  • Configure PDF forms with WAS 620

    Hi,
We are on WAS 620 and want to work with interactive pdf forms which is available with WAS 640.
I was told that this can be done by proper config with WAS 620 also.
Can some one confirm this and let me know where to start and any material I can refer too.

    Hi Venkat,
As far as I know the WAS 620 only supports to output your Forms and Scripts to PDF Format but they are not interactive.
The Adobe Interactive Forms Solution is only available from WAS 640. You can design your forms either in ABAP transaction SFP or in NWDS(Netweaver Developer Studio) Form Designer.
You can ofcourse replace your SMART Forms with the interactive forms in ABAP. Transaction is SFP(Form Designer). This transaction is available only from ECC 5.0 which runs on WAS 640.
Check the following links for all the information you need on PDF Forms and migration of your SMART Forms to PDF Forms. But as you see all this is available from ERP 2004 onwards which is on WAS 640.

  • How to configure a interactive pdf form to an output type

    Hi all,
The user has to open the form, do some manual entry in the form and finally print it. For this I have created a Webdynpro application with the adobe pdf form linked to it. It can be teted by testing the webdynpro application. But can it be linked to some output type, so that when the output type is triggered, the form is opened and user can do some corrections and print it. Please help me in this regard.
    Thanks
    Thivya

Hello. I dont understand why would you do such a thing.
First option is to link it. so if a user e.g. changes the order, he will get the form preview which he can fill and then print as you wanted. All this in ERP and print preview for the form in adobe reader.
Or you can create a WD app, which must be manually opened, form created, form changed and printed.
I hope it helps or you can try to clarify if i don´t understand your problem.

  • My submit button on my PDF form is greyed out (will not work) after posting link to PDF on my WordPress website. It works in Acrobat Reader just fine.

This is where you can see the form as clicked through to from the WordPress website page:
    http://pinetreeplayers.com/ptp_new/wp-content/uploads/2014/12/submit-a-play.pdf
The PDF file was created in Acrobat 11, with a submit button. The submit button is actioned to send the form via email. It works perfectly by itself if the form is opened in Acrobat Reader, but once I upload the PDF to my WordPress site the submit button is greyed out, and will not complete the action to send on-click.
How can I fix this please - can anyone offer advice?

Yes. They need to download Reader and then disable Google Chrome's internal PDF viewer and enable Adobe Reader.
FireFox should also be configured to use Adobe Reader and not the internal PDF viewer.
The internal viewers are created to process PDF documents by not including the features and code to process PDF forms.

  • Interactive PDF forms

    Hi,
In Our project we are creating an Interactive PDF form. This form shows some data that we get from the bapi. While creating the form there is no issue.
We are also saving the generated PDF's at some location in the server. Through a different application we are accessing these old stored pdf's. Now when we save the PDF to our local machine and try to open it we get a message saying:
    >"This document contained certain rights to enable special features in Adobe Reader. The document has been changed since it was created and these rights are no longer valid. Please contact the author for the original version of this document".
With this message all the javascript written on the PDF form get disabled and due to this few of the data are not getting displayed.
What can be the reason for this? Does it has something to do with ADS configuration on the server?
    Please reply.
    Thanks & regards,
    Sujit

    Hi, Sujit!
To me it seems that the document somehow gets modified while you process. Try to save your file on the local machine under a new name, enable and save again.

    Thomas

  • PHP Code & PDF Forms

    Hello-
First if this has been answered already I'm sorry as I have not yet located this answer to these questions (or they are half answered)
    1)  Can I build a PDF form that on submit it will upload to a server (the entire pdf file) using PHP code?  If so please tell me the best way to accomplish this as I want any user to fill out the pdf and then submit to a specific location of a folder on my site.
    2) I know that Adobe Reader v. 6 will not allow people to submit electronically - but am I correct that version 7 to the lastest will allow them to submit the form (via email or FTP if possible)?  I keep finding yes/no. I am aware of Adobe Reader Usage Rights that has to be assigned.
    Thanks in Advance
    -Brit

The answer to question 1 is yes, assuming the form is Reader Extended by a LiveCycle Reader Extensions Server (the Extended Usage Rights in Acrobat are not sufficient).
The answer to 2 is yes and no.  By e-mail, as long as the user has a client configured through MAPI (such as Outlook on Windows) you can automate the attaching to an e-mail (but not sending - the user still needs to click send).  If the user uses a web client like GMail, then no, that can't be automated.  And Acrobat does not have built-in FTP functionality.

