Pdf files are blank when i try to print them from logic
whenever i try to print a pdf from logic it comes out completely blank. one day it just started printing blank pdfs, but i can't figure out why. i didn't change anything in my preferences, or install any new programs. any ideas? i'm using logic pro 8.0.2 thanks.
greetings ..if you want to print direct from the Score Editor do this:
1 - Select what ever you want to print in Logic
2 - Next to the Logic Pro in the Tool Bar is File
3 - Go to File>Page Setup
4 - You will see a box there with a percentage. If you print blank pages
this could be because it is 2 percent or something. Return it to 100% and
it should print.
5 - Another tip that most of us Score preparers do is to print first to the desk top as
a PDF. This will show you exactly what the printed sheet will look like. There is often
stuff you miss and this helps to proof read it and not waste paper/ink etc

Please let me know what browser, OS and Reader version you are using to view the pdf files.
Try downloading the latest version of Adobe Reader from : http://get.adobe.com/reader/
and then try viewing the pdf. Also try viewing the document from a different Browser and check. -
Previews of files are wrong when I try to open them
My Mac (Grey/Blue Power PC G4) is 10.3.9 using Photoshop CS version 8. The problem is when I try to open files from a card reader. When I try to go to File Open then select on a preview icon, the preview image is totally different from the actual file. It seems like the preview icons were taken from past files. For example, If I took a picture of chair, the preview might be a shoe, but it will open up in photoshop as a chair. I've tried the card reader on two other macs, thinking it might be the card reader itself, but the preview images were fine on the other two computers. I've created a seperate user account on this Mac thinking it might be the preferences. It showed up correctly on this new user account. I threw away the old preferences on the user account that I am having problems with and restarted. Tried it again and the previews are still wrong. I have also reinstalled Photoshop on this Mac but I still received the same problem.
I don't think that one is the cause of the problem.
I am pretty sure that the trouble must be coming from your User's Library so have another look in there. Check each entry fully in Column view including:
User/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Bridge/cache.
Or you could just abandon your old user account; or pull a copy of the whole User/Library to your Desktop; trash the contents of the original and reboot.
Then put the contents of the copied folder back into your new Library folder a few items at the time as you find that you need them. -

I have an iPhone 4S. When I try to print pictures, from my Windows computer, it doesn't work. Open Office also gives me an "unknown graphic" message. These are JPEGs, aren't they? Why can't I print and what is the unknown graphic?

my mac keeps freezing when i try and print anything from preview. any ideas as to what the issue is or how to fix it?
Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a test, not a solution. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
Step 1
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account.
Enable guest logins and log in as Guest. For instructions, launch the System Preferences application, select Help from the menu bar, and enter “Set up a guest account” (without the quotes) in the search box.
While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your personal files or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
Test while logged in as Guest. Same problem(s)?
After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault in Mac OS X 10.7 or later, then you can’t enable the Guest account. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.
Step 2
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. The instructions provided by Apple are as follows:
Be sure your Mac is shut down.
Press the power button.
Immediately after you hear the startup tone, hold the Shift key. The Shift key should be held as soon as possible after the startup tone, but not before the tone.
Release the Shift key when you see the gray Apple icon and the progress indicator (looks like a spinning gear).
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including wireless networking on certain Macs.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Note: If FileVault is enabled under Mac OS X 10.7 or later, you can’t boot in safe mode.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem(s)?
After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of steps 1 and 2. -
I have some apps on my ipad and I want to install more ,but it doesn't show the apps on the home and when I try to open them from the AppStore it doesn't work , what should I do?
Are you not seeing the icon of the app you just downloaded (it happens sometimes, and the quick fix is to reset your iPad)? Or are you running out of space on your iPad?

