PDF embedded in Powerpoint

Hi folks.
This problem occurred after I converted a PDF file from PowerPoint and then embedded it in PowerPoint slides. Whenever I tried to open and scroll through pages from the embedded PDF, the message "error in processing pages...(23)" would pop up. But I have no trouble whatsoever with PDF created from Word or Excel. Had tried uninstall/reinstall Acrobat, nothing changed.
I'm using Acrobat Pro 9, MS Office 2007 and Windows Vista.
Any ideas? Thanks.

Thanks for replying.
Yeah I can, by inserting as an object. I have tried other PDFs they all worked without problems, which were not converted from Powerpoint.
By opening the individual file, it's fine but not within the slides.

  • Embedding a PDF file into PowerPoint 2010, clickable in SlideShow mode

If you embed a PDF file into PowerPoint slide by both draging and dropping or instering it as an object, only the first page of the PDF is embedded as a picture or you can change it to a PDF icon.
When in design mode, the embedded PDF is clickable and is opened in Adobe Reader (either from the PowerPoint slide if directly insterted or from its physical path if linked depending on the configuration).
But in slide show mode, the picture or the icon is not clickable.
The only workaround is to assign a hyperlink to the picture or the icon (the insterted object).
Is there any other way in opening a PDF file from PowerPoint Slide Show without assigning a hyperlink ??

    Hi,
Assign a hyperlink is the only way to accomplish Open file (.pdf, .docx, .xlsx) from PowerPoint Slide Show.
From PowerPoint slide show, it only identify the file with hyperlink.

  • How to set up a pdf embeded with different code so that people can get different excess code after they paid on-line?

For example, I want to set up a pdf embeded with code, and send it on-line. People who want it should pay for it first and get the access code. I need to set different access code in order to avoid people A give the access to people B.

Unless you use a very expensive DRM protection measure, I don't see how it's possible. How can you prevent someone from sending a file with the password to someone else?

    Hi Sara!
Yes this sounds interesting. Can I update to that from the PDF Export I have just renewed? How much would that cost?
    Thanks for your quick answer.

  • PDF embedding & Acrobat's JavaScript API

    Hello,
    I have two questions.
I currently using Safari 1.3.2 and Acrobat Reader 7.0.9 to test an PDF document embedded in a Web page. In Safari 1.3.2 I get a "This operation is not allowed" warning when the HTML object element and the embed element are encountered.
I have also tested it in Safari 3.0 on Windows, with plug-ins enabled in the Preferences and Acrobat Reader 8 installed. The PDF file is not shown and no warning is given either.
So, does Safari 2.0 support embedding PDF files at all?
My other question is, assuming Safari does support PDF embedding, whether it is possible to interface from an HTML page to the Acrobat plug-in via Acrobat's JavaScript API. In IE this is a simple as getting the object element by id and for example, invoking its Print() method. Is this possible in Safari?
    Thank you in advance,
    Adal Fraile

  • How do I get pdf export to powerpoint to actually work?

Acrobat makes it sound so easy. Everything I've tried results with the same "Save as failed to process this document..."

    Hey rick design,
Thank you for posting at Adobe forums.
Could you please let me know what version of Acrobat are you using.
Also, try converting another PDF file to Powerpoint format as that might be an issue with specific document that has become corrupt.
If you get the same error message for every PDF document that you try to export, then please check for Acrobat Updates under the Help menu.
Also, you might go for a repair option from the Help menu and check.
You can also refer this link that discuss the same issue:
How to fix save as failed to process this document. no file was created (Export PDF)
Is the PDF scanned? There might be a chance that the PDF was not encoded properly. So, please try printing your PDF to Adobe PDF printer. Then, run the OCR (for scanned file) and save the file as word document to see if this works.
Please let me know how it goes. Hope to get your response.

  • Problem talking from a PDF-embedded 3D model to a Web page

I am having serious problems in my attempts to talk from a PDF-embedded 3D model to a JavaScript function in an outer HTML page. Im am using the latest acroreader on Windows for display.
The HTML page has a properly set up messageHandler on the with the PDF, as per Adobe documentation. Also, the document is disclosed.
Within the 3D model script, I am trying to use the
    host.hostContainer.postMessage()
function to report to the outside world on item distances and angles that were selected and logged in a mouseEvent handler. I have verified that "host" really refers to the PDF document, and that hostContainer and postMessage exist.
Nevertheless, when I call the postMessage() function, I am seeing weird error messages on the Acrobat JavaScript console, nothing arrives in the HTML page functions, and ultimately the browser and acroreader both die independent deaths.
My suspicion is that this is somehow related to having different JS interpreters for the model and the document. I found documentation on how to access the model interpreter from the document, but not the other way around.
Can anybody give me some hints on the right approach to channel data from an event handler in a 3D model embedded in a PDF to an HTML page JavaScript function?