  • Not able to generate a test PDF form

    Hello gurus,
I have created PDF forms before using WDJ.
Now I fail to to generate a test PDF form using the help at

I have a supply function attached to the node and have also initialized the node and attributes in doinit method.
The environment is NWDS 7.0.19 with Adobe Livecycle Designer 7.1 and deploying on EP 7.0 SP19. I get error reported as follows:

    Hi ,
Is the ADS configured in your landscape ?
If so please check that the password of ADSUSER expired or not in visual admin.
I guess there is an option to check password never expires .

  • How to use ADS on SolMan instance and SAP standard PDF forms from ERP

    Hi there
We have installed and configurated the ADS service on our Solution Manager (SolMan) Instance called SD1.
SolMan Info: SAP Solution Manager 7.0; Stack 17; Java-Stack installed; SAP Netweaver 7.0
All ADS test reports can be executed successfully:
    FP_TEST_00
    FP_PDF_TEST_00
We have linked our ERP landscape (e.g. system ED1) to ADS service running on SolMan.
ERP Info: ECC 6.0; Stack 13; no Java-Stack installed
All ADS test reports can be executed successfully:
    FP_TEST_00
    FP_PDF_TEST_00
We want to print PDF documents from SAP standard applications on our ERP landscape. Therefore we want to use standard PDF forms provided by SAP and also available in transaction SFP (e.g. form ISSR_NW670_RX_PDF).
Problem: When we try to create a PDF document from the application we get an error message:
Processing exception during a "Render" operation.#Request start time: Mon Feb 02 13:42:08 CET 2009#com.adobe.ProcessingException: Problem accessing data from Destination: dest:FP_ICF_DATA_ED1//sap/bc/fp/form/layout/ISSR_NW605_PDF.XDP?fp-language=DE&fp-cac
I have also checked the trace (see below) and it seems that the system tries to get the form from the SolMan system and not from the ERP system. But the form is only installed on ERP system.
Are there any ideas how to solve this problem?
    Thanks.

    Hi there
Our problem is solved. We had a problem with our ADS user passwords.
    Thanks.

  • Application error while generating PDF form

    Hello there,
I am getting the message "Application error while generating PDF form" and when you hover it has additional information Message Class HREIC_APPL - Message number 258.
I get this upon doing the following steps:
    1. Enter SAP R3, enter HREIC on the transaction code input.
    2. Enter EIC, Activity Search. Searched for an Activity, selected it and click the "PRINT" button.
    3. After clicking the PRINT button, I get the error message "Application error while generating PDF form".
Installed this on development box, did the same configuration in test system, but still I get this error. ADS Configuration is working fine and configured fine.
Is there anything else that is needed to be checked? like Ports, Firewalls, etc?
    Thanks a lot.

Be sure that the RFC name is "ADS" and not anything else.
    Thanks.

When you tried other WDAs with PDFs, where they interactive PDFs?  The reader rights are only needed for interactive PDFs.
    >WebDynpro Exception: ADS: com.adobe.ProcessingException: Could not retrieve a password for credential: ReaderRights(200,101).
That error message would sure to seem to point that the credentials are not accessible to the user that ADS webservice call is being made by.  That would certainly seem to me to point to a configuration problem at the Basis level.

  • Extend SAP R/3 4.x with Interactive PDF Forms

    Hi there,
In this blog of Matthias Zeller <a href="http:///people/matthias.zeller2/blog/2004/06/22/the-hidden-secret-of-adobe-reader hidden secret of Adobe Reader</a> there is the following paragraph:
<i>While mySAP ERP 2004 provides many business scenarios using Interactive Forms out-of-the-box, a lot of customers have asked me how they can use the new Interactive Forms with existing R/3 applications. Therefore, I would like to encourage you to vote for my SAP TechEd presentation proposal ("Extend your SAP R/3 4.x applications with interactive PDF forms"). I plan to discuss how you can connect your existing SAP R/3 applications with SAP Web AS 6.40 to enable interactive form workflows.</i>
Can somebody tell me if this presentation is somewhere on SDN? Or can somebody tell me where i can find more information about this subject?
    Thx in advance.
    Regards Maarten.

