PDF form Issue

I recently built an interactive form with ID6 and active filed in Acrobat, for use throughout my organisation but many of the staff using it are having problem saving it onto the network. I'm being told by my IT support that the form is at fault but it's not happening to everybody. Is there a way that I can get the form checked out for any bugs that might be causing this issue before I go back to IT and point the finger at the network?

me either, i don't have any luck on fdf files

  • Webdynpro PDF forms issue

    Hello All:
I am facing an issue, with opening pdf forms using webdynpro applcaions, after applyign support stacks.
I am using linktoaction UI element to display a pdf form which is stored in mimereporsitory, and i am displaying it after getting URL. and by using abap class cl_wd_runtime_services=>attach_file_to_response.
This was working fine until, our recent support packs, but after support packs are applied, we are getting an error saying
Unable to open form yyyy.pdf from yyy.yyyy.com .
Unable to open this internet site. the requested site is either unavailable or cannot be found.
We applied support stacks both to, abap side and portal side, and we confirmed that issue is comign from portal side.
One other thing, the applicaiton works fine when i test applicaiton by itself, but the problem arises when the application is opened from portal.
And the error occurs only when i open portal using IE8, but it works fine IE9, chrome or mozilla.
We are on the latest SP Stack 10 for Application Server Java on EHP1 FOR SAP NETWEAVER 7.0
    Thanks,
    Ratna.

    Hi Ratna,
We are having the same issue when downloading pdf with Internet Explorer 8.
We have EHP1 too, and the WDA works nice without the portal.
    Did you find the solution?
    Thank you.

  • CS3 Lifecycle PDF form issues opening and blank pages

I downloaded a PDF form and added text fields, numeric and calculated fields (FormCalc) using Lifecylce in CS3.  I now have CS5 and Lifecycle ES  When I use the original form and input data it calculates and looks fine.  I can open it no issues.  I email it to my clients, some say the fields are blank, some say they get an error opening it, others have no issues.  Do I need to make some sort of changes to the PDF file, or maybe the ones that can't open or see blank don't have the correct version of Reader?
I can provide the file if necessary

Everything seems to be in order .....can you send the problem PDF to [email protected] and I will try to reproduce the issue. Please include a description of the issue in the email as there is no corelation between the email and this forum.
    Thanks

  • HELP! PDF Form Issues on Windows Side

    Hello -
I have a fillable PDF form that I created using Acrobat 9.0 Pro.  It works great on the Mac side using Reader.  However, when I view on the Windows side (I use a parallel system) it displays but it then freezes when I try to fill in the required form field.  I then have to hit Control Alt Delete to get out of it.  I use Acrobat X (10.1.3) Reader on the Mac and PC side.
I have checked my security settings and everything looks fine and available for users to fill it out.
Does anyone have any idea what might be going on?
    Thanks!!!

I have Acrobat reader XI. It is local PDFs from scanning images and faxes. It is not color or anything.

  • PDF Forms issue

When I complete a rental doc in PDF Forms and then send it as a Flattened Copy it does not send the figures I type in. Any ideas?

What application are you using to fill out the PDF form?  It sounds like it might be Adobe Reader for iOS or Android, is that right?
    Thanks,
    Josh

  • PDF Form issues

I have created a right-enabled PDF form using acrobat pro 9 and Life Cycle Designer so our clients can fill and save it locally using the reader. It has worked fine during our testing but 10% of our clients couldn't save the information in the form or could save the information the first time only. About 15% of the clients could save it fine bet when they emailed them back, the "Filling of form field" was not allowed. Thus Acrobat Standard or Pro showed a blank form. I have never seen this. Does anyone have any idea what might be happening?

Have you collected information on the version of Reader that they are
using, and what version do you require in your instructions?

  • Interactive PDF Form Speed Issues

Hello!  I am looking for some info for an interactive PDF form issue.
A little info on the form:
Created in Acrobat PRO 9.4.5, Windows.
    File Size: 559KB
Ultimately the file is placed up on a website, it is 3 pages with a colored background on each page and a lineart logo.  It has text fields for things like name, phone etc., has some radio buttons, drop-downs, two links to other pages within the site and two links to other PDF docs.  It does not have a flowable layout and is only being populated by the end user.  The form has buttons on the bottom to email, print, save & clear the form.
The form tested fine from our file servers and/or local machines, the client had no issues testing when we sent them the files.  We start to get into issues once the file was posted on their site and the results from testing vary significantly as I would suspect can be somewhat expected due to machine, browser, Acrobat and/or Reader variances etc. but maybe there is something we can do to improve how it functions(?)
Some end-users have come back saying that the form takes a while until they can enter text in any of the fields following their first click in one of the form fields to begin using the form.  Also commented on was that the PDF pages scroll slowly as they move further down the page.  We do not have any details about any browser versions, settings etc. and also did not receive this feedback directly.
Internal testing we have found some of the following accessing the form from their site (the site is a DNN site using a file handling module),
I am going to try and limit the info below as it could get very lengthy w/ all the various outcomes:
I did not have any issues on first click or scrolling in either IE8 or Firefox4, I do however have some slowness when I click the links that go to other pages on their site and also the links to the other PDF documents (I can only get this to occur when I am accessing the form through the link on their site it does not occur when I test any other way either locally from my desktop, our file server or even when I right click the file that resides on the web server and open w/ either of my browsers).
A co-worker tested every which way and could not get any slowness at all any way that she tried.  Another tested and found IE on their machine to have the hangups but not Firefox.  And a third had the initial click slowness (but also said he had that when he saved the file from the site to his desktop and opened it), please note browser & Reader/Acrobat versions probably vary from each person testing.
What I am feeling is that the form itself is ok just that the user variances can produce different outcomes but I just want to check and see if anyone else has had anything similar or has any suggestions to maybe "speed" the form up covering a variety of users.
    Thanks very much!
    Robin

