  • Custom Color Scheme in Xcelsius

    Hi all,
I want to create custom Color Scheme in Xcelsius. I have referred the following blog
    [/people/john.kurgan/blog/2009/07/20/obtaining-the-perfect-custom-color-scheme-in-xcelsius-part-2|/people/john.kurgan/blog/2009/07/20/obtaining-the-perfect-custom-color-scheme-in-xcelsius-part-2]
That blog has XML files .I downloaded that XML and put in the following folder.
    C:\Program Files\Business Objects\Xcelsius\assets\themes\custom
But that Color Scheme is not displaying in Xcelsius.
If I put XML file in the following folder (C:\Program Files\Business Objects\Xcelsius\assets\themes\built-in ) I can use that color Scheme.
    What may be the problem?
    Help me in this regard.
    Thanks &Regards

  • Custom color scheme xml not getting used

I have a custom color scheme. I used the advanced settings.
Some of the color scheme settings are getting picked up but I don't think any of the advanced ones are.
The advanced settings ARE getting written to the color scheme's xml document (XcelsiuscustomThemes/mySchemeName.xml
    )... so that's good. Here's an example:
        <ListView>
          <headerStyleName.color>0xE1EFF7</headerStyleName.color>
           <textSelectedColor>0x333333</textSelectedColor>
          <headerStyleName.textSelectedColor>0x333333</headerStyleName.textSelectedColor>
        </ListView>
Is there someplace I need to point to the XcelsiuscustomThemes/mySchemeName.xml ?  So that those styles get used ?
Incidentally, If I edit the programfiles(x86)/.../themes/DefaultMapping.xml document   --  then any changes are reflected... so it seems like I just need to be able to tell xcelsius to use the  XcelsiuscustomThemes/mySchemeName.xml    instead of   the DefaultMapping.xml

  • KDE Custom Color Scheme

I've configured my KDE environment to be more night-coder/Globe background friendly so everything is pretty dark. That has left me with a problem:
Certain text doesn't show up very well. I cannot find the setting to change the every-other-text in the side of Okular or to get comments to look better in Eclipse.
    Any help would be appreciated.

For gtk-integration I'd use Qtcurve. Qtcurve has so many different looks. I never had problems with it.

  • How do I change the default color scheme in Dreamweaver CS6?

    Hi All
I just updated to CS6 on my work computer from CS5 on my personal computer (preferences and stuff were not transferred), and I'm trying to figure out how I can import my custom color scheme that I was using in CS5. In CS5 I was able to replace the Colors.xml file instead of going through each individual color option. I haven't had the same success with CS6.
In CS5 the Colors.xml file was located at this path (Mac)
    /Users/%name%/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Dreamweaver CS5/%localization(en_US)%/Configuration/CodeColoring
The problem with CS6 is that there is no Dreamweaver CS6 folder at that path after "Adobe/"
Has anyone else encountered this problem? Any solutions? Looking at code on a white background is hurting my eyes!

Do you think this maybe has to do with Mountain Lion?
Here's a screenshot of no Dreamweaver CS6 folder in Library/../..
And no, it's not in the "Adobe Creative Suite 6 Design and Web Premium" folder either. I keep going through all of the folders hoping the Dreamweaver cs6 folder will show up, but nothing! Thanks for your help guys. If you think of anything else, please respond!

  • Back up color scheme in KDE4 [SOLVED]

    Hello,
What config files might I back up to easily return to my custom color scheme in case I need to reinstall. I could, of course, just write down every html notation number, but I thought there might be a config file that would make backing it up a bit easier.
       Thanks--

if you saved a color scheme through the settings, on vanilla kde4
    ~/.kde4/share/apps/color-schemes/
you should see something like MyColors.color (*.color files are any ones you've changed or saved)
    i'm guessing .kdemod4 for kdemod

  • Trouble adding a custom PDF Portfolio layout to Acrobat 9

I asked this question over in the Acrobat Windows and Mac forums, but no luck. I think I was in the wrong place...anyways...apologies for cross-posting, but I'm stuck and up against a deadline!
I've developed a custom navigator for an Acrobat 9 Pro PDF Portfolio. However, I’m having trouble getting it to show up as a layout option when I open Acrobat to create a PDF portfolio. The basic layouts are there, but I can't find my layout or the "other layouts" category.
I've tried this in both Windows and Mac environments on two different computers. In Windows, I tried installing the .nav file in the C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat9\Navigators directory; on Mac, I tried both /Application Support/Adobe/Acrobat/9.0_x86/Navigators/ and Applications/Acrobat 9 Pro/Contents/Resources/en.lproj/Navigators/ directories. I've shut down Acrobat and reopened the application, as well as restarted my computer. I still can't get the new navigator to show up.
Is there perhaps a plug-in or something from the SDK that I need to install into Acrobat first in order for my custom .nav to show up? I'm sure it's something simple and obvious that I'm overlooking - but I haven't been able to figure out what. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!
    Jill

I thought so. I followed the instructions in a tutorial I saw on Acrobatusers.com. I updated the config.xml, navigator.xml, and the assets (arrows, background), then used WinZip to open an existing .nav file as an archive and swap out the files I changed. Maybe the mimetype file is getting compressed when I close WinZip? Is there another/better way to create the .nav file?

