Pdf page id link on mobile devices

Hi,
I created a link to a specific page in a PDF doc using the #pageid=... which works great on browsers but it doesn't work for mobile devices. Is there anyway to make the page id works on a mobile device like how it is on the browser (bringing users to a specific page in the pdf upon clicking)?
Thanks for your help in advance.
A.

Are you using Reader on the mobile devices? At any rate, it's quite likely that this feature doesn't work on mobile devices (like many other ones), and there's probably not much that can be done about it...

Browsing web pages not working on mobile devices
I have bt inifinity 2, from my laptop and mac (with same wifi connection) webpages load no problem, from my android tablet and iphone (with same wifi connection) web pages not loading. On these devices I can load youtube videos, and apps have connections/load data, it seems to be limited just to browsing webpages.
I have tried changing ssid for the 2 channels, I have tried disabling wifi on the router, and using apple time capsule as the router, everything seems to result in the same problem, you cannot browse web pages on mobile devices.
previously i had adsl from bt and didnt have these issues.

  • Help make an email signature a callable link on mobile devices

My company currently has an e-mail signature that has our logo, website and phone numbers. This was created in InDesign, and saved as .png to insert as an image in outlook 'signatures'. I know how to make a hyperlink in ID, that can be active in a PDF, and I looked up how to make phone numbers callable the same way, again active in a pdf. BUT, you can't insert an interactive pdf in an e-mail signature. Can I save this as something that can be inserted as an e-mail signature and then clickable and callable from people's mobile devices?? Do I need to use a different Adobe program? Or must it be done within outlook?
    Thanks!

Images can't have built-in links. That's all done in the underlying HTML code, or in your terms in Outlook itself. You seriously need to do some reading on basic web stuff.

  • Links in PDFs don't work on mobile device

A text linked to a page in the same document works fine when clicked on in the PC. But when tapped on in an Android device, the link does not work. Any ideas why this is so, and a workaround?
    Thanks!

If you use the MS add on for saving to PDF you might get the links. I use a PC, but as I understand it the PDF Maker that adds the links does not work on the MAC and never has. One MAC user (Phillip Jones) typically drops by and provides some insight into methods for getting the links, but I don't remember the solution (probably because I did not totally understand the solution as a PC user).

Gail, you are wonderful! That solved the problem. My Keynote docs are now downloading, and the docs I created with Pages on my Mac now open on the Mini.

If you do, then try resetting your iPad (nothing will be lost) and trying again: Hold down both the Home and Power buttons at the same time and continue to hold them down until the Silver Apple appears (up to 30 seconds). Once the Home screen redisplays, see if you can open your document.

  • PDF's and iCloud and Mobile Devices

How do you access PDF files sitting up on iCloud Drive in the Preview Folder (or even outside the Preview Folder) on either an iPad or an iPhone? Thanks.

I was hoping that the Apple would have Preview available. I have PDF Pen Pro. Will check with them. Thanks all.

  • How to get dark elements in background to be visible on PDFs viewed on mobile devices?

I would appreciate any information about how to export to PDF an InDesign document, which has multiple dark jpeg layers used to create a background, so that those elements appear in mobile device PDF viewing, just as they are seen on a computer monitor's version of the PDF viewing experience.
On mobile devices - iPhone and iPad - the background of the PDF appears simply as black. All the other texts and color photos in the foreground areas of the InDesign document appear perfectly on the mobile devices on the PDF.  Yet, the darker background elements render as solid black on the mobile devices.  Perhaps, this is always the case so that the PDF can be rendered viewable on mobile devices more quickly. I don't know.  The same PDF is viewed perfectly on computer monitors. This is only an issue with the mobile device viewing of the PDF.
I've tried everything I know to do to choose different and particular settings in the "Adobe PDF preset" type area from within InDesign in order to create viewable background elements via a PDF viewed on mobile devices.
Any information as to particular settings for the InDesign document to Adobe PDF which would allow ALL elements to be seen on ALL electronic devices would be especially helpful.

