PDF Maker/Outlook 2007 crashing issue

When using Adobe PDF maker in outlook 2007 it often crashes. Is there a maximum PDF portfolio size that you can archive emails into? It seems once my file hits a certain size I need to begin a new file for the process to run? How can I fix this?

There are some known issues with Acrobat X and Outlook. These issues are as follows (taken from the Known issues documentation):
If Outlook is online with Exchange (cached Exchange Mode OFF), then PDFMaker can only convert 249 mails through selection. All the mails after that are skipped with Status "Unable to open secured message."
You can open messages in Outlook in the same session where PDFMaker conversion through selection had failed.
Folder conversion works fine. PDFMaker successfully converts 10000 mails in an online folder on exchange server.
Tested for Outlook 2007, Outlook 2003, and Outlook XP. Same behavior irrespective of outlook version.
PDFMaker should be able to convert up to 1000 mails through selection with Cached Exchange Mode OFF. [1662502]

    Hi sguendjian,
Acrobat 7 is a very old software and we do not recommended using it along with the latest Adobe Reader 11.
It seems to me that the default pdf handler on your computer might be messed up.
If you have Reader Installed, go to the 'Edit' menu, select 'Preferences' > Select ' General' on the left side and on the Right pane at the bottom, click on 'Select Default PDF Handler'
Select Adobe Reader 11 from the list and Apply.
Now all the pdf's on the computer will be opened by Reader.

  • Acrobat Pro XI - "Failed to Export" when exporting Shared Mailbox Folders to PDF in Outlook 2007 - any solution?

When trying to export a Shared Mailbox folder in Outlook 2007 to PDF, messages are failing consistently.
We are using the latest and greatest Adobe Acrobat XI.
It will export a little bit of the folder and then fail the rest of the items.
There are approximately 929 items in the folder, and about 237 exported before the failures started happening.
    Any advice would be great!

Bill - there is a typo above. Customer is using Acrobat X, not XI.
When we tested, we upgraded the office suite to 2010 and it worked with XI. We will just have to get him both upgraded. This hopefully should resolve the issue.
I will check back in with the results.

  • Outlook 2007 crashes when using instant search

We have a problem that seems to be affecting some users.
in Outlook 2007 they have attachable mailboxes to view the sent items of that mailbox. When they go to the sent items and try to search for an e-mail by subject or address or key word etc it crashes Outlook.
    Things I have tried:
removing and re adding the attachable mailbox
    recreating the users profile
    reinstalling office 2007
    indexing the attachable mailbox
    none have worked.
the OS is Windows XP SP3 using Outlook 2007 and MS Exchange 2003
any help would be most appreciated.

  • Outlook 2007 export issue to Outlook 2011 MAC

I am trying to import my email inbox from Windows Outlook 2007 to Mac Outlook 2011.  When trying to create the PST file I get an error message "message interface has returned
an unknown error."  So how do I remedy this so that I can export from PC to Mac?

    Hi Lex,
From the description, you got the error message "message interface has returned an unknown error." when exporting Outlook data to a PST file, correct?
Based on my research, this issue may happen if one of the following two conditions is true:
There is some internal problem with Microsoft Outlook messaging interface.
There is corruption in PST file.
If it's due to Microsoft Outlook messaging interface, this issue should be fixed after restarting Outlook. If it is caused by Outlook PST file corruption, we can try using the Inbox Repair Tool (Scanpst.exe) to scan and repair your PST file. By default,
we can find the Scanpst.exe tool under:
For Outlook 2007 on a 32-bit version of Windows:
    <disk drive>:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office12
For Outlook 2007 on a 64-bit version of Windows:
    <disk drive>:\Program Files(x86)\Microsoft Office\Office12
    For more information, see: https://support.microsoft.com/kb/272227
In addition, if your PST file is too large and exceed the maximum size limit, it may also cause PST file corruption. In Outlook 2007, the PST file size limit is 20 GB. Please make sure your PST file doesn't exceed the limit.

  • Adobe Reader X and searching within PDFs in Outlook 2007

    Hello,
Is it possible to search within pdfs attached to emails in Outlook 2007 via the search box in Outlook?  I currently have Adobe Acrobat Reader X installed and Outlook 2007.  Is there an iFilter available for this functionality within Reader X or would I need to either go back to Reader 9 or upgrade to a newer version to have this capability?
    Thanks.