  • How do I make a custom brush image in a gradient color scheme in Photoshop Elements 12?

I want to make a custom brush image in a gradient color scheme.  I know how to change the hue jitter, but I want to "paint" the image with a gradient between two colors.  For example, I have an image of an octopus that I have used to create a custom brush.  I want the top of the octopus to be hot pink and gradually fade into a deep orange at the end of the tentacles.  Everything I've looked up just colors the background.  Thanks in advance!

    Try the following:
    Open the octopus image
Open a Gradient Map Adjustment layer above this. There are several preset gradients, but in my version of the program I don't see one with pink to orange.
When you double click on the gradient bar in the Adjustments palette, this will open up the Gradient Editor, where you can tailor the gradient to your specifications with color and opacity stops. (see below)
This will apply the gradient to the entire picture. However, the adjustment layer has a built-in mask (the white rectangle).
Left click on this and paint with a black brush to hide the gradient outside of the octopus. If you go too far, you can correct with a white brush.
Now, as to the Gradient map adjustment layer, here is how to configure it:

  • How do I get a custom color profile into a PDF?

I have a client who provided a custom color profile for a CMYK file.
I worked on Photoshop CS5.1 images and made sure the profile is embedded.
I placed these Photoshop images into an Illustrator CS5.1 template and made sure the profile is embedded.
I need to create a hires PDF with the Press Quality settings from the Illustrator file.
I have been doing a Save As to PDF from Illustrator, which seems to work.
OK, that's when my troubles start.... When I go into Acrobat Pro X v10.0.0 nothing indicates my profile is there.
I even have the profile loaded into Acrobat.
The client seems to want the Paper Simulation to show their profile, but the profile does not even come up in the list when I look for it. It seems to default to RGB even though this is a CMYK file.
I messed this up once already, and I need to get it right this time.
The client is in Germany and they sound very angry when they don't get the proper files.
    Help!

  • Maintaining Custom Colors from FrameMaker to the PDF

I tried posting this question under the "Color Management" forum, but got a lot of questions asking what printer, paper, and other settings I'm using...not really what I'm looking for...
    Here is my original post:
I am having problems with my company's custom logo colors appearing in the PDF correctly. I created two color definitions in FrameMaker 10 (using colors Pantone 485 CVC and Pantone 281 CVC). These colors are mostly used for diagram callouts. Instead of printing these colors that I added, the default red and blue colors appear in the PDF.
I recently upgraded to Distiller X and Acrobat Professional X, thinking that maybe the older versions just didn't support those colors, and I am still getting the same result. FrameMaker is using the CMYK model.
I have a feeling that I just need to adjust some settings, but I don't know whether to adjust Distiller, Acrobat, or FrameMaker. Anyone else have issues when trying to use their company's colors? Any ideas on what might work? I don't think the problem is  my screen settings because when I compare the Frame file with the PDF, the difference is obvious.
    Thanks in advance,
    Smitty

Search on "color management" and/or "pantone" in this forum.

What is your CMYK color space (e.g. some SWOP)?
How are you creating the PDF?
Save-as, print-to, or Distill from .ps
    Distill has a separate issue.
    What is the delivery flow?
Do you need color-matching at a print shop,
    or just in the PDF?
How are the logo colors coming in?
If they are from CMYK EPS, for example, they should survive the Windows GDI experience.
If any of your custom colors are text (not graphics), that's a more involved problem.
The fundamental problems you're facing are:
    1. Frame has no color management; never will.
    2. Windows had no CMYK for years, and now has a destructive fake CMYK.
There are usually work-arounds, 3rd party in extreme cases.

  • Customizing Appearance Available Window Themes/Color Schemes?

    *_<Customizing Appearance> Available Window Themes/Color Schemes?_*
I'm planning to get a MacBook Pro very soon. I have never used Mac OS, and I would like to know if it is possible to select custom window themes/color schemes?
*I'm an old WinXP Vet, and I would very much miss the ability to use custom coloring for windows and/or menu bars.*
Here is an example scheme for WinXP I currently use:
*My eyes get less tired when I have a mainly black/dark background, and light buttons/text.*
I would appreciate anyone with information.