    Hi Maarten,
Here's a brief run-down on how you could make use of SAP/Adobe Interactive Forms and Workflow:
    1) Remember that a form is really just a UI for collecting data.  A PDF form can be used to collect data online (connected to your SAP system) or offline, e.g. you could send it as a mail attachment, fill it in, and email it to a central point for uploading into the system.
    2) The main requirements for using SAP Interactive Forms are:
    a) A NW04 (6.40) or NW04s (7.00) WebAs (Java Stack) to run Adobe Document Services. This is the critical component that assigns ReaderRights to the document, e.g. so that the user can change the data and save it on the document.   You could run a WebAs like this alongside your R/3 4.7 - e.g. if you have an XI system or Enterprise Portal you could use that system to run Adobe Document Services.  Every form you create must be generated via the Adobe Document Services to get the Reader Rights. Note: Get a NW04s environment if you can - as this release has usefuul new features such as loading attachments to the PDF, using digital signatures, etc.
    b) A WebDynpro application to generate the Adobe form via Adobe Document Services, and to execute the Adobe Form when using online mode, and to upload offline forms.  Tutorials on how to do this are available in SDN - have a look at the Adobe section within WebDynpro. Note: From ECC 5.0 there are some standard WebDynpros apps provided, but in R/3 4.7 you will need to write your own.
    c) There's also a licensing requirement for any production custom forms (SAP provided forms and cosmetic changes to those forms are free) so make sure you get your SAP account manager involved to help sort out how your intended usage will fit in with your current license agreement and any discounts that may apply.
    3) To use the "form" with workflow has some additional requirements:
    a) You need to store the data entered via the form somewhere that is accessible by Workflow.  The easiest approach here is to use the standard form handling technique Internet Service Requests.  Transaction QISRSCENARIO will let you define all of the form fields, give you BADIs for doing validation, raising workflow events, etc.  Also from ECC 5.0 onwards using Adobe forms as the form entry is a standard option for this technique, so this will help reduce the upgrade impact when you eventually do upgrade.
    b) Assuming you use ISRs, have your WebDynpro App call the function module ISR_PROCESS_EVENT to pass the data to R/3 and do the validation checks.
    c) Assuming you use ISRs, you use the BOR object for notification such as BUS2078, as your main object for the workflow.  The form data is attached to the notification and can be retrieved using function module ISR_SPECIAL_DATA_GET.
    d) If you want to call your WebDynpro App from SBWP (I take you don't have Enterprise Portal?) then use transaction WF_EXTSRV to define the web service to call your WebDynpro app and generate a workflow task for it.  Also you must configure transaction WF_HANDCUST to enable R/3 to handle web services.  Note: If you do have the Enterprise Portal, you can use transaction SWFVISU instead.
I'd strongly recommend you read the ISR cookbook at http://service.sap.com/isr as well.   ISRs aren't the only way to use Adobe forms with R/3 but they are extremely handy if you want to use your Adobe form with Workflow.
As for Lotus Notes, you can use your WebDynpro app to generate and send/receive a form to/from an email address.  You can also put a hyperlink in your workflow task to call your WebDynpro app and use RSWUWFML2 (swap to Enhanced Notifications when you upgrade) to send out a mail with the hyperlink attached as per usual.
You'll also find some useful threads on Adobe forms and Workflow in the SDN BPM Forum.  So if you have workflow specific questions try raising them in the BPM forum.
    Enjoy!
    Regards,
    Jocelyn

  • Using PHP to process submitted PDF Form and Upload FDF to Server

    Hi All,
I have a PDF form online (created in Acrobat 9.0 Pro, NOT LiveCycle Designer!) that, once a user has filled it out and clicks the submit button, I want two things to happen:
    1) I want the data from the form to be submitted to a custom PHP script, which I can do several different things with (store the data in a MySQL database, for example).
    2) I would also like to upload/store/save (not sure of the proper vernacular) the filled out form (FDF file) to the web server.
Now what I need from you lovely people, either directly, or point me to where I can find the following:
    1) How/What options do I choose for the Submit button in Acrobat 9.0 Pro when I create the PDF?
    2) What/Where can I find a PHP code snippet to get the data from fields in the submitted form?
    3) I know you can set up an Acrobat form to e-mail a copy of the FDF file to a specified e-mail address. Instead of emailing that FDF file, I want to store it directly to a folder on my web server. However, just setting the URL in the submit button to a folder on my web server doesn't seem to do the trick. So, I guess what I need is to somehow reference the FDF file with my custom PHP script... something like $_POST["fdffile"] ???? Please if anyone knows how to do this, please let me know! Because, if I can reference the FDF file, I can then use PHP's built in FTP functions to upload it to a specific folder on my web server.
    Thanks for any input!!!