Steve,  thank you for your post as well.  Please see my first reply, which was in reply to Bob Levine's question.  I can't provide a link to the document because it's part of a collaborative work that I'm contracted for - so I can't violate that with a public sharing of the PDF.  Otherwise, I would share a link.  But your comment about the different app Readers you used, gave me the idea to try all of them that I have.  Because the doc was in a Dropbox shared folder, I could access it via my Dropbox app on my iPhone/iPad.  So, I decided to go through multiple options with what they allow you to open a PDF in, to read it.  I had only tried a few.  Then after your comment I decided to try whatever else they had and tried the Adobe PDF reader one - and it opened with all the visual elements there.  I'll have to tell the folks, that I'm doing the work for, to open it in the ADOBE PDF Reader app now.

  • There is no menu button on Firefox soon my android mobile device. How do I access options to set a home page without menu access?

I am trying to setup a home page on my Android mobile device. All changes require access through the menu. This works fine on my desktop computer but there is no menu button in the mobile version.

    Hi rcbeeman39:
    # Some Android devices have a menu button built directly into the device. In these cases, Firefox for Android hides its own menu icon . You can still access the Firefox menu by tapping on the device's menu button OR
    # The hardware menu button is typically located at the bottom of the device, next to the home, search and navigation buttons.
    # Full info including screenshots https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/firefox-menu-icon-missing-android-how-access-menu
    # If the above doesn't help please let us know your Android phone or tablet model number (S4? HTC One? etc), Android Operating System version (jellybean 4.1, 4.2, 4.3, kitkat 4.4, lollipop 5.0,e tc) and exactly what you did, what happened and what you expected
    # Finally there is no supported way to " setup a home page" on Firefox for Android. The unsupported 3rd party add-on Home Changer may work for you: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/android/addon/home-changer/?src=search Also you may find that customizing the start screen may be good enough: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/use-awesome-screen-search-web-bookmarks-and-more
Fingers crossed the above helps a wee bit!

  • FM and Mobile Devices

    Hi,
Our company is looking into mobile options. Does anyone have any experience using FM to create PDFs and then publishing to mobile devices? If so, were additional tools, such as plug-ins, required?
    Thanks.

We deliver to iPads (and, well, any tablet, really) with very little tweaking in Frame. Basically, just a couple of custom templates to apply different xref and master page formats, and a different BOOK file to eliminate "bookish" stuff that one wouldn't use much, if at all, on an electronic device (discussion of that is a bigger subject).
Then, we take the PDFs into Acrobat to make them into live forms with active fields, some of which are populated by a CRM system (but, again, that is a bigger subject).
We don't use any "helper" apps or plugins to manage this transition. Yes, we could automate some of the live form creation, with well-configured plugins; but that doesn't seem to be any more efficient for our workflow than doing it all in Acrobat (i.e., rather than training EVERY author to insert weird markers EXACTLY right, we only need one post-production person to make live forms).
TL; DR: Yes. No, but probably helpful in certain environments.

  • Beehive Mobile device configuration problem from /uss

Hi all. Everything seems to be fine on my 1.4.3 install except I can't provision my mobile devices through https:<beehvice_server_address>/uss. I get the following http 500 error:
Servlet error: An exception occurred. The current application deployment descriptors do not allow for including it in this response.
I've searched the net and the only info I found on this is something about permissions. Do I need to login as an administrator to do this?
    TIA

Sure. in the /uss page there is a mobile devices "tab" where you can provision your mobile device by sending an sms to the the device with the configurations. When I input the mobile phone number and click on send sms or the resend sms link I get the aforementioned error. If the /uss page is not meant for provisioning mobile devices as well then where can I do this?