Customizations/themes for Leopard are at the moment I think thin on the ground. For Tiger there are plenty. Some people though are reluctant to install them. I used a product called Shapeshifter while on Tiger and never had an issue with it though many did. The have not yet updated for 10.5

  • PDF Portfolios from V9 to VX

Below (first paragraph) is what I understand. My question follows paragraph. Thanks.
When you open a 9 portfolio in X, the 9 design appears as expected. Minor editing is allowed (add or delete files, edit filenames or descriptions) and can be saved in 9 format. HOWEVER, for extensive edits you must convert the portfolio to X. Then, the layout and colors convert to Click-Through layout with the Clean visual theme. Welcome pages, headers, color palettes from 9 are removed. Headers can be re-done but Welcome pages (which we use) are not supported.
So, can't do Welcome Page like I have in V9 portfolio. But, does anyone know the look/feel customization capabilities for a portfolio in X? Are custom colors allowed? How about a company logo? Is list view gone in X (user has to click through one or a handful of docs at a time)? Layout capabilities are limited in X (not like those in V9)?

You can customize Portfolios in Acrobat X (and XI) in two ways - using Flex you can create Layouts (these define how the cards behave and animate). Using Flash Pro and Illustrator you can then apply Themes (skins) to change the color and style of the elements.
Welcome screens do not exist, you can create something vaguely like them using a custom Layout but it won't have the same functionality. Joel Geraci at http://blog.practicalpdf.com has some free examples of custom designs but writing your own is a far-from-trivial Flex programming task.
See these tutorials - first one is an overview of what's possible, second is a Tech Talk recording of the process of making a Theme:

  • Filename in PDF portfolio?

Sorry for what I'm sure is an easy(lame) question.
I don't want to show the filename when creating a PDF portfolio and I've hunted for the answer without any luck.
How do I only show the image or show a custom text/ title but not the XXXXX.jpg filename?
    thx!
    > just to clarify.... when viewing a PDF portfolio of images I don't want to show the image filename below the image.

    Hi,
I've been trying to hide the file name myself. It seems intuitive that, while in the Modify area of the PDF Portfolio, under "Specify File Details" that one would simply unclick "Name" under "Columns to Display".
But all that seems to do is hide it while I'm within the Modify section. I save and go back to view the pdfs and there are the file names.
Anyone out there know the answer? Even if it's just a link to more info, that would be great. I need to get this out but without the filenames. I've searched in Google but no good info.
BTW, the Description option is a nice touch and shows upon immediate hover. That's why I don't need to show a file name. Plus, you can write more in the description than is viable/sensible in a file name.
    Thanks for your help.

  • Can't drag files into folders in PDF portfolio

I have created a PDF portfolio that contains primarily PDFs converted from e-mail messages, along with a few files from various Microsoft Office products. The portfolio has been added to over time, and now we have almost 100 files in the portfolio, so we'd like to organize these files into folders so it is easier to use.
However, when I create a folder, I am not able to drag any files into it. I've tried all different types of files--PDFs, Word, PowerPoint--when I drag the file on top of the folder, I get the circle backslash symbol indicating the function is not allowed. I can't find any information about this in the Help files; every tutorial I've looked at indicates that I should be able to drag and drop files wherever I like, but doesn't mention what to do if I can't.
I'm using Acrobat Pro X on Windows XP with Service Pack 3.
Any suggestions about why this might be happening and how to fix it would be greatly appreciated! I really don't want to have to recreate the whole thing, but it's not going to be very useful if we continue adding unorganized files.
    Thanks,
    Lisa

I tried a different layout (I had a custom layout set up; I switched to the standard Grid), and I still can't drag and drop.
I just now created a new portfolio with a few of the same files, and I was able to drag the files into a folder I created.
Yes, the original portfolio was created in Acrobat 9.
    Thanks,
    Lisa

  • Dynamic Header help in PDF Portfolio

Need some help please, to create and load a Dynamic Header when creating a PDF Portfolio in LiveCycle ES2.  Have input parameter of a [name] and an [image file] to place in the Header.  Process flowing out of Assembler (PDF Generator).  Currently other PDFs being inserted within the Portfolio, and Navigation parameter being received ok, and setting up custom navigation.  Any help w/ creating Dynamic Header is very much appreciated.

By "Dynamic Header" do you mean the PDF cover page, or the interactive portfolio navigator?
If its the cover page then it should be a fairly easy thing to do.  You can create a form (XDP or PDF template) with a field for the name and one for the image.  Then you would use something like LC Forms or Form Data Integration to merge the data (image and name) with the template.
The one thing you would have to do is to put the image and data into an XML format before you merge it with the form. That means you will need to convert the image to a base64 encoded format.  Fortunately there is a built in function for doing the conversion in a SetValue operation (its under Document Object Functions).
If you are talking about the Navigator (portfolio shell) then it gets a bit more tricky.  The navigator is actually a Flex application and not a PDF.  You'll have to code a new one using Flash Builder, then import the resulting .nav file into your LiveCycle application. Merging the data with it is not something I've done before, but it should be possible (the LiveCycle Interactive Statement Solution Accelerator does something similar).
If it is new navigator you need, check out some of the following links:
