PDF from another app

How do I open a PDF doc from another app when that app does not use the 'open in' option? Have to do it from iTunes?

If you have the PDF stored with another app and you want to open the PDF in Adobe Reader, you can choose the Open In option from that app and then select Adobe Reader in the list. However, if that app does not provide the Open In option, there is no directly mechanism to transfer the file to Adobe Reader. You can transfer documents to Adobe Reader via iTunes by connection your device to your computer and in the Apps tab, under File Sharing, copy the documents that need to be synced and then click on Apply.

I am facing this problem while start debugging the Provider-Hosted app through VS2013. I want to deploy the app with same version. So please let me know any solution
to remove the app instance from office365 online, so that I can deploy the same app with same version on the specified "Developer Site".
Note: If I change the version in AppManifesst.xml file then this problem/error gets resolved. But I want to deploy with the same version as
per my business requirement.
The actual error renders while I click to "Start" button of the Visual Studio 2013 to deploy the provider-hosted app, for the sake
to deploying it on say "ABC" site collection (i.e. developer site). I work on office365 online. Therefore, request you to please provide the solution for SharePoint online office 365. The occurrences is:

Did you updated the AppManifest.xml file
and change the version.

Yes... because no such functionality exists.
If the media was purchased via iTunes, select File > Transfer purchases.
If the media was not purchased via iTunes, then copy it from the original computer or the backup of that computer.
iDevices are not and have never been backup devices.

No color toolbar icons from standard launch, ok when launched from another app.

When launched from another app like google earth the toolbar icons are in color.
When launched normally the icons have no colors.
Currently Thunderbird 24.6.0

another experiment.
When you have the colour icons, Select Help menu > about (what version is this) when you have the black do the same and see if it is different versions. (pressing F10 will make them menu bar visible if it is not.)
Thunderbirds icons changes from living colour to black and white quite a few versions ago.
Reasons for color are;
* An old version
* An add-on by way of a Theme
* The running of Thunderbird in XP compatibility mode in Windows

File URL doesn't pass from another app

I can enter the file URL "file:///sdcard/video.mp4" and the video plays just fine. When online it also brings up "www.file.com" in the window, which would be best that it didn't.
When I pass the same URL from another app, the URL bar shows "http://www.file.com///sdcard/video.mp4", when online. When offline, it shows "http://file///sdcard/video.mp4". Consequently the video doesn't play.
I have tried the same with 9 other browsers and the substituted URL is different, so I assume that it is the browser doing the substitution rather than the app.
I want to play the video from the app through FireFox whether offline or online using the same URL that works directly.

You don't.

Can't 'print to pdf' from ANY app, it just...

stops after processing some bytes.
As the title says, happens from any app, text, preview, word, safari, firefox...
and upon further inspection, distiller crashes when trying to distil a .PS file (generated from indesigncs2) into a pdf.
i have tried:
repair prefs
deleted distiller and acrobat related prefs
reinstalled acrobat (version 7 btw)
tried to use distiller and 'print to pdf' option prior to each option - still no go.
however, i created a new account, and in the new account, it worked fine hmmm, so its my account..
what can i do to fix my pdf problems??

Nice troubleshooting, particularly using another user account to determine it's something in your account that's causing the problem. Without dragging your entire user Library/ Preferences file to the Desktop and then returning .plists a few at a time to watch for the problem to return, you could check your user preferences (.plist) files in Terminal by entering the command:
find ~/Library -name '*.plist' -exec /usr/bin/plutil -lint {} \;

I've seen scattered reports of problems using OS X's built-in print-to-PDF when some versions of Adobe software are installed. Are Distiller etc. installed for general use or under the relatively rare single-user access? In the hunting in the dark category, with no programs open, you could look at Activity Monitor in both user accounts and see if you spot any background user (non-system) processes running in your normal user account that aren't in the test user, then force-quit those user processes to see if printing to PDF works without conflicts. I'm not sure what log a failed print to PDF would go into, but you can open Console look through console.log, system.log, and CrashReporter et al. for events timestamped around the time of a failed print-to-PDF attempt. The backtrace of any failure report may provide additional clues.

How can i get APP_ID from another app?

I need some help here
I have 5 applications and now I need to create a new one, and in this new applications i need to have links to these 5 already existing apps.
The problem is that i need to make the links parameterized, not hard coded.
So my question is: How can I get the ID of some application from another application?
And I need to get this ID without starting the first application ( the application whose ID i wonna get)
Is there some kind of sys table where are kept the application names and their IDs?