This may help a few of you here.
    I'm running IE 8 and Adobe Reader X on a WIN64Bit  system.
Reader X wouldn't open an embedded  PDF with IE8 64BIT. AR X seems to like an older version of IE.
Go to your START menu and you should see "Internet Explorer" and "Internet Explore (64-bit)".
Open a window with the "Internet Explorer", not the (64-bit).
In the IE8 window you'll see a "?" on the tool bar. Open it and click on "About Internet Explorer".
You should NOT SEE "64-bit Edition".
If you don't see "64-Bit Edition", go and try to view the PDF again.
It works for me and it seems I'll have to live with it until there's a patch for 64-Bit.

  • ICloud Outlook 2007 Windows Issues

I installed iCloud on my PC with Outlook 2007. I now have an iCloud Contacts folder and my old (now empty) Contacts folder. Is there a way to combine both or (safely) remove the old one?  When someone emails me a new contact, it goes into the old Contacts file, not iCloud. I think the same thing happens with Calendar notices received on my PC. The only way I can get things into the correct iClouds folder is to accept them on my idevices.

I had the same issue with the calendar. An e-mailed invitation saved to my otherwise empty old calendar folder and not to the iCloud calendar. I had to open both calendars side by side and drag new entry over to the iCloud calendar.
I was expecting the iCloud Outlook interface to be just like mobile me, which Apple eventually got to sync properly with Outlook.  Now I have regressed to this mess.
I have another Outlook 7 issue: after I have closed the Outlook application, when I re-open it the iCloud contacts and tasks folders are empty! Refreshing iCloud does not help.  They eventually return, sometimes only after opening and closing Outlook several times. Is anyone else having this problem?

  • Outlook 2007 Sync Issues with Calendar and Contacts

I have an original iPhone and since the last iTunes update I can no longer sync my Contacts and Calendar in Outlook 2007 with my iPhone. The separate calendars are no longer showing in iTunes as a sync option only the sync all is available. When I plug in my iPhone to sync it will set in the syncing status for one to two hours and has not finished syncing since this update. I have reinstalled Outlook 2007, I uninstalled and re-installed iTunes, I have reset the sync history and any other fixes I have been able to find on the discussion boards. Does anyone know of a resolution to this problem?

I'm having similar problems with both yahoo and google on both my and my wife's Pre 2s. Yahoo calendar sync seemed to be working fine a few weeks ago but now absolutely refuses to do anything on my wife's phone (won't even seem to delete the account properly) and only shows a few things on mine. I've tried with different accounts, removing them, deleting the permissions on the yahoo website, the aeroplane mode trick, and restarting the phone. But the same problem. Phone just says it's syncing for long periods of time but then shows nothing for it. I must have removed and added accounts about 30 times in the last 2 weeks.
Google not syncing back from phone to cloud at all.
This is pretty annoying - I had better functionality on my old treo 650!
    Anyone have any answers?

  • Outlook 2007 syncing issues. Time not correct.

I setup a reoccuring appointment on my iPhone for every saturday 8:00PM to 9:00PM through August. When I synced through iTunes, the appointment appeared in Outlook through August, but set to 4:00pm to 5:00pm. Four hours off. I added another test event in Outlook from 8:00pm to 9:00pm and then synced back to the iphone, it showed up as 12:00am to 1:00am.
Both are set to EST (the iPhone set to Boston, USA)...
    Any ideas?

I had a similar experience when I saw several older meetings that were previously setup in Outlook 2007, that had originated from an Exchange server.
These meetings did not appear correctly on my Palm Treo 680, which is what I have upgraded from (to iPhone). These Exchange-originated meetings never synced properly to my Treo 680 - always came over many hours off of the correct meeting time, though on the correct day.
When I first synced Outlook '07 to my new iPhone the meeting on the iPhone was wrong as well. However, I then modified the meeting on the iPhone and re-synced and (unlike the Treo 680) the meeting is now correct in both places.
So, I am happy with iPhone.
I am holding my breath however for my next business trip to another time zone. For some reason Palm could not get this to work correctly on the Treo.

