PDF File says its empty upon opening.

One week ago, I am able to open this PDF file. All of a sudden, I can't open the same pdf file in my AirMail App and my hotmail using Safari on my Macbook. This has been happened two days ago, and I restarted my computer, redownload the application, restart the application...without avail. The error message is 'The file <file name> could not be opened because it is empty.' I am able to open the same pdf file from my iPhone5 using Mail app and Safari. Please help, I am stuck with this and I can't work!
Thank you!

Hi benwiggy,
My apologies, was overseas the past week.
Anyway, I cannot open the file in Apple's Preview. I can't open it in Adobe Reader as well. It is zero kb once downloaded. I tried to open it via hotmail in Safari and the same problem occurred.
Funny thing is I am able to open it with my iPhone Mail. Help!
I did not configure the Time Machine...

Hi.  I have a Dell PC running Windows 7 64 bit.  I have the latest version of Adobe Reader,  It worked yesterday.  Today I have job training to do that is due tomorrow morning and I can't open PDF files.  I have to open a guide and read it and take a test tomorrow.  I have deleted and reinstalled the application.  I have rebooted.  I have made sure my PDF's are associated with the program.  Every PDF on my computer won't open and I get the same error message.  It simply says Attempt to access invalid address.  How can I fix this?  Thanks.

    Hi Don,
I have seen this issue fixed for some users by modifying the following registry key:
The key is "HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management" MoveImages
Set the key to 1 instead of 0 then reboot the machine.
In case you still face the issue try the following registry key change:
The only thing you have to do is rename the following key at the REGEDIT, and everything will be fine !!
    BEFORE:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Image File Execution Options\iexplore.exe
    AFTER:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Image File Execution Options\iexplore.old
Note: Please take a backup of the registry before attempting this change.
    Regards,

  • What adobe product will allow me to edit a pdf file in its orignal form.

What adobe product  will allow me to edit a pdf file in its orignal form. I want to scan in a document in its orignal form and edit the document. Is this possible?  Please help where and how. Thanks

As George as suggested, the answer is sort of maybe, though you should not expect perfection. The OCR is not perfect (almost no OCR products are, unless you pay a lot of money possibly). You should always edit the original document and not try to do it from a scan if at all possible. The OCR is step to trying to recreate the original document, but there will always be manual steps involved.

  • I downloaded a PDF file. How do I open my downloads?

  • How do I mass protect about 200 pdf files in a directory without opening them individually?

How do I mass protect about 200 pdf files in a directory without opening them individually? I have Adobe Acrobat X Pro.
They can all have the same password.
    Any ideas?

If they can all have the same password, just make 200 copies of the protected file in your operating system...
Edit: I think I misread your initial post. If the files are not identical, you can use an Action to encrypt all files using the same password.

  • Have Adobe X and can't download pdf files. says I have encountered a problem

Tried to download a newer version of adobe but I won't download....what can I do?

    Hi,
Did you pay for this software or did was it already on your system?
If it is Adobe X Reader, try these steps:
    1. Go to Control Panel and look for Adobe Reader in the list of programs.(if you dont find Adobe Reader, go to step 3).
    2. Select Adobe Reader and uninstall / remove it.
    3. Go to this link http://get.adobe.com/reader/?promoid=BUIGO and download the latest version of Adobe Reader by clicking on the download button.
    4. Once it installs successfully, try downloading the said PDF file and see if it opens.
    5. If the PDF file still doesnt open, try downloading or opening a different PDF and see if it works. (this is an important step as we can verify if the problem is with one specific file).
Please do post here if you face any issue.
    Thanks

That choice is not made by Adobe, but your browser, of which you give no details. 64-bit browsers cannot open PDF files, as the Adobe Reader plugin is a 32-bit app.

  • I'm getting an error message when trying to download a PDF file. Its says that 'FoxitReaderOCX.ocx failed to load'? What do I need to do. I've reloaded both Adobe Reader and FoxitReader

Corel says that it is not their problem.

Try disabling the Adobe PDF Plug-In For Firefox and Netscape "9.4.1" and make sure FoxIt is set to handle PDF files. <br />

  • When openning a PDF file, a new tab will open but it will be blank, it does not download or open any pdf files, this just started the last 3 days....!!!!

    Hi,
I am on the verge of deleting Firefox from my computer as it has wasted hours of my time, and none of the online trouble-shooting answers are of any help.
Until recently I could open PDF files in my browser window, and today its impossible to open any pdf file, it will not even download if I choose to download it.
This issue has been going on and off for nearly a year, and I downloaded Nitro PDF add-on to solve it previously as the Adobe reader add-on didn't do anything. Today In the options menu of applications where I can select the program I want to open the PDF files with I can no longer find the NitroPDF reader as an option, so I choose the Adobe add-on and no matter how many re-starts it refuses to initiate any PDF files, all I get is a open and empty new tab.
Internet explorer opens PDF files fine, so I know its not computer related.
I am running Windows Vista Ultimate, Firefox Version 19.0.
If there is a way of fixing this, please help because currently I am at the end of my patience.
    Regards,
    Emre

Hey thanx for the help, it worked like a charm.
I think firefox changed the application lay out, as I used to be able to choose my PDF opener from the list at " Adobe Acrobat Forms Document' where I could choose Nitro-PDF reader, but it has now moved all the way to the bottom like you suggested to the obvious place of "Portable Document Format" section.
If someone didn't tell me , I wouldn't have scrolled all the way down to be able to find it... it really should be with all its cousins up the top...
    Cheers again..

  • Pdf files as attachments, inconsistent, some open some as file?

WHen i attach multiple pdf files, sometimes they just show up at the attachment and sometimes they are open in the email. I prefer the former. How can I make them all the same? They can be created from the same application the same way, no rhyme or reason or pattern I can tell why some are not open in attachment and other are open in attachment.
    thanks
    roger

thanks for this reply...but help! I tested sending 2 pdf files to myself, and it just errored out, saying it was too big (34.5 mb) to send via this server. On my outgoing e-mail, the 'attachment' shows, but it is 'hazed out' via a blue mask. Am I doing something wrong? I'm just trying to send the pdf files! thks!

Thanks Pat.  Tried each, restarted computer each time; tried the "Accept" routine several days ago - it worked briefly and then stopped.  Uninstalled Reader and Flash as well.  Strange thing with Flash, one of my online broker programs provides streaming of CNBC.  When I clicked on the CNBC option to initiate CNBC, I got a message saying that I needed to load Flash.  I did, and it loaded again with no mention of Flash having already been installed.
Using Internet Explorer works, as well as, clicking on the .pdf file within Windows Explorer (WE).  Expanding the window in WE makes it large enough to read.  I would still like to find a way to open the files as they are designed to open.
I have done all of the Adobe updates as they have been presented.  Microsoft updates load automatically, and restart my computer in the process.  I do not look to see what the updates have been.  I figure if there was not a need, Microsoft would not make the updates.