Hi Tsveti,
then it's more complicated, because the APEX repository views are not available in this release.
I would see two options you have:
1) grant access to table FLOWS_020000.wwv_flows to your application schema. This table contains the APEX applications or
2) create an application level item for each of your 5 application ids. eg: TRACKER_APP_ID, SUPPORT_APP_ID, .. and use a computation to fill it with the hardcoded app id. In your code reference them with :TRACKER_APP_ID or &TRACKER_APP_ID.
This has the advantage, that they are just hardcoded in one place and easy to maintain.

PDF from Google Apps gmail/gdrive by Cloudprinter failed on HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus e-All-in-One

1. HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus e-All-in-One
2. Linux OpenSuSE 12.2 64-bit
3. Failed , after the failed message is a very long URL to my gmail attachment.
4. This issue occured from the beginning, I have this printer only for one week.
When I print different kinds of PDF's from Google Apps (gmail and gdrive) by Google Cloudprinter I got a failed message at the HP eprinter Recent Print Jobs list.
Other prints from Google Cloudprinter, for example a webpage or a Google Docs document (not PDF) is working fine.
Also sending the same PDF's directly to my @hpeprinter.com e-mail address is working fine.
Is this a problem by Google Cloudprinter or HP e-print? How to solve the problem?

After much research, I was unable to obtain a direct answer for two reasons: HP doesn't support Linux or Cloud Print beyond initial setup. I was not very satisfied with this answer as I knew you would not really be either so I found some links and this may be the last I can provide any assistance here due to the two reasons above. Otherwise, if ePrint is not working within the apps using a Windows-based computer I am more than happy to assist you. You may continue to get support here from other community members regarding Linux but I may not be of much assistance. I can say the first place to check is www.eprintcenter.com and see what the error messages say there under the print history, cancel any pending print jobs and try again. Keep me posted on any additional information you may want to add regarding a Windows PC, otherwise I should direct you over to some great support provided by Google Cloud. Linux is suppose to work with these functions so I will leave you with this final excerpt from a Cloud Print Help site:
"Why is my document not printing?
1. Make sure your Google Cloud Print connector is running on a computer with Mac, Windows, or Linux.
2. If you're using Windows XP, make sure you also have the Windows XP Service Pack 3 (SP3) installed.
3. Confirm that the computer connected to your printer is powered on and that you are logged in."
This printer should support this feature so to make sure, you can log into www.eprintcenter.com and select ePrint Settings under the customized email address on this page and ensure you have Print Services ON. I wish I could be of more assistance however. I strongly recommend contacting the manufacturer of the apps you are having the problem with as these functions work when you use them like ePrint was intended (via email and mobile devices). Open single page e-mailed pdf in another app.

I like to e-mail .pdfs to myself for opening in other apps, such as FileApp where I keep relevant documents for reference, or GoodNotes, where I may do a mark up on them. This works fine for multi-page pdfs, but where I e-mail a single page pdf, it just shows up in the e-mail, instead of as an attachment that can be opened in another app. Does anyone know how to solve this problem?

Same problem here. TAP and HOLD does not show the option to OPen Wth... Another App.
Could you please confirm you don't have this problem?
Just email yourself a one-page PDF file with text in it, and see if you can open it in another app such as iBooks.

IOS/Android client - Open document from another app

Hi,
Is it possible to call the SAP Mobile Documents client for Android and/or iOS directly opening some specific document?
I would like to know if I can integrate Agentry Work Manager with Mobile Documents, so the goal is to have some kind of link for each Work Order document in the Agentry client, and when user taps on it, open the related document already synched and stored in the Mobile Documents client (it should work offline).
Is this possible?

Hi,
SAP Mobile Documents can connect to many backends (CMIS compliants ones, ABAP backend etc..)
Each documents in the backend through SAP Mobile Documents can be accessed by unique URL.
These URLs are described here: URLs for App-to-App Integration of SAP Mobile Documents - SAP Mobile Documents - SAP Library
You have to simply fire these URL from your app and SAP Mobile Documents Mobile Apps will highlight or open it for your based on your type of URL.

Using tables from another app

Hi
I have little experience developing multi-app systems.
In this specific case, I have a table that has a FK for a table in another app.
My first question is: if I export the referencing app, and import it in another repository that hasn't the referenced app, what happens? The import fails? Should I import the referenced app first?
My 2nd question: since the two apps will correspond to different database schemas, how am I supposed to generate the DB? Specifically how to generate that FK that points to a table in another schema...
