  • PDF Form Power in Pages

    What are the chances of Pages coming out with the new ability to place form fields in a document so that we can create fillable PDF forms for clients?
    Steve

    The problem is... is that Adobe Acrobat doesn't manage the pages within a document as well as "Pages" does.
    Hmm... oh well... thanks for your response.
    Does anyone have a solution or work around to create form fields for a document created in Pages?

  • Opening PDF Form in Body Page

    Hi,
    It will be really great if some one can answer two of my question.
    1. Is it possible to open a deployed form into a subsection of our web browser where company logo, left navigation panel , right navigation panel remain on there postion and fillable form open only into a part of body.
    2) Is it possible to prepopulate some fields of our PDF form on the basis of login credentail entered into portal application which get authenticated against LDAP.

    Abhishek

    I also noticed we're prompted to allow a security warning when opening it locally. It says the document is trying to connect to itself. Is this normal?

  • Interactive PDF Form in Landscaped Page; Problems with Additional Pages

    Please see the attached screenshot.
    I created a form (in Word) which has 10 pages of the exact same fields except for the side number (the 10 pages number from 1 to 200) which numbers each line to be filled out by the end user.
    I have created each field for page 1 (no easy feat as Acrobat 11 did not recognize most of the necessary fields) and all of the checkboxes must be grouped so that only one checkbox is able to be picked.  When I try to distribute each of the fields to the other 9 pages, or even if I copy and paste the fields to page 2, then the fields turn portrait rather than landscaped and I am unable to rotate them.
    I have tried extracting page 1, rename it to page 2, update the numbering scheme (which throws everything out of alignment), and then reinsert it behind page 1, and again, it rotates the landscaped fields to portrait.
    Is there any way possible for me to EASILY recreate this page nine more times (I have already spent approximately 10 hours working on this one page getting everything created and lined up correctly)?
    In doing some research yesterday, I saw that this was a software limitation issue and that Acrobat does not allow fields in landscaped pages to be recreated as landscaped fields (I do not have this problem with the same type of form created in portrait pages and can distribute fields all day long through pages and pages of PDFs.
    Does anyone have any suggestions or guidance that I can draw upon other than having to create each page separately (I just do not have the time as the one page took me about 10 hours)?
    Thank you so much!

    That's very disappointing ...
    Thanks Bernd, for your answer!

  • Send PDF Form from web page

    Hi all. I have a web site with a PDF fillable form. Currently, customers must print and snail mail it to us. Most of them use web based mail, so the old mailto: function (which relies on email client like Outlook) is way out of date.
    I cannot find a solution in the forums. Can anyone tell me if I can wrap the form in php and use a php mailer to forward it to my sites mailbox? This would be similar to the standard Contact Us form submission.
    It seems Adobe would give some guidance here as this has been asked several times in the forums. Could really use some pointers. Assistance much appreciated.
    Bob

    > It seems Adobe would give some guidance here as this has been asked several times in the forums.
    They have.
    You have the Doc.submitForm method (listed in the JS API Reference) that will allow you to submit form data to a webservice. There are 6 code examples of how to use this method included in the API Reference as well.
    For XFA forms created in LiveCycle Designer, there is an "HTTP Submit" button as one of the default form objects provided to the user.
    You also have the entire "SOAP" object available to you in Acrobat JavaScript (again, covered in the API Reference) if you need to make very advanced webservice calls.

  • Converting Word Doc to PDF Form

    I am trying to convert a word document into a PDF Form.
    I have tried running the 'Form Wizard' in Acrobat 9.x Pro. I have the current version, just can't remember the rev. number.
    Supposidly the Form Wizard will recognize areas of the word doc as fields and insert fields automagically. I have tried the wizard several times from within Word 2007 and Acrobat Pro. no luck. Nothing is recognized.
    Any ideas? I don't want to have to manually re=create the form unless I have to.
    I am attaching the PDF doc and hoping someone can help with this.

    I know it's user to user, but I'm an optimist, and figured I'd toss in a UX suggestion while I was at it.    Apologies if that aside was misplaced.
    I'm pretty sure none of the "fields" I made were actual form fields according to Word, they were just things like text boxes, or, more frequently, tables (the doc I was working from had values filled in where form spaces should go, so I frequently used text -> table to keep the formatting as consistent as possible, then deleted the filled-in values).
    One of the reasons I wanted to do it this way is that it can sometimes be a pain to line up the form fields in Acrobat such that the text when filled in lines up with the already-present text (or am I missing a trick?)
    Also, as an update, I tried PDF-form-ifying just page 1, and got the same error, then tried PDF-form-ifying everything but page 1, and again, same error.

  • PDF presentation printing in handout form, 4-6 slides per page.

    I have a 40 page PDF that was created in PPT. I need to print it in handout form, 4-6 per page. How do I do that?

    It is easier to go back to the PPT and create handouts from there by printing to the Adobe PDF printer. You can print the current PDF to a new PDF with the selection of multi-up in the printer properties.

  • FormCalc. Hiding the subtotal footer in PDF form

    Hi, LCD gurus!
    I've got a problem that I'm unable to solve for a couple of days.
    There is a PDF form (consignment note) with header, lots of positions and footer. The original task with it was to make the last position of the data table be on the same page with the form footer.
    I managed to do this by adding second table (consisting of 1 row), placed in subform together with form footer. The last position of the main table was dynamically hidden, it's content was copied to the second table.
    The subform didn't allow page breaks, so my task of placing page breaks before the last position of the form was completed. It was done by Adobe
    Now the only trouble is that it is necessary to have page footers with page total on every page. That's where the problem settled.
    If I create a main table footer (calculating the totals by FormCalc) with checkbox "Include footer in final page", I need to hide it when some positions of the main page are on the same page with the second (one-row) table. Of course, I set up the footer of the second table with the necessary calculations, but it doesn't matter at the moment. The problem is that I can't figure out, where is the "tail" of the main table located until the layout:ready event has come. After that I know the page of any table position, but it's too late to hide the footer - after layout:ready hiding the footer won't lift up the second table and there's an annoying blank line in that case.
    I tried another way - not checking "Include footer in final page". Then the footer on the pre-last page of the document doesn't appear in case this page is last for the main table (and then follows page break and the second table with form footer).
    So, my global question to the form developers is - is it possible somehow to get (at least appoximately) page of form elements BEFORE the layout:ready event?
    Or is it possible to make $.presence = "hidden" of the element after layout:ready and not having blank line instead of it?
    Thanx for your reading this stuff up to this

    Hi Reeha,
    In case you need to use any script you may prefer formCalc script, which is very easy to use. You can use any script out of the two as per your understanding and comfort level.
    If you require more technical information about FormCalc, refer to the Adobe XML Forms Architecture (XFA) Specification, version 2.4, available from:
    [http://partners.adobe.com/public/developer/xml/index_arch.html.]
    and

    Hope this helps you

  • 1099 Two forms per page

    We are looking for a PDF template solution where we can print two 1099 forms per page. I can see there is an Enhancement Request BUG 7604141 but we need a fix sooner than that may become available.

    Our organization is having this issue with the new Adobe forms that were released. The 1099 smartforms print 2 forms per page but the 1099 adobe forms are only printing 1 form per the OSS  note that was just released - Note: 1949022. Is there somewhere in config that we can select to print 2 per page?
    We are using IDWTCERT_US_1099MISC which will print just 1 form per page ( we also had to make some adjustments because the top gets cut off...)
    form IDWTCERT_US_1099MISC1 will print 2 forms per page but it is not a new vendor that prints on the form it is a copy of the first on the page
    The 1099 Interest adobe form prints 2 per page with IDWTCERT_US_1099INT - this is curious too because the smartform prints 3 forms per page
    Has anyone else experienced this issue? Do you know how to resolve it?I am considering putting in a problem report.
    Thank you

  • Subtotal in PDF form

    Hello,
    I need to know how to write a script in PDF form in every column and subtotal.
    I use these code but it doesn't work.
    var i = 0
    var p = $layout.page(ref($))
    var d = 0
    var qnt = 0.000
    for i = 0 upto (Main.table.DataOject.all.length - 1) step 1 do
      d = $layout.page(ref(Main.table.DataObject<i>.POSNR))
      if ( d == p ) then
           Main.table.subtotal.SUBNET  = Main.table.subtotal.SUBNET + Main.table.DataObject<i>.KZWI3
      elseif ( d > p ) then
        break
      endif
    endfor

    Hello,
    the recommended solution is to do this in backend (add a row into the table of rows, add a column which will be hidden in the form, where there will be something like 'X' if the form is a subtotal, based on the 'X' mark you can change the row color for example). Or you can do that in the form using scripting but that is not very friendly.
    Regards Otto
    p.s.: note there is Adobe forms forum under NetWeaver

  • Can't send a PAGES document Via email in PDF form ... used to be done by clicking share and PDF  HELOP

    creating a document on pages and trying to share it via email in PDF form used to be really easy...
    How does this work now?  help

    I always just do file->print. Then in the lower left is a menu that said "PDF" and just pick "Mail PDF" from the dropdown and a new email is composed with the PDF attached. One step to print, one click to choose mail and you're done. I just tried this on the latest Yosemite and Pages updates and it works fine.

  • How can I erase a full page of comments on a PDF Form I made all at once. (the comments)

    I work for a Hvac Company and we make these Material lists in PDF form. I put these lists in a dropbox and they export it to there tablets. When they edit the list and email it back to me its saved on there tablet and they have to delete the one on there tablet and export a new one. They have to do this many times and it gets to tedious and time consuming. Is there a way for them to delete the whole page before it gets automaticly saved or to stop it from auto saving when they close it out. Or to keep an original copy on there tablet that wont be saved over?

    If someone wants to send a PDF file via email it has to be saved first.
    To delete comments in the desktop version of Adobe Reader, just select them all in the Comments panel and press Delete. That feature isn't available in the mobile apps.

  • There are hidden pages in the PDF form I have.  How can I see and print all without clicking on the

    I have hidden pages in the PDF form I'm using (but didn't create).  How can I see and print all the pages at once without clicking on the "next page" button.  In the initial view, there are four pages, but if I click the "next page" button, there are a total of 12 pages in this document.  This is three budget years, each year being 4 pages long.

    You're most likely dealing with a dynamic XFA form created in LiveCycle Designer. You can open it, click the button, and save it, and it will most likely be 12 pages when next opened, but it depends on how the form is set up. The ability to make edits to an XFA form in Acrobat is very limited, especially for dynamic forms, so things like flattening aren't possible.
    If it's not an XFA form, you'd still need to click the button at least once and save. To say for sure what's possible, I'd need to see the document. Can you post it somewhere?