  • Website looks different on mobile devices

I know that I can create phone and tablet versions of my Muse website, but I actually don't want a different layout. When I visit my published desktop site on mobile devices, the site's layout looks justified to the left. I have checked to make sure that the page is centered horizontally in the page properties. It looks fine on desktop browsers, but I have a narrow blank strip on the right side of my pages when viewed on mobile devices.
Any ideas how to fix this? Thanks!

    Hello,
I would request you to shae the site URL so that we can take a look at it.
Mostly this happens when you place any object outside the browser fill area. Please make sure everything is in side the browser area.
Please refer to the liks below for more explaination.

  • Linking between pages is not working for me on mobile devices. Can someone help?

I can get the page linking to work on my desktop machine, but when I preview on mobile devices through Edge Inspect the page does not work. It tells me the page can't be found. Can someone help? - Thanks Robin

Try downloading Reflow Preview 8 that was released yesterday and see if that fixes it. If not can you post the name of the page you are trying to link too and I'll see if I can reproduce it.
Thanks for you help and thanks for using Reflow,

Some Windows customers may experience installation issues while trying to install or open iTunes 11.1.4.
    Symptoms may include:
"The program can't start because MSVCR80.dll is missing from your computer"
"iTunes was not installed correctly. Please reinstall iTunes. Error 7 (Windows Error 126)”
"Runtime Error: R6034 - An application has made an attempt to load the C runtime library incorrectly"
"Entry point not found: videoTracks@QTMovie@@QBE?AV?$Vector@V?$RefPtr@VQTTrack@@@***@@$0A@VCrashOnOverf low@@***@@XZ could not be located in the dynamic link library C:\Program Files(x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support\WebKit.dll”
    Resolution
Follow these steps to resolve the issue:
    Check for .dll files
    1. Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes and C:\Program Files\iTunes and look for .dll files.
    2. If you find QTMovie.DLL, or any other .dll files, move them to the desktop.
    3. Reboot your computer.
Note: Depending on your operating system, you may only have one of the listed paths.
    Uninstall and reinstall iTunes
    1. Uninstall iTunes and all of its related components.

  • Shouldn't a PDF reader on mobile devices by Adobe be the best?

I would have thought that of all the apps on mobile devices that can read and display PDF documents a PDF Reader by Adobe would be the best one out there. Instead it seems little better than average. It is still the best one I have found but... As I have looked through the list of discussions on this forum it looks like many topics have gone unanswered. And those that have been answered only a few responses are given. What is going on with the development?
Tagged PDF documents work okay on my Samsung Galaxy tab but I want to be able to do more with PDF documents than just open and read them.
Use bookmarks to navigate easily through a document
Use hyperlinks to navigate easily through a document
When I'm prepareing to teach a lesson I typically add notes in the margins and highlight text in the hard copy of the lesson manual. I would like to do the same in the PDF version of the manual.
One small advantage of a PDF document over epub is when when I tell someone or someone tells me to go to a certain page in book or manual or lesson book to follow along nothing work better than a PDF.
I was told recently that folks in another country use an iOS or Android device to view our PDFs more so than desktop units. So where is the development going with Adobe Reader for Android for example? At the rate technology changes these days it doesn't seem like anything is really moving forward.

This new version is much better. Thanks to the everyone working on the best PDF reader out there. So far as I have tested it on my Galaxy Tab it works fine except for one freeze up. I even installed it on my wife's iPad and she seems to be impressed. This is a big and for me long awaited improvement. Thanks Dov for giveing my patience level a boost. Now I just have to play around with it some more and see what needs to be tweeked and added.

  • Viewing PDF in mobile devices

If you create a Pdf using Indesign, import into Acrobat Pro and add text etc.....if you then save the Pdf to email to customers, the text entered using Acrobat Pro does not show in mobile devices!

Thanks for your reply....not sure how to upload a file....it's a very simple Pdf, viewed on a laptop or desktop there's no problem, only mobile devices.
Everything done with Indesign is fine, only some minor text entered using Acrobat does not show.
