PDF files don't open I have tried EVERYTHING to no avail please help
In the last couple of weeks I cannot open PDF files in Firefox. They open fine in Internet Explorer. I have been on the support forum now for over 2 hours and tried EVERYTHING suggested to no avail. It appears this is a common problem.
Please help.

Ipod is not in Itunes 7...I have tried everything, Somone...Please Help lol
Ok, here's the thing. I got this 5th g, 30gb ipod the other day. I installed the little disk, and when I plug it in, my computer recognizes it, installs the device, everything is fine. It's in my computer, blah blah. It even opens itunes when I plug it in, however, there is no "Ipod" in the source list. Doesn't exist. I've gone through the support pages like this one

and I've done it all. Re-installed the software, re-installed itunes, empty temp directory, disabled any third party programs I could, changed the drive letter of the ipod. No IPOD IN ITUNES still. Wth. Any ideas. I'm getting desperate.Sally,
OK since you using 2 computers, we will first focus on the one that will not uninstall iTunes, afterwareds we will get the ipod working on one PC first.
On the PC that will not uninstall iTUnes, goto control panel>add and remove and try if you can to uninstall iTUnes AND quicktime. Then go here and roll down to "Clean up iTunes installer files on the computer" http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=93976
Once done disable any antivirus or security programs, then goto apple.com to download and install the latest iTUnes.
Also on BOTH pcs make sure you have "ipod updater 06-28-2006" you can download and install it here http://www.apple.com/ipod/download/
Once iTunes is properly installed on this PC, you need to only connect your nano to the main PC you use for now so we can get it working, then we'll focus on the other PC if needed -

My iPhoto won't open. It says "Your photo library is either in use by another application or no longer readable." Please tell me I haven't lost all my pics?! I do not have them backed up. I have tried restarting my mac. Please Help!
What haven't you backed them up? You should always have a back up of any important material on your Mac. Make one now:
Most Simple Back Up
Drag the iPhoto Library from your Pictures Folder to another Disk. This will make a copy on that disk.
Slightly more complex:
Use an app that will do incremental back ups. This is a very good way to work. The first time you run the back up the app will make a complete copy of the Library. Thereafter it will update the back up with the changes you have made. That makes subsequent back ups much faster. Many of these apps also have scheduling capabilities: So set it up and it will do the back up automatically. Examples of such apps: Chronosync or DejaVu . But are many others. Search on MacUpdate

For some inexplicable reason, Safari 5.1 will not open in Windows 7. It appears in task manager briefly and then disappears. No windows open; I have tried everything. Any ideas??
I fixed the issue. It was related to the DEP settings on my windows machine.

I have recently switched to Firefox from Google Chrome, and I am finding that I am unable to open any pdf files from the web in any way in Firefox. I cannot download them and open them in Adobe Reader, and I cannot preview them in Firefox, nor can I use the Adobe plugin. I have tried to use the solutions posed by users on this site, but none of them have worked. Any time I make a change to settings to try to solve this issue, the change never allows me to view the pdf file, and the setting reverts to the previous setting after the browser has been restarted. I don't care how I view the file, but I need to either be able to view it as a preview or I need to be able to download it.
I don't know if this is any help I have had a problem where the pdf files were not opening correctly which I think was the problem here. I spent hours of head scratching and have now found out what the problem is. Right click on the Adobe Reader Icon on the desktop. Select properties and then the compatibility tab. You will see the uppermost section in this screen is Compatibility mode. I have Windows 7 and mine was set to Windows XP. I changed that to Windows 7 and now the problem is resolved. In short use the above instructions to check you are using the right compatibility mode for the version of Windows you are using and your troubles should be over!!

.pdf files don't open after having download the creative cloud because of a previous trial version
Dear,
I used a trial version of acrobat pro for a month. After the trial I downloaded the creative cloud to enjoy all the programs.
The creative cloud is well installed on my computer but now every time I try to open a .pdf document it refers to the trial saying that it is over and that I should subscribe, but I did!
I am kind of desperate, I can't open .pdf files.
Can anyhow help?

LionelI am not one to recommend reinstall, but that might be required. One of the problems with CC is that it leaves some info in the system that makes it think it is installed, even after you uninstall it. There is a fix for that, but I don't remember it (right now I am not remembering much with pneumonia). If you decide to uninstall, you should go through the uninstall process (there may be a special uninstall for CC that I have not seen). Then run Download Adobe Reader and Acrobat Cleaner Tool - Adobe Labs. Remove any leftover part of the Acrobat folder, reboot, and reinstall. It may reinstall or you might run into that other fix that is needed. In that case you will have to search the forum.
