Pdf file doesn't show

Please go to the second text bloc and click on the bold words
"artikel in de
NRC".
When I click on it, the pdf opens in a new browser page, but
the client sees
only a white page in her browser.
I asked her to try other pdf files. She sees them all right,
so it must be me.
I made sure the file is properly uploaded, the path is
correct.
I searched this forum and found lots of advice on linking to
pdf files. It
seems to be pretty straight forward, but I must be doing
something wrong.
Can some one tell me where I went wrong?

Works fine on my machine. My only little point is that one of
your
directories has an apostrophe in it (pdf's), which may be
causing some
discrepency somewhere? Apart from that, try clearing your
cache.

Firefox preview for pdf files doesn't show certain Cyrillic scripts.

Since pdf preview support was added in Firefox I can't find a solution for the missing Cyrillic letters in the preview of the pdfs which the software in my company generates.
Other pdf software/browsers with preview don't have issues with the Cyrillic script regardless of localization and OS as the fonts are embedded in the pdf.
Can you please help with finding some documentation to use as a reference point for finding the solution for this issue?

In order to change the default reader for PDF files (to not open PDF files with Firefox's internal PDF reader), follow these steps:
#Go to ''Tools'' > ''Options'' (or ''Firefox'' > ''Options'').
#In the Options window, select the ''Applications'' tab.
#In the ''Search'' field, type ''PDF''. You should find ''Portable Document Format (PDF)''.
#On the right handside you should find an ''Action'' column. Use that to select your favorite PDF reader. In order to view PDF files in Firefox, choose ''Preview in Firefox''.

You don't need any third party app at all in order to view a supported file in the mail app. It should be viewable even without Adobe Reader.
You do see a paper clip icon to indicate that there is an attachment but you don't see the opened PDF or the PDF icon in the body of the email? Did you swipe all the way down to the bottom of the screen? Is this just happening in one email or does it happen everywhere in the mail app?
Quit the mail app completely and restart the iPad. Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the task bar will appear with all of your recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the mail app icon. Tap the home button or anywhere above the task bar. Launch mail again and see if the PDF opens or appears. If it doesn't, close mail again and restart the iPad and then try again.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.

UITextField from .xib file doesn't show

A UITextField from .xib file doesn't show when it's page comes up on the iPhone simulator.
The View looks fine in Interface Builder, and no warnings are thrown to Console or IB's Info window.
On the Simulator the View comes up and a Label and a Switch show, but not a UITextField. The Objects are on the same row and their bounds are all appropriate.
I don't see anything in the Text Field Attributes of IB that is problematic, plus I've probably tried all combinations of settings. In Connections there is a reference to a File's Owner attribute.
I have been able to create a UITextField programmatically.

Worked around the problem by deleting the UITextField from the .xib and re-creating it.

Sometimes itunes dosnt show me the option to add files under the Aplications Menu.
I have already installed ADOBE READER, and when trying to add PDF files, itunes dosnt show me the applications to add files.

Linked .ai file doesn't show correctly in pdf, what to do?

I have placed into my InDesign document an Illustrator file which contains white vector graphic elements on a transparent background (a map with lines and texts converted to vectors). The linked file shows correctly in InDesign but when I make a .pdf file it omits some of the texts (not all) in the .ai file. All of the texts have been converted to vectors so that shouldn't have anything to do with the problem. The quality of the pdf doesn't make any difference either. Could someone help me?

Strange...Try this
- Open you .ai file
- Create a "my white" spot colour, (I mean creat a white spot colour, and name it "my white" to not to be confused with the standard white)
- select all your white elements and coulour them with "my white"
- save into standard .ai file
- import the file into Indesign, the "my white" should appear in your colour swatch pannel
- convert "my white" into CMYK ( you'll get the framed little quarter just beside your colour swatch)
- export your pdf file, whatever RVB or CMYK should work with both

PDF file doesn't view properly in firefox & favicon doesn't show in Safari

I've got three issues I could use some advice with.
1. I used some iFrame code generously posted by Oldtoad that allows a pdf file in an IFrame. It works beautifully in Safari. here's an example: http://web.mac.com/phelpssculpture/Site/resumeone_page_DavidPhelps.html
but in Firefox it only opens as a dialog box asking what I want to do with the file (download, etc)
Is there any way to make this view properly in Firefox?
2. I've gone through the process to have a favicon in the address box (ico file uploaded with iTweak) and this views great with Firefox, but nothing in Safari (not sure about others) I've deleted the WebpageIcons.db file repeatedly, emptied cache, deleted all my bookmarks for the site, etc.
Anyone know how to make this work in Safari?
3. I recently updated my site (from iWeb 06) using iWeb 08 and published. A lot of search links got broken. I created a new sitemap (verified by google) and now, no matter what page a search refers to, when you click on it, only my home page opens. Did I do something wrong? It used to be that if a search pointed to a certain page, clicking that result took you directly to that page.
Any suggestions for these problems would be greatly appreciated.

