Pdf hyperlinks in google result in an empty dialog box

Dialog box "Adobe Acrobat" as its title, a blue question mark is in the upper lefthand corner and the "OK" button in the lower righthand corner. There is no other information within the dialog box itself. FF 3.6.8v

I should have mentioned that I had to run the Repair option already because McAfee decided that something within Acrobat
v9 was a risk. I believe using the right-click Convert-to-PDF option indicated the security was set to high. The only way to "fix" this was to run the repair option so Yes, I have already run this.
The convert-to-pdf option has always in the past (If I choose the correct settings) was to create a PDF in the same folder I was right-clicking a file to convert. If you like having to save a file to a location everytime you convert an office document to PDF, that is your choice not mine.

What I am trying to to is to create a workflow that opens mail and displays iCal TO DO's that I have created throughout the day tagged with the word MAIL so they can be filtered.
At the moment the ACTIONS are:
Launch Mail
Get New Mail
Find TO DOs in iCal (Who's SUMMERY includes MAIL)
I get iCal To Do's as a result
But then...I can find no options to display the iCal Events that result.
Putting in the Applescript you posted displays a blank dialog box. This tells me that there is no text in the result.
Yet if I put a SPEAK TEXT in after find TO DOs it dutifully speaks my filtered TO DO's
I thought I might just try a NEW MAIL MESSAGE action.
This works great in the workflow. The content of the new mail is the filtered TO DOs.
But if I save it as an application (the form I need it in), mail simply opens blank when it reached that part of the work flow.
What would you recommend?

Bug:Downloading pdf file from the web,file name in dialog box populates with incorrect file name

Hi Gurus
When downloading any pdf file from the web using adobe Reader X the file name dialog box populates with incorrect file name
compared to the saved file name of the document downloaded.
Clarity
1. Download any pdf file from the web
2. Click File, Save as note the populated File Name
3. Compare the populated file name with the saved file name of the documant yuo are downloading.
4. The file Name is incorrect...
Is there any work around on this issue?Can someone please help?..

I've tried a couple of other versions and still get the same results...

Are you downloading the file (right-click, save link as), or just opening it by clicking it?
If the latter, then what happens is the file is loaded to the temporary internet files folder by IE and assigned a temporary name, which is then used when you're trying to save it.
You can test this out by going to File - Document Properties before trying to save and looking at the file's location.

I am experiencing the same issue. I upgraded my OS to Mavericks, I've downloaded the free trial of CC and am trying to download Muse, but the CC window is just blank with a spinning wheel. I've restarted, I've uninstalled and re-installed, but nothing. And am having a really hard time finding support on their website. This forum seems to be the only place to get 'live' support. (?) perhaps I'm missing something.

Reader 9, blank dialog box, can't open PDF from web

I have a newly custom built computer running XP Pro (Quad-core with 3g of ram). I have a fresh install of Reader 9 and Firefox 3.0.1. When trying to open a PDF shipping label from USPS.com, Reader opens and an empty dialog box appears with only the OK button. When I click OK, Reader closes. I cannot print my shipping labels. Please help.

Same problem here. It took me a while, but I got it to work.
Changing on how the content type would be handled did it for me.

I needed to change the entry for 'PDF Document'. I set it to the top option. Doing this and testing it right away yielded in a crash. After restarting firefox the problems were gone.

My guess is that the Adobe reader couldn't handle the fact that firefox hadn't downloaded the document yet, but was still trying to get it to open.

I am trying to prepare a booklet for print. After selecting Print Booklet option, the Adobe pdf option is no longer in my Print Dialog Box. I need to send this file to a printer so it must be formated as the pdf. Why am I not seeing Adobe PDF as an option in my Dialog Box?

Hyperlink Dialog box in a list being cut off

So the image is what I'm seeing when I try to edit a cell in the URL column. The left is being cutoff and the cutoff line, while it may not be that clear from the pic, is in fact the left side of the browser window. It doesn't matter what browser you use
or what zoom level the page is set to. It is cutoff all the time.
It appears to be a bug in Sharepoint but I don't know how to report it or what I could do to fix it.

According to your description, my understanding is that when you edit a hyperlink column in quick edit model, its Dialog box is cut off.
But by my test, the hyperlink Dialog box in quick edit is working fine:
Is there any custom style for your page layout? If so, please verify its "overflow" property.

