PDF not really loading in Firefox

Hi,
I have created a PDF using the Adobe PDF printer.
When opening it from the disk, it shows every page immediately without any problems.
However, when accessed with Firefox directly, the pages do not load correctly, it takes ages for a page to show up and when I scroll around or zoom in and out, it starts loading again.
(But it seems that it does load the 35 completely before it shows anything.)
This is the link:
http://goo.gl/LA017
How can I fix this?
Thank you

And its not very good. You can go in to Preferences (or whatever preferences are called on a PC). Applications > PDFs and set to use the viewer, Acrobat, Reader, or a Plugin  the people at would be better served working with adobe to fix the issue with PDF Viewer Plugin of PC and Mac. Instead of going out on their on.

Why does Spry Horizontal Menu cause site not to load using Firefox and Maverick OSX 10.9.2?

    Your code is terribly malformed.
There are multiple body tags & erroneous tags that overlap your <head> and other content tags. Get those fixed first.
And you also have more than 1 doctype definition in the wrong place.
If my assumption is correct, I think each include file you're using has its own doctype, body, html & head definitions causing final PHP to render all these on your output page.
Run your site through W3 validator like Jon suggested earlier: [Invalid] Markup Validation of http://www.ambppct.org/ - W3C Markup Validator
Fix those and you should be good.

  • PDF not rendering right in firefox

I have a PDF file I created on my website and noticed that in FF it is not rendering the images correctly (specifically the background image) The file renders fine in IE and Chrome but not in FF, which produces a lot of odd lines in some images and the background. I have had several people check this for me and they have the same problem, the PDF will just not show correctly in Firefox, even one person that tried it, FF will not show any pictures for her on the PDF. Did not know where to post this, as it is not really a question but an observation.
    Shy

I am sure this is helpful for those that are computer savvy like myself, but most readers of my PDF newsletter on my site are not. So it will not help them much, heck I spent 10 mins. in chat last night explaining to them what a URL is, most still did not understand. I will pass the info on anyway just in case, telling them this is only a problem if they are a FF user, or that they can use IE or Chrome if they like so it renders correctly.
    Thank you
    <blockquote>
    Hey Shyannes,
It is rendering differently because IE uses the Adobe reader plugin to display PDF's and Chrome uses a custom PDF viewer. Firefox also has a custom PDF viewer (different than both IE & Chrome).
Firefox users can view the PDF using Adobe reader by following these steps:
#Click on the Download button (the one to the right of the print button).
    # Change it from Save file to Open with: '''Adobe Reader'''
    #Click OK.
    Hope that helps.

  • Pandora will not finish loading in firefox though it works fine in chrome

I've been using Firefox for several years and Pandora has played without problems. For the last week or so I've been unable to load Pandora. The screen says Pandora and the spinning wheel spins until I get a message telling me "it is taking longer than expected to fetch the next song ..." . I've tried the troubleshooting suggestions of Pandora and of Firefox. I deleted cookies, cache and history. Finally I reset Firefox . I still get the same message. The strange thing is Pandora works just fine on the Chrome browser on the same computer. Please help if you can. Thanks

Yeah, if is saying true, then JS is enabled.
    Give this a shot:
'''Try Firefox Safe Mode''' to see if the problem goes away. [[Troubleshoot Firefox issues using Safe Mode|Firefox Safe Mode]] is a troubleshooting mode that temporarily turns off hardware acceleration, resets some settings, and disables add-ons (extensions and themes).
If Firefox is open, you can restart in Firefox Safe Mode from the Help menu:
*In Firefox 29.0 and above, click the menu button [[Image:New Fx Menu]], click Help [[Image:Help-29]] and select ''Restart with Add-ons Disabled''.
*In previous Firefox versions, click on the Firefox button at the top left of the Firefox window and click on ''Help'' (or click on ''Help'' in the Menu bar, if you don't have a Firefox button) then click on ''Restart with Add-ons Disabled''.
If Firefox is not running, you can start Firefox in Safe Mode as follows:
    * On Windows: Hold the '''Shift''' key when you open the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
When the Firefox Safe Mode window appears, select "Start in Safe Mode".<br>
    [[Image:Safe Mode Fx 15 - Win]]
'''''If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode''''', your problem is probably caused by an extension, theme, or hardware acceleration. Please follow the steps in the [[Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems]] article to find the cause.
''To exit Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before opening Firefox for normal use again.''

  • Why can I not successfully load a Firefox Plug in

    Hi,
Despite several attempts, I still cannot load the required FF plugin to view a radio station content?
I have uninstalled my virus software to tyr and re-started my machine, but it still wont load/take? The station plug ins for IE and Chrome work fien, but nit foir Firefox?

