Hi,
AL11 tries to open that file for reading and it fails for some reason. Maybe SAP does not have enough authorization to read file. Check file permissions on OS level.

This morning I have bought an E70, among others due to its highscreen resolution and the possibility to run a PDF reader on it.
I have now tried ...
  - the pre-installed Adobe PDF Reader
  - the Adobe PDF Reader supplied with the PC Suite CD-ROM
  - the Adobe PDF Reader available on europe.nokia.com
I am fascinated by a software which presents itself in the About box as '1.5', prompts during installation for '1.0.5' and has filenames '1_5_0'.
Apart from minor variations in the SIS filenames they all share the same annoying feature: They refuse to display any of my PDF files but display a message 'Unable to open. File type not supported. 5. !' instead.
It doesn't seem to be a problem of the PDF files, since a collegue of mine was able to open them on his E61 or E70 (forgot to ask).
Any idea what this problem could be caused by?

I am speechless -- but happy.
The complaint about the file type only appears if you try to open a PDF stored in the phone memory but not if you try to open a PDF stored on the memory card.

Unable to open encrypted files moved from PC to Mac

I am running Acrobat Pro XI on a PC (Windows version 8.1) and Have Acrobat Pro XI (Mac version) on a new MacBook Pro Retina 13". I am able to "transfer" files from the PC to the Mac via Dropbox. However, only the unencrypted files will open on the Mac.
As soon as I use a password to encrypt the file on the PC (i.e. Password merely for opening the .pdf file) and then trf via Dropbox to the Mac, it (the Mac) returns the message ... "The password is incorrect. Please make sure that the Caps Lock is not on by mistake and try again."... I have tried repeatedly , checking Caps Lock/Password etc. The password is correct and works fine on the PC. I have even tried re-installing Acrobat on the Mac but this has made no difference.
Assistance will be greatly appreciated.

Ok, that still leaves two questions
- What version of Acrobat or Reader is in use on each system?
- Did you use any special character in the password?
To that I would add
- Do you use a hyphen in the password?

Unable to display jpg file

Hi,
I really hope someone can help.
I have transferred a file from my laptop (which I have done many times before) to my Blackberry Curve 9360 but when I try to open the file, it says "unable to view filename.jpg". I have transferred the file via bluetooth, via connecting phone and laptop by lead, and also tried to email file to phone and opening the email and saving the file. None of these allows me to view the file.
This is very frustrating. I have rebooted the phone but no difference.
Please help!!!

Can you view other JPG files?
There are so many different "flavors" of jpg files, it's hard to say what is wrong with that ONE file.

So this is follow up from my debarkle with the EDD. I found out my problem with copying files from Mac to EDD and vice versa was a result of a not so good EDD ( i had an apollo hard drive from imation) that was not very compatible with macs. So i did my research and found out that the best hard drives were Western Digital and Seagate. I bought the newest western digital EDD 1TB and formated it to FAT32 and guess what...no problems so far. The only problem is that FAT32 format doesn't copy files larger than about 4 gigs so i couldnt copy a movie from my brothers computer onto my EDD that was 1080p. You could probably resolve that by partitioning a small part of your hard drive in ExFAT? but yeah, hopefully that helped guys.

Unable to display a PDF image on the page - Mac 10.6

Hi,
Running an iMac with 10.6.8 and Indesign 5.0.4. Just wanting to export a PDF as per usual via File > Export function. However, I keep getting the error message, "Unable to display a PDF image on the page'. No idea what this is and have never seen this error before. The only info on the internet reveals error code 0x2511(9489).
I've deleted prefs, closed down and re-opened Indesign and even restarted the computer. I've also re-linked the images contained in the document and even created a new document and set it up the same, but still the same problem. Investigating further, other Indesign documents still export properly.
The only ones that don't export are 2 documents, both giving this same error message. Both documents are ones where a client has sent a PDF, I've imported into two of these into an 2-page A4 Indesign document (each PDF is 48MB each) and then just added a text layer (using Times) which is properly installed on the computer. I basically have to 'update' course dates for the client and add PDF to the website, all very basic.
I've tried importing a jpeg and other PDFs into the file (replacing the existing ones) and they export fine.
All my software is legal and I've exported this document before now in exactly the same File > Export without any problems (under 10.5 and 10.6).
OK... I've just imported the offending PDFs into Acrobat, optimized and shrunk the file size, re-imported back to Indesign and the PDF export works fine. So it seems InDesign / PDF Export doesn't like large imported PDFs? I think they were originally exported from Publisher, so maybe that's the problem or a file conflict somehow.
Any ideas on the culprit? I've googled it, searched these forums and Apple discussions and haven't found anything. Although I've found a workaround, I do get large files to import and then export. Thanks for any help

It does sound like a problem with the original PDF files the client sent you. You can check how they were made in Acrobat Pro from the Additional MetaData button on the Description tab of the document properties dialog. It will be under Advanced at the bottom of the list when the metadata opens.
You might be able to salvage them by running the optimzer and not changing the size, or just doing a Save As in Acrobat.

