PDF documents get ZZZ extension in Filenet

I am trying to archive outbound documents from a 4.7 SAP system to Filenet and when the document is transferred to Filenet it shows up with a file extension of .zzz.
We are using ACSAP v2.1. We have configured the SAP system as outlined in the connector documentation. The Filenet consultant believes that the problem is in the SAP configuration, but I believe I have looked through all the archivelink configuration in SAP and can't find anything.
Has anyone experienced this problem before and can advise how to resolve?

Thanks for your quick response. I am not sure what you are asking. The below are all the entries I have in DC30. The only one that looks like it would be dealing with pdf to me is the one labelled PDF. Any ideas?

Secured PDF Documents get silently printed if you choose "Save as Postscrip

I was editing one of those secured Adobe Acrobat files (the kind that you can't save, only print). I tried saving the file, acrobat complained that you have to print, don't save. So I tried "Save as PDF" from the print dialog in Leopard. The printer dialog complained that you have to save the file first. So I tried the next option down the list, Save as Postscript. Acrobat complained again about saving first. Then I tried Send as Fax (to possible get at the TIFF file) and that didn't work so I opened the console and to my amazement the Save as Postscript sent the file to a network printer (at work, I was at home, it had confidential info). I think the default option for printing is "Use Last Printer" which is annoying, it should use the default that was defined in Tiger before I upgraded!!
I don't know who's bug it is, but I would've NEVER known/expected that it was actually sitting on a printer if I didn't check the console log (I've since enabled Show completed jobs).
Save as... should never send the job to the PRINTER!

That's not unreasonable, but the mechanism of determining the default printer has changed drastically since Tiger; it used to be in Printer Setup Utility, but that app doesn't exist anymore, and this was moved to the Preferences.

You're right, this is bad, and you should send feedback to Apple and/or Adobe with a detailed set of steps on how to reproduce this problem.

ODrive Edit in Place PDF Document Manual Versioning enabled Error

Any one has tried or able to do edit in place with ODrive and PDF Document type?
I have manual versioning enable. When I am doing edit in place from ODrive for PDF Document getting following error.
I have manually check out the document before doing Edit from ODrive.
Need help to resolve this issue.

I have non blocking serial approval workflow.
In my workflow I have attachment as PDF document to be signed. URI of that document is from Odrive. Foe example O:\sjrwmd\DMSFAContainer\DMSFALibrary\36397\P041282\978599\Invoice_with_2_blank_sig_OD_2.pdf
When task has been assign to any user, from task detail page of the worklist application user click / open that pdf file and sign the document. When user save this document Odrive should save that to Contentdb.
Just wanted to know that why it is not ODrive bug?
I was able to do following test It works only in Acrobat 6.0.
Steps I did,
1) Upload pdf file to folder with manual versioning enable.
2) Manually checked out file from web ui.
3) Login to ODrive using same user
4) Created html file with link (Please replace href portion to your url of the file)

Creating Non Copyable PDF document in Portal

Hi,
In our portal we save and Print report to PDF. Now business requires that the some of the PDF documents cannot be copyable by the users.
Is this technically possible to do and how can achieve it.

How is the PDF document getting generated? Is it a Smartform or from ADS? I think it is technically possible to limit what the end user can do with the actual PDF. But if you are displaying a PDF to the user on the screen, the users can always take a screenshot and print the screen, unless you remove the Print screen functionality So, how are you going to get away with this?

Sudden printing problems with scanned pdf documents

Hi, I suddenly experience problems when I want to print scanned pdf documents.
Since 2 years, I am using an iMac with a Fujitsu ScanSnap S1500M and a Samsung ML-2525W. I also use Acrobat Pro 9.0 provided with the scanner. I scan documents, save them as pdfs and print them. Worked fine until just recently. If I print scanned pdf documents, the printer give white pages. Other pdf documents get printed without problems.
I use OS X Yosemite (10.10.1) and ScanSnap Manager 3.2.L63.
Any advice is highly appreciated

Hi Roger - the problem was going from 10.6.7 to 10.6.8. That is when all of the printing problems began, as well as the wifi getting flaky. I was able to get the iMac speaking politely to the printer by installing Repair 10.6.8 and re-adding the Canon printer (see below):
Printer “failure”
Probably the single most common 10.6.8 problem, at least as evidenced by a massive 17 page thread in Apple Support Communities, is a failure to print. The typical symptom is that the printer driver software pauses, displaying a message that states something like: “printer-state-message="/usr/libexec/cups/backend/lpd failed" or “/usr/libexec/cups/backend/dnssd failed.” Not all printers have this problem, but users report seeing the symptom in a variety of different printers.
As is often the case with update-related problems, reinstalling 10.6.8 from the combo updater may eradicate the symptom. Another possible solution is modifying a printer file in the /etc/cups/ppd directory (as detailed in the above-linked thread).
Unfortunately, none of these solutions are guaranteed to work. What does reliably fix the problem is to downgrade back to 10.6.7. If you’d rather stick with 10.6.8, you can instead downgrade just the quartet of printer-related files that appear to be the root cause of the symptom. These are the socket, dnssd, lpd and ipp files, located in the /usr/libexec/cups/backend directory.
A Mac user wrote an application, Repair10.6.8 (direct download link), that automatically downgrades these four files for you. Several users report success with this program. After running the Repair app, you may also need to “reset printing system” by selecting the command from the contextual menu for the printer name in the Print & Fax System Preferences pane.

In any case, you may want to:
- instruct Firefox to handle PDF files in a specific way by going into Tools > Options > Applications and selecting the option you want for the PDF files
- reinstall Adobe Reader and its Firefox plugin
- install another reader instead of Adobe Reader. I recommend Foxit Reader ( http://www.foxitsoftware.com/pdf/reader/ ), since it's free, VERY light, VERY fast, safe and also has a Firefox plugin (make sure you don't have both Adobe Reader plugin and Foxit Reader plugin enabled/installed at the same time in Firefox)

Can you open Reader by itself? If so, check if disabling Protected Mode improves the situation [Edit | Preferences | Security (Enhanced)].

Can you open the Preview program without loading a file, like by itself?
If it doesn't load then I suspect a corrupt Preview preference file.
Deleting the System Preference or other .plist file
Can you open other files with Preview, like jpg's and images?
How about other PDFs? or is it just that one you have downloaded?

How about if you right click on the PDF and select Save Link As..., and then open it locally from within Reader? Does it work ok then? That might be a workaround until the issue within the browser is resolved.

The documents I’m trying to read are already saved on my computer, under various different headings, I know that we have a server, so I only assume these documents are saved on here, as I said before I’m not good with all this techno stuff. I do my work each week ( on a payroll system) and save the documents for each company, they automatically go to the correct place. I never request for them to be saved in a certain place ( well not that I’m aware of) . I then on occasions need to open up this information, it is then that I can’t read or open the documents.
