PDF Portfolio - add web link to image

The layout for my pdf portfolio is an image where i want to have links to.html pages over the image.  Is that possible?
The only links that I see you can drag on the image are images or .pdfs.
Thanks!

Open Preview, and check Help > Annotate a PDF.  It describes such things as adding a text bubble, etc.
There is no explicit way to add a link in Preview.  Preview is, after all, primarily a viewer with a few markup tools.
I happen to use a product called PDFPen which is available in the App Store to mark up PDFs.
I have no financial interest in PDFPen.  I am a reasonably satisifed customer.

  • Add a link from image in web app

I need to add a link to social media site in a static image in a web app detail layout.
I have thought this would be...
    <a href="{tag_facebook}"><img alt="" src="/_assets/css/images/social-facebook.png" /></a>
but this displays the link bedside the icon.
I have tried field type "Text string (Hyperlink)" and "Text string (String)".
    any help appreciated.
    thanks megan

    Hey Liam,
Franchise list of stores added to a web app abd each store can have a different link added to the icon.
The icon is hard coded into the layout
The url needs to change for each
e.g. 15 Stores, some have their own Facebook page, some will link to a central Facebook page.
So the icon is static in the web app detail layout, but url changes.
    When I add the code
    <a href="{tag_facebook}"><img alt="" src="/_assets/css/images/social-facebook.png" />
the result in browser looks like...
    thanks Liam

  • How do I add web links to PDF files

I have a pdf file with a list of songs, and I need to add a web link to each one.
    How do I do it?
    Henry.

    Hi,
That is not possible via CreatePDF, in createPDF you need to upload the file on your machine for convertion. For Website convertion to PDF, you would require Adobe Acrobat.

  • PDF Portfolios Source File links

Is there a way to allow editing in the source files original location & have the portfolio stay linked & update from this, rather than portfolio automatically copying the source file to a temporary location?

No, and I doubt there ever will be. A PDF Portfolio is just a set of attachments, so think of it like a ZIP file - the documents you add to it become embedded copies rather than links, and to include information in the Portfolio about where the original files came from would be a huge privacy issue. Would you want a customer finding out their quotation came from a folder called "quotes/annoying clients/2012" ??

    Back up all data.
In the Finder, select Go ▹ Go to Folder... from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-G. Copy the line of text below into the box that opens, and press return:
    /Library/Internet Plug-ins
From the folder that opens, remove any items that have the letters “PDF” in the name. You may be prompted for your login password. Then quit and relaunch Safari.
If you still have the issue, repeat the above steps using this line:
    ~/Library/Internet Plug-ins
If you don’t like the results of this procedure, restore the items from the backup you made before you started. Relaunch Safari again.

  • Saving as a PDF with Active Web Links

I need to save Word documents that have active web links in them to PDF files. When I save them to PDF, the links are no longer active. How can I save them with the web links in tact?

You need Adobe Acrobat to do this (the Professional version, not the free Acrobat Reader or the OS X Print to pdf function. The software is rather expensive, though. There are less expensive versions (Acrobat Elements) but these only run under Windows.
You can also use Adobe's online pdf creation service, which may be a better (i.e. cheaper) option.
    Hope this solves your problem...

  • Creating DVD with PDF files and web links

Hi all, first I'd like to say that these forums are a big help. I've spent DAYS scouring through topics learning. Of course, I know this opens it up for someone to post a link to a thread where my question has already been answered. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to find the specific help I need and would like to open a dialogue with experts.
I am creating a marketing DVD for a product. We produced a video for it, but the client also wants the audience to have access to a large amount of research in this specific field. This exists as PDF files and links to websites.
His previous Marketing CD was just that, a CD made with FileMaker and had the files and links and only worked in PC computers. I do not want to go back in that directions.
I want to make an informative DVD with the video and a few pages of selling points and cool tricks (I discovered multilayered menus working on this!) for those viewing on TV or Computer, and then an option for Computer users to click for more info.
How do I put PDF files on the disc and how do I put web links on there?
    Thanks,
    Byron

DVDSP uses a tool called DVD@Access. It enables a user to link to URL and call such documents as pdfs. The problem is that its never was reliable - especially on the PC side of things.
There have been many of posts in the last 2 days about its use. Do a search and you'll see.
DVD was not designed with the web in mind - it was conceived long before that time. linking to "outside" documents requires a third party tool to take over.
Just beware! - in fact if your client came to me I would refuse to do the job. I've seen the problems that exist doing work like this especially if your distributing to a large audience with different OS sets ups. If one of the users has Vista you can forget about it working at all.
My suggestion would be to design a menu that tells the user the file paths to your pdfs or URLs on the disc.

  • Does Acrobat X Standard let you add web links to PDFs?

I can't find anywhere on Adobe's website that says whether you can add a hyperlink in X Standard or only in X Pro. If someone knows the answer, that would be very helpful. Thanks!

This is the Acrobat Macintosh forum. There is no Acrobat X Standard for the Mac.
You'll probably get more help in the Acrobat Windows forum.