One problem I had with TextWrangle was I was doing a search and replace for <head><meta and it wasn't working. What I figured out was that there was other code on the line after <head><meta which was preventing the new code from working. I did a minor adjustment on each page in iWeb to force it to republish each page. That made the <head><meta line consistent on each page, then I selected the entire line and replaced it as per your instructions. It worked great. My experience was that iTweak did not process the code properly and was very slow, but this process was great.

a friend of mine has a problem with a CD that works fine for me.
Embedded in a pdf file are links to shockwave-Skripts. Clicking on the link should start the default Internet Browser.
I'm using Adobe Reader version 8.1.4. If I click on a link a warning about security issues is shown and I can read the file in question, including the path, starting with the Volume the CD is mounted in.
My friend is using a higher version of Adobe Reader (8.2.4) but the warning doesn't show the same: the path is missing - he only gets "firefox.exe", while I'm getting "C:\Programme\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" (German file structure, "Programme" equals "Program Files"). Clicking "Open" he gets a "file not found" message while my click opens the program like it is supposed to happen.
We couldn't figure out a difference in our settings, so there must be another solution how to get the paths into the opening procedure. Both of us are using Windows XP...
Who knows more?

Embedded PDF files do not show in Internet Explorer 11

Hi,
We have several machines that cannot show embedded pdf files in Internet Explorer 11 with Adobe Reader as default pdf reader.
Example from one pc:
OS: Windows 7 Enterprise SP1 x64 – all updates applied.
IE 11 version: 11.0.9600.17239.
Update Versions: 11.0.11 (KB2976627).
Adobe Reader: 11.0.08 (no further updates available).
As test example we have used: http://acroeng.adobe.com/Test_Files/browser_tests/embedded/embed2.html
We only get a blank page with two placeholders with a small black square with a white cross in each.
If we install Foxit Reader on the same pc, and sets it as default reader, everything works.
What do we do to solve the Adobe Reader problem?

We have already tried the TabProcGrowth registry change. It doesn't work. As mentioned, we use IE 11 on Windows 7, and not IE 10 as the article from Microsoft specifies.
As shown in the images above, the registry is set to 1 and the PDF's still don't show up embedded in the browser.
Any other suggestions? Anyone?

How do I delete an iphone pdf that doesn't show up in ibooks or itunes?

I am trying to make space for iOS 7 and discovered that I have over a gig of a pdf file apparently on my iphone.
The file shows up ONLY in the "On this iPhone" category under Books when the phone is plugged in. It does not show up in the Books sections or iTunes or in iBooks on the phone. It will not allow me to delete it. Help!

You can't without restoring the phone as new.

"All My Files" doesn't show all of my files

When I select the "All My Files" view in a Finder window, it correctly shows my files sorted by file type "Presentations", "PDF documents", "Images", etcetera. The problem is that many, if not most, of my files aren't listed.
For example, on the "PDF documents" row, the right-hand side of the Finder window says "Show all (58)" when I in fact have over 700 .PDF files. Likewise, the Finder window only shows one file of the type "Presentations" and one file of the type "Spreadsheets", even though I have almost 150 of each. If I perform a Spotlight search on ".ppt" or ".xls", all of my files show up correctly and are identified correctly by type (i.e. "Microsoft Powerpoint Presentation" or "Microsoft Exel Workbook"), so I know that Lion knows what type of files these are. So why is only one of each showing up in the "All My Files" view?
I've also noticed that the only images that show up in "All My Files" are the ones that *aren't* in iPhoto. Likewise, the only music files that show up in "All My Files" are the ones that *aren't* in iTunes, but I'm guessing that this is because I'm supposed to access those files through iPhoto or iTunes rather than through the Finder?
Any help would be appreciated. I can actually see the "All My Files" view as being a useful feature, but only if it would in fact show all of my files.

SWF files doesn't show in flash

I converted some videos into swf files. I opened them in flash player and they all look fine, but when I imported one in flash and put it in the scene the only thing visible was a small white circle, like the one that appears at the center of the objects when you select them. It couldn't be moved, it could barely be selected and it doesn't show up when testing the movie. I have the suspicion that they don't work because they were not originally made in flash, since I have worked with swf files in flash before, but those were banners previously made in flash.
However I would like to hear the opinion and/or advice of someone who knows more than me, I am still a beginner.

video files should be played in flash using the flvplayback component (or using the netstream class), not converted to swfs. ie, create a fla, add an flvplayback component to your stage and, in the properties panel, assign the component's source to be your video file. (use a relative path.)