    HI All,
can someone please quide me how I can make this code to work for me?
Where and what folder I have to put this PHP script?
What my http will be?( I will use localhost)
What the name of my PDF file(create by LiveCycle Designer)
What the name of the file I will receive and where(folder) will be send it via the server?
I see these name below in the PHP script but I can not make out what....
    configuration.php
    administrator/xml
    administrator/pdf
    THANK you

  • How to use standard pdf forms for HR

    Hi
We just upgraded our system from 4.6C to ECC6.0. We just did technical upgrade. IF we want to use SAP provided pdf forms for any HR applications like w-2's or something else.. what do  we need.. Can we use them with out ADS ? and without a Java server?
    Thanks

    Hello,
you need a Java server and need ADS configured. To do this is not easy for me as a application developer, but it is easy for the basis guys. Ask one to make this ready for you. Esitmated time is like 3-5 days. ADS is free for printing (replaces SAPscripts and Smartforms by Adobe forms).
For HR forms I recommend create your custom ones, because you can develop it very quickly and it will meet any specific requirements of your business. This way you will spare much time and psychic sanity searching and changing SAP HR standard (my 2 yrs experience).
    Have a nice day, Otto
p.s.: If you have further interest in Adobe, move your questions to Adobe forms forum under NetWeaver.

  • Populating a PDF form with database data

I would love to know how (if possible) to populate an Adobe PDF form with data pulled from an Access database.
    Background
I have a registration form already created using Adobe LiveCycle which is used by people to fill in their details.  With a built-in xml schema, the user saves the form and sends them to me.  I extract the data into an xml document which I can then import in an Access database using VBA code.
    The Need
When it comes time to re-register, much of the original data provided by the user has not changed.  Rather than ask them to fill out the form all over again, I would like to send them their original data and they can update whichever fields they need to.  With the xml schema built into the form, I would love to turn this form into a two-way avenue for both importing and exporting data.  Is this possible?
Any assistance in this matter would be greatly appreciated.  Please let me know if I have not provided enough information.
    Brett

You can connect the form to the DB using anODBC connection. This functionality comes as part of Acrobat but the form must be Reader Extended by the full LiveCycle Server version of Reader Extension to allow this in Reader. In your case, if your system is the only on ethat will interact with the DB then this might be a viable solution (but you woudl have to use Acrobat). This solution woudl involve create an ODBC connection in your system then configuring the form to make use of that connection.
    Does that make sense?

  • PDF form submission problem - works in Acrobat and Reader, but not when embedded in browser

    Hello everyone,
I am trying to submit a PDF form to an application server.
To do this, I added a "Submit" button to the PDF, configured the server's address and submit format, and tested the button.
I opened the PDF in Acrobat Pro, clicked the button, and my web application received the form in PDF format just as I wanted.
To make it work in Reader, I had to extend user rights via Acrobat Pro, and then the form worked inside Reader as well.
Up to here, everything went fine.
Then I embedded the PDF in a web page (which will be the final scenario) and it all stopped working.
The submit button doesn't do anything anymore, and no data is sent to the application server.
I even tried switching from the form's submit mechanism to calling event.target.submitForm(...) in Javascript directly, but nothing changed (meaning this too worked only when opening the form as an "offline" pdf, but not when embedding it in a web page).
Is there something I am missing? Something else that must be configured/activated in order to be able to submit the PDF when it is in the form of an embedded object?
    Many thanks in advance,
    Alex

    Thanks for your reply, Paul.
I tested the submit button both in Reader 9.3 and Acrobat 8 (which is the same I used to RE the PDF).
Apparently I got it working too, but only by deploying my embedding web page to an application server.
The final environment the PDF will be embedded into will be inside a web application deployed to an application server, so I guess my problem is solved.
It didn't work only when embedded into a local test.html web page saved on my PC...
Thanks again, have a good day.
    Alex
