Pdf drag and drop directly to device?

I used to be able to do this with my Ipod Touch 4G but now i seem to be forced to add to the books library on itunes and afterwards press sync, at the least id like not to be forced to press sync =/ but i remember that i used to be able to just find the pdf, then drag and drop directly to the ipod touch (on itunes) without having to add it to my itunes library
and ideas what happened

You mentioned that its not possible with JS.
Are you aware of any other options?

Combining PDFs - drag and drop errors

We regularly assemble large numbers of documents by gathering pages from 5 or more seperate documents using various drag and drop methods.
As it's a simple collation, we'd been able to simply drag a document icon from the finder to the corrent point in the final documents pages/thumbnail view to add it.
This works well when combining two documents - but when you combine three or more, you get a very strange behaviour:
Acrobat will continue to re-copy content from the first drag and dropped document, rather than content from the subsequent documents!
And this drives us crazy.
Our workaround requires us to open each document one at a time in thumbnail view and drag between these views - which seems pointless when you're moving the entire content of each document into the other.
Anyone else experienced this issue? Anyone have any insights?

Drag and Drop Mp3s stop working

I have 30 GB IPOD video. Till a couple of days, I was always able to drag and drop, folders containing mp3 files that I created in past from CDs etc and stored on my hard disc, directly on to my IPOD and it would add them to my IPOD music library. Now It appears doing so but I Cant see the newly added songs any more. I also noticed that the number of songs do not show any increase either.
I tried fist update etc. I tried to install the lates software etc. Then I did a restore which does a wipe and load. None of these seem to work. Finally I noticed just about the only way to add new sets of mp3s is first add them to my Itunes Music library on my hard disk and then drag them from Itunes library to my ipod. Essentially what used to be a one step process now has become into two steps which I hate.

Chris I am afraid you are wrong. Drag and drop directly to ipod without first establishing those songs in Itunes library worked fine in all previous versions of Itunes software. However, in the newest version, if you tried to do that it didnt work. Otherwise I would not ask the question. I have been using it and quite experienced as such and I have eliminated all the possible solutions.
However, I did find a solution. Instead of dragging and droping on the the right sided of your Ipop/ Music space... if you dropped to the left of "music" right on to the title column space it works just fine. This obviously is a bug and no need to fight over that. I am sure Apple guys would fix it in the later versions. However, I have to spend a couple of days frustrated trying all the stupid *** solutions like (update this update that.. nonsensical solutions that people suggest thinking the other guy asking the question is toltal idiot. By the way this happens a lot).

Drag and Drop Problem v10.5.3.3

After a recent HD crash, I was forced to reinstall iTunes onto my laptop. Using version 10.5.3.3. I loaded up a couple new CDs, but when I try to drag and drop to the device icon, I get the red circle with a slash through it icon. I have set this computer to manually update. I can't seem to drag and drop anything into the device. Any suggestions?

Drag and dropping of ebooks in to iOS devices

Hi-
Has anyone else noticed that the Drag and dropping of ebooks / pdfs onto iOS devices, in iTunes has dissapeared?
Is there ANY other way to get ebooks, and PDFs on the ios devices OTHER than setting up an iTunes sync?
It would be nice if there was an option in the Mavericks iBooks application to "add to iPad" or to drag it in from there.

According to your description, when you create a Data Source View in BIDS/SSDT, you can't see the tables in the pane. Right?
In this scenario, when creating data source, please make sure you select a correct data provider. For example, it you connect to SQL Server database, you should use
Native OLE DB\SQL Server Native Client. Then please test your connection to the data source.
If the tables still can't be displayed, please make sure you select proper database and the check tables existence in the database.

If you could drag and drop pages before, it wasn't in Reader. You no doubt had Adobe Acrobat (Pro or Standard) which shouldn't be confused with Adobe Acrobat Reader. They recently added Acrobat to the name of Adobe Reader so the confusion about which product you had and/or have is understandable.

