PDF Output doesn't match ROME window

Couple issues between the ROME editor and the PDF generated output.
1)  Images that are scaled in ROME editor do not scale in PDF output.  I've got huge images I've resized in ROME that appear as their original size in PDF.
2)  Drop Shadows on Text show up in ROME but not in the PDF output.
I'm on Windows 7, Adobe Air Installed verison.
Cheers,
Al

  • HDMI Audio Output doesn't work in Windows on Retina MBP

When I'm using Windows 7 (with BootCamp) on my Retina MacBook Pro, I like to connect it to my TV using the HDMI out to watch movies. However, when in Windows, it doesn't seem to output the audio to the TV. Instead, it plays through the MacBook's internal speakers. I don't know how to change it, and there doesn't seem to be in option in the Volume Controls in Windows.
Anyone have any success having both video and audio outputted to a TV in Windows 7 on their rMBP? If so, how?

Try downloading and installing bootcamp 3.1 it fixed my sound for me.

  • Getting PDF files doesn't work on Windows 7?

    Hi,
I had a working installation of Adobe Output Central v5.5 on a Windows 2000 machine. I then tried to move it to Windows 7 because we want to change the hardare.
I set up all programs to run as Windows 2000 under windows 7 (this is something you can decide with the standard functionalities of Windows 7) and all works, BUT, if I try to generate a PDF document I get the famous error [Invalid printer type (98)].
I use the -asppdf command line parameter to force PDF output and the PDF presentment target is compiled into the MDF file.
98 is the number that you can read in the "Printer Type" parameter in the pdf.ics file.
If I comment out that line in the ICS file, the PDF file is produced, but it's corrupted, so it's not readable with any PDF reader.
    Any idea?
    Manyt thanks in advance.

Have you tested an external mouse as I already suggested?
You can try to install Value Added Package for another Portege series notebook. Just search a little bit on the Toshiba website.
In worst case you have to restore factory settings (preinstalled OS). There should the mouse working properly.

  • PDF output does not match Frame TOC

My Frame TOC is accurate, the tags are correct.  My PDF output has the correct Units in place.  However, in the PDF TOC on the left nav,  the Unit 5 Lessons appear in Unit 4, the Unit 6 Lessons appear in Unit 5, Unit 6 has no Lessons, Unit 7 is correct.  I have spent a full day troubleshooting this.  Does anyone have an idea what the problem might be?

Strange things can happen thanks to the PDF setup > Bookmarks tab, though I suspect you have already checked that. I've occasionally shot myself in the foot by using two styles for level 2, for example, and not noticing that one of them had decided to sidle into the .pdf navigation as level 3 …
Counsel of despair, if you have full Acrobat, would be to adjust the bookmarks manually so you can hand over the deliverable. Hope someone will come up with a more convincing answer, though!

  • Output doesn't match what I built...

    Hey Thrillseekers....Project is HDV1080i 1440X1080
Tried sharing as a quicktime and boy did that stink up the joint.  Looked like you were watching it through a wrinkled piece of privacy glass with rain falling on it.   And my soundtrack ended a minute before the video.  Weird.
Tried sharing as a windows media file.  Looked a little better, but still pretty awful quality.  Also, there were two things thast looked pretty strange.  There were several placed where I'd zoomed in on an image, be it the background video or a still.  In the editor, it filled the frame, which I'd assumed was a Maximum of 1440X1080.  But in the output, the width seemed to have a set maximum but the height would display the entire height of the image when I'd zoomed in.  Some sections looked almost square?  Is there a way to limit the output to what I see in the editor?
There are also severl placed where I'd cropped a still and had it pan across a scene that in the output were cropped differently.  For instance, there were a series of images that when stitched together would be a 180 degree panorama.  I had them all slide across the scene in a roughly stitched together format.  The output had all the stills panning across the scene, but there was a big gap between each still that shouldn't be there.
Then I output it in flash, and it looks pretty good quality wise, but it still has the proportion issue and the cropping issue.
I've ordered Steve's book, but I'd sure like to put this thing to bed without having to wait for the book.
    Any ideas?
Windows 7 64 Bit Is the OS if htat helps.

Hey, thanks for supporting the book, Andy!
I'm just not sure I have quite enough information to help you out.
But this much I know: When you're saving as a WMV, MOV or FLV file, you're saving at a greatly reduced resolution. Possibly as low as 320x240. (I'm not sure which setting you're using, so I can't say.) That's only about 5% of the resolution of your original file, so it's no wonder it doesn't look very good.
I don't know what your goal is to output or how you plan to distribute it (computer file? BluRay disc? DVD?), but that will determine what output format to use and what resolution to set it at.
Meantime, if you want to see what a high quality MOV output looks like, try creating a custom output preset. Try 1920 x 1080 with square pixels.
As for the issues you're having with your photos, it's hard to say. I don't know what resolution your photos are, but optimizing your photo sizes definitely makes them perform better (and with less unpredictable results).
I'm not sure how your panarama turned into a bunch of individual pictures -- but I guess I'm assuming you created the panarama using PhotoMerge in Photoshop Elements and then saved it as a single JPEG. I'm not sure of another way to create a continuous panarama.
Anyway, hope that gets you started. If you can post a sample of your video and then link your response to it, we can have a look at it and maybe then offer more insight.

