Pdf javascript in mobile pdf reader

Hello all,
I have embadded some javascript in my pdf and the javascript works in PC adobe reader. I find that the javascript does not work android adobe reader, can i ask how can I preview the pdf open in android adobe reader or I can write some javscript for android adobe reader?
for example, in PC, the javascript is this.closeDoc();
what is the javascript in android adobe reader?
Many Thanks
Sunny

With Adobe Mobile Reader some JavaScript is supported but not all.
So testing if very important to determine if your script will work or not.
Also you need to be aware that not all apps on mobile devices support JavaScript so again testing by individual app is needed to determine if your script will work or not.

  • Shouldn't a PDF reader on mobile devices by Adobe be the best?

I would have thought that of all the apps on mobile devices that can read and display PDF documents a PDF Reader by Adobe would be the best one out there. Instead it seems little better than average. It is still the best one I have found but... As I have looked through the list of discussions on this forum it looks like many topics have gone unanswered. And those that have been answered only a few responses are given. What is going on with the development?
Tagged PDF documents work okay on my Samsung Galaxy tab but I want to be able to do more with PDF documents than just open and read them.
Use bookmarks to navigate easily through a document
Use hyperlinks to navigate easily through a document
When I'm prepareing to teach a lesson I typically add notes in the margins and highlight text in the hard copy of the lesson manual. I would like to do the same in the PDF version of the manual.
One small advantage of a PDF document over epub is when when I tell someone or someone tells me to go to a certain page in book or manual or lesson book to follow along nothing work better than a PDF.
I was told recently that folks in another country use an iOS or Android device to view our PDFs more so than desktop units. So where is the development going with Adobe Reader for Android for example? At the rate technology changes these days it doesn't seem like anything is really moving forward.

This new version is much better. Thanks to the everyone working on the best PDF reader out there. So far as I have tested it on my Galaxy Tab it works fine except for one freeze up. I even installed it on my wife's iPad and she seems to be impressed. This is a big and for me long awaited improvement. Thanks Dov for giveing my patience level a boost. Now I just have to play around with it some more and see what needs to be tweeked and added.

  • Upgrading your PDF reader for iPad

I am trying to open a PDF form from a company website, but it is telling me that I need the latest version of PDF viewer. I have the latest update for my PDF Reader app, but still I cannot open the form. How can I get the latest PDF app viewer?

    Hi,
When you open the PDF form, do you see a message like this?
Please wait... If this message is not eventually replaced by the proper contents of the document, your PDF viewer may not be able to display this type of document. You can upgrade to the latest version of Adobe Reader for Windows®, Mac, or Linux® by visiting  http://www.adobe.com/go/reader_download.
Your PDF form is a special type of form called a "dynamic XFA form". The message is displayed when a dynamic content is not supported by a PDF viewer.
Currently, Adobe Reader mobile products (for iOS, Android, Windows Phone) do not support static or dynamic XFA forms that are created with Adobe LiveCycle Designer.  Upgrading Adobe Reader for iOS will not resolve the lack of support for XFA forms.
Please use the desktop version of Adobe Reader on a Mac or Windows computer to open and fill out the XFA form.  Sorry for the inconvenience.

  • Adobe Reader won't DL - need a pdf reader [Lumia 7...

So I have a slight problem with Lumia 710. After I figured out how to get a .pdf file onto my device (did so via Skydrive) - it suggested that I DL a pdf reader and directed me to Adobe Reader.
However, once I get to that page, I get:
    "App not available
This might be because your phone software needs to be updated,
the app is exclusive to a different mobile provider,
or the app is not available in your region."
Right off the bat we can rule out "the app is exclusive to a different mobile provider". I have a friend with the same provider, with the same phone, who downloaded it with no problem.
"The app is not available in your region" - my friend, the one with Adobe reader, has had his on either Icelandic or U.S., in the region settings. I tried both, no luck.
"The phone software needs to be updated" - I don't know about this, I think I recall it saying "no updates available" earlier today on Zune, but I might be mistaken.
    Any advice?

Was thinking of removing my windows live account and re-adding it, to see if that is what needed to be done for the phone to look at my updated location (the US). However, I found out that in order to change my primary windows live account (even if it's to the same account) I would need to perform a hard reset, which is something I'm a little unhappy about - seeing as I don't even have a guarantee for that working.
I'm going to take a bit of a break from this, but do you think this would be worth a try?

  • Default PDF reader

    Hello
I have an N97 Mini, bought SIM free. I use it as a mobile office.
    Two problems:
I have installed a freeware PDF reader, and the trial version of Adobe Acrobat (now expired) came with the phone (I think - it may have installed when I bought a license for Quickoffice). I have set the freeware PDF reader as the default (Settings>Phone>Application Settings>Default apps.>Options>Advanced Options>) but it resets back to the trial Adobe app. I want the Freeware PDF reader to stick as the default reader.
Also, I'd like to remove the Adobe Acrobat trial, but I can't find a way todo this.
    Suggestions, please!
    Thanks.

