages.

While creating a PDF document using Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro, it generates additional blank pages. How do I resolve this issue?

I might make a wild guess that you are using WORD and have used hard page breaks. If that is the case, then likely what happens is when you print to PDF the document is being reflowed to match the printer and the forced page break may end up on the next page and be forcing a second page. Just a guess.

  • I have a word document that I have put hyperlinks in and turned into a pdf.  When I email and receiver opens in iPad the document is blank.  When I do a file save as pdf the document appears and the hyperlinks work but the document has much of the content

I have a word document that I have put hyperlinks in and turned into a pdf.  When I email and receiver opens in iPad the document is blank.  When I do a file save as pdf the document appears and the hyperlinks work but the document has much of the content turned into symbols.  What is going wrong?

You select the printer properties and set the appropriate page size (I think there is a place to set it in PDF Maker too, but not sure). In the printer, this is equivalent to putting the proper paper in the printer.

  • Safari 7.0.6, using Adobe Acrobat 11.0.10, aren't rendering pdf files in the Print Preview screen.  Additionally, only a single, blank page prints for a multi-page pdf document.  Any ideas?

Safari 7.0.6, using Adobe Acrobat 11.0.10, isn't rendering pdf files in the Print Preview screen.  Additionally, only a single, blank page prints for a multi-page pdf document.  Any ideas?

Figured it out.  It had nothing to do with the software levels of Safari or Adobe Acrobat.  Here's the fix:
    Open Finder/Applications
    Search "Internet Plug-Ins"
Move any Adobe plug-ins to the trash
    Quit Safari
    Launch Safari
Your pdf document should now render in Print Preview and print properly.

  • Blank pdf documents in Adobe

Hi. Can anyone help with this please? When I am sent pdf documents by Mail, and I try to open them with Adobe Reader, I am sometimes told the required font (Times New Roman in this case) 'cannot be found or created' and the document appears as a blank page, except perhaps for a header logo in another font. The font exists in my font folder so what am I doing wrong? OS 10.9.5/Mail V 7.3/Adobe Reader V 11.0.10

Thanks again. That works for pdf files generally on my Mac but they open fine with Adobe also. Not so the ones sent via Mail, which still open as a blank page telling me the font cannot be found. I don't understand why it can't find this font when the font is clearly in the folder. Is there some preference I should set to help it load or find this font? Or is it some interface issue between Mac and Adobe? Apologies for my ignorance!

  • PDF documents open as a blank page.

I have downloaded Adobe Acrobat X onto my new computer running Windows 7 but cannot open documents like pdf online credit card statements online.  All I get is a blank page.  Also, I cannot download a pdf from an email as a pdf.  The option I get to "save as" is "all files".  I am able to open pdf documents that I have transfered to the computer on a thumb drive.  I am able to save documents as PDF in Word.
    Thank you for your help!!!!

Have you tried to download the files (typically right click on the link) and open them in Acrobat that way, rather than the plugin to the browser. There may also be an issue with the browser. You did not mention the browser you are using, but might try FireFox or such (assuming you are currently using IE).

  • PDF document showing up blank in Reader 7.0, 8.1.0 and 8.1.2

I have a PDF document that does not render correctly under Reader 7.0, 8.1.0 and 8.1.2, on Windows XP SP2.
When I load the PDF, I will see part of the document page display correctly in the view area. As soon as I scroll the view area, the new area will show up as blank. If I scroll back to the original visible area, it will now be blank too. Print preview will also show the document as being blank. Printing gives a blank page.
If I close and reopen the document, I will be able to see again the part of the document currently visible in the view area, but scrolling will again make it turn blank. This happens only with this document. Other PDFs display fine.
The document also displays fine in Adobe Professional 8.0, and fine under the Apple PDF viewer app in Mac OS X. I have tried upgrading, reinstalling Adobe Reader and the problem remains.

The PDF is from an external source, so I can't give a 100% accurate answer.
File properties give the Application as "Canon", PDF version "1.3".

  • When I select a link and a pdf opens, when I close that document a blank page shows and I have to the click the "return" to get back to the original page

Example- I do a search and get a list of web sites, I select one which is a pdf document.
After closing that pdf a blank page appears instead of returning to the original page of search results.
Can I set up Firefox to automatically return to the original page?
    Thank you

Is the PDF opening outside of Firefox in Adobe Reader, Adobe Acrobat, or another external application? Usually Firefox closes the blank window or tab immediately in that case. However, I have noticed that if the link was launched using the Ctrl or Shift key, or middle mouse button, then Firefox might leave it open. Have you noticed a pattern along these lines?