Font size in Google results page is suddenly enormous

I have an older PowerPC G4 running Mac OS X 10.4.11 and Safari 4.1.3.
Yesterday, without changing or adding nothing at all, font size in the Google results page suddenly became huge. It looks terrible. This does not affect the main Google page, or the tools column to the left, or any other web sites. Just the Google results column. But since I'm a heavy user, I don't want to be exposed to hugely oversize text several times an hour, day in and day out.
Google preferences are correctly set -font size in this particular page remains normal in my other, newer machines. My standard font size in Safari preferences is 10 pt, but the the Google results column displays in at least 13 pt.
I have searched high and low for an explanation or a fix, and come up empty-handed. Has anyone else seen this, or know of a way to control font size in the Google results page/column?

What you are describing seeing is what I am seeing with 4.1.3 Safari here.
(Resisting an urge to gaslight the issue here. )
You might remove all Google cookies and see if there are any Google plist files that may be causing the problem.

Hyperlinks in google chrome

i have a pdf document that is uploaded to web. I have several hyperlinks opening word and pdf documents within that pdf document. IE and Mozilla work fine in resolving the relative hyperlinks when uploading to web. Google chrome will not open the hyperlinks and when I look at the hyperlink in the chrome browser, it is saying it is off the c drive rather than off the website url. Does anyone know why google chrome is not resolving the relative hyperlinkss?

The Adobe Reader plugin will not be supported by Chrome. The Chromium team has decided to remove support for NPAPI plugins like Adobe Reader. Here's a blog post that describes their decision - Chromium Blog: The Final Countdown for NPAPI
On Windows, it is still possible to change the Chrome default PDF viewing behavior by configuring plugins (chrome://plugins). Please refer the KB: Configure browser to use the Adobe PDF plug-in
So, you will be able to view PDF files on Google Chrome, however some of the pdf functionality link buttons or hyperlinks won't work. It will be working fine with other web browsers.

How do I create an Event Handler for an Execute SQL Task in SSIS if its result set is empty

So the precedence on my entire package executing is based on my first SELECT of my Table and an updatable column. If that SELECT results in an empty result set, how do I create an Event Handler to handle an empty result set?
A Newbie to SSIS.
I appreciate your review and am hopeful for a reply.

Depends upon what you want to do in the eventhandler. this is what you can do
Store the result set from the Select to a user variable.
Pass this user variable to a Script task.
In the Script task do whatever you want to do including failing the package this can be done by failing the script task, which in turns fails the package. something like
Dts.TaskResult = Dts.Results.Failure

Pdf hyperlink and CF

I am developing a coldfusion web application that contains a
page displaying a pdf created in Autocad. The pdf contains a
building's layout and a hyperlink has been created in each of the
rooms containing the room number.
The question is - how can I get CF to:-
1) Detect the user clicking on the hyperlink in the pdf
2) Pick up the room number contained in the hyperlink
3) Prepend the correct forwarding page information in front
of the room number
4) Get CF to then navigate to that page (in the same window)
I do not want to hard code the full URL into the pdf
hyperlink as the system may move servers etc in the future.

I think the problem might be that PDF's are opened locally
from the client so there is no context to resolve a relative URL.
Suggestion:
Dedicate a domain name to the location of your .cfm page and
hard code that URL into the PDF hyperlinks. If the system changes
servers, just remap the domain in the DNS to point to the new
location.

.pdf hyperlinks in word open in Internet Explorer instead of Firefox

I have website addresses copied and pasted into a word document, which automatically makes them a hyperlink. Normal website addresses open fine in firefox (which is my default browser) when I Ctrl+click on them. Web links to a .pdf, however, open Internet Explorer and then open in Adobe Acrobat inside Internet Explorer. How can I get .pdf links to open in Firefox when I Ctrl+click on them?

I have the same problem (roughly) - I have PDF hyperlinks in an Excel spreadsheet and, when clicked, instead of them opening directly in Acrobat (or via Firefox, my default browser), they open via IE. Regular HTML links in the Excel spreadsheet open in Firefox.
I have enabled the '''Block PDF files' access to all web sites''' option under ''Trust Manager'' category in the Adobe Reader ''Preferences'' tab.
I have also disabled the '''Adobe PDF Link Helper''' Extension in the ''Manage Add-ons'' tab in IE.
Obviously, neither of these settings made any difference.
* Windows XP Pro SP3

* Internet Explorer 8.0