When you fix it in Acrobat, what you want to do specifically is remove whatever action is present in the button and add a "Submit a form" action to the Mouse Up event. Specify that you want to submit the entire PDF and use the mailto URL you showed earlier, making sure there are no spaces.
For it to work in desktop versions of Reader prior to 11, you need to Reader-enabled the document by selecting: File > Save as Other > Reader Extended PDF > Enable More Tools
The button won't work with the native iOS PDF viewer, but certain other PDF viewers such as Adobe Reader and Readdle's PDF Expert allow you to email a filled-in form and will support the button action.

  • Why would my PDF Form print out the tab order on top of my form fields?

When this user prints out the filled out PDF form we created, it prints the tab order as a little square numbered box right on top of the form field entry.  The tab order prints over all types of fields, text entry fields, check box fields, etc.
I am not sure if this issue is related to someone using a non-Adobe PDF reader, or an issue with their printer?   Unfortunately, we cannot duplicate this issue ourselves and are hesitant to interrogate our client futher on the matter.
Has anybody else ever seen this type of print out from a PDF form issue?

Thanks for your reply!  Based on your suggestion I did a little experimenting.
This is a form saved to Enable User Rights so PDF viewers can fill out and email or save the form.   After seeing your question, I opened the form for editing (actually saving a copy first that was not restricted, and editing the copy).  I then toggled the Tab Numbers on via Tools > under the Forms header I clicked Edit > Other Tasks > Edit Fields > Show Tab Numbers.  After revealing the tab numbers I then tried to save the form as a Reader Extended PDF, but the Enable Additional Features option was grayed out.  Even if I wanted to, I could not save the form with the tab numbers revealed.
The form itself was also received by our company electronically and when viewed does not show the tab number order and when we print it, it prints as expected (no tab order numbers).
We are suspecting that this may be an issue either with the end users printer? Or possibly viewing and printing via an alternate viewer like Foxit?
Anybody run across this odd behavior?

  • Acrobat Standard (9.4.6) - Issue: "Acrobat could not create a new PDF form"

I have Adobe Acrobat Standard (version 9.4.6).  I am trying to create a form but when I start the form wizard, locate the document to convert and click next, I get an error message "Acrobat could not create a new PDF form."  What's wrong?  (I've used this feature before in Adobe Pro so I am familiar with the process but I am using Standard now).  It's not letting me upload my document (an MS Word 2003 document).  Please, someone, anyone, help!  I think I got a bad batch of software here.  Any suggestions?  If it's hopeless, who do I call for a replacement if that's the case?  Is this software under warranty?

    Hello Michael,
Thank you for your email.  The file I am trying to convert to PDF and create a form with is a MS Office Word 2003 file.  It isn't any specific file; the issue happens every time.  I type my text in the Word doc and then proceed to open Adobe Acrobat Standard and use the wizard to create a form from an existing file.  I tried to repairing the software but it does not help.  Any other suggestions?  Is this version of software defective?  I really need this feature.  I look forward to your reply.  Thanks.

  • Issue when opening PDF forms in Acrobat X

First, pardon me if this is the incorrect forum for this post.  I did not locate any general technical support board for Acrobat X but I could have missed it.
I have a user who has Adobe Acrobat X Standard (10.1.6) installed on his computer system.  He is able to generate PDF files and open regular PDF files without issues.  However, if he opens up any PDF which is a form, Acrobat immediately crashes.  His computer is a Windows 7 Professional x64 system.  Antivirus on the system is GFI Vipre Business.
Here is what I have tried:
Update Acrobat with the latest patches/updates.
Different Windows profile with administrator rights.
Removed Acrobat and reinstall through normal convential means.
Removed Acrobat via tool at http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html.
Remove Acrobat and then do a manual clean of the registry and Windows Explorer.
Cleaned up fonts on the system.  This might not have been done right but based on the error, perhaps you all can offer suggestions on if this error is related to font issues.
I would perform a system restore, but this user is unsure of when this issue started happening exactly.  So, we'd be in the dark on this.  The only thing that I can think I haven't tried is a wipe of the computer.
    Here are the specific errors:
This error is received when trying to directly open a form PDF on the system:
Title: Font Capture: Acrobat.exe - Bad Image
Message: C:\Windows\system32\ATMLIB.dll is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error.  Try installing the program again using the original installation media or contact your system administrator or the software vendor for support.