  • New to PDF Portfolios - Need to Link between PDF, Word & Excel Docs

    Hello All,
Thanks in advance for your help.  I'm new to the Adobe X Pro & making portfolios.  I have figured out how to create a portfolio.  My portfolio has a main pdf document and several folders with pdf, word & excel files in them.  What I’m trying to do is link from my main document (pdf file) to the other files (word, excel & pdf) that I’ve added to the portfolio.  I’ve tried linking to a pdf file and a thumbnail of the word doc (because I did find that I can’t link to the actual word or excel doc).  When I create & test the link (for both the pdf file & the thumbnail of the word doc) it is there; I can click the link I created and it will go to the word doc.  If I close the portfolio & reopen it the link to the pdf file is there, but the link to the word doc isn’t there anymore.  That link now goes to the main pdf file and not the word thumbnail or even the folder where the word doc is saved.  Any ideas on what to do?  Thanks.

As Dave has noted you can not do this.
Acrobat/Reader would need to know what program to use to read the data in the document and since there can be many different programs that could read your document,  Acrobat/Reader would need to know exactly which program to use on one's system. You might only have MS Office but others might have both MS Office and OpenOffice.org and might prefer to use OpenOffice.org unless there is a feature that is only available to MS Office. Yes it is possible to create a program that can be configured to use specific helper programs, but it can have a real impact on system efficiency. It is easy enough to download or extract the non-PDF document and then use your program of choice. Just look to MS Outlook for a program that can not always open an attachment, especially PDF files.

  • Is it possible to send the Pdf format of WebI linking report through email?

    Hi All,
I have created linking between 2 WebI reports through OpenDocument. I can schedule the parent report and send it to User Email as PDF format, But when the user click the link in parent report its not opening the PDF format of child report after passing the parameter from Parent report. It throws following error.
Is it possible to send the linked reports(without breaking the functionality of passing the parameter to Child report) to user who don't have access to BO environment? Please help me out.
User needs to get the Parent PDF report in email, once they click the link it should pass the parameter to child report and the corresponding child report should open in PDF format. (In Infoview "View Mode" i can able to achieve this, how about in Email?).
    Thanks and Regards,
    Tharini Prabhu

So to achieve my requirement, according to my understanding I have to do the following steps.
Please correct me if I am wrong.
    1.     Without BO credentials the user can’t able to access the Link and child report created using OpenDoc.
    2. To overcome this I have to create one reserved userid through Admin and assign to all set of Users who will use the Reports.
    3. Have to use Single Sign on function through SDK to avoid the popping window for entering credentials right ?
I can’t able to find the Sap Note 1326701 in http://www.sapossnotes.com/
Could you please provide me the details how to implement that?

  • FR: Opening Reports in .pdf over a Web Link URL

    Hello,
I want to build a kind of start page in html, from where the users can launch financial reports. For this, I have integrated the URL link to the document like
    href="http://localhost.ads.company.nl:19000/workspace/browse/get/Reports/Controlling/Development/PortStrukABCSplit">Profitability Overview</a>
This opens the report in html.
The question is how to modify the link so it opens in .pdf?
Thanks in advance for your answers.
    Regards,
    Philip Hulsebosch

I've used the following on 901 and 931 to toggle between PDF and html reports for users:
    ?repository_format_id=pdf
    ?repository_format_id=html
I actually assign this to a variable so I just need to append to the URL, this also opens in a new window:
    printPDF = "?repository_format_id=pdf"
    Application.OpenURL( ServerName + url +printPDF,"_new")

  • How do I add a link to  image??

I'd like to display a image that link to other page, for example, a company's logo when I click it, turns to home page, how do I do that?

same way as you do it in plain simple html.
Have an anchor around an img tag with the target of the anchor pointing to whichever page you want to go to.
eg, to a homepage myHomePage in MyPageGroup pagegroup, you will do like the following:
<a href="/portal/page/portal/MyPageGroup/myHomePage"><img src="img_location/img_name.jpg"></a>Image location should mention where the img is saved starting from the root folder of your webserver. so it is referential in that sense.
Please go through some tutorials for html and a lot of such things would become simple and often you would be able to guess them. one nice tutorial is here:
    http://www.w3schools.com/html/default.asp
    hope that helps!

  • Redirect issue - attempt to retrieve PDF file via web link

    This redirect did not work.
Had to manually change the link to access the download.
    javascript:_hbRedirect('PDF%20Downloads','us/White%20Paper','http://www.apcmedia.com/salestools/SNIS-7AULCP_R2_EN.pdf','&c1=Virtualization%3A%20Optimized%20Power%20and%20Cooling%20to%20Maximize%20Benefits|US-en')

I think this is done by the browser when it is saving a temporary file and there's already a file with that exact name in the temp folder.

  • Problems opening PDF files/folders/web links please help

I have Windows XP, run Internet Explorer 7 and have Adobe Reader 8.1.2.
Now please understand that I am not terribly computer literate to I will do the best I can to describe my problem.
When I click on a link on a web page that requires Adobe Reader to view the new page, the new page is opened in Microsoft Word and of course is all jumbled.
So to actually be able to open and view the page I have to right click the link, click Save As, save it to a folder, left click Open Folder then Right click the document and choose Open With Adobe Reader 8.
So my question is how can I set the computer/Adobe Reader/ or whatever to automatically open things that require Adobe Reader to be viewed to open in Adobe Reader and not Microsoft Word.
Many thanks to anybody who can help me.

I also have Windows XP, run Internet Explorer 7, and have Adobe Reader 8.1.2.
Melissa is more computer literate than I am so bear with me and provide me with all the help you can.
My problem is that when I click on a new link on a web page to view or fill up or print a document, sometimes the document or the link will open and other times it will not open at all. What can I do to rectify this problem?
