Pdf Margins

Hi,
I am trying to use BIP to print 1099 forms. The generated output has a big upper margin which causes the address line not to appear in the envelope window.
I cropped the margin in the pdf template but was of no use. In an rtf template we could goto page setup and set the page margins . Can somebody tell me how to control page margins in a pdf template
thanks
Shri

There is a note on metalink (409204.1). They ask us to crop the final output and print. But this solution is difficult to implement as we print a lot of forms.

  • Converting Word To pdf - margin errors

I am trying to create a portrait pdf file from Word with a custom page size (11X8.5), but when I do this I get a message that the printable area is outside the margins of the form. I have been told by Tech Support that they were able to create a portrait pdf file from Word with the custom dimensions (11X8.5)which will import correctly into their software. Any idea why they don't get the outside the margins error when they create the pdf file from Word? Could our template be causing a problem?
    Thanks for the help!!

Do you have the printer set to the Adobe PDF printer during the document editing? If not, try changing the printer and check your document. Also check all of the borders to be sure they are consistent. You may simply be running into a reflow problem with WORD.

  • InDesign to PDF margins

I have created a document in InDesign, and exported to a PDF. Everytime (except once - and I can't figure out what I did) I print it gives me margins where I don't want them. I'm printing a booklet and don't need margins on the saddle stitched edge. I've set my gutters to zero and even removed all the margins in the InDesign document to no avail. Thanks for any insight on this.

I fail to see the issue. You have added crop marks, have you not? For all intents and purposes those are marks that are supposed to be visible and printable for cutting in the real world. If you don't want them, don't use them. Acrobat can generate them on the fly for printing, anyway.

  • How to change PDF margins?

Is it possible to change the margins of a PDF document? How? Thanks.

I have tried to increase the margins, yet does not seem to work.
I have selected "Tools" and clicked on "Crop". Then double click the document and selected a "Change Page Sizes - Fixes Sizes - Page Sizes - A4". Then selected "Center" and then on XOffset and YOffset included 1 or 2 inches and clicked OK.
Yet the document shows the same margins as before. Am I doing something wrong? Thanks.

  • Export to PDF - margins and font size

Using Crystal XI I programmatically perform an export to PDF.  The PDF appears to have larger margins around the document and a smaller font size of text when compared to printing the same report to the printer or PDF distiller.  The application is distributed to client workstations.  Is there anything that can be done to resolve the issue?  Thanks

You may need to check the Font's.  Even though you may be sending  ( and I am just making this up )  Times New Roman 12,  the PDF may be using Times New Roman 10.
Anyway, the export to PDF does not support all the fonts that you can use in CR.... Or at least it does not appear to.

  • Crystal Report exported as PDF in BO 4.1 SP03 is creating Margins

Our users began complaining this past weekend (6/29/2014) that our Crystal Reports that are formatted to fit to letter head page size in
PDF format are seeing their columns truncated because Adobe is imposing a 1/4 margin on the top and sides of their reports, causing dollar values to truncate a digit at the front or back of their numbers -- NOT a good thing.  We have been up on SP03 for several months, but just started seeing this change recently.  We also just recently upgraded to CR2011 SP09 a few weeks ago.
Are there new settings that we can tweak to remove the PDF margins on the server?  Anyone have any ideas?  We will try any idea, no matter how far-fetched as it may seem.
    Thanks,
BO Admin in the Dark, losing numbers on reports.

I solved this problem by setting in the report Design -> Page Setup - [X] No Printer - [X] Dissociate Formatting Page Size and Printer Paper Size

  • How to Remove Margins after Convert to PDF

    Hi yall,
I converted my document to PDF. The PDF displays fine full bleed without margins. However when I print the pdf, margins appear! What is the best way to remove them?
    Thank you!

Margins are white space between the edge of the page and the text. To say you don't want the margins to appear suggests that you want text (or whatever your page is made up from) to print up to the edge of the page. I doubt that's what you want, so a clearer explanation is needed. And don't forget the version number this time.

  • Creating PDF from ERD (Data Modeler) in readable format

I created an entity relationship diagram (ERD) using Toad Data Modeler.  I want to save/print it to PDF, which I can just fine.  However, it cuts off tables and is very hard to read.  I'm looking for a format to use that will not cut off the tables.  I've played around with various settings, but can't get it to look right.  Are there specific settings I should be targeting so it won't cut off the diagram?  Thank you!

Thank you.  I've been playing around with the page size, but it still wants to cut off some of my tables, almost as if I can't get the diagram to size into the size of the PDF margins.  I can't seem to find the magic combination so I figured I must be missing a parameter setting somewhere.  Thank you for your time.

