I can no longer view pdf files in Safari. How can I fix this? I use OSX 10.8.4 and Safari version 6.0.5

Try updating to iPhoto 9.4.1. If it's not appearing in your Software Update yet, try updating using a .dmg installer downloaded from the following page on the Apple website:

Have over 86GB of music now showing as "other" and although it is still on my iPod it is not playable. Most is from imported CDs. I do have a backup file on an external hard drive. How can I fix this?
To import music into your iTunes library on the computer go to iTunes>Help>iTunes Help>Add items to iTunes and follow the instructions
Delete the "songs" that do not play in your iTunes library and reimport them. -

Okay, update on my previous message:
I have replaced my iTunes-folder with a back-up version of the old one. Luckily this turned my podcasts back to normal and replaced the new 'library' with the old one.
This also solved the problem of having to erase your iPod or iPhone, which is no longer necessary.
So my solution is:
1. back-up your iTunes folder (located at 'User/Music/iTunes/')
2. remove iTunes 9.0.3 completely (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1224)
3. drag the iTunes folder back to the Music folder
4. Re-install iTunes 9.0.3.
It worked for me. -
when saving my illustrator file to a pdf it doesnt show all the artwork ie boxes are hidden in the pdf or only showing part of them. Even some text is hidden. I have flattened the artwork so everything is in one layer. How can I fix this?

I have indicated on the attached jpeg where the problem is, basically a line of text is missing at the top and part of the feeding diagram is missing. I created the artwork in different layer and then flattened. All text has been converted to outlines, however the areas being affected have no transparency, I have used solid fills or no fills. I get the same result when I export the file as a jpeg. Hope you can help. -

There is an adjustment in the app for speed. shows up in the upper right corner of the podcast, I think, at least for video podcasts.
If that doesn't help, try a reset: Simultaneously hold down the Home and On buttons until the iPad shuts down. Ignore the off slider if it appears. Once shut down is complete, if it doesn't restart on it own, turn the iPad back on using the On button. In some cases it also helps to double click the Home button and close all apps from the tray before doing the reset. -

I am creating an Automator Action to render PDF files as Images. When the PDF is multiple pages, the first page has no numbers, so it ends up at the end of the list. Here's an example:
When it is a single page, the result is:
filename.png
When it is multiple pages, the result is:
filename 141.png
filename 142.png
filename 143.png
filename 144.png
filename.png
First, it always seems to start at 141...not sure why.
Second, I did try to add an action to rename and make sequential, however the resulting list was in the same order... except with additional numbers at the end.
Any suggestions?I see.

My macbook air takes a very long time to start how can I fix this?
It was fine when I turned it off and the next day when I was starting my computer it took for ever. How can this be fixed. I didn't install anything or made any changes.
Here are a couple of suggestions that I've used to speed up my Air when it seems to slow down
- Try lowering the number of start-up programs. To do this go to System Preferences, click on the Users and Groups option and then go into the Login Items tab. From here you can delete any of the programs that you don't really need when you're first starting up.
- Your system might have a lot of cache and junk files. To clean these out I use a third party tool called CleanMyMac. This one needs a paid license but I'm sure there are other ones, maybe even free ones if you looked hard enough.
- Your hard drive could just be over cluttered. The thing with MBA's is that they have such small capacity hard drives in comparison to other MacBooks. You should usually keep 20GB of free space or more if possible. The more free space you have, the better. You could do this by deleting any of your unwanted documents, pictures, videos, etc. and that can help up your system speed. Another option would be to store whatever you can on an external hard drive or something along those lines.
- Lastly, you can go into System Preferences and disable anything that you don't use regularly. For example I've got bluetooth disabled because I rarely use it.

I've noticed it especially with .pdf files, which always end up on my desktop, even after I double check the download settings under Preferences and then restart Firefox, just in case. Also, when I download .pdf files they will automatically open, but when I download .doc files they do not. I would rather not have downloaded files automatically open, but I can't find how to change that setting either.
You can check for problems with preferences.
Rename or delete the prefs.js file and possible numbered prefs-##.js and user.js files to reset all prefs to the default value.

I have used the same photo hosting site for a couple of years and always used Firefox to go there. Today when I went, the pictures no longer displayed and the login box was missing some parts. I have spent hours trying to fix this. I even downloaded IE back onto my system and it loaded the pictures fine.
I went so far as to delete ver 19, which I downloaded today for the first time, and then reloaded version 18.2- same thing, no pictures. I am loathe to use the reset option as it has never solved anything for me in the past and means aI have to redo a lot of stuff on the Firefox side of things
Any ideas? My site picture site is smugmug.com and my addons and extentions are up to date.

Can you start Firefox in [[Safe mode]] ?
You can also do a clean reinstall and download a fresh Firefox copy from http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/all.html and save the file to the desktop.
Uninstall your current Firefox version and remove the Firefox program folder before installing that copy of the Firefox installer.
It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.
You can initially skip the step to create a new profile, that may not necessary for this issue.

The max pixel x pixel dimensions WAS 4096 x 4096, though with PrE 11, that might have been bumped up.
Now, and with that said, it only takes a very few max pixel x pixel Still Images to bring, even a powerful computer, to a crawl, or a crash.
As an example, I have several very large Projects w/ many thousand Still Images, though all are Scaled to match the Project Frame Size. For a test of something else (Photo Walls), I did a Project with 4000 x 4000 Still Images, and my workstation could handle four of them. With the fifth, I got a hang, or a crash. In that case, I took the Project into Adobe After Effects, and was able to do the work with 25 4000 x 4000 Stills, and had no issues. AE handles such things better, and differently, than either PrE, or PrPro does.
Even though PrPro, as of CS 5, can now handle larger Stills, and can also do a better job of Scaling, if one has the MPE hardware turned ON, with a proper CUDA-capable card, there is still the issue of computer resources, when handling many large Still Images. It is better, than it once was, but with too many, or too many, that are too large, the computer can grind to a halt.

Restart: Press On/Off button until the Slide to Power Off slider appears, select Slide to Power Off and, after It shuts down, press the On/Off button until the Apple logo appears.
Reset: Press the Home and On/Off buttons at the same time and hold them until the Apple logo appears (about 10-15 seconds).
No data will be lost.
