PDF Error in Workspace

Hello Gurus,
I have this issue while trying to open PDF in Workspace.
I can open the Financial Reports in Workspace as HTML, however, if I try to open in PDF, I get the "The website cannot display the page" http 500 message.
What could have been the issue with this.
Please suggest.
Thanks

The above registry fix worked for me, however, I wanted to clarify the registry key to edit, since I think the poster above me forgot one of the folders:
Regedit - > HKLM -> SOFTWARE -> Hyperion solutions -> HReports -> JVM ->JVM option 2 -> default is -xmx256m
The bolded part above was added to clarify
This fix can also be found in the Oracle KB, under the article name:
Error: "Error 500 Internal Server Error" When Generating Hyperion Financial Reports in PDF Format [ID 1111367.1]

  • PDF Form in Workspace:  Format Validation message?

    Hi,
    If a user tried to submit a PDF form in Workspace, what is the best way to "nicely" format the error message (rather than just the default 'you have missed mandatory fields' message).
    I noticed that the LCES2 validation formatted does not seem to work.
    Thanks,

    I have not heard anything further.  I think this warrants a feature request at adobe.com/go/wish
    Will also be interested to see how this behaves in ES3.5, although expect it to be close to the current version

  • Financial Reporting Studio - pdf error

    I have one FRS report that will not produce a pdf when running as a view in Workspace or when running as a batched report. All my other reports are working fine. This reports does preview/print in the Reporting Studio and works in HTML on Workspace. It also ran correctly in the past. Currently when opening in pdf format on Workspace it begins to run then displays a window with this message:
    "Website cannot display the page"
    When running in a batch the batch errors out with this message:
    Executed "FOP/Income Statement Summary - RDD" successfully
    Status for various save options for "FOP/Income Statement Summary - RDD"
    Error while saving as PDF
    Error unmarshaling return header; nested exception is:
    java.io.EOFException
    I can run the other reports in batch and they save correctly to the same place that this report should be going. So it not a permission issue to the directory where is should be saving the file.
    Thanks in advance

    Have you checked the logs? When I first saw the subject, I thought it was due to lack of Ghostscript installed on the FR Studio server, but looks like it is not the case.
    Also a long shot, but does it happen in other machines?

  • Program runs at command line, but has "Error in Workspace" in Eclipse

    This code compiles and runs in Eclipse, but before it runs it show the message that I have "Errors In Workspace". The source code does not show any errors in Eclipse, so I copied the code into DOS, compiled it, and it runs fine. Any ideas why Eclipse is giving a problem?
    (I posted the code here: [http://shelbyandlesley.com/flash/import_javax.pdf] )

    Errors in workspace doesn't sound like errors in the java code. What happens if you create a new workspace?Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. I did not realize that "Workspace" encompassed the whole package. I had an error in another class in the same package and once I fixed that error, the program runs fine.

  • Unable To Open Financial Reporting Reports In PDF In EPM Workspace in 11.1.2.2

    Hi All,
                   We have FR 11.1.2.2 running on AIX and we recently apply a patch 11.1.2.2.303 to this FR 11.1.2.2. As a pre-req we have also apply the patches for HSS and workspace. Now after applying the patch we cannot open the reports in PDF mode in workspace however we can open the reports in HTML mode.
    Can anyone help on this!!!
    Thanks,

    Hi,
    Create a folder named Temp in the root of C: (to match the xdo.cfg file).
    - OR -
    Edit the path reference in the xdo.cfg file with a valid directory.
    - OR -
    Remove the applicable line entry from xdo.cfg file:
    1. Navigate to the applicable path (the default is Oracle\Middleware\EPMSystem11R1\products\financialreporting\lib\FOProcessor).
    2. Open the xdo.cfg file in a text editor.
    3. Remove the following line then save the file:
       <property name="system-temp-dir">c:\temp</property>
    4. Execute the FR reports in workspace with PDF preview to validate the results.
    Note: Save a backup copy of xdo.cfg before modifying it.

  • Error writing workspace file

    Hi all!
    When I compile my CVI Project I get sometimes the following message: "Error writing workspace file d:\.... (File already exists)", and afterwards the question to continue or not (see the pictures).
    When I continue, the existing .cws file will be deleted. A new cws file is created only on the next compilation. So, when I close CVI before the next compilation, the cws file is lost. Not dangerous but annoying.
    I observe this behavior only since version 2013.
    What's wrong?

    Hi, Thomas!
    It seems like my similar problem (http://forums.ni.com/ni/board/message?board.id=180&message.id=60376#M60376).
    Unfortunately I never beat this (the "solution" doesn't work, the problrem persists). I try to set / change W7 directory access rights without success.
    By some indicies I suspect that the cause may be somewhere in file access process on a multi-core computer (I have Dell VOSTRO with Core i7) - but I do not have idea how to verify this.

  • PDF Error in Performance Management

    Hi
    When launching the Performance Management link from Manager Self Service (Role) --> Talent Management --> Performance Management I am getting the PDF error. Seems the page is trying to open the form in PDF, instead I want it to be displayed in html itself.
    For Travel Expense form I have changed the URL parameter "sap.xss.tra.UsePdf=true" for the resource EMPLOYEE_TRAVEL_TRIPFORM_SRV05.
    What is the PCD Object and the resource key for the corresponding Performance Management iView.
    Thanks,
    Murthy

    Did you get this error in the initial landing page?
    Please detail out the error. And for the pcd location, it depends on the role you created unless you are using standard objects.
    This iview should have a webdynpro application.

  • File does not begin with '%pdf' error with adobe reader 10.1.5 onwards

      In our web application we are using activePDF toolkit (3rd party component) to fill up carrier forms on the fly which are PDF files.
    The output file processed by the above library works fine when opened with adobe reader 8, 9 and10 on end user’s browser (IE); however, it gives below error when opening with adobe reader 11.
    Till now, we have tried different settings at IIS level, Internet explorer e.t.c. suggested on different internet posts. However, we are still facing the problem.
    While analyzing this we have come across following link
    http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/pdf-error-1015-11001-update.html
    According to this adobe 10.1.5 onward file should only start with "%pdf". If file start with other than this we get file corrupted message.
    Before we can communicate this message to client we want to confirm this for experts. Please let me know my assumption is right?

    Rahti - i'm having the same issue but I not familiar with the steps outlined in the Adobe link below
    http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/pdf-error-1015-11001-update.html
    Would you be able to help with how I can navigate to this on my PC to correct it for me.
    Thanks.

  • Failed to open pdf error on every document

    Today I came and started placing pdf documents in Indesign CS3 like I always do, and suddenly I start getting "failed to open pdf" errors on every pdf file I try and place. I have tried all the suggested tactics of selecting show import options, changing the crop to bounding box, etc. Nothing working.
    I also tried to open the pdf in acrobat and export into a different format or optimize it using the pdf optimizer, but when I do that I get gobbly **** text on the pdf. See screenshots
    The only workaround that works is to save as a raster image. But this is incredibly time consuming. I also tried importing these same files into Indesign cs 4 and I get the same errors. I am wondering if this is a system wide issue. Any ideas or suggestions?
    I noticed all these pdf were created using cs4 and above. Not sure if this helps.

    Hold the Shift key as you click Place or turn on Show Import Options in the Place dialogue.
    I get this from time to time. Here’s what I think happens: You placed a PDF with Import Options showing so you could select a different crop method, like bleed. This becomes the new default import option for PDF files. But if you import a file with no bleed data InDesign gives an error message instead of either jumping to import options or telling you the default crop options are unavailable for this file. I would call it a bug. I have encountered it from at least version 4 (aka CS2).

  • Delay in the opening the HFReports and books in PDF format on workspace

    Hi,
    When i am opening the financial reports in PDF format on workspace - it's taking long time.
    Please help me on this!!
    Thanks in Advance!!

    I think it is normal for books to take longer when they include multiple big size reports. I had a similar problem at a client. We ended up not including all the reports in one book and create several books instead. In another situation, we scheduled batches and the books ran automatically. This way, the users just received an email with the whole book in one pdf instead of running it on an ad-hoc basis and wait for the outcome.
    Hope this helps.
    Cheers,
    Mehmet

  • Slow to Load Prepopulated PDF Form in Workspace

    We experience that sometimes it takes a long time (abt 10-15 sec) to load a prepopulated PDF form in Workspace. This is not acceptable by our users. They expect that the prepopulated PDF form to be displayed below 5 sec.
    FYI, we use customised Default Render service to prepopulate the data retrieved from multiple remote DB server (Oracle 8i and SQL Server 2005) into the PDF Form. In particular, we retrieved about 1500 rows of employee information (ID and name) from Oracle DB View to be populated into a dropdownlist in PDF Form.
    Please find below the server and client machine spec:
    SERVER:
    IBM XSERIES_3650
    Intel Xeon CPU 5160 @3.00 GHz
    2.99 GHz, 4.00 GB of RAM
    Windows Server 2003 SP1 Standard Ed
    CLIENT:
    512 MB of RAM
    Windows XP Pro SP2
    Adobe Reader 8
    Adobe Flash Player 9
    Internet Explorer 6
    Does anyone can give us advice what to check/investigate to determine the root cause of the problem and how to improve the performance? Thanks.

    At first, we also guessed that the 1500 rows query is the one which cause the slowing down. However, this is what we observe:
    - Whenever the client machine is restarted, the time it takes to load and display LiveCycle ES Sample MortgageLoan-Prebuilt PDF form in Workspace will be slow (more than 10s). Subsequent try of loading the PDF form will be faster (2-3s)
    - Whenever the client machine is restarted, the time it takes to load and display our prepopulated PDF form in Workspace will be slow (15-25s). Subsequent try of loading the PDF form will be faster (5-7s)
    - In our custom Default Render process, we write trace message to server.log file at the start and end of the process. We noticed, the time it takes between the start and the end of the process is consistently about 2-5s which include retrieval of 1500 db records.
    Please advice.

    Hi,
    I am trying to download pdf from a LinkToaction UI element.
    I recieve %pdf" error when trying to download using below code. from backend perspective ABAPer said they are able to download PDF from ABAP program. Lokks like I am doing some mistake somewhere in below code.
    From the backend, pdf is coming in  a table in the form of SOLI-Text Line (TLine - SO_TEXT255)
    In webdynpro I am tried to take each line from that table and attched to a IWDResource as below.
    Please correct me if anything wrong here to get out of %pdf" error.
    IModel_Pdf_FileNode Model = wdContext.nodeModel_Pdf_File();
    IPDFElement pdf = wdContext.nodePDF().currentPDFElement();
    if (Model != null && Model.size() > 0)
    ByteArrayOutputStream baos = new ByteArrayOutputStream(1024);
    try {
       for (int i = 0; i < Model.size(); i++){
          IModel_Pdf_FileElement Element =
                                                 Model.getModel_Pdf_FileElementAt(i);
         baos.write(Element.getLine().getBytes());
        IWDResource resource =WDResourceFactory.createCachedResource(
              baos.toByteArray(),
              "Test",
              WDWebResourceType.PDF);
        pdf.setBinaryResource(resource);
    Thanks
    Praveen

    Thanks for the sample. I use version NWDS7.0 and I don't find IContent type in my NWDS after re-organizing import statements.
    currently I use below code to get the PDF on click of LinkToaction UI element (After I set the pdf from backend above part of the code).
    {code
    IWDResource pdfResource = wdContext.nodePDF().currentPDFElement().getBinaryResource();
                   String pdfURL = pdfResource.getUrl(WDFileDownloadBehaviour.OPEN_INPLACE.ordinal());
              IWDWindow window =
              wdComponentAPI.getWindowManager()
              .createNonModalExternalWindow(pdfURL , "Test");
              window.show();
    {code}
    Currently above code giving %pdf" error when clicking LTU UI elemnt.
    Please suggest How I need to adjust your sample in my case.
    Thanks

  • PDF Error 109

    Attempting to print from an Adobe PDF results in printing only "PDF Error 109: trailer missing or invalid" on a single page.  The remainder of the document does not print.
    This problem is intermittent, some files print OK some don't.
    Anyone ever encounter this?
