PDF error/Blurred Image

Hi guys, from time to time we do some pdf with the same mistake. A blured image and the rest is fine. I am attaching a sample.
http://www.pixentral.com/show.php?picture=1UZrPlmekntsWkrwDReogBP6FyAsbh
We work with InDesing, save as Postscript and then make the PDF with Pitstop. Our IT guy have no idea why that happens, he said he searched in forums with no answer so far.
Any ideas?
Sebastiao

Hi Jon,
Thanks for your reply. Actually, the blurry image i am talking about is the one in the center of the PDF. It is a photo of a motorcycle detail with the pdf did not "understand" when it convert it. Clearly that is an error.
Let me check with the IT how they do the PDF, since i am mostly a designer other people in the company take care of the PDF. I know the make a postscript and then PITSTOP makes the PDF, but i could be wrong.
Thanks again,
Sebastiao

  • Weird print/pdf error when images are over a table

    Hi all
    I'm having a trouble with Pages where if I have an image over a table (so it looks like it's in the box) it can cause the table borders to go missing. As this is a little hard to describe I have made a pdf file showing the problem...
    http://homepage.mac.com/sonicisblue/FileSharing29.html
    As you can see, the first page appears fine, where as the second page's table borers have gone...
    I have the same problems throughout the document, regardless of whether I print to a printer or print to PDF.
    If someone could help I'd be very grateful. Thanks!

    Ah - I've spent a lot of time mastering tables in Pages - they could be a wonderful tool for lots of things - my favourite being positioning photo captions right beneath the picutre...
    Re your problem, try this:
    - double click the cell in the table (you will see yellow highlight around it)
    - go to Object Inspector, then choose Image Fill, then either choose your image (photo) from the folder you'd saved it in or open Media from the toolbar and click and drag the image you want in the cell from the Media dialogue window to the little window in the Object Inspector (it shows a green plus sign when it's ready to be imported)
    See if your photo best fits the cell with Image Fill set to 'Scale to Fit' or 'Scale to Fill'. You may have to crop the original photo if the way the picture fills the cell doesn't suit you. Go back to iPhoto (or import your image to iPhoto), duplicate it, crop the duplicate (so as not to loose the original image) and repeat the procedure.
    This helped me. See several articles I published on working with tables on:

  • PDF Printing with images

    Hello all-
    I was wondering if it is possible to create a PDF document with images from a report that has images, through the FOP. I have tried this on APEX 3.2.1 and APEX 4.0.1, but with no success. I installed FOP in a standalone OC4J that I have installed on my PC and this works fine. I am using the Demonstration Application to test creating the PDF with images by trying to print page 23 - it is a report with images. I get a PDF report, but the image column is blank - no image, no errors. Has anyone been able to accomplish this?
    Thanks in advance,
    Greg

    Hi,
    yes you can, this tool allows you to create FOP templates with images (look at the examples)
    http://www.java4less.com/fopdesigner/fodesigner.php?info=guide
    You can of course create your own FOP templates without this tool, there is a XSL-FO tag to do that, you must make sure the images are available to the print server, either by referencing images on the file system or deploying the images in the print server.

  • Failed to open pdf error on every document

    Today I came and started placing pdf documents in Indesign CS3 like I always do, and suddenly I start getting "failed to open pdf" errors on every pdf file I try and place. I have tried all the suggested tactics of selecting show import options, changing the crop to bounding box, etc. Nothing working.
    I also tried to open the pdf in acrobat and export into a different format or optimize it using the pdf optimizer, but when I do that I get gobbly **** text on the pdf. See screenshots
    The only workaround that works is to save as a raster image. But this is incredibly time consuming. I also tried importing these same files into Indesign cs 4 and I get the same errors. I am wondering if this is a system wide issue. Any ideas or suggestions?
    I noticed all these pdf were created using cs4 and above. Not sure if this helps.

    Hold the Shift key as you click Place or turn on Show Import Options in the Place dialogue.
    I get this from time to time. Here’s what I think happens: You placed a PDF with Import Options showing so you could select a different crop method, like bleed. This becomes the new default import option for PDF files. But if you import a file with no bleed data InDesign gives an error message instead of either jumping to import options or telling you the default crop options are unavailable for this file. I would call it a bug. I have encountered it from at least version 4 (aka CS2).

  • Blurred images in search iPhone option after in iOS 8.1

    Yesterday i was shocked when i saw blurred images while using iPhone Search option. i tried 4-5 times but there was no improvement, after restart it was working fine

    I read in other post with user having error 56 the solution is to take the phone to the Apple store as it is a hardware issue.
    You can search error 56 at the top right and you'll see the other thread on error 56.

  • PDF Watermark - logo image is not displayed in ibr converted pdf

    Hi
    I have enabled pdf watermark administration and configured image watermark with rule, if the content type is document then the image watermark is to be applied but it is not displayed to the converted word document to pdf by IBR.
    If i change image watermark layer to "over", then image watermark is displayed, but word are displayed under the logo image watermark, so it is difficult to study the document.
    If the native file is pdf, then its image watermark is working fine.
    Thanks
    Deepak

    Hi ,
    I think this could be caused by the following :
    Check the factor set for Transparency and if it is completely opaque (Transparency =0%) then the converted PDF's will not show watermarks which has Layer set to UNDER.
    To get the watermarks displayed PPT's will need to be set to Transparency = 100% .
    The intention of the UNDER watermarking layer is that it should appear"behind" whatever is in the content layer.If the content layer completely covers the page and is opaque, then nothing behind it will be visible,including watermarks.The only reasonable solution is to check the above mentioned value before submitting the PPT's for conversion so that users are aware of this behavior for PPT's
    The above description if for PPT's where in this was found to be caused by the transparency factor of native PPT . If it is a word document then check for the same setting and set to 100% , then test .
    Hope this helps .
    Thanks,

  • How to insert a pdf or jpeg image into a blob column of a table

    How to insert a pdf or jpeg image into a blob column of a table

    Hi,
    Try This
    Loading an image into a BLOB column and displaying it via OAS
    The steps are as follows:
    Step 1.
    Create a table to store the blobs:
    create table blobs
    ( id varchar2(255),
    blob_col blob
    Step 2.
    Create a logical directory in the database to the physical file system:
    create or replace directory MY_FILES as 'c:\images';
    Step 3.
    Create a procedure to load the blobs from the file system using the logical
    directory. The gif "aria.gif" must exist in c:\images.
    create or replace procedure insert_img as
    f_lob bfile;
    b_lob blob;
    begin
    insert into blobs values ( 'MyGif', empty_blob() )
    return blob_col into b_lob;
    f_lob := bfilename( 'MY_FILES', 'aria.gif' );
    dbms_lob.fileopen(f_lob, dbms_lob.file_readonly);
    dbms_lob.loadfromfile( b_lob, f_lob, dbms_lob.getlength(f_lob) );
    dbms_lob.fileclose(f_lob);
    commit;
    end;
    Step 4.
    Create a procedure that is called via Oracle Application Server to display the
    image.
    create or replace procedure get_img as
    vblob blob;
    buffer raw(32000);
    buffer_size integer := 32000;
    offset integer := 1;
    length number;
    begin
    owa_util.mime_header('image/gif');
    select blob_col into vblob from blobs where id = 'MyGif';
    length := dbms_lob.getlength(vblob);
    while offset < length loop
    dbms_lob.read(vblob, buffer_size, offset, buffer);
    htp.prn(utl_raw.cast_to_varchar2(buffer));
    offset := offset + buffer_size;
    end loop;
    exception
    when others then
    htp.p(sqlerrm);
    end;
    Step 5.
    Use the PL/SQL cartridge to call the get_img procedure
    OR
    Create that procedure as a function and invoke it within your PL/SQL code to
    place the images appropriately on your HTML page via the PL/SQL toolkit.
    from a html form
    1. Create an HTML form where the image field will be <input type="file">. You also
    need the file MIME type .
    2. Create a procedure receiving the form parameters. The file field will be a Varchar2
    parameter, because you receive the image path not the image itself.
    3. Insert the image file into table using "Create directory NAME as IMAGE_PATH" and
    then use "Insert into TABLE (consecutive, BLOB_OBJECT, MIME_OBJECT) values (sequence.nextval,
    EMPTY_BLOB(), 'GIF' or 'JPEG') returning BLOB_OBJECT, consecutive into variable_blob,
    variable_consecutive.
    4. Load the file into table using:
    dbms_lob.loadfromfile(variable_blob, variable_file_name, dbms_lob.getlength(variable_file_name));
    dbms_lob.fileclose(variable_file_name);
    commit.

  • PDF Error in Performance Management

    Hi
    When launching the Performance Management link from Manager Self Service (Role) --> Talent Management --> Performance Management I am getting the PDF error. Seems the page is trying to open the form in PDF, instead I want it to be displayed in html itself.
    For Travel Expense form I have changed the URL parameter "sap.xss.tra.UsePdf=true" for the resource EMPLOYEE_TRAVEL_TRIPFORM_SRV05.
    What is the PCD Object and the resource key for the corresponding Performance Management iView.
    Thanks,
    Murthy

    Did you get this error in the initial landing page?
    Please detail out the error. And for the pcd location, it depends on the role you created unless you are using standard objects.
    This iview should have a webdynpro application.

  • File does not begin with '%pdf' error with adobe reader 10.1.5 onwards

      In our web application we are using activePDF toolkit (3rd party component) to fill up carrier forms on the fly which are PDF files.
    The output file processed by the above library works fine when opened with adobe reader 8, 9 and10 on end user’s browser (IE); however, it gives below error when opening with adobe reader 11.
    Till now, we have tried different settings at IIS level, Internet explorer e.t.c. suggested on different internet posts. However, we are still facing the problem.
    While analyzing this we have come across following link
    http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/pdf-error-1015-11001-update.html
    According to this adobe 10.1.5 onward file should only start with "%pdf". If file start with other than this we get file corrupted message.
    Before we can communicate this message to client we want to confirm this for experts. Please let me know my assumption is right?

    Rahti - i'm having the same issue but I not familiar with the steps outlined in the Adobe link below
    http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/pdf-error-1015-11001-update.html
    Would you be able to help with how I can navigate to this on my PC to correct it for me.
    Thanks.

  • Editing Error - This Image cannot be rendered for editing...

    Editing Error - This Image cannot be rendered for editingbecause Aperture doesn't support the image format.
    Thats the message that appears when I'm exporting to Photoshop CS5 (I tried CS4 too), or even other Plug-ins such as Silver Efex Pro...
    That had never happened before, and I use Aperture for over 2 years.
    Its RAW image format from the same camera and all, nothing has changed. just randomly decided not to export anymore to other programs, Regular exporting works, so it's nothing to do with exporting it self, but the communication between aperture and other softwares, I think.
    I've seen some other people having the same problem, does anyone have a take on it, in how to solve this? I can't edit anymore outside of aperture. (of course not including the idea of exporting and doing everything away from aperture, which is totally not viable with the amount of content to be edited and not being in aperture anymore.)
    I've tried deleting the preferences, tried repair permissions of the Library, and still didn't work.
    Didn't go to the other 2 options (repair and rebuild database) because it would take days if chosen, and still not sure that would solve. or if has anything to do with.
    Any light anyone?

    What kind of file is it? (i.e.jpeg, Canon RAW, Nikon RAW etc..)
    As a workaround until you get the issue fixed, why not reimport the image from the original file, lift and stamp any adjustments you've made in Aperture, and see if the same problem occurs?

  • Saving PDF files as image files using the Preview application

    I'm converting PDF files into image files for use with OCR software. The problem is that changing the pixels/inch option from 150 to say 300 does not improve the resolution of the resulting image file. E.g. if I save at 150 p/i and then 300p/i both image files are the same size and resolution. I've tried JPG, JPG-2000, TIFF, and GIF. All produce the same fuzzy result. What am I doing wrong?

    The schematic file is made up from vector graphics. There are no images embedded in it. For some reason the OCR software (PDF pen) will not recognize the vector drawn characters near the various components. e.g. There may be a resistor with "R5" written next to it. This is the resistors designator. The designator is what I am trying to do the search on. Since PDF pen can perform OCR on scanned (image) documents I thought that turning the PDF schematic into an image file e.g. JPG using Preview would do the trick. Unfortunately as I have already mentioned I can not seem to get Preview to improve the resolution on the resulting image file - the OCR software struggles to recognize any print.

    Crystal Reports is limited in how it works with images - large images or a large number of images, etc. Much as CR is not a good database archiving tool, it's not a very good graphics presenter. I find stand-alone versions of CR are a bit better, but that may just be a perception. My recommendations:
    1) Try an eval of a stand-alone version of CR:
    http://www.sap.com/solutions/sapbusinessobjects/sme/freetrials/index.epx
    Go for CR 2008 as CR 2011 does not have any SDK
    2) Make sure the picture  blob  what ever, never spills beyond the designer pane of the report. This may change from site to site depending on printer drivers used (CR depends on these to render the report)
    3) Have a look at the article [Causes of "Background Processing" error|http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/50a6f5e8-8164-2b10-7ca4-b5089df76b33]