  • PDF file doesn't match Illustrator file...? Please help

    hi all,
We have had a very unusual situation that need your help to find out.
Description: The artwork is an outlined Illustrator file is absolutely correct as the client wanted it be. Before sending it for production, we make an PDF file of that approved artwork. Well... The pdf DID NOT match the artwork and IT SHOULD MATCH.
Some of the vector background drop out/missing, some of the transparency of vector artwork went to 100% or wrong transparency...
Software used: Adobe Illustrator CS3 version 13.0.2 / Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional version 8.1.3
Hardware: MacPro 4Gb Ram, OS X10.5.6
thanks a lot for you help,

    Thanks Laura,
This incident happened only once. I re-made another PDF using the same method and it was fine. I tried many time but I can't replicate the error/problem. The areas where was dropped out in the PDF is a solid color oval with 80% transparency, the other area is a gradient color with 100% transparency. There are similar areas like those in the document but strange enough they are not affected....
The PDF is exactly as expected on the Overprint Preview (using the very same outlined AI file, there is NO spot colors).

  • R12.1.3 - Reports 10g PDF Output not opening from SRS window

    Gurus,
Your help will be highly appreciable for the below context.
While trying to open a report output, following error occurs and won't show the PDF format correctly.
"There was an error processing a page. There was a problem reading this document(135)".
Object Type : Reports 10g with graph
Conc Program Output Type : PDF
Note: Currently issue happening only in DEV instance not in UAT/Prod instance.
    Thank You.

    Hi,
When you click View Output, press the Control key and see if you get an open/save dialog. If one is displayed, save the document and try opening it directly from the PDF reader.
If this does not resolve the issue, post a screenshot of the error.

  • SAPScript output doesn't match the variable's value

    Hello Expert,
In my script, I defined as below:
    /:  IF &VBDKR-VKORG& = 'WCAO'
    =  ,,&KOMVD-KAWRT(I11.4<)&,,&KOMVD-AWEIN&
    /:  ENDIF
Then I run the report which will trigger the script. In the debug mode, I find the values are as below
    VBDKR-VKORG: WCAO
    KOMVD-KAWRT: 97.74
    KOMVD-AWEIN: STN
In my expection, the output should be 97.7400 STN, but actuall the output displays 9.7740 STN. It's off by one decimal point conversion. This is quite confusing.
CAn any expert help on this and tell how to fix the issue?
    Thanks in advacne,

    Hello,
SAPSCRIPT isn`t able to interpret more than 2 decimal places.
I have the problem also and uses a workaround.
I have defined a text attribute in my print program, where I move the value and print the value as text

  • PDF output with conditional text

I need to create two PDFs from my project, each displaying a different conditional build expression, but I can't figure out how to do it. Selecting PDF Output doesn't show options like, for example, WebHelp does, unless I've missed something in the setup. Is this possible? My reviewers want to review hardcopies although I've tried to convince them that they should look at it as it will be displayed online.

    Hi there

  • Output does NOT match the layout in Oracle Report Developer

    Good afternoon,
I am extremely frustrated. I have been designing a report that has boilerplate text that is a list of questions and possible answers. Those choices typically are "Not Answered", "Yes","No", and "Unknown". I placed a box beside each choice and place a capital X in the appropriate box, based on the results in the database. When I run the report, the text overlays text above, the grey boxes do not show and in general, the output doesn't match the layout.
Sometimes, the questions may relate to other things and there may be as many as 10 or 12 choices. Some of those choices will be exclusive (only 1 of the 10) other times, the answer would be a "Check all that apply" type of condition.
It appears to happen when a report reaches a certain level of complexity although I can't determine just where that threshold is at.
I can't seem to paste an image here to show the layout and the results.
Has anyone else experienced this? Anyone have any idea what I can do to fix this?
I've opened an SR with Oracle Support, but don't expect a quick answser.
    Thanks,
    Don.

    DC,
EUREKA!!! It works. DC, you rock. Oracle Support is still stewing about this one. I'll update my SR to let them know. It seems a silly thing, but the "biggest" change I made was changing the 'X' from a fixed-based-font to a variable-font (was courier and I changed to Times New Roman and selected a smaller font size). Although, just for insurance, I expanded the box a tad also.
Thanks. It shouldn't be this hard, but sometimes, it is.
ps: I'm a 'DC' also, whatever that's worth...
    Don.

I have a new computer with Windows 7 professional, Office 2007, Adobe XI. I have just created a word document and tried save it as a PDF but the PDF option doesn't appear in the drop down menu. Any ideas please? Thank you.

What is "Adobe XI" - Reader, or Acrobat?
But either way, 'Save as Adobe PDF' is a Word function, independent of what Adobe software you have installed.