  • ICloud + Outlook 2007 sync issues..........

iCloud: Mail server settings for email clients
While synchronizing folders for *name*@me.com (or @icloud.com), outlook 2007 could not connect to the server…. I have checked all icloud mailserver settings several times and have also reinstalled the icloud control panel twice…
Reason why this is frustrating me is is because I use the calendar sync function with my iOS devices…. At this moment my iCloud calendars are not being synced anymore.
The settings I have tried are from this page http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4864. But i have tried a couple of other settings of that as well…
Also the icloud refresh button is gone. I checked whether the addin is disabled. It was, so I enabled it but still no synchronization……
I'm about to throw the **** thing out of the window and switch to android….nah just kidding
I really Hope you guys have the solution for me. I need to have this fixed!
    Thanks!
    Niels

    How strange is this!!!
I tried this today several times (at work). It did not work, time after time. now im at home, the setup runs fine and settings are making the whole thing work after all.
Maybe it has something to do with VPN and Firewalls at work....
Thanks for your suggestion, however i already knew I did work!
    Thanks!

  • Outlook 2007 , calendar issues with creating meetings  - any ideas?

    Hi All
My boss has a Mac and has installed office 2007. Configured Outlook to connect to our office exchange, all ok.
Now, to book meetings we use the resources field when added someone. This is not visble in the mac version of office.
Now, also a issues he has seen which I have witnessed, that if he creates a meeting via his Windows machine in outlook, as soon as he opens Outlook on his mac, all meetings become unbooked. They are still there, just all marked as provisional and hence what happens, he goes to the meeting, to only find the room booekd out to someone else as its only marked as provsional.
Any ideas, anyone else seen this?
    Cheers
    Scott

Since this is software issue with Outlook, and not one related to Macs or Mac OS, you should probably post your question on an Outlook forums:

  • VZN BB 8830 & MS Outlook 2007 Sync Issue

syncing works very well with 1 exception; any prior from current date meetings are deleted from the BB and are also deleted from Outllook.  I want to retain a complete history of all meetings on MS Outlook.  I can't determine what is causing the sync to remove the meetings from Outlook also.  It is ok to remove meetings from BB but not BB.
I am not deleting the meetings on BB.  They are being removed because the date is prior to current date.

I have VZN 8830 but use MS Outlook 2003.  I had a similar problem when I would sync with Outlook, I would lose ALL Outlook calendar info older than two months, even though I selected "use Outlook" as an option somewhere..  I posted on the other forums, but with no luck.  I did stumble across a fix that worked for me, keeping all of my Outlook calendar items in tact.  Here's what I did:  Using the BB Desktop Manager, I connected to the BB, selected "synchronize", selected "configuration" and made sure "mailbox wins" under "synchronize moves and deletes". I went back to the Synchronize tab, selected reconcile messages,  sync organizer data, and update device date and time.  I then selected the sync now button.  the first sync really has the BB take precedence, with a 60 day or so calendar retention limit on the 8830.  So it would wipe out all calendar items older than 60 days on outlook, which sucked.  I found if I select the "resync now" button, it takes another look at it, and puts all of the Outlook data on the BB.  Of course, the next day anything older than 60 days disappeared, but on my BB, not on my Outlook.  I have to to this every time I sync, but i don't lose the Outlook data.  I haven't found a need for calendar items older than 60 days on the 8830, so i did not care if it went away.
You might try the resync, paying attention to the messages on the numbers of records that will go from the BB to Outlook or the other way.  I've been told there is an option to retain all calendar data in the BB, which would (in theory), eliminate the need for the resync, but I cannot find it on mine.
    Good luck.

  • Exporting pdf from outlook 2007 wit adobe 9.2 standard

Suddenly we are unable to complete an export of a mail folder that has about 250 emails in it.  This worked fine last week.  The process gets to the point where it is indicating that it is creating an index for faster searching and then sits there.  It sat there for a little over an hour and appeared to make no progress.
So far I have seen no error messages.
We have tried different groups of email with the same result.
    What could be the problem?
    Thanks in advance
    Dwayne

With AA9.2, you can either update from the help menu in Acrobat (typically the fastest since these are cummulative) or go to http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=1&platform=Windows. The link that was provided before is only if you have 9.4 or so. Most of these updates have to be installed in order. You should be able to wait until the last one is completed before you reboot.
