PDF made in Acrobat, Buttons not working right in Reader

I made a PDF presentation for a client and he is using a PC to view it. When I open it on my MAC using Preview the buttons work, it goes to whatever page I clicked on. He opened it on his PC using Reader and the buttons don't work. I also tried to view it in Reader on my MAC and they don't work either, only in Preview.
This is how I made the buttons:
Under Tools, I clicked on Interative Objects. Then Add Button. Then, Mouse Up, Go To Page View, then I added the page for each button.
Then when I save it as a PDF, I need to shrink down the file size, so I did : Save as PDF Optimizer, I didn't change much on the default for the settings. The Discard Objects Settings I only left the "Discard all alternate images" button checked.
The client sent me a sample of one that works and one that doesn't work. I opened them in Acrobat and I have buttons just like the one that works but I don't know if my saving settings are correct.

I've never used Acrobat before, just photoshop, illistrator, indesign and dreamweaver so I'm sure I'm missing something, I appreciate any help anyone can give me . I also hope I'm clear in my descrition of the problem. Thank you!

By the way, do not ever save an interactive PDF with Preview and distribute it. Only work with the document within Acrobat. Preview causes all sorts of corruption. If you did save with Preview, don't bother trying to edit it in Acrobat and instead start from scratch if you don't have a copy as it was before it was saved with Preview.

Tool Button Not Working in Adobe Reader 9

Hello,
I have a custom tool button - folder level script (with a trusted function) to digitally sign a drawing template.
The tool button works in Reader 8 and Reader X, but is not working in Reader 9.
The error message is shown "Not Allowed Error: Security settings prevent access to this property or method".
Can any one please advise why this would not work in Reader 9 when the tool buttons work in other versions of Adobe Reader?

Adobe changes JS with every major release, check the Acrobat JS API Reference to see what has changed with regard to your code.
Without seeing your code, there is no way tell what is going on. Also check the preferences to see if there is an option that needs to be checked to allow your script to work.
Since Reader X works and it is free, why not upgrade?

Home page button not working right on my iPad 2

Does anyone has problems with the home page button?

Hi everyone,
I also had the same problem like less than a month after I purchased my iPad 2. I used to think that it was due to the iOS update to 4.3.x, as I got mine out of the box with the version prior to that, and didn't have problems before I updated.
However, it could also be that the home button pad had accummulated oil/dirt from our thumbs, which get in the way of it working properly.
Here's what I did:
1. Turned off my iPad2.
2. Wet my thumb with alcohol (not too wet, say a drop or two), and pressed down on the home button and rubbed the alcohol in in a circular motion. The idea is to let the alcohol break down the oil and dirt.
3. Wiped the home button thoroughly with a clean cloth (i dont recommend tissue or cotton as it might leave residue that could again 'clog' the inside perimeter of the home button.
Before I did that, my home button was responding in around 1 click out of 20-30 tries. After cleaning, the home button now responds in 9 out of 10 presses.
Let us know if you try and find that this works for you as well.

buttons): bracelets, earrings and necklaces.
I have different states for them in the up, over, down and
hit states - they change colors, change from non-bold to bold etc.
and in the "enable simple buttons" mode when i'm editing the
site they work great, but when i publish and even publish preview
they don't work anymore.

It looks to me like the only portion of the actual button is
just a few
letters in the words. The "l" in "bracelets" and the "kl" in
"necklaces".
It is a good practice not to convert straight text to a
button but rather to
put a rectangular box behind the text within the button with
the alpha set
to 0% in the Color Mixer. This way when a user hovers or
clicks in any
space where the rectangle is, the button works. If you only
use text, the
user must click precisely on the fill of the letter.

Animated Flash Buttons Not Working Right

I'm updating my website and my menu buttons have an animation on the mouseOver. A simple animated button with the "Up", "Over", "Down" and "Hit" keyframes.
www.brenda-nies.com will show the effect of my menu buttons and the effect I want to keep. Part of my updates are switching to AS3 and that's where my problem comes in. You can't see it on the website I gave you, but in my working file, when I test it (in IE8), everything starts out fine when I first rollover my button, the animation runs through it's cycle and stops. However, if I press down on the mouse button, the animation starts over. The same when I release the mouse button, the animation starts over. I want the animation to run through 1 cycle and stop, then stay stopped until I roll off the button.
Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong....or not doing?

I appreciate you help, you helped me on another question before as well. However, for this particular question, I'm am already doing what your saying, at least I think I am.
I've attached a screenshot below of what I currently have. The first layer, is all text, so...the "About Me". The second layer is my animation. That blue and black bar is actually hidden behind that grayed out "black and wood" area. That blue and black bar is also the "Button_Bar" layer in my timeline. When I rollover "About Me", that blue bar rises up and the edges fade. That all works fine and dandy. However (and I'm sorry if I'm repeating), let's say I want to go to the "About Me" section. When I click "Down" the mouse button, the animation starts over - the blue bar disappears for a split second and rises up from behind that aforementioned area. The same when I release the mouse button - the bar disappears for a split second and rises up. And I have to mention that not once did I roll off my button, yet the animation replayed with each mouse event.
I thought maybe it was my file so I did a test and started fresh with a brand new document. Same thing is happening. I don't have any script, except for the stop script in my movie clip. Should I be using some kind of script?
As for the movie clip, I created it using a shape tween. I also don't want anything in the "Up" state.