Using Memory Card - Unable to display file

I have an 8130 with v 4.3.0.97 software. I installeed and formatted a 2GB Sandisk Micro SD. Media Card settings are as follows:
Media Card Support: ON
Encryption Mode: NONE
Mass Storage Mode Support: ON
Auto Enable Mass Storage Mode When Connected: YES
Using both Windows Explorer and TDM I have transferred music, pics and files onto the card. The music plays fine. I can see the pics. But everytime I click on a Word doc to open it I get this message: Unable to display file/media card/Blackberry/filename.doc
What am I doing wrong?

Gotta have a third party app to open those docs. I downloaded Mobipocket Reader to my PC, the program recognized an downloaded a reader to the BB. I imported the Word docs and can now read them on the BB. Yayee!

Opening internet linked encrypted files and printing pdf documents

I can't open an encrypted file that requires an link to a remote server, the system says the computer does not have an internet connection, but it does. I also can't print a page from a non-encrypted pdf file which I can open and display. The printer doesn't respond, yet it works with everything else. I've uninstalled and reinstalled Adobe Reader 11.0.10 twice and also installed it again and replaced with Adobe READER 10.1.4. Neither of these changes make any difference. I've also disconnected the fire wall but to no avail. I now have the following Adobe programmes installed :- Adobe X 10.1.4, AIR, Flash Player 10 plugin, Flash Player 16 ActiveX. Can anybody help? Do I also need to install Adobe Acrobat and if so is there a free version?

Maybe that method does not use Adobe Reader, but your operating system's print function?

I am using a cascaded mapping in my OM. I have a graphical mapping followed by the Java mapping. It is a flat file to IDOC mapping. Everything works fine in Dev but when I transport the same objects to QA, the Operation mapping though it doesn't fail in ESR testing tool, gives the following message and there is no output generated for the same payload which is successfully tested in DEV. and it worked for me:
1. Quit Word
2. In the Finder's menu bar, select Go > Go to folder and type or paste: ~/Library/Preferences/
3. Click on Go
4. Locate the preference file com.microsoft.Word.plist, then Option-drag it to the desktop to create a backup copy
5. Go to Applications/Utilities and open Terminal
6. Paste the following bold command at the $ prompt (it's a single line):
defaults write com.microsoft.Word 14\\Toolbars\\Show_HIToolbar -boolean TRUE
7. Press Return and then quit with Command Q
8. Start Word and test. If the fix works, trash the backup file in the Desktop file. Otherwise, restore it.
In the original source the author also mentions the change in Word 2008

10g AS Unable to Display PDF

I have 10g AS R2 (10.1.2) installed without WebCache. I have a situation where a requested adobe pdf document does not display, instead I just get a blank browser window. This occurs in IE6 and Firefox so it is browser independent. Also, I can reproduce this on many client machines. So it seems that this is independent of the adobe reader install too. There was a time when this worked on this server. In another 10g application server environment with the same codebase this works. There are some config differences between the two application servers environments though, it uses webcache. Ultimately though this worked at one time in the problem environment but stopped working over time. So you know, the requested pdf is created dynamically on the server and sent back to the browser.
In addition to all of that info, the problem AS sends the pdf as content-type of "text/plain", which seems to be the main issue. Where the AS that works sends the pdf as "application/pdf". Below are the two HTTP headers, the first header does not work and the second does not work. Again, the code base is identical although the application server environments are different configurations, where the environment that is broken used to work ok.

In addition, here is a header that does not work with webcaching. The header above that does not work does not go through the webcache as I believed. None the less though, the pdf is sent as "text/plain" in this environment.

Actually, I'd like to use fixed layout so I use com.apple.ibooks.display-options.xml.
This ePub file looks good because I can open it with my iPad - iBooks, however iTunes publisher always rejects this.
Any solutions ?

I was getting that error when I used OSX's default compress feature. I found a little utility called ePub Zip and used it to compress (zip) my ePubs and that did the trick. They then passed the validation. I got it here:
