PDF files crashes with Digital Signature

Hi,
I'm using Acrobat 9.1 Pro.  My files are crashing any time I click on "sign document" to add a digital signature.  with the send error box"Adobe Acrobat 9.1 has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."
Tried several documents it is all the same. Clicking on any sub-function under the sign menue results in crashing of the file.
Any idea what the problem is?
Thanks,

...well I guess it was something wrong with my computer that caused this, had problems with my firewall/virus program also and when I got that fixed then the book download worked as it should also.

  • Downloading Adobe Ebook pdf files crashes Adobe Digital Editions

    Hi!
Have tried from two sources buying and downloading Adobe e-books and each time when I download them, Adobe Digital Editions starts up and then it just crashes without finalizing the book. When I then reopen the ADE again the book title is there, but with no author name or any other info, and I can't open it or transfer it to my PRS-505. Has anyone else had this problem and/or know what could be wrong. I just downloaded and installed the new 1.5 version of ADE so it seems that likely is not the problem.

  • Jar files with digital signature -pl help

    Hi there
is there anybody who will help me guiding step by step how to create a jar file (executable) with digital signature?
    thanks in advance.

Sorry, digital signatures have nothing to do with decompilation security. The short answer is, there's nothing you can do about it. Search the forum for 'obfuscator', a lot of people have asked the same question.

    Hi all,
can anyone tell me if it is possible to send a PDF with digital signature from SAP in 4.6C?
I'm converting a spool order into PDF document, and send it by email using FM SO_NEW_DOCUMENT_ATT_SEND_API1..

Thanks for the reference to the digsig user guide. I've reviewed this documentation and the majority of it I had already tried however one TIP that is in this document that I hadn't seen before points to setting up a FDF file to import AD secure to easily import the ID's
More specifically, I have configured LDAP and the Security settings in Adobe Pro and when attempting to connect to our LDAP server is when I run into the issue. I am not able to connect. Is there any additional information that you know of that can shed some light on LDAP configuration with Adobe PDF forms for digital id's?

  • Securing pdf document with digital signatures

I have a pdf document that has digital signatures. We need to secure it so no one who has input their digital signature can go back in later, delete their signature and then 're-sign' it. But I get an error message telling me I can't secure the document because it has digital signatures.
Is there any way to secure the document so only I can secure/unsecure it after digital signatures have been input?
    Thanks!

You don't need to use document encryption to lock the PDF file. You can set the signature field properties to mark all fields as read-only at signature creation. Try this:
Select the Tools > Toolbars > Advanced Editing menu item
Click the Select Object tool on the Advanced editing toolbar (it's the arrow icon)
Right mouse click on the signature field and select Properties from the pop-up menu
Select the Signed tab on the Digital Signature Properties dialog
Select the Mark as read-only radio button and All fields from the corresponding drop-down list
Click the Close button on the Digital Signature Properties dialog
Select the File > Save As menu item and save a copy (in other words, leave the original copy as is in case you find you locked yourself out of the document, that way you'll have a fall-back recovery option)
    Good luck,
    Steve

  • Doc size with digital signature

i've got 2 questions, please help:
    1) why do .pdfs with digital signatures have such large file size? how can i reduce the size?
    2) why do .pdfs with digital signature become text non-searchable?
    thnx
    brg

actually the same signature size isn't such a problem when using Adobe software, but when using pdfCreator, the size increases... pls don't give me lectures on using another software, i need A5 and Adobe doesn't provide it...
so i guess it's the problem within that other pdf maker...
why i need to pdf print the file? one reason is i can print it ( otherwise signatures don' show, protection i guess), the other reason to protect the signatures that for that specific reason only need to be seen.
    thnx.

  • Opening PDF's in Illustrator - Digital signature Issue

Having an Issue with Digital signatures...
Currently we are opening up PDF's into Illustrator and changing some art,  the Digital signature is not showing but its appearing again when the file is made back into a PDF.
Would like the Digital Signature removed but can't do it from Illustrator as its not appearing.
Its not my signature so I can't remove it the normal way by just clearing it from Acrobat???
    Any suggestions anyone???

You could open the pdf, in a text editor and remove the code for the signature. Problem with that is the code is hard to find what to delete, as it is not in postscript section, but all scrambled letters(hexadecimal or something like that).
Open the pdf in illustrator, copy all , and paste into a new document, and your signature will be gone.