You can't remove any of the 'trial' stuff it's embedded
As for default pdf reader, the only workarround I know is to save a pdf file, then open the pdf reader and select file from there !
    Good Luck

  • Cant install Adobe pdf reader le 2.5 for C6-01

I am not happy with the adobe pdf reader le built in app because it is not so effective for viewing pdf files. So I just want to upgrade to adobe pdf reader le 2.5. But before buying the app I just want to check whether it suits my needs. So I downloaded a trial version from quickoffice.com and tried installing. I got "update error" message. So thinking the already installed version is creating problems, I uninstalled the pdf reads from my Phone and then again tried installing the downloaded le 2.5 version. This time I got " Unable to install. Install base pack first" message. What exactly is the meaning? How shall I install this app. ?

  • Nokia N90 - PDF Reader?

    Hi all,
I needed a PDF reader so I installed the Adobe Reader avaliable on the Nokia website. But the resolution is too low, so it's really annoying to read any pdf file on my N90.
And the thing is, I know my screen is capable of much more (I know that from browsing sites with Opera mobile). It's just that the native resolution of Adobe Reader for Symbian v2 is too low.
Is there any way to change it? Or alternatives to Adobe Reader (even non-free) to get my PDF files read properly?
    Thanks.
P.S. - Is it possible to get SymbianOS v3 running on a Nokia N90?

  • PDF reading/parsing

In my application I have to extract some text from pdf file
(i.e. title and authors from the title page). Is it workable to do
so? I thought about using JavaScript features of Acrobat Reader, am
I going the right direction? - unfortunately I have little
    knowledge regarding this matter.

    Hi,
Using the javascript features of acrobat reader would be the
way to go. AIR can talk to the javascript in the PDF file.

  • How do I display the web address within Adobe PDF Reader 10 & IE 9 64-bit?

Until a week ago, I was using IE 9 32-bit version together with Adobe PDF Reader 10.    When I would try to open a PDF file from within the browser, it would and the Web Address would continue to display at the top of the window while browing the PDF document.  I could then continue using IE 9 and move on to other pages and etc...
Now, I have swtiched to using the IE 9 64-bit version.  What happens now is that when I enter an address in the web browser and it's a direct link to a PDF file  example:   https://www.technicalindicatorindex.com/newsletter/bpdf/TII_Newsletter_1686a_10.11.11_7055 475115.pdf   ), it opens up with no problems, but I no longer see the IE 9 Web Address shown anywhere.  So in essence, that page becomes a Adobe PDF program window and I loose my IE 9 access.   I guess the PDF files are no longer displayed within the browser (althought I have it check ON).
    Am I missing something?

I did write there, but no replies
I guess that with Adobe Reader 10.1.1 running with IE 9.x in x64 bit mode, you cannot open the PDF within explorer, as it does it outside it as a separate Window?
    Correct?

    Hi
I've a big problem with adobe acrobat reader XI pro and I hope you can help me.
The problem is; when I past copied text from some pdf books (not all of them) it past symbols only! wherever I past it! and even if I coped that text from another pdf reader (adobe pdf reader, internet browsers, ...etc.).
This problem started to happen since yesterday when I installed adobe acrobat reader XI pro to try it before I buy it, and before that when I was using the free adobe pdf reader I was totally able to copy any text from any pdf and past it anywhere with nothing wrong.
    What can I do?
    thank you a lot.

There is no product called Adobe Acrobat Reader Pro. There is
    - Adobe Acrobat Pro ($$)
    - Adobe Reader (free)
Which do you have? And are you a programmer?

  • Issue while opening pdf reader on mac

    Hi,
Please see enclosed image here. Whenever, Adobe pdf reader is open this window comes up on the screen.
I have installed latest version of Pdf reader (11.0.09) on latest version of Mavericks (10.9.5) on MBP.
    Thanks
    Chirag

Odd?!  That appears to be a window of sorts.  It has two buttons on the end.  Are you able to close or expand the window by pushing one of them ??  It also appears to have a window expand handle on the lower right corner.  Try dragging the handle to expand the window size and see what is there being displayed in the window.

  • E70 PDF Reader : Unable to open. File type not sup...

This morning I have bought an E70, among others due to its highscreen resolution and the possibility to run a PDF reader on it.
    I have now tried ...
      - the pre-installed Adobe PDF Reader
      - the Adobe PDF Reader supplied with the PC Suite CD-ROM
      - the Adobe PDF Reader available on europe.nokia.com
I am fascinated by a software which presents itself in the About box as '1.5', prompts during installation for '1.0.5' and has filenames '1_5_0'.
Apart from minor variations in the SIS filenames they all share the same annoying feature: They refuse to display any of my PDF files but display a message 'Unable to open. File type not supported. 5. !' instead.
It doesn't seem to be a problem of the PDF files, since a collegue of mine was able to open them on his E61 or E70 (forgot to ask).
Any idea what this problem could be caused by?

I am speechless -- but happy.
The complaint about the file type only appears if you try to open a PDF stored in the phone memory but not if you try to open a PDF stored on the memory card.
    Problem solved.