    Thank you!

Hi, I am having the same problem as your user when I try to open a pdf form in acrobat. I also have had a similar problem, still unresolved, described here: http://forums.adobe.com/message/5146964.
I can't find any solutions. I even tried uninstalling Acrobat X pro and instead gong back to installing Acrobat 9. Same problems persist. Don't know what to do.

  • Issues with a PDF Form

I have a few concerns regarding the attached image.  I created a form in LC ES2 and saved as a PDF.
When I click in the "Hours" and "Notes" column, it displays a drop-down list box. I would like to eliminate the drop-down list box from both columns.
I set the fields in this column as a decimal.  However, it will not allow me to type $150.00 in it but will allow me to type other currency.  How can I fix this issue?
Once I save the document into a PDF form.  I would like to protect or keep a user from changing the numbers in the "Hours" and "Rate" column.  How can do this?
Please provide some suggestions, and thanks in advance.

    Hi Patrick,
For creating Multilevel Approval workflow,  you can  implement it using SharePoint designer 2010.
Please refer to the following blogs:

Also you can customize a state machine workflow using Visual Studio:

For Digital Signatures: Adobe has changed the behavior around digital signatures and SharePoint-hosted PDF files. when digitally signing a SharePoint-hosted PDF file, it will be saved directly to SharePoint if that PDF file is already checked out.

  • Issue with being able to fill in data and save pdf forms in adobe reader

    Hi All,
This is my first time posting on this forum so not sure what way to go about it so i'll just start by explaining my problem.
I purchased adobe acrobat xi standard to create pdf forms(fillable forms) so that the receipents of these forms can open them in adobe reader, save them on their local drive and fill them in.
However, when I uploaded them online(as they will be downloaded from an internal website) - when the forms are opened in the browser this error appears
Currently when this error appears the client canno fill in their data or save it.
Any help on this issue would be appreciated!
    Noel

Thanks for replying pat - that was another question I have. Is there a way I can get a dialog box to pop up when they click on the forms button?
    Like the following;
As at the moment, they would have to click the actual "save" icon - and the same error will appear on their local disk?

  • Issue with printing from web pdf forms

Hello, This printer prints locally in an okay amount of time but If we go to a web site that we usually go to and pull up a pdf form, it takes up 3 minutes to print the pdf form.  Any suggestions to fix this issue?
    {Personal Information Removed}

    hi there,
could you provide the community with a little more information to help narrow troubleshooting? Things like your printer model and your operating system help out a lot.
You can say thanks by clicking the Kudos Star in my post. If my post resolves your problem, please mark it as Accepted Solution so others can benefit too.

  • PDF Form Mandatory Field Validation Issue in Workspace

If we open a PDF Form with mandatory fields (e.g. Mortgage-Prebuilt sample PDF form) in Workspace and then click the Workspace Complete button without completing the mandatory fields, there will be mandatory validation check which will highlight all the mandatory fields and display the mandatory fields error message dialog box.
However, if we click the Workspace Complete button again afterwards, the mandatory fields error message dialog box will not be displayed. The dialog box will be displayed only if our mouse is moved to any active/enabled fields/buttons in PDF form.
Does anyone encounter this strange issue before?
Kindly advice what should we do to solve this issue.

    Hi Patrick,
As this is the modal popup, there is a close button .
Now in the ACTIONS tab try to create an action for CLOSE.

  • Issue passing values to text symbols in Dynamic text PDF forms

    Hello Everyone,
I am facing a problem related to Dynamic texts in Adobe PDF forms (Text node of type include text). I am able to pass the dynamic values to the Text node properties but i am not able to pass the values to Text symbols inside the Text node. When tested it says the field not found. I have the same structure and field in the CONTEXT as that of the text symbol. The problem i see is because in PDF the field names have $record.(fieldname) ?
Please share your thoughts if anyone has faced similar problem or know how to handle it.
    Thanks a million in advance,
    Chandu

Open the report up in the Designer and Click on Edit, Subreport Links. Likely what you can do is use Shared Variables to pass values from the main report to the subreport.
You need to do this in the report first. If you are using RAS then you can at runtime. If RAS is not available to you then no way in code.
    See these samples:
    Root Page

Enterprise Samples (including managed and unmanaged ras)

    Exporting Samples (RAS)

Also refer to the DSK help files for the Engine or RAS and search on the subreportcontroller.
If you are using RAS I'll move your post to the SDK forum.
