Pdf document not sized properly when print is intiated from Outlook Quick Print
I have some pdf documents that print properly (fit on printed page) when the PDF is being viewed within Adobe Reader X (10.1.4) and I initiate printing from right within Adobe Reader. However, when the same PDF is printed via Outlook's "Quick Print (with the job being routed to Adobe Reader but not initiated by Adobe Reader), the resulting PDF printout is slightly shifted and sized incorrectly.
Any ideas as what the problem might be? We're trying to set things up so that PDFs sent to a special Outlook email address are automatically printed without user intervention.

I believe the PDF you are trying to print is "larger than A4 in size". When we explicity open Reader and print the pdf doc then it scales down the pdf page size but when you print directly from outlook then it prints as per the original size of the document.

Document not showing properly when opening in Acrobat 9 Pro
When I create a document in InDesign and export it as a PDF, I want to see what it looks like as the PDF. One of the documents that I opened does not look as it should. It only has the photo on the ad but is missing the red background and the words on the ad. As a thumbnail, it looks correct. But, it is not showing up correctly when I open it in Acrobat. Some of the other ads are fine but this one in particular is not showing me all the elements. What do I do to fix this?
Yes, I have the most current version of AA9. I exported the document from InDesign using the PDF exporter. That is what I have used for years and it has worked fine. I just installed CS4 yesterday.
I think I realized what the problem is but I don't know how to fix it properly. I actually went back to the preferences in AA9 to the document color options in accessibility and changed it back to its original state (which, I believe, is where nothing is checked). I had originally changed it because I was trying to experiment with the background of the program. It's black and when I open a PDF, I can't see the black border. But I mistakenly changed the document color. Which brings me to the question of: how do you change the background color of the page so that I can see the black border on the document? I sell advertising so I need to be sure that when people send me their ads, they have black borders. And I can't tell when it has the background behind the document so dark. Acrobat Reader has a white background.
Additionally, can I still install the latest Acrobat Reader and use that instead of AA9 if I want to? It seems easier. -
(Landscape) Splash screen on mobile not sizing properly when device is held in Portrait
I have a mobile project (AIR) for iPad and iPhone that has landscape splash screens when the user taps the icon. However, when the user is holding the device in portrait mode, the splash screen image opens and resizes a landscape image to show in portrait mode. It really looks bad too! I have only provided landscape images. Do anyone know what is happening here?
Does your app support portrait? If so, you should be providing the necessary portrait icons.
If not, you should be restricting your apps orientation. An event is fired off upon orientation change giving you a chance to control it:

In my landscape-only apps it's specified in the app XML and then I simply listen for changes. e.g.

Although this may not even be necessary anymore, the XML should really allow orientation specification limits just like device limits. That code allows the user to use landscape or landscape upside down (Apple requires this) and neglects portrait or portrait upside down. -
After I scan a document and try to email or save it, I get an error message that the document may be a read only. At that point HP Scan hangs and I have to force quit. I can scan fine from Systems Prefernce, but that is not as convenient.

Some PDF Documents are Missing Letters when Printing
We use a Windows Server 2008 R2 Enterprise (64-bit) server as our print server. Ever since we moved our printers to this server, several of our existing PDF documents have missing letters when they print. If you modify your print properties and choose "Print as Image", the documents print correctly with no missing letters.
The missing letters seem to come in specific combinations, such as ti, ft, fa, etc.
Our previous print server was a Windows Server 2003 (32-bit) machine and these documents all printed fine on that server.
Are there any known issues with printing PDF documents on a 64-bit print server, or with 64-bit drivers?

The image you posted shows the fonts that are embedded in your document: both Calibri and Myriad Pro. However, the second instance of Calibri indicates that some some of the Calibri characters were encoded differently, and I suspect based on the combo characters you listed, these are glyphs and are what your printer is having trouble processing.
The usual solution for print server issues is to make sure all drivers and firmware are updated.
The answer to your question regarding embedding fonts completely is to change your Adobe pdf print preferences to embed all fonts, not just a subset. This must be done when the pdf is being created initially. You can change font embedding by choosing a joboption like Press Quality that includes full font embedding or by modifying the joboption you are already using. In Windows, you can do this at the time of print by selecting the Advanced button next to the printer selection dropdown and changing settings there, in advance by modifying the printing preferences from your printers menu, or by editing the joboptions in Acrobat Distiller. -
I had photoshop elements 8 installed on my previous computer and it did not work properly when it came to sizing photos for a website I was adding to. I now have a new computer which runs windows 7. Is it worth installing photoshop elements 8 again on my new computer or will it be a waste of time?

No real solution to problem 1, stationary tends to look different depending on the client, as for 2 Mail does not export to pdf but can print to pdf, however you still get the mail headers.

If after you charge it for about three hours and it only last about five minutes the battery is probably dead or there could be another hardware problem. I would go back to the Apple store and ask them specifically how can it be OK if the fully charged battery only lasts five minutes.

Clip inspector in imovie not working properly - when I select a picture (in project library) - and select clip adjustment it tells me that I need to select one or more clips to view Inspector tools and when I select a movie clip and then click on audio adjustments the audio adjustment appears as a speaker icon and I don't know how to get to the various audio options? It was working fine one minute and then I seemed to lose the functionality. Also editing a photo in a photo or getting rid of ken burns effect etc does not seem to work. help
Can anyone shed any light on this as I am having the same problem? One minute it works fine, the next you get the error message above.

In other things, it seemed like the only time my MacBook was working was when I had Snow Leopard without the 10.6.8 update download that was supposed to be done to prepare for OS X Lion.
When I look at the information of my HD it says that I have 10.6.8 but that was the install that it claimed to have failed and caused me to restart resulting in all of the repeated problems.
Also, because my computer is currently down, and I've lost all files how would that effect the use of my iPhone? Because if it doesn't get fixed by the time OS 5 is released, how would I be able to upgrade?! -