  • PDF Printing and CSS Media Style Sheets in OS X -- CSS @page ignored

I'd like to author an XHTML document and specify precisely how it should be printed to pdf (margins/headers/footers/page breaks/etc.) using the CSS Media Style Sheet capability, i.e, CSS's @page rule.
Apparently, Microsoft IE7 supports these page rules (http://blogs.msdn.com/ie/archive/2005/06/10/428149.aspx), but these do not yet appear to be supported in OS X's "Print to PDF" function (http://css-discuss.incutio.com/?page=PrintStylesheets).
Is this true? Does anyone know how to access these CSS printing capabilities on a Mac?
Furthermore, does anyone know how to get "Print to PDF" to maintain HTML hyperlinks in the PDF file?
E.g., using OS X+Firefox, the following @page rule is ignored by the "Print to PDF" function on my Mac.
    <style type="text/css">

  • Margin Issue(pdf) in migrating 6i report to 10g

    Hi,
After I migrated the report from 6i to 10g, I found the report printing issue comes out. Every report printing is not same as 6i, move the data to left and top about half cm. I searched this forum, I got clue was i can add reports_add_hwmargin into registry, then I can add printer margin into the report. I found it works when i run the reprot from 10g builder. But when I generated it into pdf format through IDS then print out, the problem is still there. How can add printer margin into report with pdf format?
    My environment is
    app server 10g
    report 10g,
    windows xp
    Thanks in advance.

    Try a Compile All ( Ctrl - K ), then Ctrl - T.
Not sure about XP, but in Vista, the 10g Builder and batch compiler will crash if a PLL Library is not available when the form is compiled.
Make sure the PLL Library is available, and all its objects compile in the 10g setup.
If that does not help, then try a semicolon-to-semicolon replace all, then save the fmb. Then restart the Forms Builder, and open the fmb again, and try compiling.
Here is an old link describing the issue:

  • Report margin on export to PDF

    Hi,
I am using SQL Server 2008, Project Server and Report Builder 3.0 and have just inherited an issue.
    I have two reports:
D_Subreport: This report contains all logic and detail
    D_Report: A report referencing D_Subreport as a Subreport
In one of our SharePoint project sites we run the D_Report, this has a dropdown parameter which allows multi selection. This works as expected - the report displays in the browser with no margins as per the designed report, on export to PDF it has a margin
set, I'm not sure where this is set(?), but it looks good to us.
The problem, when running the D_Subreport from another Project site (no multi select as it runs under the context of the project site) the reports displays as expected in the browser, however on export to PDF there are
NO margins. It seems as though having a containing parent report creates margins within the PDF, running Subreport directly does not.
How do I get it to display using the same margins as D_Report?
    Thanks

    Thanks.
My problem was that one report had margins and the other didn't - Plus it turns out a Subreport's margins are ignored by the parent report. I had to create a duplicate report in our scenario.

  • Print PDF Directly to Printer - Margins cut off

    Hello,
I am using an application called PeopleSoft, and we generate out report files in PDF format.
If I direct the output file directly to the printer then the right and bottom margins are cutting off the document text.
Whereas, if I direct the printer out put to a network drive, then open the PDF in an PDF reader of Acrobate, then print the file it works fine.
Can anyone explain to me why this is so, and if there is a way to change the margins, when sending the output to the printer. To ensure the entire document is printed.
    Thanks in advance,
    Matt.

    Yes, same PDF file.
I run a batch process that generates the report output file, I can choose to direct the output directly to a network printer, or save it to a network drive.
If I choose to direct the output run to the printer then the right margins and bottom margin is cutting off the text of the actual report file.
However, if I direct the output to be saved to the network drive, then open it using Adobe Reader, then print it, the entire report document fits easily within the margins and no text is being cut-off.
I lack the technical knowledge to explain how/why this is happening.

  • I'm using Acrobat Pro 11. When printing an email to PDF most of the time it cuts off the text on the right margin. Setting look OK and I've moved things around on the email, but that doesn't seem to make any difference. Is there an Adobe setting I'm missi

Like I said above, print to Adobe pdf and it wants to cut off the text on the right margin. I can't see to find a setting that changes this. Any ideas??

OK, so I have now found that this is apparently normal for iTunes, to only accept mpeg 4 movie files, all the searching I did before I must have worded it wrong because I couldn't find anything about this, incredibly. Had been looking for why iTunes won't take all the files it previously did, like if it had been changed, and it hasn't, it's allegedly always taken only mpeg 4 files. Also I had been searching for why iTunes crashes every time I try and add/import anything but mpeg 4 files, and even sometimes with mpeg 4 files. That isn't normal, it's supposed to just do nothing apparently as I've just found out. So for these reasons I didn't find the answer despite my searching all over the web.
So I guess that answers my own question now, but I'm still perplexed as to why I absolutely, definitely, without any doubt, had several hundred movies of a few different video file types loaded, accessible and playable in my iTunes library that everything here claims iTunes never accepted. It apparently shouldn't have been possible for me to have done this, but for probably 10 years it's been this way.
Perhaps since I don't remember adding these files to iTunes anymore recently than maybe 6 or 7 years ago, the iTunes back then did accept all kinds of file types? Or could I have somehow had some video codecs or software that expanded the capability of my movie players like Quicktime Player that unwittingly also allowed iTunes to take those files as well? All I know is somehow it worked! So now my question is how did I have it working before, so that maybe I can make it work again.