  • Open PDF-Output in browser window with full height

    Hi,
I must open some BIP-Reports as PDF in a browser window via URL. The problem ist, that the height of the PDF-Output is fixed, as the PDF is shown in an iframe with fixed height.
The height can be set in the BIP preferences, but only to a fixed value (not to something like "100%"). If the height is smaller than the users browser window, then there is unused space below the pdf output. If the height is greater than the users browser window, there are two scrollbars to the right: One for the html-Page and one for the PDF.
    I tried the following options:
    1. http://<bip-server:port>/xmlpserver/public/<report-name>.xdo?_xmode=4&_xf=pdf
-> Output is PDF, only the PDF is shown (_xmode=4), opens in same browser window but height is limited.
    2. http://<bip-server:port>/xmlpserver/public/<report-name>.xdo?_xmode=4&_xf=pdf&_xpt=1
-> PDF is not opend in browser window, but can be downloaded or opened in a separate PDF-Viewers window.
I would like to just open the PDF in the browser window in full height. How can I achive this?

    Hello Yesh,
you can open PDFs as a guest user (without authentification):
    1. Allow Guest Access (Admin -> Security Configuration -> Check "Allow Guest Access" and select a folder name).
    2. Copy your Report into this guest folder
    3. You can open the Report as PDF with a link like this:
    http://(bip-server-name):9704/xmlpserver/(guest-folder-name)/(report-name)/(report-name).xdo?_xpt=0&_xf=pdf&_xmode=4(&report-parameters)
Just replace the strings in brackets. You find a great description of the URL parameters in Tim Dexters Blog
    http://blogs.oracle.com/xmlpublisher/2006/07/accessing_xmlp_enterprise_repo.html
I didn't find an option to set the height of the PDF-Output for the guest user in the BIP-UI. Maybe I missed something. But you can manually edit the configuration file. It is located on your BIP server direcory in the subdirectory xmlp/XMLP/Users. Select the guest users subdirectory and edit the configuration file "user~.profile".
In this XML config file there is an entry "viewerHeight". In the Value-Tag you can enter the PDF output windows height in pixel (but unfortunaly not in % - this was the question of my original posting).
    Hope that helps...

  • PDF output in a new window.

    Hi All,
Thers an application in MVC where on clicking a button a popup comes with three options OPEN/SAVE/CANCEL .If the user clicks the OPEN button , a new window comes up with the PDF file icon in it .On clicking this PDF File icon the PDF document is opened in a new window.
Is it possibel to open the PDF document directly in a new window without giving the popup for OPEN/SAVE/CANCEL options?
I mean as soon as the user clicks the button the PDF document should open in a new window.
    Thanks in advance .

    Hi Raja,
    Many thanks for the reply.
I will go through the web logs and try out the solution.
I hope i ll make it.

  • Acrobat 11 Pro - problem with right-click "Convert to Adobe PDF" output folder

I'm migrating from one machine running Windows XP Pro with Acrobat 8 Pro to Windows 7 Pro with Acrobat 11 Pro.
On the XP machine, when I right-click on a document and select "convert to Adobe PDF" the process works just fine - it always outputs the file to the target destination I have set in the Adobe PDF printer definition.
On the Windows 7 Pro/Acrobat 11 Pro machine, the exact same settings are ignored: the PDF will always end up in the same folder as the source file.
Both the source folder and the destination folder are on one of my office's networked drives.
Under the Printing Preferences, I have the output folder address set the same on both machines, so it *should* go to the right location on the new machine.
Oddly enough, on the Acrobat 11 Pro machine, if I select Adobe PDF as the default printer and do a test print, it *does* print to the correct folder!
    This has got me stumped!
    Thoughts?
(update from later in the day)
If Adobe PDF is selected as the default printer, I *can* select a bunch of documents, right-click, select "print", and Word will open up, and they'll print to the correct target folder.
So, it's "just" the right-click "Convert to Adobe PDF" that doesn't work correctly.

The reinstall is typically the last ditch effort to do. The first step is Help>Repair and Help>Updates. As far as Office 2013, the PDF Maker of AA X is not compatible and you can only print. In your list of errors it showed a problem with AcroTray.exe. As a first step, go to the print and select print-to-file. The file will be a PS file (maybe with a PRN extension). Once the printer if finished, open the file in Distiller to complete the process. If that is successful, then the problem is with AcroTray. Check your running tasks to be sure AcroTray is indeed running. If not, that is likely the problem. If it is, then restart it (it is located in the Acrobat folder). AcroTray provides the interface between the PS creation and Distiller to automate the process of creating the PDF.

  • Poor quality PDF output

    Hi,
I have noticed that the PDF output when using Rome on Windows is quite poor and is far inferior to an outputted PDF from a Mac.
When you use a drop shadow on a piece of text it is displayed in low quality (even if the high quality option is selected on the filter).  This is not the case if you generate an interactive PDF on a PC where the text is smooth and crisp with a beautiful drop shadow.

    Hi Mike,
What version of CRJava runtimes are you using?
We have recently released a new version of the ruintimes, try upgrading to 12.0.18. download here.