Dynamic pdf created in adobe 8 not working in Adobe reader 9

Hi ,
I designed dynamic pdf using Adobe 8 livecylce.
I am able to generate the dynamic pdf with values filled in from the database in Adobe 8 reader,standard and professional versions.
I recently installed Adobe 9 reader and when I try to generate the dynamic pdf , the pdf if generated but the values of the fields comes as null.
Is dynamic pdfs created in 8 not compatable with adobe 9 reader? Do I need to redesign the documents in 9 again ?
Please let me know, I designed a lot of pdf documents using 8 livecycle under the assumption that it is going to work in future versions.

Hi,
I figured our there was a setting to enable/disable Javascript which caused this issue.
I was using javascript in the LC 8 for manipulations in the dynamic pdfs.
I enabled the javascript and now it is working fine.

So far we're just trying to narrow the problem down, so it looks like it's not likely an OS problem, not impossible but not too awful likely.
Do you have another Mouse to try?
Can you try this Mouse on another Computer?
In System Preferences>Mouse & Keyboard, you might try changing the Primary Button to the Right one to see if the Right Button works as a
Left button, +but the problem+ with that is that I really don't know what you'd do *if you have no Button at all* then!

Home button in ipad not working right :(

My home button is not working right, sometimes I try to exit an application and won't take me to home screen. :( any suggestions?

I have had the same problem. Sometimes it works, but most of the time it doesn't. The 4 finger swipe feature in iOS 5 helped, before that I had to constantly restart to get back to the home screen. I have been wondering if it is a hardware issue, because sometimes it works if I tap lightly in just the right spot-usually upper left cornner. If you find out solutions, please let me know. Converting WordPerfect to PDF with desktop printer tool: Not working

I have been a monthly subscriber to Adobe CreatePDF for many years! I work mainly with Correl WordPerfect, but with the change to the Pack version it is not supported. I downloaded the desktop printer tool; it is installed. However, when I follow instructions and print, I get nothing. Where does the PDF go? What can I do? Please help! I cannot continue to pay monthly if I don't get service.

(A). If your system is Win 7 SP1 then install a hot fix to correct inetpp.dll version at C:\Windows\System32 folder.After installing the hot fix version will be 6.1.7601.21819 from 6.1.7601.17514.
Note please uninstall CreatePDF Desktop printer then reinstall after applying the hot fix
(B). If you have not installed Adobe Postscript driver yet then please install one as below:
How to Install PS printer:

Buttons not working in the upgraded (ERP 2005) PM BSP

Hi...
We have recently upgraded our system from ERP2004 to ERP2005. We have made the SAPU re-conciliation. When we tested our entire BSP in portal, some of the buttons that used to work before upgrade are not working right now. Some of them are:
    1. the CREATE button that allows us to create performance plans/appraisals is not working in employee login (ESS)
    2. Start Evaluation button that changes the appraisal from Inreview to Inprocess status is also not working.
         When I did a code compare, the upgraded version of HRHAP_DOCUMENT_CHANGE_STATUS has got a new function module called HRHAP_0DOC_DET_NEW_STATUS which is used to Determine New Status depending on BUTTON_ID. But in the old version this is not there, instead a perform does the same function. Does this help?
Can anyone tell me why these are not working? Any information that you could provide will be really useful.

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
See [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]] and [[Troubleshooting plugins]]
If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all your extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.
You can use "Disable all add-ons" on the [[Safe mode]] start window to disable all extensions.
You have to close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")

Currently, Adobe Reader for Android does not provide an option to disable auto-save.
In the Reader home screen (where your files are displayed), you can make a copy of the original PDF document, open the copy (instead of opening the original document), make changes to the copy. Once you email the copy, you can delete it.
For more information, please see Help > How To... > Copy, edit, delete, manage.
Although it is not the most convenient way to accomplish the task, that's the only feasible workaround that is available in Adobe Reader for Android right now.

Central button Not working ..... now ? 5 buttons not working !!! What can i do?

I bought my blackberry torch in September 2011 and two months ago the center button was problem (bellow the screen) and not working at all. so I gave it to a company to fix it and told me to round 45 euros to fix it. also told me that it will be ready in the new year because they would have holiday. The man there made a report saying the problem with the center button (only had this problem, I note) and now they brought me back and told me they can not fix it and they send it to blackberry but even they could not fix it. Enable my phone front of them and did not operate any button of 5 bellow the screen (two to the right of the center button that had problems and two to the left). I told them to send it back to the technician because when I gave to you to fix it only one button was not working and now none of the 5.
After nearly two months they brought me back and told me ''we can not do anything ....'' So,five buttons not working.
What can I do in this case????
Not got it from there yet to see what I can do or what can I say?
I think I'm right. It is reasonable to I want my phone back with only one button broken as I gave it to them and not with extra 4 buttons not work.

A battery pull does nothing to improve the performance of the battery, it clears your phone's cache of unwanted fragments that have accumulated and this improves the performance of your phone. I doubt it's as simple as this but it wouldn't be the first time I've heard of a service centre charging money for repairs when a simple battery pull would have done the trick.
When you get your phone back (working properly or not), I suggest trying a battery pull.
