PDF fails to export
every pdf file I try to export comes up failed to export to Microsoft Word, there was an unexpected problem
I tried this with a new - blank Pages file with just one word on it. It still fails to export with a "print error". The work around of using Print and saving as a PDF does not address my problem. I want to Export to PDF so that my Links and bookmarks are preserved in PDF. Printing only gets the image of my Pages file to PDF but with no special features.
Has anyone resolved this export problem yet? Could it be a bad or corupt preference file or similar system file conflict. I have seen sometimes where in some apps you can delete certain preferences and resources and then re-run to correct the problem..... could this apply to Pages and what would be removed to make it work?

Every time i have tried to convert a pdf file to doc file I had this message.
Could someone help please.Try disabling the OCR function of ExportPDF to see if it helps with your conversion. You can find instructions on how to do this here: http://forums.adobe.com/docs/DOC-3062

What does this mean and how do I fix it?
Error "BMOD.pdf" failed to export to Microsoft Word. There was an unexpected problem.Hi Calin,
I apologize for the trouble. Have you tried it again recently?
Let me know!
Looking forward to hearing back from you.

Failed to export to Microsoft word. THis is the error message I get, why wont it export?
Could be some incompatibility with 10.6.8 or something you added to your system.
Try downloading the 5.4.0.1771 version and see if you have any better luck.
FWIW, I just downloaded 5.3.59.1093 and it worked "ok" on my 10.6.5. Of course "ok" is a relative term when it comes to skype since Microsoft took it over! -
This happens quite offten.
There is no security on the PDF being exported to Adobe.
is there a problem with the program?Kindly mention the steps that you are following for doing the conversion .

I got the above message when trying to convert a 235 page .pdf into an .XLSX document. How can I find out the error?
Hi Kate,
Sorry to hear you're having trouble. Does your document have renderable (selectable) text? If so, try turning off the 'Recognize text' option prior to converting your document.
Let us know how it goes!

I really need to fill out this application which is a pdf with xfa forms. Is there away to convert this to a doc?
Converting forms to fill them in is never a good idea; if they are official forms it can be a catastrophe. Keep the forms as PDF, don't convert.
XFA forms are ALREADY FILLABLE. If you can't fill it there is a fault. -
what could I do?
Hi Karl_ma.
I'm sorry that the file didn't convert for you. How large is the file you're trying to convert? There's a 100MB file-size limit. Overly complex files that fall within this limit may not convert, depending on your upload speed and so on.
You can try converting with OCR disabled as outlined in this document: How to disable Optical Character Recognition, which will simplify the conversion process.
Please let us know how it goes.
Best,

PDF file failed to export to Excel
I have tried twice to export a pdf to excel and the program fails consistently.
In both cases the message is that the "Filename.pdf" failed to export. There was an unexpected problem.
The program uploads the file and attempts to convert for 5 to 10 minutes before generating the failure message.
I tried removing the check in the box that says Recognize Scanned Text In:
No help.i just bought the program and tried to convert pdf to excel it does it but not the way its on PDF
all scrambled, I might as well type everything! but that's not why I bought the license!!