    Hi jscher,
Not exactly what "error" is showing up is "a plug in is required to display this content", this (image below), comes up when Firefox tries to connect to this specific website?
I looked at the link you included, but if this will fix the issue, can you detail '''exactly''' what should be typed in the "location bar", just typing in what this advises with nothing else, just says website not found?

  • Indesign CS5 Interactive PDF not really an Interactive PDF?

I have created an online Interactive SWF file using Indesign for a corporate Newsletter and it works fine.
However, when asked if I could produce a PDF version I thought "sure, just convert it to an Interactive PDF!"
I was shocked to find that it does not work and that basically I had to rip the whole thing apart and rebuild it to make it a PDF, as creating hyperlinks instead of button actions to me is not an Interative PDF, which is all it seems to infer.
All of the Object States had to be dismantled and placed on seperate pages.
None of the Buttons created to go to different pages worked anymore, I had to remove the button states from the objects and convert them using Hyperlinks and Hyperlink Destinations, a lot of work.
Surely, since Adobe own Indesign and also own Acrobat it would be possible to convert an Indesign Project to PDF and have the buttons work correctly?
Also, none of the animations work, these had to be scrapped.
Any plans for a future release to rectify this and the reduce workflow?

If you spent any time looking at these features you would have seen that they are clearly SWF only.
The workaround for this is to export the SWF and place it in a PDF.

  • Images from my blog is not properly loading in firefox

    Hi All,
Whenever I am opening my blog in firefox my blog images are opening properly but when I am trying same with Google chrome, it is working properly.
First I thought its because of firefox version but after update it is still happening.
    FYI:
This happening for other website too.
    My blog is http://www.thetechtweet.com/
    any help would be great

    Looks fine here.
If images are missing then check that you do not block images from some domains.
*Tap the Alt key or press F10 to show the Menu Bar
Check the permissions for the domain in the currently selected tab in "Tools > Page Info > Permissions"
Check "Tools > Page Info > Media" for blocked images
*Select the first image link and use the cursor Down key to scroll through the list.
*If an image in the list is grayed and "<i>Block Images from...</i>" has a checkmark then remove this checkmark to unblock images from this domain.
Make sure that you do not block (third-party) images, the <b>permissions.default.image</b> pref on the <b>about:config</b> page should be 1.
Make sure that you haven't enabled a High Contrast theme in the Windows/Mac Accessibility settings.
Make sure that you allow pages to choose their own colors.
*Edit > Preferences > Content : Fonts & Colors > Colors : [X] "Allow pages to choose their own colors, instead of my selections above"
Note that these settings affect background images.
    See also:
There are extensions like Adblock Plus (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) and security software (firewall, anti-virus) that can block images and other content.

  • Flex does not auto load in Firefox and Opera but works in IE

I am using the following wrapper for deploying my Flex application. It works fine when the files are local but when the files are deployed on the server, IE works fine but I only see a blank screen in firefox and opera. However if I right click and click play the application runs fine. I don't understand what I need to do to make the Flex application autorun in Firefox and Opera as it works on IE (on server and local) and all browsers (when local).
I would be grateful for any help. I am wantonly including flashVars in both the object and embed tags to get it to be read in all browsers. The problem seems to be play="true" does not seems to be honored in Firefox and Opera when the flash in on a server but works when it is local. I have also tried accessing the flash directly without a HTML wrapper but the same problem happens only in firefox and opera but works in IE.

I found the cause of the problem. The server was compressing the swf file to reduce bandwidth and setting Content-Encoding: gzip. This means that Firefox and Opera receive the file but you have to right and click play to play the file or do a refresh. The solution is to change the server settings not to compress swf files. However I cannot understand why it should work in IE but not firefox or opera.

  • Firefox reset completely, attempted to restore old Firefox data, will not open saying that profile could not be loaded.

    Hello,
When returning to my computer, I attempted to open Firefox and received a prompt to either start Firefox in safe mode or reset it. I tried safe mode at first then proceeded to reset it as well. Losing all of my add-ons/extensions/etc, I tried to solve the problem by restoring my profile with a folder that appeared on my desktop titled "Old Firefox Data". After following instructions to restore my profile, a window now pops up saying that my profile could not be loaded and Firefox just does not open at all. Is there anyway to recover my old profile? I tried following another suggested method but when searing for my profile through the files, it could not be found.
    Thank you!