    Dear Seabor,
    dissect
    http://www.pdf3d.co.uk/pdf/HyperlinkExample.pdf
with your favorite tool (pdftk and vim work for me)
and see how document-level and model-level JavaScript
    interact to achieve the results.
            Sincerely, Michail

  • How to play the pdf embedded video on firefox

I embed video into pdf quite often, if I want everyone with Acrobat reader version earlier than 9 (6,7,8) can open it, I have to chose "Create legacy multimedia content..." when I embed the video. The problem is, when I make the pdf with Mac, usually I use mp4 video, but a lot of PC's can not open it because they don't have the codec (they have to install it first); but if I embed it with wmv, Mac users can not open it. Also the latest Firefox browser doesn't have the plug-ins for the new pdf, thus can not play the embedded video. Anyone can help? Many thanks...

    Hi Philips,
Thanks for your input, but that's not the problem. I've got Flip4Mac  already installed, and I have quicktime pro, so no problem for my intel  based Mac running WMV under quicktime.
The problem is, I can not play the PDF embedded video WITHIN FIREFOX /  SAFARI browser. Just found out that they only have plug-ins for viewing  pdf files, not with embedded video.
    Thanks anyway.
Adobe has not had a PDFPlugin for Mozilla Products Since OS 9. I have put in a bug about it at least once every year.
There is a PDF Browser Plugin by Shubert of Germany, that will view PDF's. Now Safari will work with the Acrobat PDFViewer Plugin and any other Browsers using Webkit including iCab. You can set SeaMonkey FireFox, Camino,  to use the Adobe Reader or even Acrobat rather than a plugin.
It's sad and funny at the same time. Adobe until Acrobat came out was just a Font provider. And Adobe got started with other products on the Mac, because mac users were a little more bold and daring and would try out new technology. Acrobat on PC (Widows/DOS) wasn't accepted for another two years. Then when then got a foot in the door in the Windows world, they all but abandoned the Mac Platform.
They refuse to fix crash and performance issues on Mac for Flash. One reason why Jobs has took the stance he has about Flash on the iPad/iPhone.
But they are not the only ones. Intuit (Quicken) got started on Mac first. Then when they got toe hold in PC world they have been shafting Mac Users every since.

  • PDF embedded in web pages OS 3.0

I just noticed that now I can't scroll down in PDFs embedded in webpages as I could when I used OS 2.1.1
Back then I just scrolled down with two fingers, now that doesn't seem to work.
    Someone else with this problem?

Yep. I tried before OS 3.0 instalation and all university pages whit PDF in a frame does not scroll anymore. This is a regress ( and i learned that very late)...

  • How to make a PDF embedded image append a report and send via fax electronically from MS SSRS 2012?

How can I make a PDF embedded image append a SSRS 2012 report and send via fax all electronically?  Is this possible?
Thanks in advance for your time!

    Hello,
    1. The report item Image can be used to display the image which  embedded in the report, stored in a database, stored on the report server, or stored elsewhere on the Web.
For example, you can embedded the PDF image in the report and stored as text in the report definition.
2.Reporting Services includes an e-mail delivery extension and a file share delivery extension which you can send report to user or group through e-mail or send the report to a shared location on your network.
If you want to send the report to FAX, you may try to create a custom delivery extension depend on your faxing software.

  • Reader X issues for PDFs embedded in web page

I've just upgraded to Reader X.
I subscribe to a private genealogy web site which has PDFs embedded in the pages.
I have two issues with this:
    1. Some of the PDFs have links. Whenever a link is in the same place on the page as the floating toolbar, the toolbar obscures the link and I have to disable the toolbar to access the link. Very clumsy. It just makes me leave the menu bar in place instead, which devalues the cleaner look of version X over the earlier versions.
    2. Where an embedded PDF has more than one page, it takes the focus of the PgUp key, PgDn key and mouse scrollwheel, even when the cursor is outside the bounds of the PDF.  The page itself cannot be paginated or scrolled at all, I have to grab the side scrollbar and drag it up and down.  This is not browser-specific and was not a problem with version 9 and earlier. I can't find any settings to change this function.

Disable the entry 'Display in Read Mode by default' in the preferences of Adobe Reader