When I try to print photos in Iphoto 11 I get a message saying there are no themes installed and it will not let me print. This never happened in previous Iphoto versions and there is no link to get themes. How can I get these themes?
Reinstall.
To re-install iPhoto
1. Put the iPhoto.app in the trash (Drag it from your Applications Folder to the trash)
2a: On 10.5: Go to HD/Library/Receipts and remove any pkg file there with iPhoto in the name.
2b: On 10.6: Those receipts may be found as follows: In the Finder use the Go menu and select Go To Folder. In the resulting window type
/var/db/receipts/
2c: on 10.7 they're at
/private/var/db/receipts
A Finder Window will open at that location and you can remove the iPhoto pkg files.
3. Re-install.
If you purchased an iLife Disk, then iPhoto is on it.
If iPhoto was installed on your Mac when you go it then it’s on the System Restore disks that came with your Mac. Insert the first one and opt to ‘Install Bundled Applications Only.
If you purchased it on the App Store or have a Recent Mac you can find it in your Purchases List. -

You can disable the Adobe Reader plugin in Firefox and use the Adobe Reader program or Preview instead.

have updated both firefox and foxit to their latest versions.
since then cannot open internet pdf files.
hardware accelerator in firefox was already unchecked.
another browser does not have this problem.

Why won't my nano accept alac or wav files when I try to transfer them from my itunes library?
I've ripped my cd collection into itunes in either alac or wav format. Now when I try to add some of these music files to my ipod nano 3rd. gen., they always transfer to the ipod as a aac file. I know that I have to go to preferences and adjust the settings in the pop ups to whichever format I want to make the music files in, and I've done all of this. I'm not sure if I'm missing something here, or if my computer or my 2 ipods are broken somehow. Any help would be great. Thanks.
Check that you don't have this setting checked in the Summary section of iTunes for your iPod:
Otherwise you should be OK - AFAIK all iPod nano models support WAV and Apple Lossless, and a quick test with a 7g nano suggests that syncing a WAV file creates a WAV file on the iPod. If you're seeing something different then some deeper digging may be required ... -
My pictures won't show up on my Hard Drive when I try to view them from my MacBook Pro
I just came back from a trip and have been trying to get my pictures off my iPhone and other camera to put on my external hard drive (it's about 17 GB, so I don't want to waste the space by keeping them on my MacBook). I transferred all the pictures from my phone to iphoto and then to my Hard Drive, and they showed up fine. I had to use the family PC though to get the pictures off of my camera and then transfer them to the same folder on my Hard Drive.
After having consolidated everything, I plugged my hard drive back into my MacBook to view my pictures, but although the folder was there, it appeared empty. I was really worried I had lost all my pictures, but that wasn't the case. When I plugged the hard drive back into the PC they were all there.
I tried taking the folder off the Hard Drive and putting it on my desktop. This worked- all the pictures were back. I didn't want to leave it there though, because they take up so much space, so I deleted the old folder on the Hard Drive and put that folder back. That seemed to work- I was able to see all the pictures again. However, when I plugged the Hard Drive back into my MacBook this morning, the pictures were gone again in the same way *** before.
I am really baffled as to what's going on here. I was hoping someone could tell me how I can keep the pictures on my Hard Drive and be able to view them there.This is true of course, but doesn't cover the situation where some files are in the iTunes Media folder and others are on an external drive. In my case I keep my music in the Media folder and all my films on an external drive (there are too many to have on the internal drive). In iTunes 11, and before, it was easy to add those external files by holding down the alt/opt key while dragging to the sidebar. In iTunes 12 this is no longer possible. There are several workarounds: use TuneSpan to move the file after it's been added; delete the file from the Media folder and empty the trash then use iTunes Get Info which will report the file is missing and allow you to locate it; constantly switch the Add to iTunes toggle on and off as required. All of these require a lot more work than just holding down the alt/opt key while adding.
It constantly gets harder. -

Files not showing when i try to open them in Adobe apps or Dreamweaver
I recently switched to Mac and currently have two machines, one at home and one at work. I noticed a few days ago while working on my mac at home that when opening files in photoshop or dreamweaver, files and folders were not showing, and i was only able to open them through the finder... i thought it might have been a problem with the portable USB hard drive, but the drive works perfect in my computer at work. Now, two days later im having the same problem with the mac at work, but this time accessing files in a network drive that we all share.
The number one problem I have is that while working in dreamweaver when placing an image in my HTML, i cannot see the file when looking for it.
Seems like the files in the finder are cached and only certain ones are displayed....
Any ideas? HELP!