  • Fash Images will not load with Firefox

Currently Flash images will not auto load with Firefox on my mac 10.4. All flash images show with an arrow I must click to make them appear every time I visit a page.
I do have the most updated version of Flash (10.2.152.33). I have checked their site for all troubleshooting possibilities as well as the FF forum & nothing has made these images auto load. I do have load Images automatically in my Preferences: Content. This is only happening with Firefox & not all browsers.
I do remember having to add some Security: Install Add-On Exceptions a few updates back in FF back when I had this problem. Adding them fixed the problem, however the next update made the issue reoccur. I've looked for additional exceptions & possibilities to include & found nothing. My current list of add on exceptions include: addons.mozilla.org, getpersonas.com, & update.mozilla.org. Removing these does not fix the problem & re-entering them does not fix the problem. All flash images still show as arrows that must be clicked to load to view for my Firefox browser only. This does not occur in any other browser.

alright. I've found that Firefox has a Flashblock setting & I have found a way to disable it if I customize & add an icon to my toolbar however I would like to learn how to change that setting without having to add that icon. Where in the settings does it allow me to change/adjust the flashblock?

  • PDF addresses not longer load and display PDF in Firefox and solutions suggest to other users with problem DON'T WORK (work fine in Chrome and Safari)

This is an ongoing problem with other users. When putting a PDF in address window of Firefox and clicking go to address FIREFOX WILL NOT LOAD AND DISPLAY THE PDF. This problem has come up in questions from other users on your site. NONE OF THE SUGGESTED SOLUTIONS WORK! (trying either the Firefox PDF viewer or the Acrobat viewer as default viewer)
I am using Firefox 23.0.1 (as some of the other users with the same problem). This was not a problem in the past with Firefox. Safari and Chrome continue load and display PDFs just fine from their addresses. This is a big problem as I now have to inform people who want to view my PDFs NOT TO USE FIREFOX BUT TO USE SAFARI OR CHROME.

It appears that a link to a PDF on an internet page will not download in Firefox either!
    I went to this page:
    http://www.nasa.gov/connect/ebooks/earth_art_detail.html#.UjYEzrwsU08
and tried to download the PDF link at the bottom of the page (Download: PDF 11.3 MB) It didn't work! Nothing happens. Tried it in Safari and it worked flawlessly.
I have a PDF file of my work in the public_html folder on my URL. I give the address generated by that file to people who want to view my work---this works perfectly in Safari and Chrome. As to your other question, can't bookmark it if I can't get to it in Firefox.

  • PDFs do not load in Firefox, they do when I'm in Safari. If I'm on a website and I click on a pdf link, nothing happens. It has happened from multiple sites.

PDF files do not load in Firefox. I click on a link for a PDF and nothing comes up. It happens at every website. I've been using Safari because PDFs open up there just fine. I have all the updated plug-ins, etc. and checked to make sure everything on Firefox was updated. I'm on a MacBook Pro, 10.7.3. I've never had this problem before.

I am having the same issue - also on a macbook pro, also turning to Safari. I just get a blank page - no download initiates, nothing happens.

  • Security error while loading pdf file in jsp in firefox?

When i type in the following link manually in firefox as " file://///172.16.2.1/copyediting/ELS/mallet.pdf", pdf file is loaded successfully in the firefox browser. PDF file is located in remote server which is referred by IP 172.16.2.1.
I've assigned the Same link in a String in jsp page and tested it through my tomcat application as
    <%
    String linktotest="file://///172.16.2.1/copyediting/ELS/mallet.pdf";
    %>
    <a href="<%=linktotest%>">link</a>
when i click on the hyperlink , the pdf is not loaded in firefox and i'm getting the following error in firefox error console
Security Error: Content at http://172.16.3.222:8080/FMS/source/journal/ProductionEntry.jsp may not load or link to file://///172.16.2.1/copyediting/ELS/mallet.pdf
can any one please give me the solution.

Links and forms in HTML should point to public URL´s (with http:// or https:// protocol), not to the file system (with file://).
If those files are not public accessible by URL, then you need to create a servlet which does the file streaming task. This example may be useful then: [http://balusc.blogspot.com/2007/07/fileservlet.html].

  • Java plugin not loading in Firefox 4.0b11, works fine in 3.6.13

Java plugin isn't loading in Firefox 4.0b11, but it works fine in 3.6.13 (and in Google Chrome too). It worked in Firefox 4 before, but broke somewhere around beta 5. libnpjp2.so is not really in the plugins folder, but is a symlink: /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins/libnpjp2.so -> /usr/lib/jvm/ia32-java-6-sun-1.6.0.12/jre/lib/i386/libnpjp2.so. When run from the command line, I see FF trying to load the other symlinked plugins (most totem related) but failing because they are amd64, and FF is built in 32bit. But no messages about libnpjp2.so (which IS 32bit).

this method works for Firefox 4.0 b11..!! [http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/manual-plugin-install-linux-136395.html Manually install java plugin....]