InDesign CS5 PDF - Failure to Export Vector Elements
Recently, we have had two separate incidents where the creation of an InDesign CS5 PDF failed to export certain vector art elements. The elements are not shared between jobs and the files were physically created in different locations (entirely different servers) within our organization. The elements are pdf and eps and appropriately linked. On the PDF, we're not even getting a low-res version of the artwork. When looking at the PDF in NEO, the containing box of the graphic is not present. One the most frustrating aspects of this is we haven't been able to repeat error in order to fix the error. The next time (or 50 times) the document is exported, the vector art is fine.
Has anyone else had a similar issue?@rickphot
I've had this same problem just today. I have a 64 page INDD that when exported to PDF (print) from CS5 (with no elements on my page set to "non printing elements"), only some of my vector shapes get exported. They are all merely 0.25pt Black Lines used to direct a reader from a comment to a matching illustration, and some pages exported them just fine, and some other pages will not work. I've tried moving them to a new layer, cutting and pasting in place, copying and pasting in place, changing the transparency modes, etc...nothing works...EXCEPT to just redraw the lines.
@Bob Levine
Do you work for Adobe? Can you offer any advice to this problem yet?
Thanks all. Glad I'm not the ONLY one going crazy with a bizzare problem like this one. -
Error "Failed to Export PDF" with big image on CS6 (32) and CC (64)
Hi everyone,
I'm on indesign CS6 (v8.0.2) and when I try to export pdf with a very big image ( *.tiff, 25000*35000 pixels, ) , the action failed with this message :" Failed to export a PDF".
To be sure that there is no any corrupted elements, I made a very simple layout (one page , and just one element for my image,I turnoff prefilgth and all ressource intensive options, and export with no downsampling or resampling) and try to export with different size image:with 20000*30000 -or smaller -image the export works, always failed with image .The export failed to in scripting mode.
If I diveded my image in four , the export works but this solution is not convenient (I actually made tests for a fully automatised process, and we want to be sure that the indesign component is enough "safe")
I try the same action with an evaluation version of indesign CC 64 bits (v9.2) and have the same behavior.
I can imagine that there is a memory issue there, but my config seems to be strong ( windows server 64 with 16GB ram, DD with more than 100GB free). I don't undersant why-in a "full" 64 bit environnement- it is not possible to manipulate and export very large image ?
I'm wonder If the background task is a part of the problem, and if it 's possible to disable it in CS6 or CC as in cs5 ( creates an “DisableAsyncExports.txt” file in Adobe InDesign executable directoty don't seems to disable it in CC or CS6).
Thank you for your help and good ideas..
DC.this is a .tif (not a "big"tiff) compressed in LZW or ZIP.
I just tried with another format (png), the error is the same... -
Exporting to PDF fails for a report
Hi,
One of my reports no longer exports to PDF. When run through our ERP system it looks as if it's exporting but the progress popup window quickly dissappears. When we go to the location where the exported file should be nothing is there.
I tried opening up the report in the Crystal 11 and exporting from there. I get the following two error messages:
Failed to export the report.
Not supported
This was working yesterday. The only thing I did was to add the u2lbar.dll to the bin folder and copy over the barcode font so that we could display barcodes on this report. However, even if I comment the line to do the barcode I still get the same problem.
Thanks,
JonThe font you are using probably doesn't have embedding permissions.

Export to PDF fails for some reports, but report viewer works
Hi all
Our application produces several different reports.
- Report A can successfully be viewed in the ASP.NET report viewer control and can be exported to PDF
- Reports B and C can successfully be viewed in the ASP.NET report viewer (all pages), but export to PDF fails with a very unclear error message. The stack trace is attached below.
Two days ago, reports B and C have fully worked, and I'm sure by 100% that the report templates haven't been modified since then.
Can anyone explain what is going wrong? Is there some internal logging inside Crystal Reports that can be investigated to find out about the reasons of the error?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks
Kuno
PS.: The Crystal Libraries under investigation are quite old. In fact, it is a very old application that still runs under .NET 1.0.

please try to find out more details.
You say it is data dependent. Could you be a bit more specific. What data work or do not work ?
As a good test pls see if our samples reports work. They come with a default installation. If you do not have them any more - get them from [here|https://smpdl.sap-ag.de/~sapidp/012002523100005852352008E/cr_xi_xtreme_rep_smpl_en.zip].
Can you display and export them ? Do you get the same error ?
Thanks in advance

Failed to Export pdf despite having done so very recently?
I'm currently putting together a 60 page book and for weeks previously, I've been able to export it as a high quality pdf for test prints and analysis but for some reason last night, when I put in the final image for the book, it gives me this 'Failed to Export Pdf' message, despite me making a pdf of the final-imageless version a half hour ago. When I removed the final image from the document, it still gives me the same error message. When I tried to hunt down what page is giving it the most problem, it seemed to be a page that was previously just fine according to inDesign? And when I tried to work with an older version of the document to see if I can work from that one, it gives me the same problem. It SHOULD be fine but for some reason it isn't.
I use Windows 7 and I have inDesign CS2.Asiide from CS2 not being supported on Windows 7, so you're pretty much on your own, see Adobe Community: File Crashing on Output - printing/PDF/other for troubleshooting tips.