  • Form 16 With digital signature giving adobe document corrupted output

    Dear All,
We have configured ads and implementing form 16 with digital signature,we have done the all configuration as per SAP Guide and dezso blogs, but when generating the form 16 with digital signature its giving
"Adobe reader could not open _xxxxx.pdf because it is either not a supported file type or corrupted,
we have done the same configuration in dev its working fine and prd its not working, request you to please provide the solution for the same.
as per some check list i have cheked ads_https is working fine, but when executing the report fp_pdf_test_00  with rfc ads_https its asking for user name and password,we have maintained the same user name and password for abap and java for both adsuser and ads_agent still same issue,
    pelase suggest.
please find attached screenshot for your reference.
    Regards,
    Basis

This can be done but you must use the Document Form var to route the signed pdf. You must configure the FormGuide submit button to 'Submit from PDF' in Guide Builder.
Also the button on the form must be configured to submit as 'PDF' (not XDP). This change is done when you open the form in designer.
Note that after you have submitted the signed pdf you will be dealing with a pdf subsequently.
    Attached is a sample FormGuide.

  • Loading Invoice XML IDoc with digital signature via XI into R/3

    Hi,
I received an Invoice XML IDoc with digital signature via Mail (for test purposes) and want to load it via XI into an R/3 systeme.
My idea is to load the Invoice XML IDoc file via the File Sender Adapter into XI and send it to the R/3 system via the IDoc Inbound adapter.
Due to the digital signature the file looks like this:
    0‚ S      *†H†÷
        ‚ D0‚ @   1 0       +      0‚ '      *†H†÷
        ‚   ‚   ‚ –0‚ ’0‚ û      etc.
When I load the file like this with the File Sender Adapter, an error message occurs in the XI Monitoring as the XML Parser cannot read the file due to the digital signatur (as expected).
Has anybody an idea how I can configure the File Sender Adapter Communication Channel to be able to load only the XML IDoc and ignore the digital Signature strings?
Thanks in advance for your support.

  • Opening pdf files encrypted with private *.p12 key (ANDROID)

    Hi,
I was curious if acrobat reader will be equipped with this functionality?
I have secured pdf files signed with private *.p12 certificate key.
I have installed certificate in Android settings, but I still pdf files won't open. It's says this functionality is not supported.
Is there anything I'm doing wrong? This is SHA 256 something. In other pdf readers it says secured with "adobe.pubsec"
Please respond,  I'll provide any details You want.

Currently we are not supporting this functionality with Reader on Android.
We have noted down your request and will try to incorporate the same in future releases.
    Thanks,

  • PDF files created with Primo PDF or Progeny PDF printer

I am working on a computer with Windows Vista on it and I now have a problem when I create a PDF using the Primo PDF printer, or the Progeny PDF printer -- if Adobe is already open with a file, the new file appears with fuzzy colors. When I close Adobe, the files seem normal. Any idea why this happens? Has anybody had the same problem?

Not a known problem. And the "already launched" problem points to an issue with Reader.
Please submit some samples with a bug report for Reader to debug.
Here is what the issue looks like (click to zoom) :
On the left side is the PDF file opened with no other instances of Adobe Reader open. On the right side is what the exact same file looks like when opened after another instance of Reader (displaying another PDF file) was already open.
It's as if the font rendering engine was incapable of multi-threading. Like Reader can only render the font properly if the PDF file in question is the only one it's got in RAM.
    Worth noting :
Opening a 2nd PDF file with distorted fonts does not affect the first open PDF. That one continues to display normally. Only every subsequent instance of Reader will have this issue.
Files were saved normally via Photoshop CS5, although this issue has been present for at least 2-3 versions if not more (only started saving PDF's around that time - it's quite possible this was ALWAYS an issue).
This is strictly a SCREEN RENDERING ISSUE. The PDF file prints to paper just fine with uncorrupted fonts no matter how it looks on-screen.
As mentioned earlier in the thread, this happens across multiple computers. Whether I create the PDF via Photoshop CS3 in WinXP or via Photoshop CS5 in Windows 7 on a completely different computer... it will have the same issues. Tried it at work, too -- miles away from home. Same issues. Graphic cards are also from different makes, and display the same issue.
This happens to every single font in the document, regardless of how common or obscure a font it is. In this case, it's Helvetica Neue.
Again, because this important : even if the fonts look distorted on-screen, they will print out on paper just fine. This is a screen rendering issue.
Default PDF settings, no layers, vector data non-rasterized.
    Hope this helps.