I'm trying to archive (for myself and others for easy access) about 50 fairly complex .ai files in a single Illustrator Default PDF and maintain editability and preserve layer and grouping integrity for every separate file, and, i'm probably going to have to do this hundreds of times (at least!) in the future. Once i save the initial first pdf file through Illustrator (wish didn't even have to do this, but seems no way to do in Bridge), then open the resulting pdf w Acrobat Pro, can i then just select an entire folder's worth of ai files in Bridge, drag and drop them into the pages panel and still have the dragged and dropped files also preserve all their AI info and layer/ group integrity? An if not, thinking if not based on 20 similar experiments, what's a fast way to do this. Doing this manually each time: opening each file in AI then saving as AI pdf, then combining and arranging them all after the fact, would be, well, fairly effed in terms of time, carpal tunnel, arthritis etc. Experimented w Bridge PDF Output batching (terrible rasterized lo-res results, but great for its intended purpose) and just dragging and dropping into Acrobat (lose complicated layer names and info, all flattened to single layer). Any help most appreciated, and as i do not have regular access to das interwebs (i live on a boat) would appreciate and heed gentle admonishment if i've misposted or broached any community etiquette here. I've researched this as well as i can but can't find anything efficient/ elegant not involving InDesign, and even then the details are skimpy. Thank You! Getting mentally exhausted and not a little loopy. Keep in mind had to teach myself both Illustrator, Acrobat etc with access to the very limited offline help menus (the boat), so a complex answer involving learning InDesign would be learning curve can't even imagine with everything else struggling to do. PS If it helps I'm running the diligent dogged dusty beloved workhorse CS4 Design Premium on 27" monitor 2010 Mac (OS X 10.6.8), and took advantage of rare housesitting net access to install all most recent updates of everything, i'm barely competent w AI, PS, BR and been tackling Acrobat for past couple of months now....

im glad that somebody is atleast trying. perhaps i need to be more clear.
i will step by step describe the issue in detail.
1) i open an email that contains an attachment .dxf or .pdf
2) i click on the attachment shown in the email and aprompt comes up asking if i want to open or save the attachment.
3) i select save. (by default it saves to a downloads folder. but i have also chosen to use other folders (when i did that it wouldnt save them)
4) i highlight the downloads arrow on the right top side of my browser and click it
5) it pulls down a list of the files that i USED to be able to click and drag onto my destop, or anyplace i chose
6) used to be when i clicked and held the left mouse button down on top of a file of my choosing it would highlight and as i began to drag, a ghost image would appear of the file i was dragging. showing a (/) symbol next to it showing i couldnt drop the file within the browser and a + simbol showing that i could drop the file when the file was hovering over a place where i could drop the file such as my desktop or other folder. now, when i click and hold on the file.... I DONT get anything. when i drag. nothing follows. while i am "dragging" in the area that is my browser, i get the pointy finger icon. as soon as i enter an area where i could have dropped the file as before, i get my standard cursor arrow.
its really as if the drag and drop feature just dosent work IN FIREFOX.

How come no voice memo files show up when I go into my iPhone via My Computer? All it shows are the videos and pictures in the DCIM folder, but not the voice memos. Is there another way to access the voice memos other than through iTunes?

If you subscribed to iTunes match the songs are kept in icloud. If you didn't but you did save the actual iTunes library folder which should include the music, video, etc. you should be able to just drag this file back to your machine in the same place and when you open iTunes it will give you a chance to identify the iTunes library folder.
You can test this to find out if you saved the media files or not and don't need to attach your nano to do it.
You are correct that once you connect the nano it will clear the existing files from it and sync it with the new iTunes library.
If you don't have the media files i'm not sure if/how to get them back on a windows ipod. I have everything backed up regularly because of the horror stories I have seen & heard.

I no longer have iTunes library.xml on my PC but I have all of my songs. How do I download them to my iPhone - it won't allow me to drag and drop though my PC recognizes the device.

We always manually manage our music (no auto sync). iTunes is up to date on the PCs. My husband uses our joint iTunes account on his pc, but once again, has a different collection in his library from those on the other machines. He can't load any music from his PC to his iphone 4. I can load music from my mac library to my iphone 4s, but cannot load from my pc library to my iphone 4s. How can I switch my main library that it syncs with from the mac to the pc?

Is it possible to combine pdfs from software containing the file by dragging and dropping them?

We have a piece of software that we profile PDF files into it and then have a need to combine those PDFs into one file. Is it possible to just drag and drop from the software into the combine files area? I know if you open the files first, you can do that or if you save the documents locally, then you can combine them. It would be ideal to just select the files in the software, then drag and drop them into the combine pdf window. We are using Adobe Pro XI.

The workflow you are talking about is very much possible with Acrobat and a good example is Microsoft Outlook from which we can select multiple e-mails and simply drag into Acrobat combine dialog box for combining.
What happens when you drag files from you software? Is it public software?
Can we test your software?

Drag and Drop an Attached AutoCad File in a PDF Portfolio to and Open Drawing in AutoCad

I currently Printed all my Details to PDF and combined them all into a catalog to view them. I them attached all the AutoCad files to the PDF. I can open the AutoCad file in the pdf, but it will open it as a new drawing int AutoCad. I would like to Drag and drop from the PDF file to a drawing that is already opened in AutoCad. Any suggestions?

i have a ipod shuffle (2nd gen). i cant drag and drop mp3 files via itunes. it only allows me to put them into library and then sync it. but i dont want to sync, i just want to put mp3s directly into shuffle.

with my old ipod (ipod nano 1st gen) i could easily drag and drop my mp3s from windows explorer to ipod by using itunes. is it itunes new version problem so that i couldnt drag and drop manually, or ipod shuffle problem.
